ARNOLD M. ARNONE
CHARLESTON, S.C. - Arnold M. Arnone, 67, of Charleston, formerly of Frostburg, died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, in a Charleston hospital.
Born Sept. 21, 1929, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Michael Arnone and Lucy (Fabbri) Arnone.
Mr. Arnone was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Charleston. He graduated from high school and attended Catherman's Business School, Cumberland. He was a former manager with several Charleston area businesses: Tri-State Discount Center, Harris Drugs, and Edward's and Taylor's Frozen Foods. He was a substitute teacher with Charleston County Schools; past president of the North Charleston Civitan Club; and vice-president of the Lenevar Civic Club.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Virginia (Clark) Arnone, Charleston; one son, Alan Arnone, Charleston; one daughter, Ann Moore, Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, James Arnone, Frostburg, and Samuel Arnone, Joppa; three sisters, Rose McKenzie, Frostburg, Joan Brewer, Hagerstown, and Linda Arnone, Charleston; and three grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. only.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Byrnes as celebrant.
Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
GEORGE DUCKWORTH
BARTON - After spending a special Thanksgiving with his family, George "T-Bone" Duckworth, 72, of 19014 Legislative Road, Barton, devoted husband and loving father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 28, 1997.
Born May 30, 1925, in Lonaconing, he was preceded in death by his parents, John S. Duckworth and Mary A. (Thomas) Duckworth.
Over the years, George had been a policeman for the Town of Lonaconing, a youth counselor at the Boy's Forestry Camps and a guard for the Celanese Corporation.
His greatest joy in life was his wife, children and grandchildren. George loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was loved greatly by his family and friends, and his memories will always be cherished.
George served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he was stationed in Germany. He was a life member and past commander of the Alvin C. Neat VFW Post No. 5280. He volunteered as a dispatcher for George's Creek Ambulance Service for over 10 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lois (McDonough) Duckworth, Barton; three daughters, Diane Foutz and husband Gene "Bugs," Linda Myers and husband Randall "Cokey," all of Barton, Sharon Martin and husband Ernie, Pittsville, Md.; five grandchildren, Andrea and Marcia Martin, Pittsville, Brandon Foutz, Ashley and Kari Myers, all of Barton; three sisters, Alma Jean Duckworth, JoAnn Brinkman and husband Hugh "Red," Mary Lou Tyson and husband Jim; one brother, John "Jackie" Duckworth, all of Mesquite, Tex.; and his mother-in-law, Isabel McDonough, Barton.
At Mr. Duckworth's request, his body will be cremated.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park, LaVale.
The Alvin C. Neat VFW will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Monday at 7:15 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to George's Creek Ambulance Service or to Tri-Towns Rescue Squad.
GROVER O. ARONHALT
CUMBERLAND - Friends will be received for Grover O. Aronhalt at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Wednesday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
A memorial service will be conducted by East Gate Lodge at the funeral home Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap. Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Wallace Ullery, Boyd Wade, Walter Orndorff, Eugene Hare, Eugene Hook, and Dr. Robert K. Poling.

EDISON L. DUCKWORTH
FROSTBURG - Edison L. Duckworth, 76, of Piney Mountain Road, Frostburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 1997, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born April 28, 1921, in Moscow, Md., he was the son of the late Lawson and Carrie (Nichols) Duckworth. He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Corinne Kyles and Gertrude Morgan; and a brother, Raymond Duckworth.
Mr. Duckworth attended Grace Memorial Community Church and was a retired sales representative for Frederick Trading Company, Frederick.
Surviving are his wife, Emma L. Duckworth; two sons, Gary E. Duckworth, Jefferson, and Larry A. Duckworth, Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Martha Graves, Cumberland, and Evelyn Maynard, Canton, Ohio; three brothers, Leslie Duckworth, Eckhart, Wallace Duckworth, Fort Meyers, Fla., and Melvin Duckworth, Eckhart; and three grandchildren, Brian, Jason, and Lacy.
At Mr. Duckworth's request, his body will be cremated. There will be no visitation.
Memorial services will be conducted at the Grace Memorial Community Church, Seton Drive, Cumberland, on Monday, Oct. 20, 1997, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mickey Stephens officiating.
Private inurnment will be held in the Eckhart cemetery.

VIRGINIA L. GREEN
ZIHLMAN - Virginia L. "Ginny" Green, 68, of Zihlman, died Monday, March 17, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Oct. 8, 1928, in Zihlman, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sophia (Lashbaugh) Folk. She also was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Folk; and one sister, Betty McKenzie.
Mrs. Green attended the Zihlman United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, John W. Green; one daughter, Carolyn Green, at home; two brothers, Donald Folk, Zihlman, and Pete Folk, Cumberland; and two sisters, Cathy Wagner, Oldtown, and Diane Sisler, Aurora, W.Va.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
DOROTHY A. CARTER
CORRIGANVILLE - Dorothy A. Carter, 89, of Corriganville, formerly of Sunnyside, died Sunday, April 13, 1997, at the home of her daughter, Rose Ringer.
Born Jan. 15, 1908, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Margaret Ellen (Tighe) Chambers. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Carter Sr.; one sister, Lena Shriner; two brothers, Thomas "Pete" Chambers and Gerald Chambers; and four daughters, Margaret "Peg" Bridges, Mary Smith, Catherine Carter, and Dorothy Rizer; and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Carter worked as a secretary for Barley O'Neil, Cumberland, after graduation. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Mount Savage, and the Sodality.
Surviving are five daughters, Geraldine Finzel, Sykesville, Rose Ringer, Corriganville, Bernadette Murray, Meyersdale, Pa., Jeanette Darnell, Cumberland, and Christine Booth, Baltimore; one son, Thomas Carter Jr.; 29 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Chambers, a resident of Cumberland Nursing Home; and one special daughter, Dorothy Booth, Barrellville.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The wake service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, Mount Savage, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Vance Pastorius as celebrant.
Interment will be at St. Michael's cemetery, Frostburg.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Glenn Ringer Jr., Russell Booth Jr., Daniel Blank, John Rizer Jr., Roy Murray Jr., and Irvin Murray.
