Mrs. Gizella Foldesi

Mrs. Gizella Foldesi, 88, of Taneytown, died Saturday, June 9, at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Walkersville.
She was the wife of the late Janos Foldesi.
Born Nov. 20, 1912, in Dasztifalu, Hungary, she was a daughter of the late Istvan and Julianna Kalmer Toth.
She was a retired housekeeper.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Taneytown.
She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth M. Baur and husband Ralph of Taneytown, with whom she lived; two stepsons, Jimmy and Frank Foldesi, both of Kent, Ohio; two brothers, Istvan and Josef Toth of Hungary; two granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Skiles Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.
A prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, at the funeral home. Her pastor, the Rev. Martin E. Feild, will officiate.
Interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetery, Taneytown.
Mr. Jack Olive

Mr. Jack W. Olive, 93, of Gaithersburg, died Friday, June 8, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of the late Marjorie T. Olive.
Born May 20, 1908, in Illinois, he was a son of the late Urban Clarence and Nina Norris Olive.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He worked as a concrete superintendent in construction. He helped remodel the Capitol building in Washington. He had worked on the first Sears, Roebuck and Co. store built in Houston. He also helped build the Lehigh concrete plants in the Bahamas and in Union Bridge.
He liked to hunt, fish and garden. He also liked to go to the racetrack.
He is survived by one daughter, Deanna L. Stephens of Mount Airy; two grandsons, Jeffrey L. Stephens of Gaithersburg, and Jack W. Stephens of Cumberland; and one brother, Leo Olive of Texas.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, June 13, at Muriel H. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, where friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until time of the services.
Interment will be in Laytonsville cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or American Lung Association.
Mrs. Darlene Wright

Mrs. Darlene Marie Alexander Wright, 67, of New Windsor and formerly of Baltimore, died Saturday, June 9.
She was the wife of Lonnie Hamer Wright.
Born June 29, 1933, in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Sadie Marie Karn Alexander.
She was a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Lonnie M. Wright Sr. of Mount Airy, and Robert A. Wright and Roger L. Wright, both of Baltimore; one daughter, Ann Marie Rose of New Windsor; seven grandchildren; two half-brothers, Roger A. Gordon and Harry L. Gordon of Baltimore Highlands; and one half-sister, Evelyn L. Windsor of Baltimore Highlands.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 12, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in St. Mark's cemetery, Petersville.
Mr. Billy Smith

Mr. Billy Gene Smith, 54, of Brook Ridge Court, Gaithersburg, died Wednesday, June 6, at his residence.
Born Dec. 31, 1946, in Fayetteville, N.C., he was the son of the late Mack C. and Barbara F. Cline Smith.
He was employed as a flower vendor.
He is survived by two sons, Randall R. Smith Sr. and wife Margaret of Poolesville, and Michael O. Smith and wife Carla of New Market; three nephews; one niece; one great-niece; and one great-nephew.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Arrangements were handled by Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick.
Mrs. Alice Buckley

Mrs. Alice G. Buckley died Friday, June 8.
She was the wife of the late Francis C. Buckley.
She was a member of Mount Airy American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by three children, F. Robert Buckley of Frederick, Mary M. Baker and Thomas R. Buckley; two daughters-in-law, Jacqueline and Darla Buckley; one son-in-law, Bradley Baker; two brothers; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, John C. Buckley Sr.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 11, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Harry H. Witzke's Family Funeral Home Inc., 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, at St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Interment will be in Good Shepherd cemetery.

Mr. Robert Hanes

Mr. Robert Lee "Gundy" Hanes, 76, of 115 E. Potomac St., Brunswick, died Saturday, June 9, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Sept. 23, 1924, in Point of Rocks, he was a son of the late George R. and Elizabeth M. Joy Hanes.
He was a Protestant.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a mason for James Athey for 42 years.
He is survived by one sister-in-law, Agnes Hanes of Lucketts, Va.; two nieces, Sylvia Hanes of Taylorstown, W.Va., and Connie Costas of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; two nephews, Michael Shores of Berkeley Springs, and Ricky Hanes of Urbana.
He will be remembered by his friend, Shirley A. Stokes, with whom he resided.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Lydia Shores; and his brother, Richard Hanes.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at St. Paul's United Episcopal cemetery, Point of Rocks, with the Rev. Larry Zecher officiating.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Patient Care Fund at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, c/o VA Medical Center, Route 9, Martinsburg, W.Va. 25428.

Mr. Thomas McCrossin

Mr. Thomas H. McCrossin, 82, of Ijamsville, died Sunday, June 10, at his home.
He was the husband of the late Maude E. McCrossin.
Born Aug. 17, 1918, in Washington, he was the son of the late Elzy and Clara Hill McCrossin.
He is survived by two daughters, Gail Brinegar and husband James of Ijamsville, and Betty Palmer and husband Roger of Potomac; five grandchildren, Cheryl Howard, Thomas Brinegar, Janice DeJuliis, Dawn Lee and Angela Napoli; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lavinia Elmore of Washington.
Friends may call Tuesday, June 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Olin L. Molesworth Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Providence Methodist cemetery, Kemptown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County or to American Cancer Society.
Mr. Thomas Sappington

Mr. Thomas Augustine Sappington, 91, of Libertytown, died Monday, June 11, at his home.
He was the husband of Rosemarie Butsch Sappington, whom he married
July 1, 1989. His first wife, Helen McPherson Sappington, died Oct. 3, 1975.
Born Aug. 7, 1909, in Libertytown, he was a son of the late Dr. James Coale and Claire Emma Sappington Sappington.
He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Libertytown.
He graduated from Mount St. Mary's College, Emmitsburg.
His career with the U.S. government started in the executive branch, where he served on the professional staff. Later he served on the professional staff of the standing Committee on Government Operations of the U.S. Senate.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Louise S. Wilding of Greenbelt, and Margaret C.S. Ramsburg and husband Richard of Libertytown; three grandchildren, John C. Wilding and wife Sally of Columbia, Katherine W. Lesanto and husband Gary of Boston, and Elizabeth A. Ramsburg of New Haven, Conn.; and two great-grandchildren, Eric Wilding and Nicholas Lesanto.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 9201-A Church St., Libertytown. The Rev. John Dietzenbach will be the celebrant.
Private graveside services will be held in St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church cemetery at a later date.
Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Home, Frederick, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visiting or calling at the funeral home.
Mr. Carmel Smith Jr.

Mr. Carmel Victor Smith Jr., 54, of 414 Church St., Thurmont, died Monday, June 11, at his home after a two-month illness.
He was the husband of Florence Sexton Smith, his wife of 10 years.
Born Aug. 24, 1946, in Frederick, he was a son of Frances Olive Smith of Damascus, and the late Carmel Victor Martin Smith.
He had been employed for 17 years as a truck driver with the E.A.I. division of Pleasant Excavating Co., Damascus.
He was a member of National Rifle Association, and a former member of the Rockville Lions Club.
He loved trucking, doing mechanical work on cars, and country and blue grass music.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Tammy Marie Shook of Baltimore, and Teresa Lynn Smith of Myersville; three stepchildren, James Robert Jewell of Thurmont, and David Lee Sexton and Tammy Jeanette Sexton, both of Frederick; four sisters, Ilene Mae Myers and Betty Jane Norris, both of Frederick, Shirley Ann Herrell of Adamstown, and Linda Lou Ward of Damascus; two brothers, Clyde Theodore Smith of Gibsonton, Fla., and Dennis Lee Smith of Mount Airy; three grandchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Road, Libertytown, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 13.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert E. Steinke, chaplain of Frederick Memorial Hospital, officiating.
Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
