Professor William Gould (Bill) Dow, a long time resident of Ann Arbor, passed away on October 17, 1999 shortly after his 104th birthday. Services will be Monday, October 25 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 306 N. Division St., Ann Arbor, MI 48104-1497. Burial will be at Forest Hill cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Andrew's. Visitation at Muehlig Funeral Chapel on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. Arrangements are through Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 734-663-3375.

Mallion, Elaine Marie, Belleville, MI

Age 70, passed away Thursday, October 21, 1999 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was born November 25, 1928 in Ypsilanti, MI, the daughter of Delbert and Marguerite King. Elaine was a lifelong area resident who was an active member at Lincoln Community United Methodist Church. She worked in the Transportation Department at the University of Michigan, retiring after 21 years of service. For the past 10 years, Elaine enjoyed volunteering her time at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Survivors include four children, Maurice E. (Elaine) Mallion III of Manton, MI, Douglas Scott (Noreen) Mallion of Willis, MI, Marguerite Anne Mallion of Sun City, AZ and Cynthia Kay (Robert) Fowler of Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 25, 1999 at Lincoln Community United Methodist Church, 9074 Whittaker Road, Ypsilanti, MI 48197, with Rev. Walter Fenton officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Arrangements by STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel.

Ausbrooks, Maldetta, Milan, MI

Age 86, died Friday, October 22, 1999 at Riverview of Ann Arbor. She was born September 12, 1913 in Buncombe, IL to Joseph and Minnie (Campbell) Dotson. On October 29, 1937 she married Lowry Ausbrooks in Angola, IL and he preceded her in death on October 2, 1998. Mrs. Ausbrooks was a member of the Milan Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Shirley (Jerry) Zinker of Milan; three grandchildren, Michael, Julie (Dave) Paselk, and Kellee (Steve) Ware; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Marbin Dotson; two sisters, Lurla Kelly and Pauline Hester and a special niece, Helen Joyce Sharp. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan, Pastor Gordon Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Marble Park cemetery, Milan. Memorial contributions may be made to Milan Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home where friends may call on Sunday from 3-8 p.m.

Peach, Vivian, Howell, MI

Age 73, died Friday, October 22, 1999. Daughter, Vicki McDonald and son, Nick survive. Funeral Monday at 10 a.m., Lamb Funeral Home, Howell.

Tweedley, Florence, Howell, MI

Age 80, died Thursday, October 21, 1999. Daughter, Sherry Clark of Canadian Lakes, survives. Funeral Monday at 1 p.m. at the Lamb Funeral Home, Howell.

Pieske, Gerald F. Sr., Ann Arbor, MI

Age 66, died at home on Saturday morning, October 23, 1999. He was born in Ann Arbor, the son of Robert and Helen (Martin) Pieske. On October 29, 1955, he was married to Julia Ann Scott. Gerald was a life member of Bethlehem Church, Moose Lodge #1253 and had been very involved with the Junior Football League of Ann Arbor. He had also coached Youth Baseball and bowled in several leagues at Colonial Lanes. He had retired from the University of Michigan after 40 years of service. Surviving is his wife; Julia Ann, his children; Gerald (Barbara) Pieske Jr. of Ann Arbor, James (Kathy) Pieske of Ann Arbor, Evelyn (Danny) Vogel of Manchester and Timothy (Patty) Pieske of Ann Arbor. Also two brothers, Robert (Esther) Pieske of Pittsfield Twp. and Eugene (Mona) Pieske of Manchester and a sister; Mary (Oren) Inbody of Cass City, MI. and ten grandchildren. Preceding him in the death were his parents, a brother, Donald and a sister, Helen Curtis. Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Tuesday, October 26, 1999 at the NIE FUNERAL HOME, 2400 Carpenter Rd. with Rev. Phillip Scott, officiating. Burial will be in Washtenong Memorial Park. Memorial tributes may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the Nie Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday.

Dickerson, Margaret L. Dixie, Ypsilanti, MI

passed away Friday, October 22, 1999 at Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born in Poplar Bluff, MO and had been a longtime Ypsilanti resident. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ypsilanti. Dixie retired from Bendix Corp. and also from Warner Lambert Parke-Davis. On October 24, 1941, she was married to Charles Dickerson, who survives. She is also survived by her sons, C. Michael (Chris) Dickerson of Haines City, FL and Richard (Gwen) Dickerson of Ann Arbor; and four grandchildren. Memorials may be made in her name to First Baptist Church of Ypsilanti, 1110 Cross St., Ypsilanti, MI 48197 or Arbor Hospice, 2366 Oak Valley, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the NIE FUNERAL HOME, 2400 Carpenter.

Shelton, Amanda B., Warm Springs, GA

Age 71, passed away Thursday, October 21, 1999. She was born February 3, 1928 in Warm Springs, GA to Stevie and L.B. Hubbard. She leaves behind her dear husband, James B. Shelton; her two daughters, Annette Rolax and Ruthie Weaver of Ypsilanti; two sons; Chond B. Shelton of Ypsilanti and Thurman Shelton of Southfield; three sisters, Elsie Hubbard of Miami, FL, Edna Ellison of Atlanta, GA, Nettie Mae Hubbard of LaGrange, GA; one brother, L. B. Hubbard Jr. of Atlanta, GA; three brother in-laws, Frank (Irene) Shelton of Atlanta, GA, Eugene (Elizabeth) Shelton of Atlanta, GA, and Jonnie (Mary Alice) Shelton of Hampton, GA; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Stevie and L. B. Hubbard; her sister, Virginia Dunlap; and a grandson, Kirk Rolax. Family hour will be at 11 a.m. October 27, 1999. Services will begin at 12 Noon at St. Mary Mission Baptist Church, 561 Second Avenue, Ypsilanti. Burial will follow in United Memorial Garden, Plymouth. Arrangements: Lucille's Funeral Home

Ferguson, Albert Al, Ypsilanti, MI

Age 83, died Saturday, October 23, 1999. He was born February 12, 1916 in Courtland, Kansas, son of Walter I. and Lydia (Burge) Ferguson. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army on December 31, 1945, where he served in the American Theater, Asiatic-Pacific Theater with three Bronze Stars, Philippine Liberation with two Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ypsilanti. Mr. Ferguson retired from Local #324 as a Operating Engineer. Survivors include his wife Joyce A. Ferguson; four sons, Michael Ferguson and Rick Ferguson, both of Milan, Raymond Perry of Ypsilanti and John Perry of Belleville; his two daughters, Ann (Charlie) Townsend of Petersburg, MI and Rachel (Raphael) Rodgers of Ypsilanti; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandson; two sisters, Dulyce Persinger of California and Dorothy Gaston of Gibbon, Nebraska; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by two sisters. The funeral service will be Wednesday, October 27 at 12 Noon at JANOWIAK FUNERAL HOME, GEER-LOGAN CHAPEL with Pastor Donald Roe of Calvary Baptist Church Officiating. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Ferguson's memory may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Richards, James (Jamie), Pinellas Park, FL

Born April 27, 1962, he died suddenly October 22, 1999 at his residence. He was born in Dexter, MI and graduated from Dexter High School. Jamie was employed at Promo Com. Publishing Company in Pinellas Park, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, James Richards. Survivors include his wife Linda; son Dustin; and daughters Courtney of Pinellas Park, FL and Megan Nichols of Alpena, MI; three sisters, Lori Richards of Medford, NJ, Andrea Abrass of Clearwater, FL and Marie Gonzalez of Reno, NV; mother, Sharon Doletzky Abrass of Dexter and stepfather Tom Abrass of Clearwater, FL. Visitation will be held at the Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, October 27, 1999 from 3-9 p.m. with a service at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.

Hankins, Dolores "Dee" Mae, Ann Arbor, MI

Age 60, died Friday, October 22, 1999 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Dee was employed for the last seven years as a customer service representative for Wal-Mart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Oliva Gilbertson and a sister, Dorothy Moore. She is survived by husband, Harry; children, Stephanie (Allyn) Bailey, Mark (Cathy) Hankins, Shelly (Timothy) DelCampo, Chris Hankins, Scott (Jocelyn Moryc) Hankins and Chris Hankins; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan and Andrew Bailey, Stephanie, Zachary Hankins, Brianna DelCampo and Sasha Hankins. She is also survived by brothers, Andrew, Melvin, David, James, Arnold and John Gilbertson; and sister, Diane McGill. Visitation will take place at MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL, 403 S. Fourth Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48104 on Tuesday, October 26, 1999 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 27 at 12:00 p.m. at Muehlig Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Washtenong Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Huron Valley, 3100 Cherry Hill Road, AnnArbor, MI 48105.

Stoudmire, Sandra Grace, Ypsilanti, MI

Age 36, passed away October 19, 1999. She was born July 23, 1963 in Detroit, MI to William and Nadeline Marbly (Madeline) who preceded her in death in early 1990. Sandra accepted Christ in her life at an early age at Bethany Apostolic Faith Church in Romulus. She worked as a foreman for an asphalt paving company at the time of her death. She leaves to mourn her loving and devoted husband, Willie J. Stoudmire; her six beautiful sons; ten sisters; five brothers; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends. Services were held 1 p.m. Monday at New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church. Burial in Norwood Memorial Park, Canton. We Love You. You will always be in our hearts.
