David H. Thibodeau

WINTERPORT — David H. Thibodeau, 48, of Fisher Road, formerly of Augusta, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Bangor.

He was born in Augusta, Dec. 17, 1952, the son of Walter and Delia (Fortier) Thibodeau, and attended Augusta schools.

Mr. Thibodeau had been employed at Dysart's, in Hermon, for a few years.

He was predeceased by a brother, Marcel Thibodeau; and two sisters, Antoinette "Toni" Laliberte and Mancenette Gousse.

Mr. Thibodeau is survived by a daughter, Tabitha White, of Lewiston; a brother, Gerard L. Thibodeau, of Chelsea; three sisters, Jeanne Dale, Claudette Jordan and Carol Racine, all of Augusta; a granddaughter, Tierra Safe; an uncle, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no public visiting hours. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 5, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. Those who cannot attend the service may leave condolences on our Web site at: www.plummerfh.com/obituaries.htm

Albert C. Graham

BAILEYVILLE — Albert C. Graham, 71, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 1, 2001, at his residence.

He was born in Woodland, May 18, 1929, the son of Merton and Winifred (Bryant) Graham.

Mr. Graham was a member of Church of the Open Bible, in Alexander.

He retired from Georgia Pacific Paper Co. in the 1980s, continuing work as a gifted cabinet-maker.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marguerite (Hanson) Graham, of Baileyville; one son, Jeffrey Graham, and his wife, Yvonne, of Orrington; three daughters, Linda Shaw, and her husband, Gary, of Bathhurst, N.B., Brenda Gove, and her husband, Dickie, of Pembroke, and Paula Farrar, and her husband, Stephen, of Charlotte ; one brother, Merton C. Graham, of Rome; a sister, Rachel Eye, of Connecticut; a special sister, Loretta Tillson, of Sidney; 11 grandchildren, Laurie Pike, Peter Hunnewell, Adam Hunnewell, Terri Uruski, Kelly Richardson, Anita Doskas, Matthew Shaw, Jamie and Nathan Farrar, Ryan and Kymberly Graham; eight great-grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua and Gabriel Hunnewell, Kristie and Nathan Pyka, Paige Doskas, Lindsay Uruski and Sydney Farrar.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Calais. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at Church of the Open Bible, Alexander, with Pastor Bob Chamberland and Pastor Chip Howell officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Judith Jalbert Stetson

WOOLWICH — Judith Jalbert Stetson, 95, of Delano Road, formerly of Augusta, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Mere Point Nursing Home, Brunswick.

She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 9, 1906, the daughter of Arthur J.T. and Celina Simard Jalbert, and attended Lewiston schools. She received an elementary-level teaching certificate from Dingley Training School, of Lewiston, in 1926.

She taught in Lewiston schools from 1926 to 1927 and 1929-1930, and in Wales from 1930 to 1934.

On April 19, 1930, she married Elmer Clough Stetson, of Monmouth, in Littleton, N.H. He died in November 1976.

Mrs. Stetson enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and sewing and knitting for her friends, children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed going out with her friends and playing bingo.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by four sisters, Gertrude Martineau, Germaine Caron, Veronica Flynn, and Gabrielle Jalbert; and three brothers, Lewis, Conrad and Fernand Jalbert.

Surviving are two sons, George A. Stetson, of Fontana, Calif., and Peter H. Stetson, of Woolwich; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

At Mrs. Stetson's request, there will be no funeral. Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Lewiston.

Memorial donations may be made to Mere Point Nursing Home Activities Fund, 3184 Mere Point Road, Brunswick 04011.

Arrangements are by Mayo, Curtis and Hill Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath.

George H. Sturtevant

WINTHROP — George H. Sturtevant, 85, a resident of Highland Avenue, Winthrop, died Sunday afternoon, June 3, 2001, at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born in Winthrop, May 28, 1916, the son of George H. and Edith E. Hinds Sturtevant, and attended Winthrop schools, graduating from Winthrop High School in 1934.

On July 14, 1940, George married Barbara de la Feuilliez, in Winthrop.

George worked at Wadsworth and Woodman, later known as Inmont Industries, in Winthrop, as a custom coater.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge 25, of Winthrop, a past commander of American Legion Alfred W. Maxwell Jr. Post 40, of Winthrop, a past member of Anah Temple, of Bangor, a past member of Calais Commandery and an active member of Royal Arch, Masonic Lodge 17, of Winthrop.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Philip C. and Paul H. Sturtevant.

George is survived by two sons, Peter H., and his wife, Gail Sturtevant, of York, and Mark E., and his wife, Ellen Sturtevant, of Augusta; one daughter, Kelley B. Stevens, and her husband, Royal, of Monmouth; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service with a Masonic service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Bragdon-Finley Funeral Home, 707 Main St., Monmouth. Interment will be in Glenside Cemetery, Winthrop.

Leola May Dubreuil

FARMINGDALE — Leola May Dubreuil, 76, of Farmingdale, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at the home of her daughter following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born May 28, 1925, in Nobleboro, the daughter of Orville and Mildred (Vinal) Sidelinger.

Leola worked at Bath Iron Works during World War II, was employed more than 30 years at several local shoe factories, including Hallowell Shoe, and worked as a nurse's assistant at McGinnes Nursing Home.

Mrs. Dubreuil loved animals and was accomplished at crafts, especially crocheting.

She was a longtime member of the Nazarene Church, in Gardiner.

Leola was predeceased by two sisters, Madeline Russell and Katherine Everslage.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol Griffin Nason, of Farmingdale; a grandson, William Carl Griffin; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Stacy; a brother, Fred Sidelinger; two sisters, Lillian Rollins and Alice Tracy; and several nieces and nephews.

A service was held Friday, June 1, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, Augusta.

Jeanette S. Lewis

AUGUSTA — Jeanette S. Lewis, 86, of Augusta, died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Glenridge Drive, Augusta.

She was born in Gloucester, Mass., Aug. 8, 1914, the daughter of Howard and Emily (Durgan) Smith.

Jeanette married Garland Lewis Feb. 19, 1966. He passed away in 1977.

She was employed for 30 years by the Internal Revenue Service, in Augusta, retiring as a supervisor.

In her early years, she was an active bowler and belonged to several bowling leagues.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and three sisters, Florence S. Doucette, Edith S. Connors, and Katherine S. Davis.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary E. Mullen, of Orlando, Fla., and Margaret Seeger, and her husband, Edward, of Cincinnati, Ohio; a nephew, Howard T. Doucette, and his wife, Muriel, of South China; a niece, Elaine Casey, of Orono; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation. A memorial Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, June 15, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Western Avenue, Augusta. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Orono.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, P.O. Box 558, Augusta 04330.

Arrangements are by Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta.

Douglas D. Riebesehl

WAQUOIT, Mass. — Douglas D. Riebesehl, 40, of Waquoit died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at Boston Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Falmouth. He was the husband of Cathy A. (Falcone) Riebesehl.

Born and raised in Westchester, N.Y., he received a bachelor's degree in education from the State University of New York-Oswego. He received a master's degree from Lesley College in May 1999.

Doug was a teacher in the technology department at Falmouth High School for eight years. He especially enjoyed working with the students in graphic arts and teaching them real-life skills. He was also the owner of a small sign-making business called Sign Images.

Doug and his family spent their summers in Maine, where he helped run the family-owned cottage rental business. While in Maine, he enjoyed fishing and water sports.

Besides his wife, Doug leaves two sons, Nick and Derek Riebesehl, of Waquoit; his mother, Florence Riebesehl-Horch, of Winthrop, Maine; three brothers, Michael, of Rochester, N.Y., Gregg, of Rehobeth and Leonard, of New Rochelle, N.Y.; two nieces and a nephew; and an aunt and uncle, Ann and Arthur Smith, of western Massachusetts.

Visiting hours are 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main St., (Route 28), Falmouth Center. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, St. Patrick's Church, Main Street, Falmouth. Private burial will be in Maine.

Lucia Bolduc

AUGUSTA — Lucia Bolduc, 87, of Mount Vernon Avenue, died Friday, June 1, 2001, at her home surrounded by her family following a long illness.

She was born in St. Methode, Quebec, the daughter of Augustin and Alphonsine (Lessard) Dostie.

Mrs. Bolduc was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church and graduated from St. Augustine Catholic School. She was a life member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society, Assumption Society and St. John the Baptist Union of America Conseil Jeanne D'Arc.

She had been employed at Bates Mfg.Co.-Edwards Division for several years and Lipman Poultry Co. for five years, after which she chose to stay home and raise a family.

Mrs. Bolduc was predeceased by her husband, Joseph P. Bolduc; a son, Paul Emile Bolduc; a daughter, Germaine Bolduc Robbins; six brothers, Fernand Dostie, Eugene Dostie, Alfred Dostie, Desire Dostie, Jean Baptiste Dostie and Heliodore "Leo" Dostie; and three sisters, Medora Hamel, Alice Poulin and Jeanne D'Arc Julien.

Survivors include two sons, Phillip Bolduc, of Wayville, Mo., and Joseph P. Bolduc, of Augusta; six daughters, Marguerite Cartonio, of Portland, Gracia Julien, of Augusta, Muriel Lachance, of Southbridge, Mass., Victoria Poulin, of Augusta, Theresa Kinnie, of Hallowell, and Rachael Bernier, of Merrimac, N.H.; a granddaughter, Alice Cartonio Downer, whom Mrs. Bolduc raised as her own; a brother, Gerard Dostie, of Augusta; three sisters, Alfredine Quirion, Marie Ange Thibeau and Rose Eva Gilbert, all of Augusta; 40 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may visit 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, where members of Ladies of St. Anne Society are asked to meet at 7 p.m. Sunday for a prayer service. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Burial will follow, in St. Augustine Cemetery, Augusta. Those who wish, may leave condolences to the family on the funeral home Web site at www.plummerfh.com.

Bolduc service

AUGUSTA — A concelebrated Mass of Christian burial for Lucia Bolduc, who died Friday, June 1, 2001, was offered Monday morning, June 4, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Rev. Richard St. Cyr, pastor, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. George Hickey, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hallowell, Rev. Louise Phillips, pastor of St. Philips Catholic church, Auburn, and Rev. Gilbert Patenaude, retired, as concelebrants.

Assisting the officiants was Deacon Dean Lachance of St. Paul's Center, who read the Gospel and also the Prayer of the Faithful.

Altar servers were Jerry Rancourt and Norman Aube. Organist was David Stewart and soloist was Arthur Pare.

The first reading was given by granddaughter Nicole Poulin and the second reading was given by granddaughter Gloria Veilleux. Taking part in the Offertory procession were her two sons, Phillip Bolduc and Joseph P. Bolduc, and her daughter, Rachael Bernier. Words of Remembrance were offered by a granddaughter and Godchild, Geraldine Dow, and also by hospice volunteer, Mrs. Julie Brawn.

There were representatives from the church, Ladies of St. Anne Society, St. Paul's Center, St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Le Club Calumet, St. Agnes Circle Daughters of Isabella, Abnaki Council 334, 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, Belgrade Insurance and Real Estate, Quirion Construction, Si Gilbert Painters and Central Maine Drywall.

Honorary pallbearers representing Ladies of St. Anne Society were Mary Robichaud, Lucille Dostie, Rita Dostie, Dorothy Bolduc, Louise Quirion and Julie Brawn.

Active pallbearers, all grandsons, were Joseph Cartonio, Norman Lachance, Edward Poulin, John Kinnie, Michael Bolduc, Reginald Guay and Gerard Bolduc.

Burial was in the family lot, in St. Augustine Cemetery, Townsend Road, where Fr. St. Cyr read the committal prayers.

Arrangements were by Plummer Funeral Home, Pleasant St., Augusta.
