MARIE A. POTENZIANO
EAST MORICHES, NY AND ABBOT, ME, Marie A. Potenziano, 70, died July 3, 2001 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 5, 1930 in Hunnington, NY, daughter of Alexander and Anna (Finnizzia) Forte. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Benjamin Potenziano. Marie was dedicated to caring for her family. Everyone fortunate enough to know her was touched by her humor, warmth, and positive outlook on life. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and was an avid N.Y. Mets fan.

She is survived by her six children, Louise J. Finkle and her husband James of East Moriches, NY, Louis J. Potenziano and his wife, Jackie of Dade City, FL, Laura Auger and her husband Joseph of Abbot, ME, Lenora M. Williams and her husband Rusty of Kennebunk, Maine, Benjamin J. Potenziano and his wife Erika of Brewer, ME and Phillip Potenziano and his wife Karen of No. Yarmouth, ME; grandchildren, Louis J. Potenziano, Amanda M. Finkle, Eugene A. Finkle, Shane Priest, Owen Potenziano, Olivia Potenziano, Allie Potenziano and Benjamin J. Potenziano; three sisters, Dolores Gallo of SneadsFerry, N. C., Gilda Johnson of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY and Rose Collichio of Patchogue, NY. She will also be sadly missed by many special friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, July 6, from 7-9 PM at the Sinnickson Funeral Home, 203 Main St., Center Moriches, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 am Sat. in Center Moriches, NY, with burial in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Local arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.

GOLDIE M. WILLIAMS
NEWPORT - Goldie M. Williams, 50, died July 6, 2001 at a Bangor hospital. She was born September 17, 1950 at New York City, New York, the daughter of Goldy and Earnestine (Brown) Williams. She was employed at ICT, a subsidiary of MBNA North America. She attended the Pleasant Street Christian Church in Corinna and participated in the Central Maine cribbage tournaments. Goldie was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Lakisha and Kimberly Williams, both of Riviera Beach, FL; her companion, David Holmbom of Newport; a brother, James L. Jones of W. Palm Beach, FL; a sister, Carolyn D. Brown of W. Palm Beach, FL; 3 grandchildren, Sharhonda Williams, LaVoski Weeks and Tyrell Weeks. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Eddie and a brother, Gregory.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 8th, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport. A funeral service will be scheduled at Hilltop Baptist Church, Riviera Beach, Florida, with the Rev. Griffin Davis officiating. Memorial donationsmay be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Main Street, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.

SHIRLEY B. KNIGHT
DOVER-FOXCROFT, Shirley B. Knight, 64, died July 5, 2001 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born March 8, 1937 in Putnam, CT, daughter of Norman and Ann Nicholson) Brearley. She was a graduate of Guilford High School and of Fisher College in Boston. She worked in the financial field in Boston for 20 years and later for 20 years in Portland. She loved her camp on Whetstone Pond in Abbot and enjoyed snowmobiling and loved dogs, especially Labradors.

She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Knight of Dover-Foxcroft; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held 1 PM Wednesday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford with Rev. David McLeish officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood cemetery in Guilford. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Maine Cancer Research Foundation, P.O. Box 553, Portland, ME 04112.

MARGUERITE C. HAMILTON
DEXTER - Marguerite C. Hamilton, 85, died July 7, 2001 at a Dexter health care facility. She was born September 22, 1915 at Wellington the daughter of Roy and Addie (Carle) Davis. She was a member of the Charleston Pentecostal Church. During World War II, she was employed at Abbott Woolen Mill in Dexter "until the boys came home". She then worked at Dexter Laundry for Bud and Tilley Alvarez; Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna; and retired from Dexter Shoe Company.

She was predeceased by her Husband, Allen "Iky" Hamilton on February 10, 1998. She is survived by a son and his wife, Cecil and Lois Reed of Dexter; a daughter and husband, Glenice and Robert Leavitt, Sr. of Garland; 3 sisters, Dora Gardiner of Dexter, Opal Sinclair of Cornville, and Helen Vanderbilt of Clearwater, FL; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Linda Prouty of Corinna. She dearly loved her grandchildren, Michael, Robert, Brian and Steven Leavitt, Stacey Reed Barker and Susan Reed Page; and her great grandchildren, Mikaela, Zachery, Krystle, Spencer, Morgan, and Cameron Leavitt, Emily and Abigail Barker.

Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter, where funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Wednesday with the Rev. Ronald Libby officiating. Burial will be in the Waugh Cemetery, Levant.

GLENYS A. GRAY
SANGERVILLE - Glenys A. Gray, 70, passed away peacefully July 17, 2001 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born Feb. 19, 1931 in Parkman, daughter of Ralph and Sylvia Stevens. She lived her life devoted to her husband, kids, and family and will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Gray of Sangerville; four sons, Richard and his wife, Donna Gray of Sangerville, Kevin Gray and his fiancé Gena Gould of Dexter, Robert A. Gray Jr. and his wife Beverly of Parkman and Darrell Gray and his wife Denise of Ohio; two daughters, Glenda Irrera and her husband, Michael of New Jersey and Sandra Robinson and her husband Timothy of Garland; a sister and her husband, Thelma and Joe Bates of Guilford; ten grandchildren, (all her kiddies) Emmanuel, Eleni, Mandy, Ricky, Greggie, Jason, Stacy, Kristen, Shannon, Kayla; a very devoted niece and loving friend, Rita Henderson and her husband, Berlynn of Wellington and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant son, Henry E. Adams, and beloved son, Frederick R. Clark, USMC, a brother, Linwood and two sisters, Frances and Barbara.

Friends may call 6-8 PM Fri. at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the Sangerville Village cemetery with Rev. David Kelly officiating.

MARGARET J. COOKSON
MILO AND DEXTER, Margaret J. Cookson, 51, died July 15, 2001 at a Boston hospital. She was born Jan. 26, 1950, in Bangor, daughter of Naham and Mary (Kelley) Noyes. She worked at Dexter Shoe Co. in Dexter for 21 years.

She is survived by a stepson, William Cookson of Dexter; 2 step daughters, Kristie Cookson of Biddeford and Robin Cookson Duke of Florida; 2 nephews; and her cat Susie, whom she loved.

A Memorial service will be held Sun. July 29th at 4PM at the United Baptist Church in Milo.

HENRY "BUTCH" BUXTON
CORINNA, EXETER & DEXTER Henry E. Buxton, 63, died July 19, 2001 at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 30, 1937 at Corinna the son of Raymond and Clara (King) Buxton, Sr. He graduated from Corinna Union Academy, Class of 1956. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1956 to 1960, stationed primarily in Panama. He retired from the Dexter Shoe Company.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou (Downing) Buxton of Dexter; 1 son, Raymond Scott Buxton and his wife Tracey, of Exeter; 1 sister, Peggy Veazie and husband Keith of Portland; 1 sister-in-law, Ruth Buxton of Strong; 2 grandchildren, Travis and Erica. He was predeceased by his brother Raymond, Jr., "Eaf", his parents Raymond and Clara Buxton, and a special aunt, Kate Mullen.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Sunday, July 22nd, at North Newport Christian Church. Friends may call at the church from noon until the time of services. Burial will be in North Newport Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Main Street, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna.

PRISCILLA BINGHAM TRIPI
Las Vegas, NV- Priscilla Bingham Tripi, 36, of Las Vegas, formerly of Dexter, Maine, died July 6, 2001 after a long battle with cancer. She was born February 21, 1965 in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. She was the daughter of Robert and Charlotte Bingham of Winterport, Maine.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Salvatore Tripi, of Las Vegas; a son, Ryann, of Bangor, Maine; two daughters, Rachel and Gina, of Las Vegas; a brother, Phillip Bingham, of Indonesia; three sisters, Esther Thompson of Charleston, South Carolina, Mary Greenlaw of Garland, Maine, and Rachel Rinehimer of Allentown, Pennsylvania; several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service was held Thursday, July 12, 2001 at Calvary Apostolic Church, Winterport, Maine, with the Reverend Wilbur Strout officiating.

CELON R. SWEET
ST. ALBANS & ZEPHYRHILLS, FLA. - Celon R. Sweet, Graveside committal services for Celon R. Sweet, 90, will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, July 29th at Pittsfield Village cemetery with the Rev. Dianne Danielson officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, Corinna.

MARY L. SHARPE
CORINNA & EASTON - Mary L. (Stickney) Sharpe, 68, died July 25, 2001 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born June 15, 1933, at Easton, the daughter of Frank and Jean (Harvey) Stickney. She graduated from Easton High School, Class of 1951. She was employed for 17 years in the lab and offices of the Vahlsing Corporation in Easton until the plant closed in 1975. She then served as secretary to the superintendent for the Easton school department until her retirement in 2000. She attended the Easton Pentecostal Church. After moving to Corinna to live with her son and daughter-in-law, David and Darlene, she attended the Etna Foursquare Church.

In addition to David and Darlene of Corinna, she is also survived by a son Douglas and his wife Diane Sharpe of Windham; 2 brothers, Robert and wife Evelyn Stickney, George and wife Idell Stickney, all of Easton; 2 sisters, Audrey and husband Lester Lawrence of Mars Hill, and Glenda Hersey of Levant; 2 grandchildren, Traci Boyce of Washburn, and Brittany Sharpe of Corinna; 1 great grand-daughter, Katlyn Boyce of Washburn.

A memorial service for Mary L. Sharpe, 68, who died July 25, 2001, will be held 1 P.M. Friday, August 3rd, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, with Pastor Vasha Pierpoint of the Etna Foursquare Church officiating. Interment will be in the family lot, Nutter Cemetery, Corinna.

CLARABELLE "BELLE" (WINGATE) GUDROE
DEXTER - Clarabelle A. Gudroe, 88, went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2001 at her Residence. She was born July 20, 1913 at Corinna the daughter of Edna Mae (Burgess) Wingate and Milton M. Wingate. Belle was a graduate of Corinna Union Academy, and was the wife of the late Richard E. Gudroe, who died in 1965. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, serving as Noble Grand for 12 years. She also founded the Junior Extension group and received her 65-year plaque last year. She was a member of the First Free Baptist Church of Dexter, the Ladies Social Club, and was a member of the Golden Age Club, serving as president for 14 years.

She is survived by 3 sons, Floyd and wife Peggy Gudroe, Cecil L. Gudroe, and Keith Gudroe, all of Dexter; a sister, Ruth Hughes of Dexter; 7 grandsons; 1 grand-daughter; several great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5-7 P.M. Sunday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter, where funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Monday, July 30th, with the Rev. Harold Wheeler officiating. Burial will Be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Memorial donations may be made to Soul's Harbor, in care of the funeral home.

JEAN PAUL BOULANGER
PALMYRA - Jean Paul Boulanger, 72, died July 27, 2001 at a Pittsfield hospital following a brief illness. He was born June 6, 1929 in Spring Hill, Quebec, Canada, son of Josephat and Marie (Grenier) Boulanger. He attended schools in Canada and later became a US citizen. He was an avid wood crafter and was also employed for many years in several of the area shoe shops including Dexter Shoe, Northern Shoe in Bangor and Norridgewock Shoe Co. He worked in Conn. for several years, and at Walpole Woodworkers in Detroit. He enjoyed playing the guitar and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nathalie (Estes) Boulanger of Palmyra; three sons, Jeff and his wife Laurie Boulanger of Fairfield, Rene and his wife Diane Boulanger of Pittsfield and Randy Boulanger and his friend, Kim Flewelling of Albion; a daughter and her husband, Paula and Gregory Dore of Skowhegan; beloved grandchildren, Aaron and Brooke Boulanger, Isaac and Ashley Boulanger, Craig Dore and his wife Jennifer, Eric, Patrick, Joshua and Benjamin Dore; step grandchildren, Joseph and Daniel Basler, Michael Godfrey, Melissa and Jason Quigley; special great granddaughters, Megan and Lindsey Dore, Cassandra Mariano; a very special aunt, Evelyn Lord; three brothers, Fernand Boulanger and his friend, Marilyn of Conn., Gaston Boulanger and his wife, Monique, Real Boulanger and his wife Pauline; a sister Simone Breard and her friend, Henri, Pauline Arsenault and her husband, Bertrand, all of Canada; many beloved nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Dana Estes of Colorado, sister-in-law, Barbara Welch and her husband, Alton, and sister-in-law, Barbara Estes all of St. Albans; brother-in-law, Robert Estes and his friend, Lorraine, sister-in-law Marilyn Butler and her husband, Richard all of Hartland. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Denis and Herve and two sisters, Fernande and Marie; a grandson, Joshua, two nieces and a great nephew.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM Monday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Newport. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, 11 AM Tuesday with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Burial will be in the St. Albans Village Cemetery.

KAREN M. GREAVES
DEXTER - Karen M. Greaves, 34, died July 30, 2001 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born Sept. 6, 1966, in Dexter, daughter of Stanley and Rose (Leighton) Tenney. She graduated from Dexter High School, class of 1984 and then attended Cosmetology school. She worked as a bookkeeper for Foxcroft Veterinary Service for several years.

She is survived by her parents; her husband, John P. Greaves and 2 sons, Bryce E. Greaves and Brayden J. Greaves; a brother and his wife, Stephen and Kathy Tenney all of Dexter.

Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Dexter, with Rev Harold Wheeler officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, New England Division, Inc., One Main St., Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086-1240.

ROSALIE M. BOWMAN
ST. ALBANS, Rosalie M. Bowman, 91, died August 2, 2001, at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born October 16, 1909, in St. Albans, daughter of Wilbert and Iva (Dearborn) Folsom. She was a member of the St. Albans Grange for 71 years. She was also a member of the Matron's Circle, the Chatterbox Club, the Hartland-St. Albans Senior Citizens and attended the Grace Linn Memorial United Methodist Church in Hartland.

She is survived by a son, Philip L. Bowman and his wife, Ethelyn; five grandchildren, Kevin Bowman and his wife Susan, Brian Bowman, and David Bowman all of St. Albans, Lynnette Martin of Hartland and Barry Springer and his wife Mary of Southbury, CT; nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur "Joe" Bowman and a daughter Mary Springer.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday at the Grace Linn Memorial United Methodist Church in Hartland with Pastor Brenda Haskell officiating. Friends may call at the church from 2 PM until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Maloon cemetery in St. Albans. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Grace Linn Memorial United Methodist Church Music Fund, c/o Harlow Powers, 403 Great Moose Drive, Hartland, ME 04943. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport.

ALFRED E. ROGERS
MONSON, Alfred E. "Fred" Rogers, 72, died August 2, 2001 at his home in Monson. He was born Feb. 5, 1929 in Fall River, Mass, son of Antone and Angelina (Corriea) Rogers. He served in the US Air Force. He retired from the Bridgewater, Mass. Correctional Center after 20 years. He was a pilot and loved to fly and he also loved hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Althea (Crabtree) Starbird Rogers of Monson, a son, David Rogers of Charleston; a daughter, Linda Rogers of Fall River, Mass; three brothers, John Rogers of Freeport, Joseph Rogers of Tenn., and Daniel Rogers of Cambridge; four sisters, Laura Terrien, Evelyn Greenhalgh, Margret Rogers, and Nancy DeMello all from Mass.; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

There will be no public services. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Guilford.
