Carolyn L. Hill, age 70, of N. Rollin Hwy., Addison, Michigan passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005 at her home. She was born on December 5, 1934 in Fayette, Ohio to Harold and Wilma (Sebring) Fruchey and she married Timothy Hill on April 27, 1970 in Sevierville, TN.

Carolyn retired from Big Wheel in Brooklyn, Michigan in 1992, with over ten years of service and she graduated from Columbia Central High School. She also enjoyed raising flowers, baking birthday cakes and playing with her grandchildren at the parks.

Surviving Carolyn besides her husband, Timothy of Addison, are two daughters, Tammy (Robert) Gisewite of Jerome, Michigan and Deborah (Lawrence) Patrick Sr. of Hudson, Michigan; four step-children, Cathy Hill of Lincoln Park, Michigan, Nora Sue Hill and Charles Hill both of Arizona and Lonnie DeBrabant of Warren, Michigan; three brothers, Jim (Joyce) Fruchey of Fayette, Lyle (Sharon) Fruchey of West Unity and Raymond Fruchey of Fayette; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, six step grandchildren and three
step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jan DeBrabant, one sister, Jo Ellen Wiykovics, three brothers, Charles, Roger and Gene Fruchey, two stepsons, Timmy Hill and Dennis DeBrabant, one grandson, Lawrence Patrick Jr. and one great grandson Damian Marshall.

Funeral services for Carolyn will be Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Union cemetery in Fayette. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6, 2005 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Lenawee County.

Brittany K. Munsell
February 26, 1998 - March 11, 2005

Brittany K. Munsell, age 7, of Allen, passed away Friday, March 11, 2005, at the Hillsdale Community Health Center. She was born in Hillsdale on February 26, 1998 to Jess Munsell and Brandi Stone and they survive in Allen.

Brittany was a kindergartner at Williams Elementary in Jonesville. Brittany was a special child and she loved to read.

Surviving besides her parents are her sisters, Jalisa and Ashley; brother Michael and twin brother Christopher; paternal grandparent, Roxann Munsell of Portsmouth, Virginia and maternal grandparents, William (Linda) Nuhfer of Toledo; paternal great grandparents, Roland & Alma Cross of Allen and maternal great grandparents, Patricia Nuhfer of Toledo and Kenneth Alcock of Lambertville, Ohio.

Funeral services for Brittany Munsell will be Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Randy Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove cemetery in Hillsdale. The family will receive friends Monday, March 14, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.

Bessie (Boies) Sattler Haight
July 13, 1909 - March 29, 2005

Bessie B. Haight, age 95, of Hudson, Michigan passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. She was born July 23, 1909 in Fall River, Massachusetts to Harry and Bessie (Jones) Boies. She married Charles A. Sattler on June 3, 1927 in Hillsdale, Michigan and he preceded her in death on December 9, 1980. She then married Wyman Haight on August 8, 1981 in Hudson and he preceded her in death on October 31, 1991.

Bessie was a life long Hudson area resident. She owned and operated the Hob Nob Restaurant in Hudson from 1953 until 1968 and also owned the Silhouette Health Spa in Hudson. She attended the Hudson First United Methodist Church and was a past member of Hudson American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving Bessie is one daughter, Joyce (Maynard) Saugstead of St. Ptersburg, Florida; one son, Roger (Beverly) Sattler of Hudson; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two sisters, Alice Street and Elsie Crider; two brothers, Harry and Albert Boies; two sisters and one brother in infancy.

Graveside services for Bessie will be Monday, April 4, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Maple Grove cemetery in Hudson with Rev. Mark Johnston officiating. There will be no visitation hours. Local arrangements were entrusted to Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.

Memorial contributions can be made to charity of donor's choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Larry Fullmer
December 7, 1941 - March 5, 2005

Larry J. Fullmer, age 63, of Emerson St., Waldron, Michigan passed away Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Hillsdale Community Health Center. He was born December 7, 1941, in Morgantown, West Virginia. He married Inadella Joy Fullmer on November 3, 1973, in Toledo, Ohio. She preceded him in death on September 26, 1995.

Larry was employed at Air Reed in Waldron and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.

Surviving Larry are one sister in-law, Ethel Parsons of Columbus, Ohio; special friend, Susan Crawford of Waldron, Michigan and several friends.

At Larry's request cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or services. Local arrangements were entrusted to Eagle Funeral Home in Waldron.

Ted D. Eagle
April 19, 1947 - December 21, 2004

Service: Friday, December 24, 2004 @ 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan, Ohio. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 in the Bryan Arts and Education Building with the Music Department of Bryan High School participating.

Ted D. Eagle, age 57, of Bryan, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at his residence. Mr. Eagle was a graduate of Waldron High School and Indiana University-Indianapolis. He was Director of Respiratory Care for Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, Montpelier and Archbold, Ohio working there for the past 28 years. A Vietnam War Air Force veteran, Mr. Eagle was the Organist and Bell Choir Director at First Presbyterian Church in Montpelier, Ohio for the past eight years. Prior to that, he had been the Choir Director at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan, Ohio for 8 years. Ted was a former member of the Bryan Kiwanis. He was active in the Bryan Madrigal Chorus, the Williams County Playhouse and also volunteered for the Bryan and Montpelier Music Department. In his younger years, he was a minor league baseball coach, and also a coach for the Bryan Little League. Ted also was a volunteer basketball coach at St. Patrick Catholic School.
Ted D. Eagle was born on April 19, 1947 in Hudson, Michigan, the son of Marcus Ford and Nina (Clingerman) Eagle. He married Marlene K. Perkins on June 8, 1974 in Bryan, Ohio and she survives.

In addition to his wife Marlene, Mr. Eagle is survived by two sons, Lt. Timothy Alan (Connie) Miller United States Navy, of Virginia Beach, VA., and Shawn C. Eagle of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren, Katrina, Gabrielle, Shelby, Makenna, Sheena and Clint Miller, one great-grandson; two brothers, Richard “Dick” Eagle of Elmonte, CA., and Tom (Jill) Eagle of Grand Haven, MI., two sister-in-laws, Joan Eagle of Jackson, MI., and Phyllis Eagle of Manitou Beach, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bob, Jerry and Joe Eagle and one sister-in-law, Elaine Eagle.

Funeral services for Ted D. Eagle will be held on Friday, December 24, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church (at the corner of Center and Noble Streets) Bryan, Ohio with Pastor Richard Buchsteiner, officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove cemetery with Bryan V.F. W. Post #2489 conducting Military Graveside Rites. Visitation for Mr. Eagle will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2004 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan. Visitation will also be held Friday, December 24, 2004 from 10-11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 in the Bryan Arts and Education Building with the Music Department of Bryan High School participating.

Memorials in the name of Ted D. Eagle may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Bryan High School Music Department.

Ruth Krall
July 30, 1917 - December 30, 2004

Ruth Krall, age 87, of Hartley Road, Waldron, Michigan passed away Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility.

She was born July 30, 1917 in Sylvania, Ohio to Clarence and Hazel (Measures) Sharp. She married Floyd Rychener in 1939 and he preceded her in death September 18, 1968. She then married Earnest Krall in 1972 and he preceded her in death February 2, 1999.

Surviving Ruth are two sons, Lynn (Nancy) Rychener of Waldron and Ralph (Patricia) Rychener; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one sister and one brother.

Funeral services for Ruth Krall will be Monday, January 3, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Palmyra Community Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Bidwell officiating. Interment will be in Palmyra cemetery.

Gino Galantino
August 12, 1933 - December 25, 2004

Gino Galantino, age 71, of Waldron passed away Saturday, December 25, 2004, at the V.A. Medical Center in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was born August 12, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York to Nicholas and Anna (Papania) Galantino. He married Mary Yasparro on June 29, 1957 in New York and she survives. He then married Dorothy "Dottie" Roberts on December 31, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada and she survives.

Gino had lived in the Waldron area for the past two years. He was the former owner of Gino's Restaurant in Tampa, Florida and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving Gino besides his wife, Dorothy of Waldron is one daughter, Gena (Steven) Rey of Tampa; three sons, Nicholas (Karen) Galantino of Tampa, Peter (Isa) Galantino of Long Islsnd, New York, and Michael Galantino of Tampa; one brother, Vincent Galantino of Middle Village, New York; two step-sons, Don (Debbie) Pierce and Steve Hinz all of Ypsilanti, Michigan; six granchildren and two step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services for Gino will be Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson with Fr. Richard Eberle officiating.

Arrangements were entrusted to Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.

Charles George Gier
February 4, 1932 - April 22, 2006

Charles George Gier, age 74, of Pittsford, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2006, at his home under the loving care of his family. He was born February 4, 1932 on a farm south of Ransom to Lawrence & Leona (Richardson) Gier.

He graduated from Pittsford High School in 1950, where he earned the State Farmer's Degree in FFA. He was engaged in farming nearly his entire life. He was active in various Dairy organizations including Michigan Animal Breeders Assoc., Michigan Milk Producers Assoc., and the Dairy Herd Improvement Assoc., holding various offices in each. He also had been a 4-H Club Livestock leader. George was a member of the First Congregational Church of Pittsford, where he had held various offices for many years. He served on the Hillsdale County Road Commission Board for 26 years and the Hillsdale County Parks Commission. He was always an avid horseman and had been a member of the Bits & Harness Pony Club and the Michigan Dynamometer Association. He was a charter member of the Pittsford Area Lions Club, where he took an active roll and also served on the Leonardson cemetery board. He was also a member of the Hills and Dales Western Square Dance Club. George was always a very devoted and loving son, husband, father & grandfather.

On April 6, 1951, he married Marian Jane (Perrin) Gier who survives in Pittsford. Also surviving are their four children, Deborah (Thomas) Knueve, Darlene (Kevin) Clark, Douglas Gier and Denise (Jeffrey) Wilt; seven grandchildren, Aaron (Michelle) Clark, Derek Knueve, Aimee Clark (Nick) Otto, Erik Gier, Adam Clark, Jacob Gier and Chella Wilt. Also surviving is his sister, Linda (Larry) Sigman of Jonesville and several nieces and nephews. His mother survives and his father preceded him in death in 2000.

A service to honor the life of George Gier will be Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at 11:00 a.m., at the First Congregational Church in Pittsford with Pastor Terry Bobzien officiating. Interment will follow at the Leonardson Memorial cemetery in Pittsford, Michigan. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 25, 2006 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.

Calvin D. Morris Sr., age 49, of Hillsdale, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2006, at the Hillsdale Community Health Center. He was born Feb. 8, 1957 in Jackson, Michigan to Lewis & Edna (Cousino) Morris.

Calvin was employed at Apex Automotive in Hillsdale, was a resident of this area the majority of his life and attended Jonesville Community Schools.

Surviving is a son, Calvin Morris Jr. of North Adams; a daughter, Jennifer Slade of Hillsdale; four grandchildren; sisters Barbara Bigelow and Ida (Mike) MacKenzie, both of Hillsdale, Cathy (William) Rubin of Osseo and Sandra Bills of Allen; brothers, Thomas (Karen) Morris of Sturgis and Robert Morris of Jonesville.

Graveside funeral services for Calvin Morris will be Monday, April 24, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., at the Sunset View cemetery in Jonesville with Pastor Craig Pahl officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., at the Eagle Funeral Home in Jonesville.
