Marguerite G. Agnew

Mrs. Marguerite G. Agnew, 93, of Fort Gratiot died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, in the Evangelical Home.

She was born June 8, 1907, in Fort Gratiot and was a life long resident. She married Harold D. Agnew He died May 6, 1987

Marguerite was a member of North Street United Methodist Church and the W.S.C.S. of the church. She was a past chairwoman of the St. Clair County Medical Center Auxiliary and a member of the St, Clair County Farm Museum.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail M. (Ron) Ackles of Fort Gratiot; her grandsons, feff (Annette) Krafft of Dalton, Ga., and Mark (Lisa) Krafft. of Hemet, Calif.; her granddaughter, Julie (Michael) Carlyle of Ortonville; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son, Clifford fames Agnew Jr.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Fred Neumann, Pastor of North Street United Methodist Church and the Rev. Gary Aupperle, pastor of Colonial Woods Missionary Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot.

Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.

Pallbearers will be Bob Jones, Ben Davey, Stew Glen, Bruen Richardson, John Shott and Jack Lamay.

Memorials may be made to North Street United Methodist Church.

Patricia M. Wickings

Patricia M. Wickings, 58, of Port Huron, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001 in her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Oct. 22, 1942 in Marysville to the late Leo and Ora (Irvine) Wessel. She married Raymond Wickings, June 17, 1961 in Port Huron.

Mrs. Wickings was a nurse's aide at Marwood Manor for 17 years. She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch, crafts, crossword puzzles, collecting angels and' shopping.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; a daughter, Helen Wickings of Port Huron; three sons, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond (Brenda) Wickings Jr. of Port Huron, Mr. and Mrs. Earl (Lori) Wickings of Marysville and Mr. and Mrs. Carl (Tammy) Wickings of Smiths Creek; nine grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey (Lee) Wessel; six sisters, Margaret Willis, Mr. and Mrs. Ken (Betty) Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Tom (Pat) Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Tom (Carolyn) Collinge, Mr. and Mrs. Tom (Sharon) Karl and Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Lois) Verone; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John (Dorothy) Goodwin; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Vansach and Leona Shagena and two brothers, Richard Jansen and Leroy Wessel.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert H. Mann of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery, Port Huron.

Pallbearers -will be Mike Rutherford, . Steve Scott, Pat Smith, Joey Duenaz, Bruce Watts and Travis Strauchman.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Marwood Manor or the American Cancer Society.

Susan J. Adams

Mrs. Susan J. Adams, 45, of Port Huron died Monday, Feb, 19, 2001, in her home surrounded by her family after a short illness.

She was born Feb. 28, 1955, in Pontiac to the late Arthur L. and Margaret Powers Danton. She married James R. Adams Sr. on Nov. 19, 1973, in Hollywood, Fla.

Mrs. Adams was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was a mental-health aide and worked with the developmentally disabled. She traveled in the summertime with the W.G. Wade and Pugh Shows carnivals.

She is survived by her husband, James, three daughters, Katherine Sue Adams and her fiancee, Clifford Lowe, Jennifer Lorena and Margaret Adams; a soil, James R. Adams Jr.; five grandchildren, Gabrielle, Katelynne, Brittany, Triston and Nikkie a brother, James A. (Cynnimon) Danton of West Chapel, Fla.; a sister, Deborah Ann Danton of Riverview, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Darlene Adams; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Deborah Joy (Terry) Voyce of Union City; several nieces and nephews; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. arid Mrs. James T. (Deloris) Fraser of Avoca.

Visitation will be at 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be I p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, Port Huron.

Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, St. Clair.

Pallbearers will be Robert Matejko, James Gray, David Michalski, Greg Brant, Brandon Harshman and Bruce Harshman.

Max F. Ankrapp

Max F. Ankrapp Jr., 73, of Columbus Township went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, after a short illness.

He was born Aug. 18, 1927, in Columbus Township to the late Max Sr. and Mabelle Caughell Ankrapp and was a lifelong area resident.

He married Marie McDonald on March 11, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio.

Mr. Ankrapp was a farmer in Columbus Township for many years. He worked for Grand Trunk Railroad, Greene Metal Products and was an Amway distributor.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marie; a son, Max Ankrapp 111; a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard (Kelly) Mills; three grandchildren, Aaron, Rachel and Ashley Mills, all of Columbus Township.; three brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle (Nina) Ankrapp of Clinton Township, Mr. and Mrs. Reynold (Margaret) Ankrapp of Port Huron and Mr. and Mrs. Franz (Dorothy) Ankrapp of Columbus Township.; two sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Joe (Janet) Maranzano and Janice Leitz, all of Columbus Township.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elizabeth Richardson; and a brother, Bobby Gene Ankrapp.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Marysville Funeral Home and on from 11 a.m. until noon-Monday in the church.

Funeral services will be noon Monday in Columbus Baptist Church. The Rev. Donald Pew and The Rev. Paul Murphrey will officiate.

Burial will be in Kittridge cemetery, Columbus Township.

Clifford A. Badley

Mr. Clifford Albert Badley, 84 of Kimball Township, died Saturday, January 13, 2001 in Rio Grand Regional Hospital, McAllen, Texas.

He was born November 14, 1916 in Roseburg, Michigan, son of the late Albert and Esther (Willey) Badley. He married Florence A. Butlin June 30, 1939 in Port Huron.

Mr. Badley retired November 1, 1978 from Detroit Edison after thirty-one years of service. He was a member Washington Avenue United Methodist Church. Mr. Badley served with the United States Coast Guard during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Florence; a son Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence A. (Roberta) Badley of Marysville; four grandsons, Mr. & Mrs. Ronald A. (Stacie) Badley, Mr. & Mrs. Jeffery L. (Jennifer) Badley, Mr. & Mrs. Scott R. (Cyntha) Badley and Greg A. Badley; six great grandchildren, Jordan Ann, Brandel, David, Joel, Justin and Jessica Badley; a sister, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas (June) Sawdon of Port Huron; two sisters-in-law, Eldora Badley and Pauline Badley, both of Port Huron; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Mr. & Mrs. Charles (Eileen) Butlin of Grosse Isle and Mr. & Mrs. Albert (Erma) Butlin of Warren and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert A. Badley on October 17, 1981, a granddaughter, Lisa Ann Badley on March 4, 1970; four brothers, Alex Badley in 1985, Kenneth Badley in 1975, Cecil Badley in 1993 and Lorne in 1995; and a sister, Isabelle Black in 1979.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 Wednesday in Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2001 in Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Susan K. Freeland of Washington Avenue United Methodist Church and his nephew, The Reverend Thomas Badley will officiate.

Burial will be in Caswell cemetery, Kimball Township.

Memorials may be made to Washington Avenue United Methodist Church.

Lyle C. Bankson

Lyle C. Bankson, 86, of Fort Gratiot died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, in Port Huron Hospital after a short illness.

He was born Nov. 1, 1914, in Port Huron to the late Edward and Myrtle Quinlan Bankson. He married Doris V Boult on Aug. 30, 1940, in Port Huron.

Mr. Bankson was a millwright with Prestolite Wire Co. He was a member of Fort Gratiot Masonic Lodge 374.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Roy (Sherry) Konik of Port Huron and Bonnie Beadle of Yale; five grandchildren, Kimberly Clark, Marti Snuggs, Michael Pollock and Timothy and Jayson Beadle; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Beulah Bankson; brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Glen (Arlene) Gottsleben; and several nieces and nephews,

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Shirley A. Barham

Shirley A. Barham, 55, of Burtchville Township died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, in Port Huron Hospital.

She was born March 3, 1945, in Port Huron and was a lifelong resident. She married George R. Barham in October 1961 in Port Huron.

Shirley enjoyed arts, crafts and flowers.

She is survived by her husband, George R. Barham of Burtchville Township; her daughter, Robin L. (Russell) Smith of Burtchville Township; her son, Robert E. (Sheila) Barham of Palms; five grandchildren; her mother, Hazel Young of Port Huron; and tier brother, Edward (Judith) Edmonds of Harbor Beach.

She was preceded in death by tier father, Ernest Edmonds Sr.; a brother, Ernest Edmonds Jr.; and her sister, Barbara Distlewrath.

A memorial service will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.

Arrangements are by the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Anthony Doan

Anthony C. Doan, age 58, of Orlando, Florida, formerly of Port Huron, died January 5, 2005 after a short illness. He was born January 6, 1946 in Port Huron, and has lived in Florida for the past 25 years.

He married Mary L. Fry on July 26, 1966 in Port Huron. He is survived by his wife Mary, 2 sons, Mark Doan and Kevin (Teresa) Doan, a grandson, Zackary Doan, and a granddaughter, Bobbi Jo Woods, all of Orlando, Florida; his sisters, Ilene Pederson, Sandra Doan, Sharon (William) Short and, Denise (Steve) Gregg; his brothers, Charles (Terri) Doan, and Gregory Doan.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford J. Doan, George Doan, and Jeffery Doan, and a sister, Nancy Kogelschatz.

The funeral service will take place at 11 AM Tuesday, January 11th, in the Smith Family Funeral Home - North, 1525 Hancock Street with Pastor Drew Mills of North Lakeport Wesleyan Church officiating. Burial will follow in Burtchville Township cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike, David, and Greg Doan, Steven and Kelly Pederson, Kenneth and Dan Duman, and Rob Pionk. Honorary pallbearers will be Zackary and Chuck Doan, Paul Denman and Brian Short.

Capt. Bernard Bennett

Capt. Bernard "Joe" Bennett, 82, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, in his home after a long illness.

He was born Oct. 11, 1918, in Corunna Ontario, and had lived here since 1937. He married Doris J. Bonin. She died May 18, 1986. Teresa A. Delaney-Bonin and Joe were married on Nov. 28, 198Z

Joe retired as a Great Lakes pilot and was a member of the Great Lakes Pilot Association. He was a founding member of St, Mary Parish.

Joe enjoyed playing euchre arid had a lifelong love of the water and watching freighters.

He loved his family and friends and will be sadly missed by everyone.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa A. Bennett of Port Huron; his son, Joseph M. Bennett of Port Huron; his daughter, M. Lynne (Edward) Jakubiak of Port Huron; his son, James R. Bennett of Port Huron; his daughters, Carol L Polack arid Stephen McCormick and Kathy (Paul) Moyer, all of Boston; his forever daughter-in-law, Teresa M. Bennett of Port Huron; his grandchildren, Scott and Bridgette Bennett, Jeff (Kathy) Jakubiak, Mike Jakubiak of Los Angeles, Kyle and Alex Polack, josh arid Bridgette Bennett, Andrew and Brian Moyer; his brother, Jack (Maxine) Bennett of Sarnia; his sisters, Ilene Wilson of Sarnia and Margaret Broaddus of Texas; his stepchildren, Dave Bonin of Port Huron, Rick (Brenda) Bonin of Texas, Gary (Tonya) Bonin of Georgia, Patti (John) Forbes of Port Huron and Susie (Bill)

Gilbert of Port Huron; step grandchildren, Stacey LePiors, Lisa, Sarah, Holly and Robin Forbes, Dave L., Jack, Emma, Jessica and Nick Bonin, and matt, Billy and Rachel Gilbert; and four step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Tom and Frank Bennett.

Funeral services will be at 10 am. Friday in Sit. Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. Stanley A. Wyczawski, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery

Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice.
