Age 74, passed away Saturday, November 6, 1999 at Genesys Hospice Care Center. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, 1999 at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc with Rev. John G. Park officiating.Interment will follow in Evergreen cemetery, Grand Blanc. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. this evening, 12 noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Genesys Hospice. Mrs. Wiley was born in Flint on December 31, 1924, the daughter of Grant L. and Ardis B. Wilcox. Beth was united in marriage with James A. Rush in Flint on September 25, 1945. She then was united in marriage with Forrest Lockwood in 1966. Beth then was united in marriage with her beloved husband, William T. Wiley in Flint on August 1, 1970. Mrs. Wiley retired from GMPD and she also owned and operated Arlen Secretarial Service in downtown Flint. Survivors include: her mother, Ardis Wilcox of Flint; children, Cheri Rush and fiance Mike Wodka, both of Ann Arbor, Vicki Covington and companion Brad Wright, both of Beaverton, MI, Jim and wife Debbie Rush, Kim and wife Angela Rush, all of Flint, Kevin and wife Betty Rush of Ortonville, Jon and wife Anne-Marie Wiley of Brighton; grandchildren, Cristi and husband Tim Lamb, Jef and wife Jennifer Bates, Brian Crepeau, Stephanie Crepeau and fiance Dan Wells, Kelly Covington, Karen and husband Faron Supanich-Goldner, James JR Rush, Jennifer Rush, Taylor, Dayton and Brittan Rush, Rhiannon and Sierra Rush, Stephen Moore; great-grandchildren, Kiersti Kruzel, Diana and John Lamb, Joshua Bates, Amber and Andrew Crepeau, Cali Boshers, Rachel Supanich-Goldner; step-children, William T. Wiley II and wife Linda, Leo and wife Lynn Wiley, Sherry and husband Al McKinstry, Robert and wife Sue Wiley, Patrick Wiley; 10 step-grandchildren; one step great-granddaughter; uncle, Harold and wife Elizabeth Wilcox of Grand Blanc; special cousins from the Gafney family; and Virginia and husband Donald Bates of Flint. She was preceded in death by her father, Grant on August 18, 1988; beloved husband, William T. Wiley on January 22, 1994; daughter-in-law, Renea Wiley; and one son-in-law, Kirk Covington. Hill, Madge A., Manchester, MI

Age 93, passed away on November 6, 1999. Madge was born on June 22, 1906 the daughter of Earl & Kathryn (Housman) Throop. On November 13, 1926 she was married to Jay Hill and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1967. Madge was a past member of the Manchester United Methodist Church. She is survived by son Roger E. Hill of Ypsilanti; daughters Janet (Ted) Wilkinson of Jackson, Doris (Vernon) Herman, Marilyn Jean Walter, both of Manchester, 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; Sister Lucile (Herman) Albright of Reading, MI. She was preceded in death by one sister. At her request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Jenter-Braun Funeral Home, Manchester.

Gill, Nina M, Enumclaw, WA

(Formerly of Ann Arbor)
Age 95 passed away November 5, 1999 at Cascade House Retirement Center in Enumclaw, WA. Nina was born September 18, 1904 in Ypsilanti, MI. She is survived by Alice Gill Brynestad (Mrs. Kenneth) of Buckley, WA, and Clement C. Gill (Margo) of Ann Arbor, MI and seven grandchildren; Mark Brynestad (Susan) of Sierra Vista, AZ, Dale Brynestad (Julee) of St. Louis, MO, and Dean Brynestad (Connie) of Roland, OK, Melanie Gill Ellis (Robert) of Farmington Hills, MI, Katherine Gill St. Clair (Gregory) of Alexandria, VA, Kevin Gill of Ann Arbor, MI and Paula Gill, M.D., of Cleveland, Ohio. Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter, Barbara, in 1933. As a young child she moved with her family to Dixboro, and then after marrying moved to Ann Arbor. In 1960 she realized her lifelong dream and moved to Deerfield Beach, FL. Nina was an active member of First Methodist Church in Ann Arbor, where she was the soprano soloist for a number of years; of First Methodist Church, Deerfield Beach, FL.; and most recently was a member of Mountain View Lutheran Church in Buckley, WA. She worked for the Department of the Army during World War II, at the power plant at the University of Michigan after the war, and was a successful real estate agent in Florida. She prided herself on being an active Republican all of her life. Nina loved to travel, enjoying trips around the world and to many exotic places. She was always a leader in any group at she joined, serving as president of The Sandpipers, a social and charitable group in Florida, president of the Woman's Music Group in Florida, and a member of the gardening group at Cascade House Retirement Center. As a child she went to school on horseback; after moving to Florida she watched space flights over Cape Canaveral. She often marveled at the changes she had seen in her lifetime. Nina's long life was celebrated at a memorial service in Puyallup, WA. On Wednesday, November 10, 1999 a private graveside service will be held at Forest Hills cemetery in Ann Arbor, followed by a memorial service at 2 at Monteith Hall, First Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Michael Lindvall officiating. We will all miss her example of determination and good humor. Memorial contributions may be mad to Ann Arbor Area Foundation, 201 S. Main, Ann Arbor, MI 48104, or to the church of your choice.

Mull, Charles Whitey, Taylor, MI

Age 69, died November 6, 1999. Funeral service will be Tuesday November 9, 11 a.m. at JANIOWIAK FUNERAL HOME. The family will recieve friends today. 3:30-9 p.m.

Wilson, Geraldine Audrey, (Gerry),
passed away November 4, at Arbor Hospice, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born Geraldine Balfry in Montreal, Quebec, Canada November 25, 1923. In 1948, she married John W. Wilson and began raising a family in St. Johns, Quebec. In 1965, the family moved to Dexter, where Gerry began to working for the Dexter Schools, first as a secretary, then as Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent. When she retired in 1989, she was working with John Hansen. Although she had many interests, Gerry's passion was her children, who will miss her all the rest of their lives. Gerry was a very good friend and there will be many who will miss her. She will be lovingly missed by her children and their families; Kathy and Roger Leonard and son Tom, Leslie and Tom Ehman and daughter Meg, Tom and Diana Wilson and daughter Taylor, Terry Wilson and Adrian Bean and daughter Olivia, Jonalee and Scott Stephens. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Eileen (Lala) Balfry. Gerry's second family, Jan and Scope, Martin and Sue, Paul and Janna, Ruth, Allen, Ethel, Tom, Lynn and all the children who loved her and now will miss her. The family will take comfort in the love and support from a wealth of friends who will always remember her. Memorial Services will take place as a later date, which will be announced. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association, and Special Olympics. Arrangements by HOSMER-MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL.

Thayer, Ralph F., Ypsilanti, MI

Age 95, passed away suddenly Sunday, November 7, 1999 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He was born July 12, 1904 in Ypsilanti, MI, the son of Albert and Martha (Fuller) Thayer. On June 20, 1931, he married Evelyn Brewer in Ypsilanti and she survives. Mr. Thayer was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ypsilanti and worked for the Ypsilanti Public School System, retiring July 12, 1969. He was an avid sportsman; he loved baseball and he bowled and golfed until almost 90 years old. In addition to his loving wife, Evelyn, of 68 years, survivors include one daughter, Donna Gerbo of Ypsilanti; one son, Tom (Mary Ann) of Pinckney; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, one grandson, two sisters, and two brothers. The funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 1999 at STARK FUNERAL SERVICE Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kent Jennings of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Highland cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to either Michigan Heart Association or Michigan Cancer Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home where visitation will be from 11 a.m. Wednesday until time of service.

Wixson, Dr. Stanton E.,

Dr. Stanton E. Wixson, beloved husband of Patricia Doolittle-Wixson, age 71, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 1999. He was born in Courtland, New York, on October 30, 1928. Stanton is survived by his wife, Patricia; and six children, Gaile Furse, Linda Mahoney, Ray and Stacey Wixson, and Luke and Megan Doolittle. There are also three grandchildren, Daniel Furse, and Kiva and Shea Mahoney. Stanton loved children and was an outstanding educator. He was the Director of Special Education Services for both Willow Run Schools and Lincoln Consolidated Schools. He also taught education classes at Eastern Michigan University for many years. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 403 S. Fourth Ave., Ann Arbor, MI. Visitation will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 10. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dr. Stan Wixson Fund for underprivileged children to attend summer camp. Donations may be made to Willow Run - Kaiser Camp,Willow Run Community Schools, 2171 E. Michigan Ave, Ypsilanti, MI 48198.

Eldred, William, G., Belleville, MI

Age 73, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 1999 at home. Mr. Eldred retired from Ray Whitfield Ford - Taylor in 1992 after 35 years employment. He is survived by three sons; William C. Eldred of Belleville, Paul M. Eldred of Stockbridge and Jeffrey E. Eldred of Ypsilanti. Two stepsons John Corbin and William Corbin of Jackson; two Step-daughters Mrs. Greg (Gail) Ranes of Willis and Carol of Ypsilanti. Also ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in passing by his first wife Ellen M. (Vance) Elder in 1963 and Carole (Carter) Eldred in 1994 and one brother Harold Eldred. The funeral will be Monday, November 8, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. at Crane Funeral Home 36885 Goddard Rd. Romulus, MI (734-941-9200) with Pastor Robert C. Entwistle of Bethany Bible Church officiation. Interment Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock, MI. Friends may call at the funeral Sunday 3-8 p.m. Memorials to Heart Foundation.

Goch, Nettie, Coconut Creek, FL

Age 83, passed away on Friday,November 5, 1999. Burial was in Lakewood, NJ. Friends may call during the period of mourning, November 8-11, at the home of her daughter, Sylvia Gordon.

Slack, Harold A., Westland, MI

Age 71, died Sunday, November 7, 1999. Beloved husband of Myrtle Marie Slack. Loving father of Sharon (Frank) Lipke, Kathy Slack, Dawn Slack, Dale (Larry) Marrow, Kelly (Scott) Underwood, Janette (Robert) Groudis, Howard (Carol) Marrow, and Brian (Pam) Marrow. Dear brother of Gerald (Ethel) Slack, Verne Slack, Mary Glaser, and Ruth Bowman. Also 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation Tuesday 1-9 p.m. Services will be Wednesday 12 Noon at Vermeulen Trust 100 Funeral Home, 980 N. Newburgh, (between Ford and Cherry Hill) Westland.

Wallace, Helen W., Ypsilanti, MI

Age 94, died Monday, November 8, 1999 at Bortz Health Care of Ypsilanti following a prolonged illness. She was born July 30, 1905 in Chesaning, MI, the daughter of William H. and Beulah (Thomas) Mallery. On November 20, 1926, she married Iral C. Wallace and he preceded her in death in 1981. She graduated in 1925 from Owosso Memorial Hospital in Owosso, MI. She was baptized at the Easton Church of Christ. She and her husband moved to Ypsilanti in 1942. Survivors include one son, Iral M. (Ruth) Wallace; four grandchildren, Sherry (Theodore) Rumler of Lapeer, Daniel (Sharon) Wallace of Milan, Linda (Robert) Prevost of Ypsilanti and Dawn (Paul) Shemon of Saline; her six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by daughter, Sandra Kay in 1940; four brothers, Clayton Mallery, Clifford C. Mallery, Maynard Mallery, Gaylord Mallery; and sister, Maudie Augustine A private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements: Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel.

Wixson, Dr. Stanton E., Dr. Stanton E. Wixson, the beloved

Age 92, died at the home of nephew, Robert McGee. Loving aunt of 16 nieces and nephews. Also survived by two sisters, Lillian (Joe) Dunnabeck and Ruth (Jack) Wilhelm.
