MARIE E. FROST

HARTLAND - Marie E. Frost, 58, died peacefully Saturday, May 16th, 2015 at her Hartland home with her family at her side following a long illness. She was born in Dexter on June 16th, 1956 the daughter of Everett F. and Marilyn B (Harris) Temple.
Marie was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting and crocheting for family and friends, She loved ‘BBQs’ and listening to Country Music.
Marie is survive by her mother and step-father Marilyn and Clifford Mc Alpine of Hudson, her daughter and husband, Stacie and Ryan Rice of Pittsfield, one brother and his wife, Terry and Polly Temple of Winterport, one sister Deanna Temple of Pittsfield, two grandchildren, Devin Gould and Cody Gould and one gt grandson Kahm Gould of Corinna. She will also be remembered by her loving companion Anthany Adams of Hartland.
Funeral Services were conducted at 2 PM on Saturday, May 23rd at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Libby Hill Road in Newport.

KATHERINE L. SICKENBERGER

DEXTER - Katherine L. Sickenberger, 87, went home to be with her Lord, May 17, 2015, surrounded by her family while at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born in Meriden, CT, February 12, 1928, the daughter of Kenneth L. and Helen D. (Mitten) Doore.
She worked as a spinner for Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna and for Guilford Industries in Newport. Later she worked for Church Goods in Pittsfield. She enjoyed singing with her children and at community events with a group of girls called the “Aging Polka Dots”.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Sickenberger, Sr.; a son, Wayne Holt shortly after birth; a brother, Kenneth Jr.; a sister, Bertha Gallant; and a step-sister, Mary Sanborn.
She is survived by a son, Danny Holt of Plymouth; 4 daughters, Sandra Snide and her husband, Jim of Parkman, Pamela Curtis and her husband, Arnold of Ripley, Lynn Bearce of Guilford, and Barbara Hatch and her husband, Jasper of Dexter; several grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Cathy Brown, who was one of her caregivers; also several great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Friday, May 22nd, 2015, at 2 PM, at the Gray cemetery in Dover-Foxcroft. Cremation arrangements by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.

DAVID F. KENNETT

PARKMAN - David F. Kennett, 67, died May 7th, 2015, at his home in Parkman. He was born in Veazie March 30, 1948, the son of Roland and Esther (Ford) Kennett.
He graduated from Bangor High School, class of 1966. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the Navy he joined the Air National Guard, where he served for over 20 years, retiring as a Master Sargent. For many years he also worked for Bangor Hydro until his retirement in 2011. David was a member of the Masons for over 20 years.
Many local people would know Dave from his retirement job at the Guilford Shell station.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Grant) Kennett of Parkman; 5 stepchildren, Tess, Tina, Tani, Bravis, and Brian; 2 sisters, Martha Gevais, and Nancy Campbell; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nephews.
At his request, no public services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements by Crosby & Neal, Guilford.

MILDRED VERNA (RICHARDSON) KIDDER

NEWPORT - Mildred Verna (Richardson) Kidder, 87, went to the arms of her Lord, after a short illness at home with her family by her side on Saturday May 9, 2015. She was born on June 29, 1927 in Town Hill, a daughter of Burnham & Bertilla (Gray) Richardson.
Mildred was a kind soul who had a love of the Lord that she would share with all she met. After attending bible college in Newport at the age of 17, she spent many years traveling as a Pentecostal evangelist up and down the East Coast in the service of the Lord.
She is survived by two loving daughters, Naomi Brinson of Bar Harbor and Raydene Brinson of Newport; a sister Lucy Stanley of Town Hill; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; special nieces and nephews, and a cousin Howard Gray of Newport.
She was predeceased by her parents; husbands, Irving Kidder and Forrest Moore; son Duane Brinson; siblings, Burnham, Jr., Cassie, Emma, Maude, Henrietta, and Priscilla.
A memorial service will be held privately with her family. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal in Newport. Those who wish may leave written tributes at www.CrosbyNeal.com

RUSSELL JOHN HOWELL

HARMONY - Russell John Howell passed away on Tuesday May 5, 2015 in Harmony, Maine where he lived with his daughter Candy and son-in-law Gerald. He was born in Lincoln, Maine on June 23, 1927, the oldest son of Manville and Alice (House) Howell.
Russ proudly served his country in the US Army at the close of WWII as an MP in Germany. He returned home to Harmony, ME where he met and married Virginia Deering on February 17, 1950. Russell worked at many garages during his life as an auto mechanic and retired from Cianbro.
Russell was predeceased by his parents Alice (House) and Manville Howell; his wife Virginia (Deering) Howell; his son William Russell Howell; his two week old infant sister, Irmine Howell; and sister, Jacqueline (Howell) Chadbourne.
Russell is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law: Candace (Candy) and Gerald Annis, and Bonita (Bonnie) and Thomas Cianchette. The lights of his life his grandchildren: Shane and Tess Annis and their children Matthew, Alissa, and Natasha. Tanya and Dale Richardson and their daughter, Jordyn. Courtney and Wayne Harvey and their children, MacKenzie, Talia, and Camryn. Amanda and Daniel Mack and their son Karlin. Jodi Howell, Russell J. Howell and his children Xavier and Hunter. Matthews' mother, Val Osborne. His brothers Garwood and Irma Howell; Delmont and Skeet Howell; his sister Donna and Bob Larson; his brother-in-law Archie Chadbourne. His special sister-in-law Louise Carr and many nieces and nephews.
At Russell's request there will be no services. Always remember the twinkle in his eye and the jig in his step.
Arrangements under the care and direction of Dan & Scott's Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan.

PENELOPE E. GRIFFIN

CORINNA - Penny Elizabeth (Beem) Griffin, 88, died peacefully May 2, 2015 at a Dexter healthcare facility with her daughter by her side. She was born January 2, 1927 in Houlton, a daughter of Lewis and Beulah (Brown) Beem. She graduated from Corinna Union Academy, Class of 1945. Penelope worked as a bookkeeper at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna until her retirement in 1981. She attended the Morses Corner Baptist Church in Corinna.
She is survived by her daughter, Marsha (Whittaker) Doherty and husband Danny of Corinna; 2 grandchildren, Tracy Wiers and husband Jeff, and Bill Doherty; 2 special great grandchildren, Reagan Wiers and Daigan Doherty. Penny’s legacy was her great love of her family. She was not only Marsha’s mother, she was her best friend.
Penelope was predeceased by her first husband, Bill Whittaker, 2nd husband, Austin Griffin, her sister Pearl and brothers Fred, Jupe and Nathaniel.
Private graveside committal services will be held at Morses Corner cemetery. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. Memorial donations may be made to the Morses Corner Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 4 White Road, Corinna, ME 04928.

ROBERT L. FOLGER

PALMYRA - Robert L. Folger, 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at his home in Palmyra.
He was born on September 16, 1935, in Somerville, Massachusetts, the son of Francis and Elizabeth (Lopes) Folger. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Marines during the Korean War.
He owned a bait and tackle shop, worked as a lobsterman and fireman after the war in Plymouth, Massachusetts. He moved to Newbury, Massachusetts in 1970.
Bob was employed for many years for the State of Massachusetts as an Environmental Police Officer. He also worked as a police officer for the town of Newbury. Bob and Ed Gundal established Coastal Hydraulics.
He was past president and an active member of the Merrimack Valley Beagle Club in Newbury. Bob retired in 1998 and moved to Palmyra, Maine, in 2005.
He was an outdoorsman: camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and bird watching. He obtained his pilot license and enjoyed flying. Bob loved his beagles and black labrador dogs. He especially loved spending time with his very special sister-in-law and best friend, Paula, as well as helping others.
Bob is survived by his wife, Donna Stolarz and sister-in-law, Paula Stolarz, of Palmyra; daughter, Caren Folger of Melbourne, Florida, and her three children, Amy Youngblood of Phoenix, Arizona, Jessica and Rob Cannon of Anchorage, Alaska and Scott and Tiffany Youngblood of Melbourne, Florida; daughter, Marcia and Richard Desrosier of Brooksville, Florida and their two children, Sara and Wally Farrell, of Weekiwachee, Florida and Andrew Desrosier of Brooksville, Florida; eight great grandchildren; brother, Joseph and Phyllis Folger of Plymouth, Massachusetts; three nephews; the Capolupo family of Newbury and Salisbury, Massachusetts; and many wonderful friends and neighbors.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Frances Folger.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield with the Rev. Laura Peckham and Tom Gilbert officiating. A committal service will immediately follow at the Mount Pleasant cemetery, Route 2, in Palmyra. All are welcome to the luncheon immediately following the committal at the St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 900 Main Street, Palmyra.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local animal shelter or to the Alzheimers Association, in Bob’s memory.
Care has been provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.

WAYNE “MICK” GARROD

NEWPORT - Wayne Michael Garrod, 57, died May 3, 2015 at his residence. He was born September 15, 1957 in Boston, MA, a son of Paul and Lillian (Quirk) Garrod.
Wayne was a tremendous father, grandfather, and a great friend to many.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (McCaul) Garrod of Newport; a son, Gregory and wife Missy Madan of PA; a daughter, Stacey and husband Kenneth Lawler of Dixmont; 2 brothers and a sister, Paul Garrod, Steven and wife Lauren Garrod, and Cheryl D’Agostino, all of MA; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.

ROLAND E. GRANDMAISON

St. Albans - Roland E. Grandmaison 75 died April 14, 2015 at his St Albans home following a long illness. He was born in Oakland Jan. 2, 1940 the son of Roland A and Hilda (Rood) Grandmaison.
Roland worked in woolen mills his entire life and for 27 years he was employed as a “fixer” at Guilford Industries in Newport. Roland loved the out doors especially while camping, fishing and hunting. He was able to go on a moose hunt last October, even though he was being treated for cancer, because of the generosity of Carl Hunt of Stacyville. He was able to harvest an over 800 pound bull moose.
Roland is survived by his wife of 28 years Joyce (Alton) Grandmaison of St. Albans, his step-mother, Beverly Grandmaison of Palmyra, two sons, Michael A Grandmaison of St. Albans, Richard Tripp of Dover-Foxcroft, three daughters, Candance Butler of St. Albans, Eugenia Nichols of St. Albans, Linda Landry of Palmyra, two brothers, Theodore Grandmaison of Oakland, Daniel Grandmaison of Norridgewock, three sisters, Theresa Boudreau of Winslow, Lori Mower of Palmyra, Pamela Bragdon of Steuben, 10 grandchildren, and a great granddaughter and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will also be remembered by a special brother-in-law and hunting partner, Robert Alton, and special family friends the Delescluse family.
He was predeceased by a brother, Richard and two sisters, Noemi, and Anna.
A Graveside Service will be held later in the spring. The date and time of the service to be announced. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center 34 High St Newport.

WALTER N. HUNT

PITTSFIELD — Walter N. Hunt, 54, died on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at his home in Pittsfield. He was born on April 3, 1961, in Farmington, Maine, the son of Weston and Donna (Crocker) Hunt. He grew up in both Albion and Burnham, graduating from Maine Central Institute with the class of 1978.
Walter was employed for many years at Ethan Allen in Burnham and A & B Building Systems in Clinton. It was one of his favorite jobs. He enjoyed stock car racing and loved listening to music. He was a great conversationalist and every story included a good joke. He will be missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by his daughter, Katie Meader and husband, Joshua, of Plymouth; grandson, Aiden Meader; siblings, Stanley Hunt and wife, Helena, of Burnham, Phillip Hunt and wife, Christine, of Mechanic Falls, Ronald Hunt and wife, Erika, of Alaska, Wanda Hunt of Derry, New Hampshire and Bradley Hunt, of Livermore Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Holly.
Care has been provided by Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, Pittsfield.
