Lenora "Bea" Rowe,

age 93, of Hudson, passed away February 8, 2008.

Bea was born December 20, 1914 in Hillsdale County, Michigan, the daughter of Arthur and Lura (Parkes) Day. In 1937 she married Edgar Rowe and they celebrated over fifty years of marriage. He preceded her in death. Bea was a lifelong resident of the Hudson area where she was a member of the Hudson First United Methodist Church.

Bea is survived by her son, Dean Rowe of Williamsburg, KY; grandchildren, Angela (Dave) Gritzmaker of Clayton, Anthony (April) Rowe and Annie Barnes, both of Hudson and six great grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Edgar, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P. M. Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at the Hudson United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Johnston officiating.

Visitation will be 6 - 8 P. M. Tuesday, February 12, 2008 and two hours prior to the service at the Hudson United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are entrusted to the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.

Rafaela Capetillo

Adrian, MI

Rafaela Capetillo. age 76, of Adrian, passed away
February 3, 2008.

Rafaela was born October 24, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas the daughter of Augustin and Librada Rosales.

On March 3, 1948 she married Pedro Capetillo in Adrian, Michigan. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker that loved to travel and dance.

Rafaela is survived by her children, Linda Capetillo of Texas, Dora (Joe) Rosas of Oklahoma, Alice (Toby) Burciaga of Adrian, Johnny Capetillo of Texas, Steven Capetillo of Texas, Jesse Capetillo of Arkansas, Paul Capetillo of Adrian, Richard Capetillo of Arkansas and Robert (Jaymie) Capetillo of Adrian; twenty six grandchildren; forty one great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband Pedro, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Friday, February 8, 2008 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.

Burial will follow at Oakwood cemetery, Adrian.

Visitation will be 4 - 8 P. M. Thursday, February 7, 2008 and one hour prior to the service Friday at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.

Louis P. Torres "Louie"

Adrian, MI

Louie P. Torres, age 44, of Adrian, went to be with his Lord and Savior February 3, 2008.

Louie was born November 16, 1963 in Carson City, Michigan the son of the late Pedro Torres and Gloria Torres Diaz.

He was a 1981 graduate of Adrian High School and served his country in the U. S. Marines.

He visitedthe Jesus is Lord Ministry Church, became a Christian and was loved by everyone.

Louie is survived by his parents, Pedro Sr. and Gloria Diaz; sons, Johnny Torres of Roundrock, Texas, Arturo (Coon) Torres, Nick Fredericks, Julian Torres all of Adrian; daughter Simone Burciaga of Ypsilanti; brothers Jeff Diaz, Sr.and Pedro Diaz, Jr,; sister Teresa Diaz, all of Adrian and half sister, Priscilla Mota of Detroit;

Besides his father Pedro Torres, Louie is preceded in death by a sister, Melva Torres and his grandparents Pedro and Andrea Torres.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 9, 2008 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.

Visitation will be from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.

Leona E. Ashenfelter

Tecumseh, MI

Leona E, Ashenfelter, age 73, of Tecumseh, passed away February 11, 2008. Leona was born September 29, 1934, in Clayton, Michigan, the daughter of Everett and Gertrude (Roney) Cattell. On November 19, 1952, she married Robert Ashenfelter in Adrian. He survives.

Leona was a beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother. Her life revolved around her family and her faith. She was an active member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh, where she belonged to the Altar Society for over 35 years and in that time served as president and treasurer. She also worked for many years on the Funeral Dinner committee at the church. Leona was an active individual belonging to three different golf leagues and served as secretary at different times.

Besides her husband Robert, Leona is survived by her children, Roger (Anita) Ashenfelter of TN, Karen (Mark) Maddox of Jackson and Annette (Randy) Escott of Manitou Beach; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers Donald (Karen) Cattell and Elden (Brenda) Cattell and sister- in-law Dorothy Cattell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Louis and Raymond Cattell and sister Lucille Ragless.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 15, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh. Burial will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian. Visitation will be 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P. M Thursday, February 14, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.

A Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 P. M. Thursday.

Arrangements were entrusted to the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Frank F. Kozumplik, Jr.

Adrian, MI

Frank F. Kozumplik, Jr., age 49, of Adrian, passed away unexpectedly February 15, 2008. He was born May 17, 1958, in Tecumseh, MI, the son of Frank F. and Frances (Horky) Kozumplik, Sr. On August 21, 1976, he married his High School sweetheart Debra Miller. She survives.

Frank was a graduate of Tecumseh High School, Class of 1976. He worked at the Tecumseh Products Company for 21 years.

Frank was an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed supporting Jimmy Johnson.

Frank was a devoted family man. He was dearly loved by his wife, children, and grandchildren. Frank brought so much joy to all our lives. He will be truly missed and never forgotten.

In addition to his loving wife Debra, he is survived by his son, Derek (Amy) Kozumplik of Adrian, and daughter, Tara Kozumplik and her fiancé Darin Harvey both of Adrian; six grandchildren, Mya, Emma, Ethan, Haley, Austin, and Jaide; an uncle, William (Ruth) Horky of Blissfield and an aunt, Marjorie Horky of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and an uncle, Jerry Horky.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 19, 2008 atthe J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, with Pastor Chris Cadwallader officiating.

Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, February 18, 2008 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.

Carolyn Hayes

Tecumseh, MI

Carolyn Hayes, age 64, of Tecumseh, passed away February 16, 2008.

Carolyn was born May 23, 1943 in Murphy, North Carolina the daughter of Robert and Pauline (Pickelsimer) Mason.

On December 29, 1962 she married David Hayes in Allen Park, Michigan. He survives.

Carolyn was an avid gardener and a lover of animals.

Besides her husband David, Carolyn is survived by her sons, Michael (Chrystal) Hayes of Gladwin, MI and Eric Hayes of Rosebush, MI; daughter in law, Leisa (Ketola) Hayes of Clinton; father, Robert Mason of Allen Park, brothers, Bob (Lynn) Mason of Allen Park and Harold (Kathy) Mason of Inkster; grandsons, Kyle, Matthew, and Zack Hayes; one nephew and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Mason; son Jeffrey Hayes and a dear friend, Ann Black.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian. Burial will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh.

Visitation will be 2 - 8 P. M. Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.

Dolores "Lola" Koster

Tecumseh, MI

Dolores (Lola) Koster, age 79, of Tecumseh, passed away February 18, 2008. She was born December 10, 1928, in Gary, Indiana, the daughter of Lucio and Erminia Fernandez. On May 25, 1956, she married Ardon Koster in Rea, Michigan. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1997.

Lola was a homemaker and had worked at the D & C Dime store in Tecumseh for several years.

Lola is survived by two daughters, Lora (Steve) Hnidy of Tecumseh and Gale Shaver of Ypsilanti; five grandchildren, Jessica, Alex and Keith Hnidy and Ben and Erin Shaver and one sister, Mildred (Nena) Jurcic of Merrillville, Indiana.

In addition to her husband, Ardon, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

At her request, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to The American Lung Association.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

James E. Claus, Sr.

Manchester, MI

James E. Claus, Sr., age 76, of Manchester, passed away February 20, 2008. James was born November 4, 1931 in Franklin Township, Michigan the son of Gordon Edgar and Leta (Wilson) Claus. On June 16, 1951 he married Lois Kanavel in Manchester Twp.

He was a 1949 graduate of Clinton High School. James served his country in the Adrian Army National Guard and the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from the Tecumseh Products in 1986 after 37 years of service. Upon retirement James started a second career as a professional photographer. He was an avid golfer with many local league affiliations. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and traveling extensively throughout the United States. James was a member of the Manchester Conservation Club.

Besides his wife, Lois, James is survived by his children, Deborah (Ken) of Tipton, James Jr. of Kalamazoo, Aleta of Gregory and Thomas (Kim) of Jonesville; 12 grandchildren, Christy, Tim, Jimmy, Melodie, Brad, Nicholas, Billy, Kristen, Eric, Crystal, Danny and Becki; and 9 great grandchildren, Kristen, Morgan, Kimber, Alex, Molly, Clarke, Pryor, Shaun and Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 P. M. Monday, February 25, 2008 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with family officiating.

Military honors will performed following the service by the Tecumseh American Legion Post #34 and Tecumseh VFW Post #4187.

Visitation will be 4 - 8 P. M. Sunday, February 24, 2008 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
