ROBERT L. FOREMAN
Robert L. Foreman, 61, died on July 20, 2005 in Saginaw, MI. after battling cancer prior to his death.
He was born on August 12, 1943 in Hudson MI. son to the late Charles Foreman and Margaret Lickly.
At the time of his death he was working as a repairman in the health care industry but had also worked as a telephone installer for 40 years.
“Bob” was family oriented who always encouraged family members to do well in all that they were doing.
He served in the military as a Sargent in the Marine Corp and was honorably discharged on October 11, 1966 after receiving a Good Conduct Medal & the National Defense Service Medal.
He was married
to Kathleen on July 19, 2002 in Lapeer MI.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Sylvester), three sons, one daughter, two step-daughters, four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two brothers, & his mother-in-law Winifred.
He was preceded in death by his parents & one son.
Cremation took place in Saginaw.

ANDREW TIMOTHY BROWN
Andrew Timothy Brown, 18, of Cass City, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2005 in a car crash in Tuscola County.
He was born on February 28, 1987 in Prescott, AZ. to Timothy R. and Cheryl D. (Bastian) Brown.
He worked with his father painting and remodeling. He recently began working for Huron Castings in Pigeon. He completed his GED certification in 2004. He previously attended Cass City High School. While attending Cass City Middle School, he played football, baseball and basketball. He enjoyed playing basketball with his friends, motorcycling and snowmobiling. He loved music and wrote many songs.
He is survived by his parents, Tim and Cheryl Brown of Cass City; a brother, John Brown at home; grandparents, Ron and Joan Brown of Fenton, and William Bastian of Anaheim, CA.; great grandma, Kathryn Hansen of Gardena, CA; girlfriend, Andrea Butler of Cass City; uncles, Thomas (Linda) Brown of Ann Arbor and William Bastian 111 of Oceanside, CA. and aunts, Debra (Ronald) Jensen, Katie Schultz and Rachel Schultz. He was preceded in death by his grandma, Shirley Bastian and great-grandpa, Cliff Brown.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 29, 2005 at 3 p.m. at the Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City with Pastor Gary Butterfield of the Lamotte Missionary Church officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Family Discretionary Fund.
Interment was at Elkland Township cemetery.
ELIZABETH C. LESTER
Elizabeth C. Lester, 92, of Clifford passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at the Medilodge of Yale Nursing Home in Yale, Michigan. She had lived in Clifford since 1954 and was previously from Lewiston.
She was born April 4, 1913 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Carl and Christina (Keller) Schmidt.
She married
Arthur Lester Sr. on December 17, 1930 in North Branch, Michigan. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1992.
She is survived by a son, Arthur and June Lester Jr. of Clifford; daughters, Anna and James Geister of Marlette, Norma Jean Ahrent of North Branch and Suzanne Martinez of Clifford; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Arnold Schmidt and sisters, Annabelle Koyle, Margaret Roberts and Evelyn Gardner.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette with her grandson, Glenn Miller officiating.
Interment was at the West Burlington cemetery in Silverwood.
Memorials may be made to the Medilodge of Yale.
Casketbearers included Robert Lucas, Bryan Lucas, Kenneth Lucas, David Martinez, Doug Miller, Rob Miller, Steve Morris and Glenn Miller.
WILFRED MARSHALL FLANIGAN
Wilfred Marshall Flanigan, 86, of Lake Orion, passed away Friday, May 20, 2005 at his home in Lake Orion, Michigan.
He was born on January 24, 1919 in Port Huron, Michigan the son of the late Charles and Anna (Conley) Flanigan.
He lived in the Snover area until he was 18 -years-old, then moved to the Detroit area working as a carpenter. He then joined the U.S. Army serving his country during WWII.
After is army days, he lived in St. Clair Shores working as a carpenter, retiring in 1956. He did a lot of traveling during his retirement.
He is survived by a nephew, Carl and Pamela Hammond of Waterford and two nieces, Lois and Darrel Lotridge of Auburn Hills and Edna and David Bowman of Heartland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carlyle and a sister, Sarah Hammond.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 25, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette with Rev. Gary Butterfield officiating. Interment was in the Johnson cemetery in Snover.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or any organization of the donor’s personal choice.

WILBUR (WILLY) JONES III
Wilbur (Willy) Jones 111, 51 of Snover, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2005 at his home in Snover, Michigan.
He was born on August 4, 1953 in Sandusky, Michigan, the son of Wilbur and Betty (Billot) Jones Jr.
He was a lifelong area resident, a graduate of Sandusky High School and enjoyed riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his parents, Wilbur and Betty Jones Jr. of Snover; a brother, Michael and Tammy Jones of Snover; a sister, Sharon and Robert Hewitt of Marlette; grandfather, Joseph Billot of Snover; grandmother Virginia Jones of Snover and several nieces, and great nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City.
Memorial services were conducted Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lamotte Missionary Church, Marlette with Rev. Gary Butterfield officiating.
Memorial suggestions to Sanilac County Mental Health, the family or donor’s personal choice.

GERALDINE ELIZABETH MARTUS
Geraldine Elizabeth Martus, 80, of North Branch, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2005 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility in Lapeer, Michigan.
She was born on December 24, 1924 in Brown City, Michigan the daughter of the late Enos and Louise (Doebler) Kaufman.
She was a lifelong area resident, a graduate of North Brand High School and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Burnside. She also served as a 4-H leader.
She received her bachelors degree in teaching from Eastern Michigan University and taught for 11 years at Brown City Community Schools, retiring in 1984.
She married
Edwin J. Martus on June 1, 1946 in Burnside. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1999.
She enjoyed china painting, bird watching and cake decorating.
She is survived by five sons, Paul and Janet Martus of North Branch, Dale and Dorothy Martus of North Branch, Allen and Pam Martus of Brown City, Lee and Jill Martus of Colorado and Dennis and Brenda Martus of Brown City; six daughters, Linda Illes of Mt. Morris, Diane and Mark Williams of Brown City, Louann and Rodney Hurley of Brown City, Cindy Byce of Port Huron, Joyce and Jerry Palaszewski of Colorado and Marlene and Marty Tripp of North Branch; two brothers, Anthony and Doris Kaufman of Brown City and Douglas and Genevieve Kaufman of Brown City; a sister, Helen VanBuskirk of Brown City; 28 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Corey and Mariah.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 9, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Burnside with Fr. Richard Treml officiating. Interment was at St. Mary’s cemetery in Burnside. Casketbearers were all her grandsons.
Memorials may be made to the Lapeer County Medical Care Facility, Visiting Nurses Services, Hospice, Davison, or Lapeer County Meals On Wheels.
A parish rosary was conducted on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

VERLE ELDON MOORE
Verle Eldon Moore, 80, of Clifford, passed away Monday, May 2, 2005 at the Marlette Hospice Facility.
He was born on November 3, 1924 in Detroit, Wayne County, MI, the son of the late Amsby and Golda (Lazenby) Moore
He married
Lila Sue Reed on March 17, 1966. They divorced and there were no children born of this union.
He attended Hubert Grade School, Cass Technical High School and graduated from the commercial art curriculum in June, 1946. He was a lithographer by trade. His major interest was serving his trade organization, The Litho Club of Detroit as an officer, serving all four chairs and as President on two occasions. He was also Editor of the Litho News and also went through the chairs on the national level, known as the National Association of Litho Club Inc.
He moved from Detroit to Clifford in September, 1986.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and a brother, Leonard L. Moore.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Dorothy B. Moore of Clifford; a nephew, Richard and Lee Ann Moore of Marlette; a niece, Dorothy Joan and John Babich of Auburn, MI. and great nieces and nephews, Laura, Katie and Jessica Moore of Marlette and Andrew and Sarah Babich of Auburn.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette with Rev. John R. Allan officiating. Interment was at the Marlette cemetery.
