Sharon Prince

Sharon (Mogg Hilligoss) Prince, 52, a resident of Ferndale for 24 years, died Monday, May 22, 2000, at her home. She was born May 21, 1948, in Detroit.

Mrs. Prince was an assembly worker at General Motors Warren Plant for 28 years and member of United Auto Workers Local 909.

She is survived by her daughters, Gracia (Terry) Brown of Algonac and Lisa Mogg of Ferndale; sons, Roger Mogg of Ferndale and Darrel Mogg of Hazel Park; stepson, Doug (Terry) Prince of Hazel Park; three grandchildren; father, Kenneth Hilligoss of Troy; sisters, Kathy Schoenrock of Hazel Park, Sandy Hilligoss of Warren, Patty (Mose) Elliott of Hazel Park, Georgia Cavill of Sterling Heights, Debbie Waskin, Brenda (Harold) Browning, Pamela Elmore, Sheila (Dave) Deason, all of Warren, and Cindy Hilligoss of Hazel Park; brothers, Ken (Donna) Hilligoss of Chesterfield Township, Gary (Cora) Hilligoss of Hazel Park and Randy (Jill) Hasty of Texas. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Prince.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Ashley-Scott Funeral Home, 340 E. Nine Mile, Hazel Park, with the Rev. Daryl Kerce officiating. Burial will be in Roseland Park cemetery, Berkley.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and 1-9 p.m. Thursday.

Raymond C. Seely

Raymond C. Seely, 75, a resident of Roseville for 45 years, died Monday, May 22, 2000, at St. John Hospital, Detroit. He was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Detroit.

Mr. Seely retired as a job setter with General Motors Powertrain, Warren and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed sports and singing. He sang at weddings, in a barbershop quartet and sang the national anthem at Tiger Stadium.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne J. (Nolet) Seely; daughters, Gretchen (Joe) Eger and Cheryl (Mark) Hacker; and son, Michael (Lynn); five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers; and three sisters.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr, Warren, with the Rev. Walter LaBatt and Rev. Robert Wollard officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery, Clinton Township.

Visitation is 1-9 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

John F. VanDosen

John Frank VanDosen, 49, of Warren, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at his home. He was born Dec. 19, 1950, in Detroit.

Mr. VanDosen was a hi-lo driver for Frank's Nursery & Crafts and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Pikos; children, Kimberly (Rob), John (Angie) and Christopher (Amy); grandchildren, Ashley, Nicole, Tiffany, Violet and Tyler; and siblings, Frances, Louise, Patricia, Harry and Richard.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Buehler Funeral Home, 26429 Gratiot, Roseville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Mary Lue Williams-Whitner

Mary Lue Williams-Whitner, 52, of Detroit and formerly of Clinton Township, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at her home. She was born Jan. 22, 1948.

Mrs. Whitner was employed by Honigman, Miller, Schwartz and Cohn law firm in Detroit, and was a graduate of Clintondale High School.

She is survived by her sons, Alan Williams, Aran Williams and Brandon Whitner; mother, Mattie Williams; sisters, Lula Thomas, Barbara Hoffman, Kimberly Hall and Traci Droske; brothers, Thomas Williams and Brian Williams, and granddaughters, Alantae Williams and Alayah Williams. She was predeceased by her father, Thomas Williams; and sister, Shirley Banks.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at United Memorial Funeral Home, 75 Dickinson St., Mount Clemens, with the Rev. James Bankston officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park cemetery, Clinton Township.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Additional visitation is noon-1 p.m. Saturday.

Vita Cassise

Vita Cassise, 81, of Clinton Township, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, in Shelby Township. She was born June, 1, 1916, in Detroit. Mrs. Cassise was retired from Ford Motor Co.

She is survived by her daughters, Nora (Richard) Socks, Linda (Terry) Lange, Charlette (Jerry) Timm and Donna Carney; siblings, Ange Cassise, Nat Biondo and Mary Lucido; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Cassise.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ronald Church, 17701 15 Mile Road, Clinton Township. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery, Clinton Township.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and 2-9 p.m. Tuesday with a 7 p.m. memorial service at 7 p.m. at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons funeral home, 36900 Schoenherr, Sterling Heights. Additional visitation is 9:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Michigan.

Ruth Klingeler

Ruth Klingeler, 82, of East China Township, died Saturday, May 20, 2000. She was born Jan. 26, 1918, in Denison, Texas.

Mrs. Klingeler was a homemaker.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Jean) Klingeler; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl; daughter, Helen Easlick; and son, Carl.

A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, with the Rev. Walter Keller officiating.

Visitation is 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 29350 Southfield Suite 110, Southfield, MI 48076.

Mark A. McNair

Mark A. McNair, 36, of Clinton Township, formerly of Madison Heights, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, in Madison Heights. He was born Feb. 8, 1964, in Detroit.

Mr. McNair was the former owner of Dance Masters (D.J. Service). He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Local 80. He is survived by his children, Hope, Keegan, Alanna and Austin McNair, all of Almont; parents, George and Rosalie McNair of Clinton Township, brother, Chad McNair of Madison Heights; and sister, Shannon (David) Stefaniak of Macomb Township.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre, Madison Heights.

Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the McNair Children Educational Fund.

Edward J. Nowakowski

Edward Joseph Nowakowski, 85, of Warren, died Saturday, May 20, 2000, at St. John Oakland Hospital, Madison Heights. He was born Aug. 5, 1914, in Alpena.

Mr. Nowakowski retired after 30 years of service from Chrysler Corp. and served in the U.S. Air Force in the South Pacific during World War II.

He is survived by his daughter, Shirley (Kenneth) Andrews; son, Kenneth Nowakowski; two grandchildren; sister, Leona Kinder; nieces, Beverly (Walter) Cygan, Gerry (George) Hood; nephews, Eugene (Arlene) Kahn and Ralph "Delbert" (Kathy) Kahn; many great-nieces and nephews; and many great-great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Otylia; and son, Lawrence.

Funeral services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr, Warren, 9:30 a.m. at St. Cletus Catholic Church, 26262 Ryan, Warren, with the Rev. Philip Briffa officiating. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery, Livonia.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and 2-9 p.m. Tuesday with a 7 p.m. rosary service in the funeral home.

Joseph F. Podgorski

Joseph F. Podgorski, 65, of Warren, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at St. John Macomb Hospital, Warren. He was born May 8, 1935, in Detroit.

Mr. Podgorski worked for 23 years in floor covering and 12 years as a bus driver for SMART. He was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 1945 in Warren and enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; son, Joseph Jr. (Shelly); daughters, Julie Miller and Jeanne (Lon) Floyd-Denny; and grandchildren, Joe, Michelle, Sara, Danielle, Johnathon, Jeremy and Dillon.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr, Warren, with the Rev. Joe Gembala officiating.

Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Tuesday with a 7 p.m. rosary at 7 p.m. recital in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Kidney Foundation.

Walter J. Preda

Walter Joseph Preda, 73, of Warren, died Friday, May 19, 2000, at St. John Macomb Hospital, Warren. He was born June 26, 1926, in Detroit.

Mr. Preda was retired from sales from the Taystee Baking Co. and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a sports fan who enjoyed birds and other small animals.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy; daughters, Kathy (Ron) Gaines, Becky (Whitey) Cafarillia, Debby (Marty) Dorda and Lisa (Don) DeStefanis; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Christian Church, 13900 Masonic, Warren. Burial will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens West, Garden City. Visitation is 11 a.m.-8 p.m. today at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr, Warren. Additional visitation is 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

L. Bruce Collins

L. Bruce Collins, 74, of Paradise and formerly a 30-year St. Clair Shores resident, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at his home. He was born Nov. 17, 1925, in Alpena.

Mr. Collins retired in 1988 from ACR Industries in Shelby Township. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed woodworking, reading and studying the Bible. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Eva; son, Patrick (Sue) of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters, Frances (Steve) Finley of Charleston, W. Va., Helen (Tom) Torrento, Christine (Mark) Soulwold and Kelly (Joe) Cusumano, all of Warren, and Tracy of Eastpointe; daughter-in-law, Denise Collins of Eastpointe; brother, Herbert of Port Huron; and sisters, Charlotte Pelton, Beverly Zauner, Joyce Hoffman and Sharon Curtis, all of Port Huron; and 18 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Norman; and parents, Lawson and Ruth Collins.

No funeral services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 711 Newberry Ave., Newberry, MI 49868. Arrangements were made by Beaulieu Funeral Home, Newberry.

Frank R. Esposito

Frank R. Esposito, 75, of Shelby Township, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at Medilodge of Sterling Heights. He was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Youngstown, Ohio.

Mr. Esposito was a retired supervisor at Chrysler and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Community Church and the Knights of Columbus St. John Paul Council. He also served as a corporal in the U.S. Marines during World War II and the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Ida Esposito; daughters, Paulette (Earl Sr.) Gloden and Frances (Jerry) Henderson; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; brother, Louis; and sister, Phyllis (Joseph) Corbi.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Community Church, 40501 Hayes, Sterling Heights, with the Rev. Lawrence Jackson officiating.

Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today with a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes, Clinton Township. Additional visitation is 10:30-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Karmanos Cancer Institute, 30464 23 Mile Road, New Baltimore, MI 48047-9926 or St. Michael Catholic Community Church.
