She was born June 3, 1961 in Washington, DC, the daughter of Bernard W. Janicki of Washington, DC and Katherine L. Janicki (nee Wagner) of Silver Spring, MD.

She was a homemaker.

Loving wife of Barry A. Billand.

Devoted mother of Michael A., Brittany Lee, Kevin W. and Samuel C. Billand.

Dear sister of Anne M. Knutson of Boulder, Colorado, Judith M. Smith of Huntington, New York and Bernard R. Janicki of Rockville, MD and Kathleen M. Abramson of Damascus.

Daughter in law of George W. Billand of Bowie and the late Peggy A. Billand.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday March 2, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Wards Chapel U.M. Church, 11023 Liberty Road, Randallstown with the Pastor Donald Burgard of Wards Chapel U.M. Church in Randallstown Officiating.

Interment will be in Wards Chapel U.M. Church cemetery, Randallstown, MD.

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

In Lieu of Flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the Billand Childrens Fund, C/O Susquehanna Bank, 6415 ridge Rd. Eldersburg, MD 21784

Melvin Edison Haines 69, of Woodbine, MD
1936 - 2005

Melvin Edison Haines, age 69, of Woodbine, Died Wednesday February 23, 2005 at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster, MD.

He was born January 13, 1936 at home in Woodbine, MD., he was the son of the late Melvin Victor Haines and the late Helen Viola Brightwell Haines.

He was the husband of the late Betty Duvall Haines.

Surviving Faithful Companion Mary Ann Eyler.

He was predeceased by brother Frank Eugene Haines and half sister Gloria Jean Van Metre of West Virginia.

He had been a Construction Worker for Randall Construction Company.

Also surviving son and daughter in law William Edison and Janiece Haines of LA, Diane M. Haines of Frederick, Russell L. Haines of Woodbine. Also Frank, Frances and Tammy Eyler. Grandchildren, Betty Kay Haines of Dickerson, MD, Christy Ann Haines and Coy Edison Wetzel of Frederick, Laurie Lee and Curtis Edison Haines of LA. Also Galen Monti, Travis and Hannah Earp of Woodbine, sister Patricia Ann Haines Brabham of Woodbine, Half sister Virginia Lee Haines and Half Brother Calvin Owens Haines both of West Virginia.

Funeral Service will be held Friday February 25, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with Deacon James Johnson Officiating a family member.

Private Interment

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. from 12:00-2:00 PM on Friday.

Hartsel S. Hawkins 92, of Winfield, MD
1912 - 2005

Hartsel S. Hawkins, age 92, of Winfield, died Wednesday February 23, 2005, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD.

He was born October 24, 1912 in Waynesville, North Carolina the son of the late John A. Hawkins and the late Amelia K. Hawkins (nee Sparks ).

He was the husband of the late Martha N. Hawkins.

He was a Retired Stationary Engineer for Springfield State Hospital. Also worked as an engineer for Maryland School for the Deaf in Frederick and at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home in Winfield. He drove a School Bus for numerous years for the Carroll County Public School System. He was a member of the Taylorsville-Winfield Lions Club. He was a member of Ebenezer U.M. Church in Woodbine.

Devoted father of Alma Summerfield of Missouri, Hartsel R. Hawkins of Virginia, Vivian Davis of Georgia, Dorothy M. Tibbs of Florida, Joanne Mullineaux of South Carolina, Roger Hawkins of North Carolina, Vicki Gover of Odenton, Linda Gibson of Taneytown and the late Larry F. Hawkins and the late Darrell H. Hawkins.

Dear brother of Clarence Hawkins of Westminster and Margaret Ridgely of Eldersburg.

Also survived by 34 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be Sunday February 27, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. Fred Eckhardt officiating.

Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. on Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Taylorsville -Winfield Lions Club Memorial Service will be Saturday at 7:30 PM.

Alexander A. Bibeau 65, of Owings Mills, MD
1939 - 2005

Alexander A. “Al” Bibeau, age 65, of Owings Mills, died Sunday February 20, 2005 at his home.

He was born December 31, 1939 in Holyoke, Massachusetts, the son of the late Alexander Bibeau and the late Blanche Bibeau (nee Labonte).

He was a Senior Materials Scientist at Sweetheart/Solo Cup Co. He enjoyed Home improvement projects. He enjoyed reading, golfing and poolside get together.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 45 years, the former Kathie Kennedy Bibeau.

He is also survived by 3 sons, Alan, Richard and Kevin Bibeau; Sister Claire Thibeault, brothers Donat and Frederick Bibeau, grandchildren, Ryan, Sean, Danielle, Nicole and Alex Bibeau, as well as several nieces and nephews and loved as a grandfather by Megan and Ryan Cahill.

Joseph Anthony Zanghi 77, of Westminster, MD
1927 - 2005

Lt. Col. (Ret. US Army) Joseph Anthony Zanghi, age 77, of Westminster, Died Monday February 14, 2005 at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster, MD.

He was born September 30, 1927 in Mt. Morris, New York, the son of the late Philip Joseph Zanghi and the late Loretta Biondolillo Zanghi.

He was a retired Sales Manager for the Far East Division of International Sales for Hughes Helicopters. He served in the US Army and the US Navy. He was in Vietnam 1966-67 and 1972-1973.He received the Honorable Medal First Class (Rep. of China ), 2 honor medals, 1st Class (Rep. of V.N.), Legion of Merit; Bronze Star; participated in 2 operations Atomic Bomb Tests (1946 & 19948); served as POW Interrogator in Korea.

He attended Elders Baptist Church in Eldersburg. He was a mason and a member of DAV #22 and VFW #467 Westminster. Interests were in World Affairs, History, China.

He was the husband of Isabel Zanghi (nee Toman) married for 55 years.

He was the father of Howard F. Ferguson of Westminster and Heidi M. Peterson of Jacksonville, FL.

Dear brother of Mary Jane Gomez of Cleveland, Ohio and Anthony D’Andrea of Cleveland, Ohio.

Also survived by 5 grandchildren.

He was the son of the late Riley Lee Farver and the late Algy Farver (nee Harrison).

He was born March 3, 1920 in Woodbine, MD.

He was an Engineer at Springfield State Hospital for 30 years.

He was the husband of Margaret L. Farver (nee Atkinson), which she will be at the funeral home during the 2-4 PM visitation on Sunday.

He was the father of Donald Farver of Reisterstown and Barbara F. Owens of Sykesville.

Loving grandfather of Ryan Owens, Shawn Farver and Shannon Farver.

Funeral Service will be held Monday February 14, 2005 at 1:30 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. O.F. “Bud” Kibbe officiating.

Interment Morgan Chapel U.M. Church cemetery, Woodbine, MD.

He was born October 23, 1919 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Ferdinand Eidman and the late Gertrude Eidman (nee Reynolds).

He was a Printer for Saffron Printing Company.

He was a member of Salem U.M. Church in Hebbville.

He was the husband of Doris Saffron (nee Euler).

He was the father of Barbara L. Snyder and her late husband Ronald. Suzanne and her husband Jerry W. Linville.

Cherished 'Pop Pop' of Laurie Orfanidis, Wendy Higgins and Jon Linville and their spouses, seven great grandchildren, dear brother of Arma Martin Eirich and her family, his brother in law John C. Euler and sister in law Justine and many nieces and nephews.
