Robert Bond

BIDDEFORD - Robert Wedger Bond, 87, passed away suddenly on July 27, 2004.

He was born to Ernest Bond and Alice (Wedger) Bond in Cambridge, Mass. on April 23, 1917 and was the oldest of two boys.

He is survived by his brother, Norman Bond of New York.

He was the husband of the late Miriam (Andersen) Bond to whom he was married for 59 years. He and Miriam, resided for many years in Darien, Conn. and retired in 1986 to Biddeford, where he resided until recently. He was active and in local government and enjoyed being a member of the Biddeford Economic Development Committee and "The Old Goats" of Kennebunk.

He is survived by his two devoted children, Bruce Bond of Rochester, N.H., and Nancy Doyle and her husband Richard of Brookline, Mass.; three loving grandchildren, Justin and Sarah Bond and Darren Doyle; and 11 cherished nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Saturday at The Church on the Cape, Kennebunkport.

Donations in his memory may be made to Southern Maine Medical Center (SMMC), Attn: Development Office, PO Box 626, Biddeford, ME 04005.

Arrangements are under the care of Bibber Memorial Chapel, Kennebunk.

Donald Forsyth Sr.

MOODY - Donald K. Forsyth Sr. of Moody, formerly of Waltham, Mass. died July 30, 2004 in York, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Boston, Mass. on Nov. 7, 1929, son to Everett C. Forsyth and Ruth (Francis) Forsyth. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1949 and went on to attend The Wagner Art School of Boston. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War, while on duty he completed a World Tour.

He was employed by Raytheon Security for many years until he retired in 1986.

He and his wife Joan moved to Wells in 1992.

He enjoyed his retirement in Wells. His interests included walking his faithful dog Brittany, driving the trolley, wood working, volunteering for the Wells Chamber of Commerce, and being an active member of the Berwick Gun Club. He was also a certified NRA instructor for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan (Flentje) Forsyth of Moody; one son, Donald K. Forsyth Jr. of Sandown, N.H.; three daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Deborah) DeMichele of Framingham, Mass., Mrs. Kevin (Jill) Lepore of Waltham, Mass., and Mrs. Mark (Barbara) Bagdasarian of Waltham, Mass.; and eight grandchildren.

A celebration of life memorial service was held Tuesday at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, Wells, with the Rev. Val Vigue officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Auburn cemetery in Cambridge, Mass. at a later date.

Should friends desire, memorial donation may be made to the charity of your choice in his memory.

Judith Keeffe

KENNEBUNK - Judith A. Keeffe, 72, a resident of Intervale Road, Kennebunk, died July 31, 2004 at her home after a long illness.

She was born in Biddeford on July 10, 1932, a daughter of A. Wesley and Gladys M. (McConnell) Leech Sr. and graduated from Kennebunk High School, the class of 1950.

She joined the U.S. Army (Woman Army Corps) as Corporal at Fort Myer in Arlington, Va. and also worked at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. from 1950 to 1952.

She was employed by the Saco Lowell of Saco and the Raytheon Corporation in Waltham, Mass. for several years and her last employment was at the Portsmouth Shipyard as key punch operator and she retired in 1965.

She married Michael J. Keeffe Sr. in 1965.

During her retirement, she sold Mary Kay Cosmetics for several years.

She was a 40-year member of the Pythian Sisters, member of the Christ Church and also member of Kennebunk High School Alumni and served on the board of directors, all of Kennebunk.

She enjoyed knitting, reading, family camping trips and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Michael J. Keeffe Sr. who died in 1995 and her brothers, A. Wesley Leech Jr. and Robert Leech.

She is survived by her three sons, Bruce R. Lovett of Dover, N.H., Michael J Keeffe Jr. of Azusa, Calif., and Dennis A. Keeffe of El Segundo, Calif.; three daughters, Kathleen M. LaPointe of Kennebunk, Patricia A Kinney of Kennebunk and Deanna G. Zook of Hyattsville, Md.; one brother, Richard C. Leech of Wells; 11 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Tuesday at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, Kennebunk. Burial was in Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk.

Charles Kelley

KENNEBUNKPORT - Charles J. "Chick" Kelley (Kiela), 92, of Cape Porpoise, long-time South Shore, Mass. Resident , spent his final days at his home in Cape Porpoise surrounded by his loving family and the support of Beacon Hospice of South Portland.

He was born March 16, 1912, the son of Lithuanian immigrants Julian and Stacia. He was married to his devoted wife of 26 years Winnifred "Winnie" (Donahoe). Both were members of the Old South Union Church in Weymouth. He was active in A.A. and helped many on their road to recovery. He was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 8 and spent many summers at Camp Squanto in Plymouth. He was also a member of the National Guard in 1939-1940. He retired from Proctor and Gamble in Quincy.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Emily, Anna, Julia, Paul, John, Cecelia and Sophie.

He is survived by his loving wife Winnefred; 10 children, Richard Kelly of Brockton, Mass., Gail McKinnon of Milton, Mass., Bruce Kelly of Cumberland, R.I., Donna FitzGerald of Cape Porpoise, Lawrence FitzGerald of Portsmouth, N.H., Winnifred Adler of Marshfield, Mass., Ann Rau of Sugarhill, Ga., Cindy Houser of Coventry, Conn., Mary Smith of Naples, Fla., and Martha FitzGerald of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; 31 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. His legacy to his grandchildren was his love of kite flying and shelling with them on the beaches of Florida, Massachusetts and Maine, and his love of life "One Day at a Time."

He will be greatly missed by all his friends and loved ones.

A memorial service will be held at old South Union Congregational Church, South Weymouth, Mass. on Saturday Sept. 11, 2004 at 2 p.m. A reception will follow.

Doris Kinney

LYMAN - Doris Evelyn Kinney, 82, of Alewive Road, Lyman died late July 27, 2004 at the Southern Maine Medical Center. She was born in Orient, Maine the daughter of William and Velma (Maxell) Brown.

She attended Orient and Houlton schools and moved to southern Maine in the early 1940s.

She moved to Lyman in 1951 and has been a resident there since.

She was a member of the Golden Girls, Navy Marine Corp Relief Society, the Lyman Food Pantry and the Lyman Library. She will be fondly remembered for crocheting afghans for babies and knitting thousands of pairs of mittens that were donated to many of the churches and local charities.

She is predeceased by her husband Harry Kinney in 1979.

Survivors include four sons and their wives, William F Kinney and Sharon of Baltimore, Md., Leroy W Kinney and Doris of Lyman, Alton E. and Diana Kinney of Lyman, Barry C. and Linda Kinney of Lyman; four daughters and their spouses, Velma and Charles Hayes of Arundel, Patricia Perry of Arundel, Barbara Collins of Lisbon Falls, Grace and Jim Rike of Kittery Point; one brother, Linwood Brown of Blaine, Maine; two sisters, her twin Dorothy Carlucci of Orient, and Grace Geffert of Sayre, Pa.; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces; and a special companion Fred Anderson.

A funeral service was held Saturday at the Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, Buxton. Burial will be at the Goodwins Mills cemetery at a later date.

The family suggest that donations may be made in her memory to the Goodwin Mills Rescue, 481 Goodwin Mills Rd., Lyman ME 04002 or to the Lyman Community Library, 10 John St., Lyman, ME 04002.

Leo Guilmette

SOMERSWORTH, N.H. - Leo Paul Guilmette, 82, of West Green Street in Somersworth, died Aug. 29, 2004, at the Edgewood Center in Portsmouth, following a period of failing health.

He was born in Somersworth on Sept. 14, 1921. He and his wife currently reside in the home he was raised in, on West Green Street, he was a son of George Edward and Melina A. (LaLiberte) Guilmette. He was raised in Somersworth and attended local schools, graduating from Somersworth High School with the class of 1940. He was a three-sport athlete at Somersworth High School, where he enjoyed playing football, basketball and baseball. During his sports career at Somersworth High, from 1937 to 1940, he obtained 11 letters for consistently contributing to his teams at the highest level. This was quite an accomplishment in his day. Somersworth was blessed with many great athletes during this era, many of whom fondly recall him as an outstanding end on the football team and a talented guard on the basketball team. He was probably best known for his abilities on the baseball field. He was an integral part of his team as a swift center fielder and also a tremendous hitter; batting well over .300 during his entire baseball career. He was recently proud to be entered into the Somersworth High School Hall of Fame.

He met and on Sept. 1, 1952 married his loving wife of nearly 52 years Priscilla (Pepin) Guilmette; together they made their home in Somersworth and raised a wonderful family.

He was an active member of his community serving as an agent for Metropolitan Insurance, visiting families door to door for over thirty years, and supporting the local sports programs.

He had a special closeness to his church, St. Martin's Church in Somersworth, singing for many years in the Church Choir and with his family running the yearly penny sales.

He proudly served his country during World War II, as a member of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife of nearly 52 , Priscilla (Pepin) Guilmette of Somersworth; three daughters Michele Neumann, Anne Marie Beaudoin and her partner Larry Harris, and Claire Rheaume and her husband Glenn all of Somersworth; three sons, George and his wife Cynthia Guilmette of Berwick, and Ron Guilmette and his partner Georgia Letendre and Martin and his wife Janice Guilmette both of Somersworth, N.H.; three sisters, Constance Viel of Rollinsford, Trudie Rimbaud of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Henriette Guilmette of Somersworth; one aunt, Claire LaLiberte of Somersworth; eight grandchildren, Dale Marble, Christopher and Bryan Newman, Leanna and Eric Guilmette, Kyle and Corey Beaudoin and Kristen Rheaume; 45 nieces and nephews; and 62 great-nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday at St. Martin's Church.

Stanley Dubois

KITTERY - Stanley A. Dubois, 73, of 143 Rogers Rd., Meetinghouse Village in Kittery, died on Aug. 25, 2004 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a short period of failing health.

He was born on Oct. 19, 1930 in Boston, Mass., the son of Alfred and Blanche (Binette) Dubois. He attended Sacred Heart School for many years before going to work with his father to learn the carpentry trade, a skill he mastered and worked at for many years. In 1951 he met and on Aug. 25, 1951, married his loving wife of 53 years, an anniversary they celebrated only hours before his death. They made their first home in North Carolina, while he was in basic training at Camp Lejeune, N.C. for the United States Marine Corps. In 1954 they returned to Massachusetts where they raised their family and he completed four more years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. Following his service in the Marine Corps he joined the Army National Guard for three years, and served out the remaining time for 25 years of service with the 157th Air Refueling Wing of the ANG at Pease AFB. He worked as a carpenter for many years supporting his family. He also enjoyed service to several companies in Massachusetts, including his time with Wang Industries and AVCO, he was proud of his time spent working on the Apollo Space Craft, working on heat shield installation and following the progress of the craft very closely along with the entire nation. He also worked for nearly 10 years for the city of Lawrence Public Works Department.

They attended and were active members of Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence until their move to the seacoast a number of years ago, to be closer to their family. They have most recently enjoyed their family at St. Raphael Parish Church in Kittery.

He was a talented woodworker, making many pieces of fine furniture and enjoying any type of craft he could. He was especially talented at counted cross stitch and rug hooking, and his family and friends were the beneficiaries of his talents, many enjoying gifts he made for them. He was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan and never gave up hope for a World Series win. He also enjoyed radio controlled cars and boats.

His first love was unquestionably his family, together with his loving wife of 53 years, they enjoyed raising four wonderful daughters; he was proud of the beautiful grand and great-grandchildren that they blessed him with. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him, including his loving wife Theresa (Baillargeon) Dubois of Kittery; four daughters, Patricia and her husband Maurice Bolduc of Salem, N.H., Debora and her husband Ronald Soucie of South Berwick, Pamela and her husband Charles Jones of Portsmouth, N.H., and Julie Dubois of Kittery; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorianna Beauchemin of Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday at his church, St. Raphael Catholic Parish, on Whipple Road in Kittery, with burial following in Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Eliot. A reception at Meetinghouse Village in Kittery followed the burial.

Family flowers only; donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-2454.

Ellida Adams

LARGO, Fla. - Ellida H. Adams, 92, of Largo, Fla. died Aug. 9, 2004 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law under the care of the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. She died peacefully with her family at her side after a long illness.

She was a remarkable woman who possessed a quiet, deep faith; she was an inspiration and example to all who knew her. She had a passion for life; and dearly loved her family. She will be missed by all, but has gone to a far better place.

She was born April 21, 1912 at Lower Cape, New Brunswick, a daughter of Henry and Myrtle (Wilbur) Hawkes. She came to the Highpine area of Wells as a young girl in 1923. She lived in Ogunquit for many years and then lived in Cape Neddick until she came to Florida in 1997.

She was a former member of Ogunquit Baptist Church and Cape Neddick Baptist Church. Her most recent membership was the First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks, Largo and a member of the Kings Daughters Sunday School Class.

Her husband, Carroll E. Adams died in 1988. Together they operated Adams TV and Appliances in Ogunquit for many years. They also developed Sasanoa Shores in Cape Neddick in their retirement years. A sister, Vera Clough, died in 1992.

Surviving are one son, David Adams of Stratford, Conn.; one daughter, Anne Overholt of Largo, Fla.; one sister, Mineta Twombley of Biddeford; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday Sept. 11 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Rd., Wells.

Victoria Santos

ELIOT - Victoria Jaye Santos, 49, passed away peacefully at York Hospital surrounded by her loving family and close friends on August 27, 2004.

Born at Portsmouth Hospital Jan. 23, 1955, she was the daughter of Anthony and Jean Santos.

She is survived by one son, Robbie Sylvester of Eliot; her mother, Jean Santos of Eliot; three brothers and their children, Tony Santos and his wife Tamiko of Kittery, and their son Tony Jr., Frank Santos and his wife Andrea of Marietta Georgia and their children Taya and Nicholas, and Joseph Santos of Charlotte, N.C. and his children Joey and Sierra; her beloved feline companions Shmummy, Wheatie and Bella who gave her great comfort during her difficult illness. She also enjoyed listening to Jenny Mae play the Celtic harp. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A reception was held Sunday at the home of Jean Santos, Eliot.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the SPCA, 100 Portsmouth Ave., Stratham, NH 03885.

Arrangements are entrusted to the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home of Kittery.

Patricia Fowler

WATERVILLE - Patricia Marie Fowler, 72, a resident of Silver Street, Waterville, died Aug. 26, 2004 at Maine Medical Center in Portland surrounded by her family after a period of failing health. She was the wife of Rev. George W. Fowler.

She was born in Hillside, Md. on Oct. 25, 1931, a daughter of Joseph George and Alma Marie (Hrbek) Worthington. She attended Maryland schools and nursing school in Maryland. She was a registered nurse and was employed for several years at Mid Maine Medical Center in Waterville.

She also served with her husband in several Congregation Churches in Unity, Lincoln, and Wells.

She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph G. Worthington and a grandchild, Christian Merrill.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years of Waterville; three daughters, Rebecca Lynn Quimby and her husband Kenneth Squires of Wells, Debra Jean Smith and her husband Jeffrey of Winslow, and Christine Marie Merrill and her husband John of New Sweden; three sisters, Jean Browne and her husband John of Forestville, Md., Gloria Forsee and her husband Clyde of Bel Alton, Md., and Joyce Borandi and her husband Bernard "Barnie" of Lusby, Md.; four grandchildren, Jeffrey R. Smith Jr., Jessie Ian Quimby, Michael Eric Smith, and Matthew George Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services were held Wednesday at the Wells Congregational Church, Wells.

Should friends desire memorial donation may be made to the church in her memory.
