RALEY - William H. Raley, age 90, of Kentwood, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge since 1964, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Together with his wife, Caroline, he fostered the creation of the Royal Aires Dance Band (a Big Band that performed throughout the state from 1964 to 1972). Bill faithfully provided for his family, and in 1964 joined his brother, Dave, in business and formed Raley Brothers Manufacturers Reps. One of his greatest loves was playing golf. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Caroline, and three brothers. He is survived by his children, William Jr. (Sara) Raley, Robert Raley, James A. (Linda) Raley, Patricia Burnett; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at The Laurels of Sandy Creek, especially to Pretty Peggy, for their loving care. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 1213 - 52nd Street SE. Interment with Military Honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Bill may be given to Hospice of Michigan.

Alice (Hengeveld) Meyer, age 94, of Byron Center, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleve; an infant son, Daniel Cleve; daughter, Dawn Ewing; son-in-law, Ken Ewing; granddaughter, Beverly Smith; and great grandchildren, Moses Ewing and Grace Smith. In their retirement years, Cleve and Alice enjoyed volunteering at Cary Christian Center in Mississippi, an organization supplying medical and dental care for the poor. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ellen (Richard) Mc Connon, Paul (Shirley) Meyer, Joan (Ronald) Schrotenboer, Dar Diehl, Marilyn (Greg) De Fouw, Verna (Melvin) Rozema; daughter-in-law, Mary Ewing Clark; 29 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ruby Meyer, Pearl De Jonge; numerous nephews and nieces. The funeral and committal service will be held 11 am Monday, November 16, at Byron Center First Christian Reformed Church, 2450 85th St. SW, with Rev. Ronald Noorman and Rev. Thomas Groelsema officiating. Interment in Blain Cemetery. Contributions in honor of Alice may be made to Cary Christian Center, P.O. Box 57, Cary, MS 39054 or the American Diabetes Association, 1550 E. Beltline SE, Suite 250, Grand Rapids, MI 49506.

Kenneth J. Split, age 89, of Grand Rapids, entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Ken honorably served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Trudy; and infant daughter, Christine Lynn. He will be deeply missed by his children, Ruth and Ken Pohler, Tom Split, Laura and Casey Jen, Lynn and Mark Kloosterman; grandchildren, Steve, Jeff, and Kati Pohler, Nathan, Tim, and Becky Jen, Keith and Karrie, Joel, Anna, and Ryan Kloosterman; brother, Ray Split; sisters-in-law, Joan Split, Jeanette Miedema; brother-in-law, Gary and Delores Maliepaard; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The funeral service will be held 10:30 am Saturday, November 14, at Princeton Christian Reformed Church, 5330 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, with Rev. David Poolman officiating. Interment in Blythefield Memory Gardens. Contributions in honor of Ken may be made to Holland Home Patient Assistance Fund. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday from 5 - 8 pm at the funeral home, and Saturday prior to the service from 9:30 - 10:15 am at the church.

Wayne F. Fuller Sr.

Service: 11 am Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 at Resurrection Life

Wayne F. Fuller, Sr., age 74, of Byron Center, went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 9, 2015. Wayne worked for Oliver Machinery for 44 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Marjorie; his sons, Wayne Fuller Jr., Ken Fuller, Jeff Fuller, Ryan (Mendy) Fuller; 11 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his brother Walter Fuller; many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, November 13, at Resurrection Life, 5100 Ivanrest SW, with Pastor Dean Wheeler officiating. Interment in Solon Township Cemetery.

ELEANOR ROSE VEDRA
WYOMING, MICHIGAN
Ellie Vedra, age 8, was made perfect in Jesus on Sunday, November 29, 2015. She was preceded in death by her sister, Hannah. Ellie will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Adam and Emily Vedra; her brothers, Noah and Seth; her grandparents, Paul and Patricia Vedra, Lloyd and Crystal Osterink; many aunts, uncles, and cousins who all loved her very much. She will also be deeply missed by her friends and caregivers at Harvest Church, Pine Grove School, Community Care Givers, and by countless others who impacted her life. "We know that death is not the end, and that Ellie has victory in Christ Jesus." The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, at Harvest Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 930 52nd St. SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Dale VanDyke officiating. Interment will be in Blain Cemetery. Memorial contributions in honor of Ellie may be made to the Harvest OPC Benevolent Fund.

Marlene E. La Marr

Marlene E. LaMarr, age 89, of Kentwood, formerly of Jackson, went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 13, 2015. Marlene was born in 1925 in Metropolis, Illinois, to Lawrence and Clemmie Humes. She moved to Jackson in 1941 with her parents, and was married to the late John P. LaMarr, a WWII veteran of the Pacific Theatre. Marlene was a member of Lansing Avenue Baptist Church in Jackson, MI, until moving to Grand Rapids and attending Calvary Baptist Church in Grand Rapids. Both she and her late husband, John, were believers in Jesus Christ. They owned and operated a licensed adult foster care facility for mentally impaired young people until 2002. She always loved children, so before that, she also owned and operated a babysitting service. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and son, Michael. Surviving are her adopted son, Ronald (Deeds) LaMarr, her daughter, Diana Faye Flier (LaMarr); granddaughters, Candace, Eliza, Sabrina; and six great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held 6 pm Monday, November 16, at the funeral home. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Jackson.

Robert "Bob" Brown

Robert E. "Bob " Brown, age 77, of Stanton, MI, went home to be with his Lord and family on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2014. Bob retired from Blodgett Hospital after 20 plus years of service. He was preceded in death by his brother, William. Surviving are his son, Kevin and Tracy Brown; grandchildren, Samantha, Travis, and Taylor; a sister, Barbara and Jack Small; and close friend, Donna Jesse. There will be a memorial visitation from 4 to 6 pm on Thursday, December 4, at First Seventh Day Adventist Church, 977 N. Neff Rd., Stanton, MI 48888.

Robert Dale Vawter, age 61, of Kentwood, passed into the presence of his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, and is now at peace. Bob was very active in his church, with a heart for missions. He served in Sunshine Rotary as well as being a long time supporter of the Pregnancy Resource Center in Grand Rapids. His parents, Bob and Ila (Dygert) Vawter, and sister, Bonnie (DeHaan) Vawter preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Colleen June Vawter (Langereis); son, Peter John (Kristin) Vawter; daughter, Aimee Louise (Vawter) (Matthew) Seiler; and the great loves of his life, grandchildren, Audrey June, and Luke Matthew Seiler. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015, from 6 - 9 p.m. at Unity Reformed Church, 4450 Poinsettia SE, Kentwood, where a memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 3, with Rev. Mark Bergsma officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pregnancy Resource Center.
