Delores M. Hunt, 70, of Columbiaville, died Wednesday (Nov. 27, 2002) in Ruskin, Fla..
She was born Jan. 21, 1932, in Columbiaville to Clarence and Adelia (Morrison) Baker. She married Charles M. Hunt on Dec. 4, 1948, in Lapeer.
She enjoyed playing bingo and cards with her euchre group for over 40 years. She also loved hummingbirds, flowers, and spending time with family, friends and most of all, her grandchildren. She was a member of the Lapeer Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2477 and Ruskin Moose Lodge 1718.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; sons, Bryan (Susan) Hunt of Indiana and Rick (Rhonda) Hunt of Pennsylvania; daughter, Vicky Poe of Columbiaville; brothers, Ronald (Patricia) Baker of Columbiaville, Elwyn (Elizabeth) Baker of Lapeer and Dave Baker of Georgia; sisters, Marcia Tobias of Davison and Linda Reynolds of Lapeer; and grandchildren, Alexis, Zachary, Eric, Lori, Samantha, Veronica and Stephanie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gerald.
Memorial contributions may be made to Life Path Hospice.
Funeral services are Tuesday (Dec.3) at Jansen Family Funeral Home, Columbiaville. The Rev. Tom Wachterhauser officiated. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery.

Dianne M. Goff
Died: Monday, November 25, 2002
Age: 58

Pontiac

Dianne M. (DeCrescenza) Goff, 58, of Pontiac, died Monday (Nov. 25, 2002).
She was born Dec. 30., 1943, in Pontiac to Earl and Annette (Reagle) Agar.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly (Christopher) Dutkiewicz of Dryden, Kay (John) Sherwood of Ariz., Kellie (Ken) Kreps of England, Kristina Weaver of Ariz., Michael (Darcy) DeCrescenza and Toni (Joseph) Truitt of Auburn Hills; 15 grandchildren, including Kodi and Amber; mother, Annette Fisher of Lake Orion; siblings, Judi Nichols of California, Roseanne Davenport of Waterford, Duane Height of White Lake, Robert Agar of Michigan; and cousin, Sue Jones of Waterford.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Melody Powers; and brother, Timothy Agar.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Pontiac.
Visitation was Wednesday (Nov. 27) at the Lake Orion Chapel of the Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday (Nov. 29) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion.

Albert J. Novotney
Died: Saturday, November 23, 2002
Age: 85

Lapeer

Albert J. Novotney, 85, of Lapeer (formerly of Seelyville, Ind.), died Saturday (Nov. 23, 2002).
He was born Nov. 13, 1917, in Seelyville, Ind., to Paul and Anna (Mehok) Novotney. He married Marguerite Hardy at the First Presbyterian Church on Nov. 11, 1950, in Lapeer.
He served in the Merchant Marines and Army. He was a tobacco salesman for Mail Pouch and General Cigar. He was an active member of the Lapeer Optimist for many years. He was a member of the Lapeer Country Club, where he loved to golf. He enjoyed his lawn, gardening and painting. Years ago he had a sign painting business.
He is survived by his children, Julie (John) Hintz of Lapeer and Craig Novotney of Brown City; grandchildren, Annie Novotney, Curt Novotney, Jill Hintz and Holly Hintz; siblings, Helen LaClave of Indianapolis, Ind., Frank Novotney of Pontiac and Paul (Donna) Novotney of Seelyville, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Novotney, 2002; daughter-in-law, Tina Novotney, 2002; siblings, Steve Novotney, Ann Van Vactor, Ed Novotney; and parents.
Funeral services were Tuesday (Nov. 26) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The Rev. Arnold Bracy officiated. Burial was in Mount Hope cemetery, Lapeer.

Joseph Bohnsack
Died: Friday, November 22, 2002
Age: 82

Mohnton, Pa.

Joseph Bohnsack, 82, of Mohnton, Pa. (formerly of Columbiaville), died Friday (Nov. 22, 2002) at the Reading Hospital in West Reading, Pa.
He was born March 28, 1920, at the family farm in Oregon Township. He married Alice J. Scott on June 29, 1941, in Columbiaville.
He graduated from Lapeer High School in 1937 and from Flint Practical Nurse Center in 1964. He was self-employed as a farmer in Oregon Township and as a bookkeeper at several local firms. He worked for 18 years as a nurse and lab technician at the hospital of the Lapeer State Home and Training School, retiring in 1984. He moved to Mohnton, Pa., in 1995. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Mohnton, Pa., and assistant treasurer of the Reading Co. Technical and Historical Society. Previously, he served as treasurer of Oregon United Methodist Church, for 35 years. He also held positions as director of the McDonald Cooperative Dairy, and on the board of the United Methodist Town and Rural Fellowship and the Flint District Board of Missions.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; brother, Raymond (Ellen) Bohnsack of Alexandria, Va.; children, Carol (James) Adams of Mohnton, Pa., the Rev. Benjamin (Marcia) Bohnsack of Farmington Hills, Joseph Paul Bohnsack of Duncanville, Texas, and Anita Gray of Mohnton, Pa.; grandchildren, Susan Wendel, Jeanne Adams, David Adams, Dr. Kevin Bohnsack, Todd Bohnsack, Brenda Bohnsack, Paul Bohnsack, Jennifer McKay, Aaron Bohnsack; great grandchildren, Emily, Charlotte, Laura, Isabel, Ryan and Ethan; and many cousins and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Calvary United Methodist Church, 1 W. Wyomissing Ave., Mohnton, PA. 19540.
A memorial service was Tuesday (Nov. 26) at Calvary United Methodist Church, Mohnton, Pa. The Rev. John C. Grove officiated. A memorial service was Friday (March 28) at the Oregon United Methodist Church, 2971 German Road, Columbiaville. His children officiated. A graveside service followed at the Oregon Township cemetery.

Annabel Lucy Atkins

Age: 75

Lapeer

Annabel Lucy Atkins, 75, of Lapeer (formerly of Genesee County), died Thursday (Nov. 21, 2002).
She was born June 30, 1927, in Waterford to Persis and Nellie (Decker) Atkins.
She enjoyed knitting and painting as a young woman.
She is survived by 30 nieces and nephews; over 85 great nieces and nephews; many great-great nieces and nephews; several cousins; her "family" from Ferguson's Convalescent Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Persis and Nellie Atkins; sisters, Rachel Worth and Stella Davis; and brothers, Sherman Atkins, Melvin Atkins and Manson Atkins.
Funeral services were Saturday (Nov. 23) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The. Rev. Peter DeKlerk officiated.
Arrangements by Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.

Steven R. Spangler
Died: Thursday, November 21, 2002
Age: 49

Dryden

Steven R. Spangler, 49, of Dryden, died Thursday (Nov. 21, 2002) at McLaren Regional Hospital in Flint.
He was born May 19, 1953, in Almont to Frederick and Florence (Boyd) Spangler.
He attended Almont High School. He retired from Chrysler Corp. and was a broker at Statewide Realty in Almont. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and racquetball player.
He is survived by his sons, Shannon Spangler and Nicholas Spangler, both of Mount Clemens; mother, Florence Spangler of Yale; brother, Dennis (Therese) Spangler of Port Huron; sister, Nancy (Doug) Withey of Sandusky; nieces and nephews, Rachael Spangler, Catherine Spangler, John Spangler, all of Port Huron, Tricia (Ron) Anspaugh and Paula (Jerry) Brown, all of Yale, Christopher Withey of Sandusky; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorial contributions may be made to Seven Ponds Nature Center or the Henry Stephens Memorial Library.
Visitation was Sunday (Nov. 24) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Almont.
Funeral services are 2 p.m., Monday (Nov. 25) at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Almont. The Rev. Larry W. Reick of the First Congregational Church in Almont will officiate.

Ruth Ann Bacon

Ruth Ann Bacon, 43, of Oxford, died Wednesday (Nov. 20, 2002).
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; children, April Rule, Danielle (Chad) Sylvester and Mary Rule; step-children, Shannara (Neil) Burgess, Adrienne Bacon and Deanna Bacon; sisters, Susan (Ross) Scheuerlein-Hampton of California and Sharon (Scott) Scheuerlein-Robinson of Maryland; grandchildren, Chad Sylvester II and Desaray Sylvester; and nieces, Kristina and Holly Robinson.
Funeral services were Saturday (Nov. 23) at Bossardet Chapel, Lynch and Sons Funeral Directors, Oxford.

Joy L. Lange
Died: Monday, November 18, 2002
Age: 70

Joy L. "Tootie" Lange, 70, of Roscommon (formerly of Lapeer), died Monday (Nov. 18, 2002) at Mercy Hospital in Grayling.
She was born July 25, 1932, in Cheboygan to Emery E. and Mildred E. (Miles) Jolly. She married John J. Lange on Oct. 29, 1969, in Lapeer.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Markey Improvement Association and the Sweet Adelines.
She is survived by her husband, John; children, Mike (Alta) Skellenger of Vancouver, British Columbia, Debbie (Roger) Kardinal of California, Patti (fiancˇ, Randy Fischer) Jasper of North Branch, Jerry (Rhonda Welch) Skellenger of Houghton Lake and Dan Lange of Port Huron; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Gloria) Jolly of Waupun, Wis., Ed (Gini) Jolly of Marshall and George (Ruth) Jolly of Swartz Creek; and sisters, Lil (Bob) Whitman of Lapeer and Barb (Don) Brandt of South Boardman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Karen Running; and grandson, Brian Skellenger.
