RALEY - William H. Raley, age 90, of Kentwood, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge since 1964, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Together with his wife, Caroline, he fostered the creation of the Royal Aires Dance Band (a Big Band that performed throughout the state from 1964 to 1972). Bill faithfully provided for his family, and in 1964 joined his brother, Dave, in business and formed Raley Brothers Manufacturers Reps. One of his greatest loves was playing golf. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Caroline, and three brothers. He is survived by his children, William Jr. (Sara) Raley, Robert Raley, James A. (Linda) Raley, Patricia Burnett; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at The Laurels of Sandy Creek, especially to Pretty Peggy, for their loving care. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 1213 - 52nd Street SE. Interment with Military Honors will be in Resurrection cemetery. ZWIER - Peter Junior Zwier, age 83, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 21, 2011. Peter proudly served his country in both the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Army. He continued his life of service by working in finance and administration for the American Cancer Society for 30 years. An avid sports fan, Peter enjoyed attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren. He had a wonderful sense of humor and often brought smiles and laughter to those around him. His love for his family and the Lord was evident in all he did. Peter was preceded in death by two sisters, Marcia Zwier and Marilyn Overzet. KUIPER - Donna Kuiper, our loving daughter and sister, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2010, at Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods in Byron Center, MI, after suffering from a brief illness. She was born October 21, 1953, in Racine, WI, and lived on the family farm as a child. She attended Racine Christian Grade School and J. I. Case High School. In her 20's she moved to Michigan and spent most of her adult life in the Grand Rapids area. Donna is survived by her parents, Art and Helena Kuiper of Mount Vernon, WA; her sisters and brother and their spouses, Jerry and Barbara VanVliet, Mount Vernon, WA, Mike and Bev Mulder, Prinsburg, MN, Henry and Jeanne Annema, Sedro Woolley, WA, and Art and Robyn Kuiper, St. Louis, MO. She also leaves behind fourteen nephews and nieces. One brother, Frank Kuiper, preceded her in death. Donna always loved to sing and now she sings with the angels. A family graveside service will be held on Friday, May 20 at 2:30 p.m. at Graceland cemetery in Racine, WI. Kenneth Green, 77, of Morenci passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at the Bixby Medical Center in Adrian. He was born on March 18, 1931, in Lyons, Ohio, the son of Welcome & Flossie (Cleghorn) Green. On November 11, 1956, in Ogden Twp. he married Shirley Lemke and she survives.

Kenneth worked in construction for thirty years and was a member of the Laborers' International Union of North America Local #499 out of Ann Arbor. His favorite past time after he retired was refinishing and repairing furniture, feeding his birds and being outside. He enjoyed his cat "Tom" who already misses him.

Besides his wife, Shirley, Kenneth is survived by a daughter, Becky Zook of Sand Creek; a son, James of Columbus, Ohio; a grandson, Arthur; two sisters, Amelia Sanborn of Hudson and Alice Micsinszki of Canada; a brother, Harlan Green of Georgetown, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Clara Snyder and Evelyn Stewart; and three brothers, Miller, Maurice and Charles Green.

Funeral service will be graveside at the Lyons cemetery in Lyons, Ohio, on Sunday, May 4, 2008, at 2:00 PM with Rev. William VanValkenburg officiating. There will be a visitation at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci on Saturday from 5 until 8 PM.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Fairfield Fire Department.

DOYLE - Melissa Ann Doyle, age 41, of Kentwood, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 26, 2011. Melissa enjoyed crocheting and other crafts. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. Bud Ebersole, age 82, of Fayette, Ohio passed away Monday, April 14, 2008, at Toledo Hospital. He was born March 7, 1926, in Fayette, Ohio to Earl and Ethel (Randall) Ebersole. He married Geraldine Wolter and she preceded him in death on November 8, 1968. He then married Doris Stamm and she preceded him in death on December 31, 2004.
Bud was a life long farmer in the Fayette area and served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
Surviving Bud are five grandchildren, Lindsay (Greg) Michalkiewicz, Steve Ebersole, Leslie Ebersole and C.J. Clendenin, Eric Ebersole and Michelle Lawson all of Fayette and Amber Ebersole of Alvordton; nine great grandchildren, Caleb, Destiny, Bransin, Kaiden, Riley, Lacotus, Kylee, Dylan and Jenieve; one sister, Rowena Kuhn of Fayette; one brother, Weldon (Irene) Ebersole of Pioneer; special friend, Mary Jane Randall of Fayette; four step-daughters, Diane (Lowell) Nafziger of Goshen, Indiana, Donna (Larry) Thompson of West Unity, Susie Stamm of Archbold and Judy (Jim) Estel of Wauseon; three step-sons, Terry Stamm of Fayette, Curtis (Kay) Stamm of Archbold and Sammy (Joy) Stamm of Lewis Center, Ohio; 11 step-grandchildren and 16 great step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, two sons, Loyal and Lyle, two step-granddaughters and one step-great granddaughter.
Funeral services for Bud will be Friday, April 18, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Winston Hatcliff officiating. Military Interment by the Fulton County Honor Guard will follow at Pleasant View Union cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m.

BURDICK - Dean K. Burdick, age 79, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 3, 2011. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Burns); and brother, Orson. Surviving are his children, Keith (and fiancee, Paulette) Burdick, Deborah (Kevin) Byers, Brenda (Vince) Smith; nine grandchildren; his sisters, Pauline Weitzel, Marguerete Phelps, Jean Cook, and Elizabeth Hines. The Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, October 6, at Stroo Funeral Home, with Pastor Dale Byers, and Pastor Jim Carrier officiating. Interment in Kent Memorial Gardens. OFFRINGA - Ronald Offringa, Sr., age 73, of Dutton, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, October 6, 2011. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry; and his sister, Ann Gilbert. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn; his children, Cindy Ballard, Ron and Megan Offringa, Jim Offringa, Lisa and Doug VanGent; grandchildren, Margaret and Nate Lowing, Susan Fox, Ron and Calvin Offringa, Douglas and Kristina, Christopher and Ben VanGent; brothers and sisters, Andy and Deanna Offringa, Tena Ellsworth, Grace and Bill Dykstra, Millie Gittens, Virginia and Paul Greenland, Stuart and Karen Offringa; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Bonnie Ridder, Bill and Lynn Loerop; many nieces and nephews. The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Stroo Funeral Home, and on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at church.
