He was the spouse of Theresa Arbia Balado.

He was born on March 6, 1933 in Manhattan, NY the son of the late Joseph and Juanita Lata Balado

Mr. Balado worked for Petro Fuel as a Pluming and Heating Technician.

He enjoys woodworking, Model Building and various other crafts.

Surviving besides his wife are Children Donna Balado of Eldersburg, Joseph Balado, Jr. Of Long Island, John Balado of Cooperstown, NY, Juanita Challis of Mt. Carmel, PA, Anthony Balado of Long Island, NY

Sister: Juanita McCabe of NJ, Brother: John Balado of FL, Half Sister: Carmen Balado and Half Brothers Dino and Pepe Balado,

Also survived by 13 grandchildren, Sara, Emma and Dana Kobylenski, Erica, Joseph III Julie, John Jr., Jennifer, Anthony, Jr., Egidio and Melissa Balado, Cheryl and Kirsten Challis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Tuesday February 4, 2003 10 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Community, Liberty Rd. Eldersburg, MD

The family will receive friends at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM .

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to The American Lung Association, 1840 York Rd. Timonium, MD 21093.

82, Mt. Airy, MD
1920 - 2003

Jacob S. Young, age 82, of Mt. Airy, Died Thursday April 10, 2003 at Northampton Manor Health Care in Frederick.

He was born December 19, 1920 in Mt. Airy, Maryland, (Frederick County). The son of the late Herman H. Young and the late Eva Schneider Young.

He was employed by Mullinix Grain and Fertilizer Co. in Woodbine. He was a life long member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren in Mt. Airy. He served as an usher at the church for many years.

Dear Brother of Sara Louise Selby of Mt. Airy and Fannie Anderson of Mt. Airy.

Uncle of Jean Pickett of Mt. Airy and Larry and Fred Anderson of Monrovia. Also survived by several great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday April 12, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, 13356 Glissans Mill Road, Mt. Airy, MD 21771 with the Rev. Wallace "Bud" Lusk of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren in Mt. Airy officiating,

Interment will be in Locust Grove Church of the Brethren cemetery in Mt. Airy, MD

James D. Middleton, age 88, of Mt. Airy, died Friday April 4, 2003 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Mt. Airy.

He was born January 4, 1915 in Tuckasegee, North Carolina the son of the late James Middleton and the late Arlecia Shook Middleton.

He was a retired welder for Alpha, Portland Cement Company. He was Baptist by faith.

Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Columbine Tritt Middleton; three daughters; Velma Jackson and husband Wade of San Mateo, Florida, Carol Cornett and husband James of Westminster, S.C., and Alma K. Weamer and husband Tim of Bishopville, MD., two sons; David L. Middleton and wife Barbara of Mt. Airy and Douglas W. Middleton and wife Frances of Westminster.

Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; and one brother and sister in law Alvin and Mae Middleton of Tuckasegee, North Carolina. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Melba Morine Middleton and two brothers and five sisters.

Funeral Service will be held Wed. April 9, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Moody Funeral Home, 714 W. Main Street, Sylva, NC 28779 with the Rev. Eugene Crawford officiating.

Interment will be in the Middleton cemetery, Tuckasegee, NC.

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, (Beside South Carroll High School) on Sunday from 7-9 PM and at the Moody Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7-9 PM.

Louise Mullinix Day, age 74, of Woodbine, Died Tuesday April 1, 2003 at University Hospital in Baltimore, MD.

She was born in Carroll County, Maryland on January 12, 1929 the daughter of the late Beverly Cornelius Mullinix and the late Audrey Wilson Mullinix.

She was a homemaker. She was an active member of Morgan Chapel U.M. Church in Woodbine, serving on various committees.

She was the wife of the late Fred A. Day.

Sister of the late Wayne W. Mullinix, Sr.

Aunt of Wayne W. Mullinix, Jr. of Woodbine, Karen Singel of Windsor, PA, Roy Day of Winfield, Mark Day of Taylorsville, and Debbie Dorsey of Taneytown.

Cousin- Doris Yuspa of Pikesville, MD

Serving as Pallbearers will be: Roy Day, Mark Day, Leonard Singel, John Singel, Wayne Mullinix and Larry Singel.

Funeral Service will be held Friday April 4, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Morgan Chapel U.M. Church, 6750 Woodbine Road, Woodbine, MD with the Rev. Arthur Monroe of Morgan Chapel U.M. Church in Woodbine officiating.

Interment will be in Morgan Chapel U.M. Church cemetery in Woodbine, MD

Died Saturday January 4, 2003 at Sinai Hospital.

She was born June 25, 1929 in Granite, MD

The daughter of the late John Edward Murray and the late Bertha E. Young Murray.

She was a secretary at various different schools while working for the Baltimore County Board of Education.

A life Member of Liberty Road Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, A Volunteer at Northwest Hospital Center, and also at Liberty Assistance Center. A Devoted member of Mount Olive U.M. Church where she was also a member of the United Methodist Women.

Surviving is her Son and daughter in-law Roger R. Meeks, Jr. and Carolyn of Eldersburg, Daughter and Son-in-law Michele and Denny Leppert of Gamber, MD

Loving Grandchildren: Todd and Jeffery Leppert both of Westminster, Melissa and Justin Meeks both of Eldersburg and 1 Great Granddaughter; Makenzie Leppert of Westminster. Preceded in death by sister Florence E. Murray and Brother John Ivan Murray and Grandson Timothy Michael Leppert.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at Mt. Olive U.M. Church, 5113 Old Ct. Rd. Randallstown, MD at 10 AM with Pastor Shelia McCurdy officiating.

Interment to follow in church cemetery.

The Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at MT. Olive U.M Church.

He worked for Rocko Meats in Thurmont as a Meat Cutter.

Husband of the late Mildred Mabel Condon (nee Gosnell) who died on January 27, 2002.

She was the daughter of the late Harry Hildenbrand and Jessie Phillips Hildenbrand. She was born on February 5, 1920 in Shenandoah, PA.

The daughter of the late George E. Green, Sr. and the late Lois L. Zimmerman Green.

Hobbies included Flowers and Gardening.

In addition to her husband Mrs. Nickoles is survived by Daughter Crystal L. Nickoles and Son: Charles W. Nickoles, Jr. both of Taylorsville.

Sisters: Jeannette L. Wetzel of Thurmont, Sharon L. Richardson of Taneytown and Dorothy L. Ambrose of Frederick. Brothers George E. Green, Jr. of the Eastern Shore, Kenneth R. Green of Finksburg.

Preceded in death by sister: Delores J. Green and Brother Wayne I. Green.

A Memorial Banquet will be held on Wed June 11th 2003 from 7 to 9 PM at Winfield Volunteer Fire Department.
