FRANK J. KREINER
Mr. Frank J. Kreiner, 91, of Mio, Michigan, formerly of Brown City, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 25, 2008 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mio.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated May 17, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in North Branch (Burnside). Interment of ashes will follow service in St. Mary’s Catholic cemetery.

EUGENE WRAY CHAPPEL (BUD)
Eugene Wray Chappel (Bud), 83 of Silverwood, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at his home in Dayton Township.
He was born January 10, 1924 in Marlette, son to the late Philip and Bernice (Congdon) Chappel.

He married Esther Grow on November 24, 1942 in Marlette.

He worked for Marlette Concrete for 40 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a member of the Clifford United Methodist Church and Marlette and Sandusky Saddle Clubs.

He enjoyed horses, watching western movies, farming, riding motor cycles and, most of all, his family.

He is survived by his wife, Esther; two sons, Wray (Fran) Chappel of Marlette and Lloyd (Terrie) Chappel of Marlette; three daughters, Joyce (Gary) Swift of Davison, Barbara (Danny) Raymond of Clifford and Evelyn (Gregory) Chorba of Silverwood; one sister, Karen Lynn (Walt) Proctor of Clifford; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Maye Gorsline and brother, Harold Chappel.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Rev. Rick Brown from the Clifford United Methodist officiating.

Memorials may be donated the Clifford Methodist Church.

Casketbearers will be his grandchildren, Shawn, Anthony, Wray Chappel, Tyson Chorba, Bradon and Shannon Groner.

Visitation will be held at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette on Tuesday from 1pm to 9pm.

EMORY F. HAAG
Emory F. Haag, 86, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Medilodge of Yale in Yale, Michigan.
He had lived in Marlette since 1938 and was previously from Loveland, Colorado. He was born April 9, 1921 in Mission, Texas, son to the late Frank and Emma (Twiehaus) Haag.

He graduated from Marlette High School in 1940.

He married Delores Kimes on June 29, 1963 in Clawson, Michigan.

Mr. Haag was a long time area farmer for many years, retiring in 1994.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling and, most of all, his family.

He is survived by his wife; Delores; son, Steven and Mary Ruth Haag of Mins, FL; sisters, June Draher of Snover and Ruth and Leigh Rich of Bradenton, Fl., also many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lester, Harvey, Floyd and Everett and sister, Violet Brooks.

Cremation has taken place at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, Michigan. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Pastor Daniel Bowman of the Marlette First United Methodist Church officiating.

Memorials may be donated to the Marlette Regional Hospital, Marlette First United Methodist Church or Medilodge of Yale.

Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette.

RONALD D. ROBISON
Ronald D. Robison, age 71, of Marlette, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2007 at the Marlette Regional Hospital.
He had lived in Marlette for 43 years and was previously from the Mayville area.

He was born March 2, 1936 in Mayville, son to the late Ward and Matilda (Weiler) Robison.

He graduated from Mayville High School in 1956.

He served his country in the U.S. Army.

He married Joyce Doherty on August 29, 1964 in Burnside Twp.

He worked as a meat cutter for A & P, I.G.A. and Bryan’s Market for over 50 years, retiring in 2000.

He was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Marlette, Knights of Columbus Imlay City Council and American Legion Post 181 in Mayville.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, camping, gambling, restoring cars and, most of all, his family.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; one son, Timothy and Lisa Robison of Marlette; two daughters, Barbara and David Wertman of Union Lake and Karen and Neal Coltson of Kingston; three brothers, Dale and Arlene Robison of Caro, Don and Carol Robison of Mayville, Bob Robison of Houston, TX, one sisters, Berneice and Donald McLane of Mayville and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Howard and Ralph and four sisters, Betty, Irene, Phyllis and Shirley.

A funeral mass was conducted on Monday, October 8, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Marlette, with Fr. Andrzej Boroch officiating.

Interment will be in the St. Mary’s cemetery in Burnside Twp.

Memorials may be donated to the American Cancer Society or Father Solanus Guild. A Rosary was conducted on Sunday night at 7 pm at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette.

LESLIE CHRIS RANDALL
Leslie C. Randall, 93, of Kingston, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Marlette Hospice Residence, Marlette.
He was born July 31, 1914 in Kingston to Nathan D. and Anna Grace (Adle) Randall. He married Irene Dulak April 3, 1937 in Pontiac. She preceded him in death on April 26, 1998.

He was a tool and die worker for General Motors for 36 years. He loved baseball and working on his farm. He enjoyed traveling and never met a stranger. He loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children: Leslie (Chris) Randall Jr. of Marietta, GA, Kirk (Margo) Randall of Keego Harbor, daughter-in-law, Jannet Randall of British Columbia; grandchildren: Jay (Wendy) Randall Jr., Suzanne (Michael) Alexis, Kelly (Joel) Baillie, Ryan (Jessica) Randall, Leslie (Geoff) Griffin, James (Whitney) Randall, Raquel (Michael) Carusello, Jessica (Kevin) LaFlamme; great grandchildren: Ryan Randall, Matthew Ali, and Andrew Alexis, Gabrielle and Jacob Carusello, Noah, Joshua, and Hayden Baillie, Kailey and Samantha Griffin, Cameron LaFlamme to be born soon; sisters: Georgeina Schemers of Vassar, Almira Cooper of Waterford and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sons; James and Jay; sisters: Mildred Reamer, Martha Hackel, Dorothy Hackel and Pernel Farnsworth.

Funeral services were conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2007 in the Kranz Funeral Home, Kingston with Rev. Douglas Richardson, United Hospice Chaplin officiating. Memorials may be made to United Hospice or Kingston Fire & Rescue. Pallbearers were grandsons: Jay Randall, Jr., Michael Alexis, Joel Baillie, Ryan Randall, Geoff Griffin, James Randall, Michael Carusello, Kevin LaFlamme. Interment was in Kingston Township cemetery.

RONALD (RON) WILLIS
Ronald (Ron) Frederic Willis, 68 of Houston, Texas passed away July 21, 2007 at the Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was born December 16, 1938 in Snover, Michigan, son to the late Robert and Beatrice (Walker) Willis.
He graduated from Marlette High School in 1957 and attended M.S.U.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.

He worked over 20 years at Ross Hill Controls, Inc. in Houston, Texas.

He enjoyed all sports, especially loved to golf, traveling, going to Las Vegas and, most of all, his family.

He is survived by his son, Ronald “Ronnie” and Tracy Willis of Trinity, Fl; daughter, MeLinda “Sis” English of Indianapolis, IN; grandson, Matthew Willis of Trinity, Fl; and sister, Marilyn McPherson of Lake Pleasant, MI.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Willis.

Cremation has taken place in Houston, Texas.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Rev. Michael Hollenbeck officiating. Burial of cremains will follow the service in the Marlette cemetery.

Memorials may be donated to the Marlette Regional Hospital.

Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service.
