Delores Lyons

SAN DIEGO, Calif.: Delores Lyons, age 64, of San Diego, Calif., formerly of Adrian, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Riverside Kaiser Hospital in Riverside, Calif.

She was born March 12, 1937, to Lorraine Bliesner (Hackney) and Robert Lyons.

She is survived by one son, Bob (Diane) Archer of Midland; three daughters, Kim Good and Karen Mercer, both of San Diego, and Fawnette Honeycott of Norfolk, Va.; two brothers, Charles (Janet) Lyons of Jackson, Patrick (Beverly) Lyons of West Bloomfield; one sister, Catherine (Tom) Hamilton of Tecumseh, eight grandchildren, five nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one nephew.

A memorial service will be held at Harmony Grove Church in San Diego and a private service will be held in Adrian at a later date.

Richard E. Wiggins

LEESBURG, Fla.: Richard E. Wiggins, 74, of Leesburg, Fla., died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001.

Born in Britton, Mich., he graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in business administration. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Richard worked for many years as the manager of an auto parts manufacturing plant and as a human resources manager for the Macomb, Ill., newspaper. He moved to Florida from Macomb, Ill., in 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Wiggins of Leesburg, Fla.; two daughters, Pamela J. Szewczyk of Peoria, Ill., and Mary A. Knox of Galesburg, Ill.; one sister, Virginia F. Mayfield of Reno, Nev., and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy L. Baldwin in June 1986.

Funeral arrangements were in charge of Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory, Leesburg, Fla.

Dean Euler Frank

WAUSEON, Ohio: Dean Euler Frank, age 68, of Wauseon, Ohio, formerly of the Clayton-Hudson area, passed away Nov. 7, 2001.

Dean was a lifelong farmer and served during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force. Born May 26, 1933, he was the son of H Leon and Florence (Euler) Frank. He excelled in sports at both Liberty Center, Ohio, and Hudson high schools.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three sons; one daughter; his mother; four sisters, Rosalyn of New York, Renita of Florida, Mary Lou of Arkansas and Beverly (Sam) Baughey of Tecumseh; two brothers, Irvin Frank of Wauseon, Wayne (Jane Mordenski) Frank of Willis, Mich., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Glenn.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Edgar Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, with burial in Winameg cemetery. Visitation is today, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Doris A. "Dori" Dennis

ADRIAN: Doris A. "Dori" Dennis, 85, of Adrian, went to be with her loving husband of 61 years, Denny, on Nov. 6, 2001.

Funeral services for Doris will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at the Braun Everiss Wagley Funeral Home with Dr. Edmund Burkey officiating. Burial will follow at Palmyra cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home on Friday, from 3 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Doris's name are suggested to Mooseheart. Envelopes are available at the Braun Everiss Wagley Funeral Home.

Sister Marie Ouelette, O.P.

ADRIAN: Sister Marie Ouelette, age 80, of the Adrian Dominican Sisters, died today, Nov. 9, 2001, at the Dominican Life Center. Arrangements are pending at Anderson Funeral Home. A full obituary will be published in Saturday's edition of The Daily Telegram.

Julie "J.T." Theisen

ADRIAN: Julie "J.T." Theisen, age 40, of Adrian, died today, Nov. 9, 2001, at her home. Funeral arrangements are pending with Anderson Funeral Home.

Laura Jane (DuShane) Rondeau

ADRIAN: Laura Jane (DuShane) Rondeau, age 42, of Adrian, went to be with her Lord after a long battle with cancer on Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at her home.

She was born Aug. 7, 1961, in Adrian, to Lawrence N. (Larry) and Marjorie E. (Sayler) DuShane. On Feb. 18, 1985, Laura married Will L. Rondeau in Adrian, and he survives.

The funeral service for Laura will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Vance Weeks and the Rev. Dale Chryst officiating. Interment will be in Raisin Valley cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Hudson Schools Lenawee's Child or the charity of the donor's choice. Envelopes are available at Anderson Funeral Home.

Edwin "Jeff" Jeffrey

HUDSON: Edwin "Jeff" Jeffrey, age 77, of Hudson, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Pittsford Township, the son of Leon H. and Hazel L. (Harris) Jeffrey. He lived most of his life in the Hudson area. Jeff married Leona "Fuzzy" Gibbs on Nov. 21, 1953, in Angola, Ind. She survives. He was a military man, serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jeff worked at Jackson State Prison, Tecumseh Products and his own business, Jeff's Heating and Cooling. He retired in 1987. His hobbies included racing, camping and crafts. He was a member of The National Campers and Hikers Association and the Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving besides his wife, Leona, are their children, Brenda and Jack Rogers of Hudson, Debbie and John Frolich of Addison, Leon Jeffrey of Hudson, Linda and John Emmons of Munith, Connie and Steve Curtis of Hudson, Scott and Shelley Jeffrey of Tecumseh; 26 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Fleming of Hudson and Elizabeth and James Shewman of Florida, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Jeffrey; son, Edwin Jeffrey, Jr.; parents, brother, Lyle Jeffrey; sister, Doris Pifer; grandchildren, Jessica, Leslie, Matthew and Logan.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Robert Lewis officiating. Full Military Rites will be performed by the Hannan-Colvin Post #180 American Legion of Hudson. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Lenawee, Disabled American Veterans or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Heidi Ann Schlatter-Auito

BROOKLYN: Heidi Ann Schlatter-Auito, 47, of Brooklyn, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Arbor Hosplce of complications as a result of an automobile accident.

She was born Sept. 24, 1955, in Perrysburg, Ohio, the daughter of Herman and Nancy (McCord) Schlatter

Heidi had been a resident of the area for the past 15 years. She had been employed as a physical therapist at Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio, and Carter Rehabilitation Center in Tecumseh. Heidi loved her family, her work, boating and the great outdoors.

Heidi is survived by two daughters, Megan and Sonja Halsey of Tecumseh; three brothers, Marc Schlatter of Grand Rapids, David Schlatter of Louisiana and Fred Schlatter of San Francisco; two sisters, Fran Schlatter of San Francõsco and Judy Schlatter of Sacramento, and her special dog, Max. She was preceded in death by her parents.

At Heidi's request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the Tecumseh Church of Christ at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, with Pastor Thomas Hawkins officiating. Friends may call at the Tecumseh Chapel of Couture-Handler Funeral Homes on Thursday, Aug. 21, from 5-7 p.m. and again at the church from 10 a.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice.

Leota P. Scott

TECUMSEH: Leota P. Scott, 84, formerly of Belington, W.Va., died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Don Kittle, in Tecumseh under the care of Hospice.

She was born Dec. 3, 1918, in Belington, daughter of the late Isaac McCallen and Minnie Mae (Kramer) Price. On June 20, 1937, she married James Earl Scott in Philippi, W.Va. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1979.

Mrs. Scott is survived by two daughters, Katheryn "Katy" (Lurraine) Myers of Monroe Falls, Ohio, and Glorõa (Donald) Kittle of Tecumseh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James Augustus Scott; one sister, Okaretta Moore; one brother, Harry Price, and one granddaughter, Patricia Ann Myers.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, D. Gregory (Sue) Kittle of Vesurius, Va., Timothy E. (Lily) Kittle of Clinton, Mich., James R. Kittle of Tecumseh, Mich., Tracy (Mark) Grund of Tallmadge, Ohio, Lucinda "Cindy" (Glen) King of Uniontown Ohio, and she was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren, Jennie Kittle of Virginia Beach, Va., Noah Kittle of Tecumseh, Samantha, Quincy and Hallie Kittle, Nathan and Casey Kelly of Tecumseh, Justin, Megan, Michael, Anna and Emma Grund of Tallmadge, Ohio; and Shelby King of Uniontown, Ohio. She also has two nephews, Dr. H. Donald (Eve) Price of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Victor (Pam) Moore of Poseyville, Ind.

Mrs. Scott was a member of the United Methodist Church of Belington. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.

Services will be held in Belington, W.Va., at the Schoonover-Stemple Funeral Home. Local arrangements were by the Couture-Handler Funeral Homes.

Erna Ida Lena Smith

ADRIAN -- Erna Ida Lena Smith, age 97, of Adrian, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.

She was born Sept. 20, 1907, in Adrian to Carl Johann Joachim and Ida Augusta (Ulrich) Schmidt. She graduated from Adrian High School in 1926. On July 18, 1930, she married E. Burge Smith. He preceded her in death in January 1940. Erna had been employed by Michigan Producers Dairy Company for more than 30 years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, Tabea Society and the Ladies Wednesday Morning Bible Study.

Her survivors include a son, Burge C. Smith and his wife, Beverly, of Georgetown, Texas; a daughter, Carol Roback and her husband, Roger, of Adrian; six grandchildren, Crystal Boon, Clinton and Stephen Smith, Dean, Dale and Eric Roback; and seven great-grandchildren, Nathan, Rachel, Crystal, Seth, Charlotte, Davelle and Christian. In addition to her husband, E. Burge Smith, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a half brother, Frank Schmidt.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel Sarrault officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church. Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home.

Edward Dean Briggs

ADRIAN -- Edward Dean Briggs, age 58, of Adrian, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at Bixby Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 20, 1946, in Detroit, the son of Dean and Josephine (Schultz) Briggs. On Sept. 18, 1982, he married Debra Dewey and she survives. Edward served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1969, the National Guard from 1975-1989 and the Army Reserves from 1989-1999.

He was a long time employee of the City of Adrian Waste Water Plant. Edward was a member of several clubs and organizations, including the Deerfield American Legion Post #392, the Lenawee County Conservation League, where he was past Pistol Chairman; the Tri-City Pistol League and the Toledo 30 Caliber Rifle League.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Connie Bennett of Adrian; his mother-in-law, Alice Dewey of Adrian; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Sue Prince, Leon and Judy Dewey, Jerry and Betsy Dewey, Karl and Gloria Stocks, and Marlene Monday and David Scott; many nieces, nephews and friends and his furry companion, Pete.

Funeral services for Edward will be held Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at 1 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home with Father Thomas Helfrich officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Deerfield American Legion Post #392. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lenawee Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home.

Bertha M. Marks

BRITTON -- Bertha M. Marks, 80, formerly of Britton, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at Tecumseh Place in Tecumseh.

She was born on Feb. 28, 1924, in Blissfield, Mich., the daughter of William and Ida (Ott) Tiede. On July 19, 1942, she was married to Leslie Marks. He preceded her in death in 1982.

Bertha devoted her life to taking care of her family and home and was also a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Palmyra. She will be sadly missed by her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters, Ann (Paul) Goetz of Blissfield and Nancy (Ronald) Benzler of Adrian; four grandchildren, Suzette (Keith) Brown, Heidi (Charles) Emerson, Holly (fianc/, Brian Aulph) Benzler and Scott (Mindy) Benzler; two great-grandchildren, Isaak and Elizabeth Brown; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Amanda and Brad Emerson; and three sisters, Emma Bierley of Douglas, Mich., Ann Barrick of Riga and Mary Adams of Arizona.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Martha Spiegel, Helen Warren, Edith VanSteenkiste and Dorothy VanSteenkiste; and one brother, William Tiede, Jr.

Funeral services for Bertha will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palmyra with the Rev. Gary Leking officiating. Burial will follow in Palmyra cemetery in Palmyra.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. at the Tagsold Funeral Home in Blissfield.

Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.

Robert James Camburn

MACON -- Robert James Camburn passed peacefully the evening of Dec. 16, 2004.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2005, at the Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with Doug Jackson officiating.

Interment will follow in Macon cemetery with military honors conducted by the Britton American Legion.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Parvin "Russ" Russell

ADRIAN -- Parvin "Russ" Russell, age 92, passed away Dec. 29, 2004, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.

His wife, Alice, Peg Morley (stepdaughter), Chuck and all of their family's would like to thank the staff at Lenawee Medical Facility for making Parvin's stay so comfortable. Thanks also for the help and support from his extended family the past three years, Darren and Sandy Morley, Jamie Morley, Scott and Tanya Morley, JoDee and Gordy Hartman, and all of Parvin's great-grandchildren.

Funeral services took place on Jan. 3 in Michigan Center. Burial was at Somerset Center.
