Elsie May Burdette Duvall, 85, of Mount Airy, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at the Continuum Care in Sykesville.
Born Sept. 26, 1914, in Mount Airy, she was the daughter of the late and Claire Wetzel Burdette and Mr. Burdette.
She was a retired manager at Highway Liquors.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Carl J. and Lena Duvall of Frederick; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and four step-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Burrier-Queen, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield. Interment will be in Marvin Chapel cemetery in Mount Airy.

Theodore A. Kokoski
69, of Manchester
Theodore A. Kokoski, 69, of Manchester, formerly of Harrisburg, Pa., died Saturday, May 6, 2000, at his home.
Born Sept. 21, 1930, in Cambria County, Pa., he was the son of the late John and Rose Kordish Kokoski. He was the husband of Beverly Enrico Kokoski.
He was a self-employed mason for over 30 years. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Association in Mechanicsburg, Pa.; the James A. Danner VFW Post 537 in Etters, Pa.; the American Legion in Steelton, Pa.; and the Dixie Troop. He was a member of Holy Infant Catholic Church in York Haven and he was a veteran of the Army, having served in World War II and the Korean conflict.
He received a Korean Service Medal with five Bronze Stars, the United Nations Service Medal, and a Purple Heart.
Surviving are sons Theodore A. Kokoski II of Thurmont and Duane A. Kokoski of Finksburg; stepsons David A. Enrico and Renato D. Enrico, both of Lemoyne, Pa., Michael W. Enrico of Harrisburg, Pa., Paul M. Enrico of West Fairview, Pa. and Anthony R. Enrico of Camp Hill, Pa.; daughters M. Kathleen Burkett and Kimberly A. Hege, both of Hagerstown, Carol L. Sunkel of Camp Hill, Pa., and Constance A. Boswell of Chambersburg, Pa.; brothers John Kokoski of Ebensburg, Pa. and James Koski of Charles Town, W.Va.; sisters Sophie Povecke and Anna Mae Tontala, both of North Tonawanda, N.Y., Victoria Fye of Johnstown, Pa., Frances Polchito of Ebensburg, Pa., and Virginia Penrod of Mercersburg, Pa.; 23 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was predeceased by son Michael A. Kokoski.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Infant Catholic Church, 15 Lanvale St., York Haven, Pa., with his pastor, the Rev. Clarence A. Olszewski of Holy Infant Catholic Church, as celebrant. Interment will be in Fort Indiantown Gap cemetery. Military honors will be performed by the 82nd Airborne of Mechanicsburg.

69, of Mount Airy
Jean Frances Tyson Miller, 69, of Mount Airy, formerly of Hamilton, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at Carroll County General Hospital, Westminster.
Born May 19, 1930, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Edgar A. and Marie Buettner Tyson. She was the wife of Joseph L. Miller.
She was a mutilith operator for Bendix Co. for 25 years and retired in 1976. She was an avid gardener and doll collector.
Surviving are brother John Tyson of Ocean Pines; sisters Elizabeth Head of Bel Air, Sylvia Sizemore of White Hall, Nancy Brocato of Owings Mills, and Doris Giordano of Lochearn; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Catholic prayers will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
She donated her eyes to the Maryland Eye Bank.

Jeannette B. Preston
83, of Westminster
Jeannette B. Preston, 83, of Westminster, died Friday afternoon, May 5, 2000, at her home.
Born April 30, 1917, in Franklin, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Homer Burton and Fannie Thorn Baker. She was the wife of Carlton E. ``Bud" Preston, who died in 1999.
She was a member of Westminster United Methodist Church.
Surviving are son Charles M. ``Mike" Preston of Westminster; and sister Helen Harris of The Colony near Dallas, Texas.
She was predeceased by siblings William L., R. Reid, Virginia L., and Mary Lu Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Myers Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, with the Rev. Jody Silliker officiating. Interment will be in St. Benjamin's (Kriders) cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pauline Myers Welk, 86, of Pleasant Valley, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at Carroll County General Hospital.
The Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. today in the chapel, followed by a service held at 8 p.m. by Eastern Star Chapter 94, at Pritts Funeral Home, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthews United Church of Christ, Pleasant Valley with her pastor, the Rev. Lois Ann Furgess-Oler, officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley cemetery.
Helen M. Zeigler
78, of Silver Run
Helen Marie Zeigler, 78, of Silver Run, died Sunday evening, May 7, 2000, at Carroll County General Hospital.
Born July 25, 1921, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Garland and Vergie Coe Bollinger.
She was a homemaker and member of Taneytown Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are daughters Virginia Dutterer of Littlestown, Pa., Betty Bange and Dorothy Stauffer, both of Hanover, Pa., Charlotte Zeigler, Beatrice Thomas and Esther Barnes, all of Westminster; brothers Ralph Bollinger of Baltimore and Roland Bollinger of Hanover; sisters Evelyn Glacken of Westminster and Shirley Bosley of Manchester; 12 grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by daughter Kathleen Zeigler; and a grandson.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Little's Funeral Home, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown, Pa., with her pastor, the Rev. R. Benjamin Jones, officiating. Interment will be in Mummerts Meeting House cemetery in East Berlin, Pa.

Geraldine C. Harrison
80, of Berlin
Geraldine C. Bolger Harrison, 80, of Berlin, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at Copper Ridge, Sykesville, after complications from Alzheimer's disease after a 16 year illness.
Born Aug. 30, 1919, in Baltimore City, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Bolger. She was the wife of the late Howard E. Harrison Jr.
She and her husband built and operated ``The Belgian Village," a motor court and restaurant in Baltimore County. They also founded and developed a children's theme park, ``The Enchanted Forest," in 1954, which they operated for over 34 years.
During the 1950s and 60s, she played an active role in the Cathedral School Mother's Club, the Trinity School's Mother's Club and served as president of the Loyola Mother's Club. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Ellicott City and a long time supporter of St. Vincent's Orphanage in Baltimore. She was also a member of Turf Valley Country Club and the Ocean Pines Yacht and Country Club. She graduated from the Institute of Notre Dame in 1936.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Howard E. III and Kathleen Harrison of Ellicott City; son Bruce F. Harrison of Sykesville; daughters and sons-in-laws Barbara A. and Lorin Veltre and Linda M. Gardner and John Wallace, all of Ellicott City; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral liturgy and interment will be private.

James `Woody' Jones
53, of Arlington, Va.
J ames Norwood ``Woody" Jones, 53, of Arlington, Va., died Saturday, May 13, 2000, as a result of a light-plane crash in Carroll County.
Born May 23, 1946, in Washington, D.C, he was the son of the late James L. and Dorothy Roberts Jones.
He was a supervisor for Washington Gas and Electric. He served three years in Vietnam. He enjoyed flying and was a member of the Capital Area Light Flyers, the United States Ultralight Association, Mid-Atlantic Soaring Association, the Experimental Aircraft Association and the American Modelers Association.
Though he resided in Arlington, Va., Emmitsburg was his weekend home for over 20 years.
Surviving are sister Candy Morris of Millersville; one niece and one nephew, both of Millersville; and devoted friends Carmen and Mike Waters and Max and Holly Waters, all of Fairfield, Pa.
A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday at Skiles Funeral Home, 210 W. Main Street, Emmitsburg, with the Rev. Susan Haas Yatta officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the National Memorial Park, Falls Church, Va.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Mary L. Kistner
58, of Columbia
Mary Lou Kistner, 58, of Columbia, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at her home.
Born Oct. 28, 1941, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary Pietroluongo Palmieri. She was the wife of Ludwig Kistner.
She had been a homemaker for most of her life.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are son John Kistner of Washington, D.C.; daughter and son-in-law Christine Kistner-Stoner and Bill Stoner of Eldersburg; sister Patricia Braine of Old Bridge, N.J.; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Interment will be private.
