William Anglin

William Edward "Stick" Anglin, 68, of Port Huron, died Saturday, March 8, 2003 in Marwood Manor after a long illness.

He was born Feb. 24, 1935 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Arthur and Lillian Anglin.

He married Barbara Ann Zajac June 12, 1956 in Port Huron. She died Nov. 23, 1994.

Mr. Anglin was a route salesman for Wonder Bread for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion; the Moose; and was an avid sports enthusiast. He liked to bowl, golf and watch baseball.

Mr. Anglin is survived by two daughters, Dawn DeKold of Port Huron and Mr. and Mrs. Jon (Cindy) Davis of St. Clair; two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Christopher (Donita) Anglin of North Street and Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Kelly) Anglin of St. Clair; 11 grandchildren, Barry DeKold II, Christopher Anglin, Andrea Hartman, Joshua Blythe, Heather DeKold, Ryan, Taylor, Jaime, Eric, Gehrig and Tristen Anglin; one sister, Patricia Nelson; two nieces and two nephews.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. William Blount of Fellowship Baptist Church of East China will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Christopher, Taylor, Ryan and Jaime Anglin, Joshua Blythe and Steve Andrzejewski. Honorary pallbearer will be James Andrzejewski.

Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Port Huron Little League.

Evelyn Cronin

Evelyn M. Ross Cronin, 84, of Port Huron passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, in Port Huron Hospital.

She was born to August and Annie Dall on Dec. 20, 1918, in Port Huron and had lived here all of her life.

In 1936, she married Archie Ross. He passed away in 1966. She then married Nels Cronin in 1982. He died in 1987.

She is survived by daughter, Betty (Charles) Hadlock of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; her three sons, Gordon (Sue) Ross, Bob (Donna) Ross and Tom (Ellen) Ross, all of the Port Huron area; her sister, Marguerite Hux of Clarkston; 16 grandchildren; 38 great- grandchildren; 16 great-great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place.

Arrangements were by Smith Family Funeral Home-South, 1230 Seventh St.

Doris A. Coury

Doris A. Coury, 81, of Port Huron died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, in Port Huron Hospital after a long illness.

She was born Dec. 16, 1921, in Detroit, the daughter of the late Dr. Don and Gertrude Arner of Three Rivers.

She married Dr. John J. Coury in June 1945.

Doris graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and later earned a master's degree from Wayne University.

She worked as a research chemist for Standard Oil of Ohio and later as a researcher for Chrysler Engineering. She also worked with Drs. Hayden and Corrigan at the Detroit Medical Center in the pioneering deve-lopment of radioactive iodine for the treatment of thyroid diseases.

Doris was an avid bridge player, golfer and swimmer.

She enjoyed her family mostly and loved traveling. Doris and John had 57-plus years of a wonderful marriage.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. John J. Coury of Port Huron; daughter, Jane Ann (Jann) Coury of San Diego; sons, John A. (Virginia) Coury of Fort Gratiot and Dr. Thomas A. (Marisa) Coury of Fort Gratiot; granddaughter, Sarah Coury, at the University of Tennessee; grandson, Michael Coury, at the University of Rochester; granddaughter, Katherine Coury of Fort Gratiot; grandson, Jack Coury of Fort Gratiot; granddaughter, Michela Coury of Fort Gratiot; granddaughter, Fran-cesca Coury of Fort Gratiot and her sister, Jane Horstkotte of Schenectady, N.Y.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Grace Episcopal Church. The Rev. Robert P. Trask, rector, will officiate.

Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Edmund W. Fitzgerald, MD; Anthony C. Gholtz, MD; Donald A. McIntyre; Robert S. Bailey, MD; John W. Wirtz and Mervin E. Tomlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Mahmoud Chafty, MD; Walid Demashkieh, MD; Robert L. Patterson; Gerald R. Bouchard; Arthur B. Yull, MD;, Joseph A. Barss, MD;, Herbert J. Hazledine, MD; and Michael A. Basha, DO.

Visiting hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, Port Huron Hospital or Mercy Hospital.

Stella M. Armstrong

Stella M. Armstrong, 98, of Chesaning, formerly of Port Huron, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, in Chesaning Nursing Care Center after a long illness.

She was born July 14, 1904, in Elkton, and had lived here from 1951 to 1989.

She married Robert J. Armstrong. He died July 18, 1973.

Stella was a longtime parishioner and very active in St. Mary Catholic Church and its Altar Society.

She was a very devoted wife and mother.

She is survived by her daughters, Arlene M. Unterbrink of Owosso, Marguerite Pond of Germantown Hills, Ill., and Mary Ann (Edward) Peters of Apollo Beach, Fla.; her sons, Arnold R. (Louise) Armstrong of Port Huron, Raymond R. (Patricia) Armstrong of Las Vegas, Nev., and Martin (Sarah) Lobert of Ellicott City, Md.; her sister, Helene Thiel of Pigeon; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; eight great-great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Genevieve M. Speer, and a son, Elmer J. Armstrong.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary Catholic Church. Her grandson, the Rev. Richard Lobert, will officiate.

Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.

Visiting hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and from 9:15 to 10 a.m. Thursday in the church.

A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Scott Peters, Christopher Eden, Law-rence Lobert and Richard, Aaron and David Armstrong.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or the charity of the donor's choice.

Irene I. Bain

Irene I. Bain, 91, of Port Huron died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, in Port Huron Hospital.

She was born June 19, 1911, in Carsonville to the late Henry and Annie Rowert.

She married Harry Schnepp on Aug. 10, 1932, in Port Huron. He died Oct. 3, 1951.

She then married Irvin Bain on Aug. 30, 1952, in Port Huron. He died Oct. 4, 1968.

Mrs. Bain was an avid reader.

She is survived by her son, Gerald Schnepp and his wife, Kelly; seven grandchildren, Harry Schnepp and wife, Brenda, Sherry King, Nick Schnepp and wife, Cindy, Vicky Smith, Lisa Bowen and husband, Roger, Michele McCabe, and Julie Sparling and husband, Greg; 15 grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Vera Brunner and husband, and Charles and Clarice Kearney; four nieces, Jacqueline McMurray, Judith Riggin, Delores Aikins and husband, Robert, and Shelia Morrison and husband, Robert.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, DeLaine Marie Schnepp; a granddaughter, Catherine Wasmuth; and two brothers, Merle and Ross Rowert.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday in the Lakeside cemetery Chapel. The Rev. Patricia VanWormer will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Harry, Nick, Justin and Gerald Schnepp II, Robert Aikins and Greg Sparling. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Brunner and Robert Morrison. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the St. Clair County Humane Society.

Arrangements are by Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Ronald G. Armitage

Ronald G. Armitage, 52, of Detroit, formerly of Port Huron, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003.

He was born Aug. 7, 1950, in Port Huron.

He graduated from Port Huron High School and received his bachelor's degree in education from Central Michigan University and a master's degree from Wayne State University.

Mr. Armitage will be sadly missed by his family and is survived by his mother, Mrs. Delores Balmer; brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. (Debbie) Armitage of McLean, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. Amos (Luann) Armitage of Port Huron; a stepbrother, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen (Kathy) Balmer; a stepsister, Mr. and Mrs. Donald (Linda) Parker, all of Port Huron; several nieces and nephews; and many aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Robert Armitage; his step-father, Harry A. Balmer; and a stepbrother, Richard Balmer.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, until the time of service at 10 a.m. in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Ralph Pieper II of First United Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Kinney cemetery, Clyde Township.

Richard Corey

Richard E. "Joe" Corey, 60 of Fort Gratiot Township passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, in Port Huron Hospital.

He was born to Elwood and Jennie Corey on June 7, 1942, in Port Huron.

He attended Port Huron schools and graduated from Port Huron High School in 1960. He received an associate's degree from Port Huron Junior College.

On May 6, 1972, he married Gloria Gushwa.

He retired from Mueller Brass Co. in 1993 after 32 years of service.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Blue Water Sportsmen's Club, Single Action Shooting Society (SASS), and was a life member of the National Rifle Association.

He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and loved to work on his 1962 Corvette.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gloria J. Corey; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Sandra Gushwa, Jeddo; several cousins; and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2003, in Smith Family Funeral Home- North, 1525 Hancock St. The Rev. William Terry, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Lakeside cemetery.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Contributions may be made in Richard's memory to St. John's United Church of Christ.

Robert Campell

Robert A. Campbell, 82, of Port Huron, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 17, 2003.

He was born Nov. 1, 1920, in Owosso and lived here the past 48 years.

He married Elizabeth J. Tibbetts on Dec. 20, 1946, in Lansing.

Bob devoted 46 years of his life to Mueller Brass Co., retiring on March 17, 2000.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy Air Corps from 1942 to 1945.

He received his master's degrees from both Michigan State University and Wayne State University.

Bob was a member of First Congregational Church; ASTM; American Society of Metals; Alpha Chi Sigma fraternity; and BPOE 343 since 1986.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth J. Campbell of Port Huron; his son, Thomas (Connie) Campbell of Kennebunkport, Maine; his daughter, Ann (Gary) Gouin of Jeddo; his sons, John Campbell of Fort Gratiot and Mark (Denise) Campbell of Oak Park, Ill.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Jo (Chad) Vickery of Grand Ledge, Mickey (Abe) Saunto of Lansing, and Marilyn (Roger) Covert of Marquette; his sister-in-law, Marjorie Tibbetts of East Lansing; his brother-in-law, Roland (Johanna) Tibbetts of Saginaw; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law and best friend, Robert Tibbetts.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Ronald W. Smith, pastor of First Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.

Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First Congregational Church.
