Cynthia B. Godin
Cynthia B. Godin, 61, of Eastpointe, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000, in Warren. She was born Jan. 14, 1939, in Detroit.
Mrs. Godin was employed for 20 years at K&K; Tool and Die.
She is survived by her children, John Godin and Deborah (Anthony) Bloor; sister-in-law, Carole Yucha; grandchildren, Ross and Jena; nieces and nephews, Carole, Steven and David; and best friend for 47 years, Elaine Tocco of Las Vegas. She was predeceased by her brother, Stanley Yucha.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in S.K. Schultz Funeral Home, 21705 Gratiot, Eastpointe, with the Rev. Drew Tomasko officiating.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Friday.
J. Donald Iafrate
J. Donald Iafrate, 52, of Macomb Township, died Monday, March 13, 2000, at Naples Community Hospital in Naples, Fla. He was born June 12, 1947, in Detroit.
Mr. Iafrate was president since 1989 and chief executive officer since 1993 of Industrial Machinery and Equipment in Warren. He received the National Defense Service Medal from the U.S. Navy. He was active in youth sports, devoting many hours to St. Clair Shores hockey and baseball teams.
He had been retired in Naples, Fla., for the last two years because of a lengthy illness.
He is survived by his wife, Georgette (nee Ostrowski); son, Anthony G. (Reda) Iafrate; daughter, Renae (Randy) Diegel; sisters, Regina (Greg) Hall and Loretta (Al) Johnson; best friends, Bob and Judy Cass and their children, Katie and Lyndsay; and grandchildren, Jonathan Lee and Nicholas Matthew. He was predeceased by his parents, Tony and Lia Iafrate.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Basil Catholic Church, 22800 Schroeder, Eastpointe, with the Rev. Thomas Physician officiating. Burial will be at Resurrection cemetery, Clinton Township.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and 3-9 p.m. Friday with an evening Scripture service at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons funeral home, 36900 Schoenherr, Sterling Heights. Additional visitation is 9:30-10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Joseph Strobl
Joseph "Joe" Strobl, 83, of Clinton Township, formerly of Detroit, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000, at Clinton-Aire Convalescent Center in Clinton Township, of pneumonia. He was born Oct. 7, 1916, in Detroit.
Mr. Strobl graduated from De La Salle High School and the University of Detroit. He was a longtime bowling proprietor who owned Ramona Lanes, Royal Lanes, 20th Century Lanes and Roll-a-While, all in Detroit. He also owned several local companies, including Park Printing, Hammond-Standish Co., and Anchor Steel. He spent his summers in the Port Huron area and was a member of the Black River Country Club and the Port Huron Golf Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Marion Strobl (nee Shoup); sons, Thomas (Kathleen) of Bloomfield Hills, James (Christine) of St. Clair Shores and William of Detroit; daughter, Betty (Williams) Wills of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law, Laura Strobl of Hudson, Fla.; brothers, John of Roseville and Jacob of Caseville; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Eva Strobl; and son, Donald.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 40501 Hayes, Sterling Heights. Interment will be at Resurrection cemetery in Clinton Township.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at A.J. Desmond and Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks, Troy, and 10-10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the De La Salle High School Scholarship Fund.
Philip J. Viviano
Philip James Viviano, 65, of Shelby Township since 1969 in William Beaumont Hospital, Troy. He was born Aug. 2, 1934, in Detroit.
Mr. Viviano owned and operated Sam Viviano & Sons Produce for 30 years with his father at the Fort Street terminal (Detroit produce terminal).
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Knights of Columbus in St. Clair Shores 3725 and St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Colette; children, Mary of Ferndale, Christina of Shelby Township and Salvatore of Shelby Township; and brothers, Peter of St. Clair Shores and Anthony of Shelby Township. He was predeceased by his parents, Sam and Mary.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Vianney Catholic Church, 54045 Schoenherr, Utica, with the Rev. Jerome Machlik officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery, Clinton Township.
Visitation is 1-9 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. rosary service at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall, Utica.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital Foundation.
Steven J. Ambrozy III
Steven J. Ambrozy III, 57, of Roseville, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, in Harrison Township. He was born Sept. 25, 1942, in Detroit.
Mr. Ambrozy owned and operated Seltron Copier Co. in St. Clair Shores from 1975 to 1996 and served in the U.S. Army Airborne. He held various offices as a member of Lutheran Fraternities of America 57 and St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eastpointe and was a member of Historic Trinity Lutheran Church in Detroit.
"He was a devoted father and grandfather, who enjoyed fishing and woodworking," a family member said.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne; children, Steven IV of Roseville, Jason (Rhonda) of Warren, Michelle of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Thomas of San Diego; mother, Frances Rivers; siblings, Raymond (Joan), Gerald T. (Faye) and Claudia (Dominic) Misuraca.
A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 23000 Gratiot, Eastpointe. Burial will be in Carp Lake Township cemetery, Carp Lake Township.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and noon-9 p.m. Friday with an 8 p.m. Lutheran Fraternities of America 57 service at S.K. Schultz Funeral Home, 21705 Gratiot, Eastpointe. Additional visitation is 11 a.m.-noon Saturday at the church.
Ronald O. Barg
Ronald O. Barg, 58, of Shelby Township, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at his home. He was born April 18, 1941, in Warren.
Mr. Barg was a retired truck driver from E&L; Development of Macomb Township. He was a member of Teamsters Local 247 for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; children, Crystal (Kevin) Brewer of Chesterfield Township, Susanne (Michael) Kandt of Mount Clemens, Rhonda Barg of Shelby Township, Donald Barg of Shelby Township and Ronald Barg of Shelby Township; grandchildren, Ryan Brewer, Kaitlin Brewer, and Steven Kandt; brothers, Milton (Catherine) Barg of Shelby Township and Charles (Sally) Barg of Chicopee Falls, Mass.; and sister, Marjorie (Norman) Marxer of Colton, Calif. He was predeceased by his son, Charles Keeney.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Diener Funeral Home, 48271 Van Dyke, Utica. Burial will be at Clinton Grove cemetery, Clinton Township.

Marie E. Geier Bright
Marie Elizabeth Geier Bright, 88, of St. Clair Shores and formerly of Mount Clemens, Sandusky and Port Sanilac, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, in Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. She was born Oct. 29, 1911, in Germany.
Mrs. Geier Bright retired in 1974 as a physical therapist from St. Joseph's Mercy of Macomb hospital.
She is survived by her children, John (Lillian) Jr. of Morristown, Tenn., Gene (Carolyn) of Boca Raton, Fla., Delores (Donald) Stiffler of Clinton Township, Jack (Tylene) of Mount Clemens and Patti Stark of St. Clair Shores; daughter-in-law, Barbara of Mount Clemens; one brother; four sisters; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold, in March 1993; grandson, Edward; and great-granddaughter, Ann Marie.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens, with the Rev. Mark Gaertner officiating. Burial will follow at Clinton Grove cemetery, Clinton Township.
Visitation is 4-9 p.m. Saturday, noon-9 p.m. Sunday and 9-11 a.m. Monday.

David Church
David Church, 64, of St. Clair Shores, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, in Mount Clemens General Hospital. He was born Oct. 28, 1935, in Detroit.
Mr. Church was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Clair Shores.
He is survived by his father, Joseph Church; brother, Peter; brother-in-law, Royal Smith; and sister-in-law, Barbara Church. He was predeceased by his mother, Daisy Church, and sister, Carolann Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Redeemer Lutheran Church, 30003 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores, with the Rev. Jack Cascione officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel cemetery, Troy.

Geraldine Comiska
Geraldine Comiska, 66, of Harrison Township, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, in her home. She was born April 9, 1933, in Hamtramck.
Mrs. Comiska is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Roberta, Michael (Sheree), Steve (Laurie), John (Terese), Larry (Antoinette), Daniel (Sharon), Howard (Gina) and Debra (Daniel) Lloyd; sister, Delphine (Roy) Darling; brothers, George (Dolly) and Richard (Nancy) Plotzke; 19 grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Wm. R. Hamilton Co. Groesbeck Chapel, 226 Crocker Blvd., Mount Clemens, with the Rev. Pasquale Lograsso officiating. Burial will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Township.

Peter Hoder
Peter Hoder, 86, of Center Line, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy. He was born Dec. 2, 1913, in Omer.
Mr. Hoder was a tool and die maker.
He is survived by his wife of over 64 years, Helen Hoder; children, Melicent (Robert) Holland of Troy and Marilyn (James) Weber of Romeo; grandchildren, Christopher Holland, Julie LeFaivre, Mary Boyer, Regina Hoder, Jason Holland, Karyn Weber and Amanda Weber; and great-grandchildren, Joshua Lask and Matthew LeFaivre. He was predeceased by his son, Reginald.
A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday at St. Clement Catholic Church, 25320 Van Dyke, Center Line. Burial will be at St. Clement cemetery in Center Line.
Visitation is noon-9 p.m. today with a 7:30 p.m. Scripture service at Rudy Funeral Home, 25650 Van Dyke, Center Line. Additional visitation is 11:30 a.m.-noon Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
Paul S. Osowski
Paul S. Osowski, 32, of Warren, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, in St. John Oakland General Hospital, Madison Heights. He was born July 10, 1967, in Detroit.
Mr. Osowski attended Wayne State University.
He is survived by his parents, John and Wanda; siblings, Susan Pennell, Michael (Mariellen), Peggy (Robert) Korody, Betty (Gary) Powell and Laura (Lyle) Reece.
