ALTA L. BROADWATER
GRANTSVILLE - Alta Lucretia Broadwater, 91, of 2262 Jennings Road, Grantsville, died Monday, Nov. 17, 1997, at the home of Dan and Anna Yoder, Accident.
Born May 26, 1906, at Bittinger, she was a daughter of the late Christian and Annie (Beitzel) Orendorf. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Broadwater.
Mrs. Broadwater was a member of Glade Mennonite Church, the Choir, and the Ladies Group.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Lena Broadwater, Bloomington; a sister, Mary Miller, Grantsville; one step-grandchild; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Earl Yoder officiating. Interment will be in the Glade cemetery.
CLARICE L. DAUM
CUMBERLAND - Clarice Lee Daum, 69, of 628 Frederick St., Cumberland, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997, at Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit.
Born May 20, 1928, in Shallmar, she was the daughter of the late Russell V. and Sylvia E. (Wilkins) Warnick. She also was preceded in death by one sister, Lois E. Lear.
Mrs. Daum was a retired employee of the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company where she worked in the accounts payable department. She was a member of the Ridgeley VFW Auxiliary, and a member and past secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary of Cumberland Eagles Aerie No. 245. She had been awarded the Eagle Mother of the Year.
She is survived by her husband, Charles T. Daum; two sons, Michael Daum, Cumberland, and Thomas Christopher Daum and wife Kimberly Lynn, Cumberland; one daughter, Jacqueline L. Daum, Cumberland; two grandchildren, Christopher Alan Daum and Jaime Daum; one sister, Mary Lou Markwood and husband Jack, Short Gap, W.Va.; and one brother, Russell "Bunk" Warnick and wife Betty Ann, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap.
CAROLYN A. DASHIELL
CUMBERLAND - Carolyn Ann Dashiell, 65, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, June 17, 1997, at her residence.
Born Feb. 19, 1932, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late William W. and Margaret U. (Geiger) Dunlap. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar A. Dashiell Jr.; and one brother, Raymond Dunlap.
Mrs. Dashiell was a homemaker. She was a 1950 graduate of St. Mary's High School.
Surviving are two sons, Robert P. Dashiell, Flintstone, and Edgar A. Dashiell III, Bloomsburg, Pa.; four grandchildren, Robert P. Dashiell II, Ashley A. Dashiell, Ian J. Dashiell and Hailey N. Dashiell; two sisters, Margaret Leatherman and husband Elbert, Las Vegas, Nev., and Rosellen Morgan and husband Albert, LaVale.
At her request there will be no visitation. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday from 1 to 2 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Adam E. Grim officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the American Heart Association.
CLIFTON J. BROADWATER
LONACONING - Clifton Jerome "Nary" Broadwater, 86, formerly of 3 Dudley St., Lonaconing, died Sunday, June 29, 1997, at the Egle Nursing Home, where he had been a patient for two years.
Born May 26, 1911, in Bond, he was the son of the late J. Nelson Broadwater and the late Virginia (Broadwater) Broadwater. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Reiber) Dillon Broadwater, on March 10, 1993; and three sisters, Flossie L. Durst, Gertrude Broadwater and Ethel Stark; and two brothers, Elmer and Reuben.
Mr. Broadwater was employed in the spinning department of the Celanese Corp. for 44 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a 1929 graduate of Barton High School. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing, and the Methodist Adult Fellowship; Barton American Legion Post 189; and Barton and Lonaconing senior citizens.
Surviving are his stepdaughter, Sandra D. Grandstaff and husband Richard W., Lonaconing; granddaughter, Amy Sue Welch and husband Michael, Delaware, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Audrey and Anna Welch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Mortimore officiating.
Interment will be in the Laurel Hill cemetery, Moscow Mills.
Barton American Legion Post 189 will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Monday at 7:15 p.m.

ROBERT G. FEDALER
CUMBERLAND - Robert Gene Fedaler, 44, of Cumberland, died Tuesday, April 15, 1997, at his residence.
Born June 19, 1952, in Sacramento, Calif., he was the son of Freda Jones, Sacramento. He also was preceded in death by his stepfather and one half sister, Lee Ann Jones.
Mr. Fedaler moved to the Cumberland area in 1987. He was a retired sheet metal worker and former member of the Sheet Metal Union in California. He was Methodist by faith. He greatly enjoyed music and going to the movies. He was an avid fisherman and woodworker, and an active member of Archway Station, Inc. He loved Dancer and Cleo, his two pet cockatiels.
With Archway, he served always as an advocate, but also volunteered as a member of their board of directors and the membership governing council. He was a graduate and an active member of the Maryland Leadership, Empowerment, and Advocacy Program, or LEAP.
He was often in contact with government officials regarding services and funding for local mental health programs. He was a current member of the Allegany County Chapter of On Our Own, and the Consumer Advisory Board.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two half sisters, Linda and Jennifer; two half brothers, LaRoy and Michael; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are very dear friends, Dave Horn, and Carla and Pam Robertson. He will be missed by friends David Brode, Lou Ann Townsend, Lee Baker, Vicky Dye, and many others.
Mr. Fedaler donated his body to medical science. A memorial service will be conducted at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Stan G. Cardwell officating.

DON L. BROADWATER
FROSTBURG - Don Luke Broadwater Sr., 67, of Frostburg, died Thursday, April 17, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Sept. 14, 1929, at Cumberland, he was the son of the late Raymond and Laura (Stephens) Broadwater.
Mr. Broadwater was a heavy equipment operator with Operating Engineers Local 37. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict. He was also a 34 year member of American Legion Farrady Post 24, Frostburg, and the Mount Savage Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Virginia (Richards) Broadwater; two sons, Don Luke Broadwater Jr. and wife Judy, Frostburg, Robert Raymond Broadwater and wife Marlene, Mount Savage; two daughters, Carol Ann Wratchford and husband Richard, Cumberland, Alana Jean Hamilton and fiancee, John Michael, Frostburg; a brother, Wayne Broadwater and wife Lois, Manassas, Va.; four sisters, Melva Isella and husband, Carmen, Street, Rella Albright and daughter Ellen, Cumberland, Evelyn Ringler, Salisbury, Pa., and Norma Petenbrink and husband Ronald, Salisbury, Pa.; four grandchildren, Lori Zufall and husband Wes, Brenda Cannon and husband George, Robert Broadwater Jr., and Eric Broadwater; one step-granddaughter, Pamela Miller, one great-grandson, Brett Cannon and one step-great-grandson, Logan Wiland.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Garry Kipe officiating.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Zufall, George Cannon, Richard Ratchford, Dalton Paul, David Paul and Ed Hollada.
Interment will be in the New Germany Methodist cemetery.
