HILL, MARY MORGAN, died March 19. She was born in Detroit, MI and relocated to Port St. Lucie, FL 19 years ago. she retired as a Counselor from Oakland Community College in Michigan. She was very active in civic community organizations such as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and The Links, Inc. Survivors include her husband Charles Andrew Hill, Jr. Children Charles Andrew Hill III (Jackie), Mary Frances Washington, LaFronzye Hill-Harris (Sylvester) and Deborah Cargle (Frank). Grandchildren are Mackie Faye, Ashley, Brittny, Ashly and Charles IV. Great grandchildren Brandon and Keith. She is also survived by her sister Vadier, and brothers Leavy (Ruth), Joseph (Jane), Willie and Eugene. In lieu of flowers the family would like for donations to be made to the Tuskegee Airmen Educational Scholarship Fund in honor of Mary Morgan Hill, 1885 S.E. Adair, Port St. Lucie, FL 34952. MATTHEWS, CHARLES (CHUCK) passed away on March 18, 2002 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born in Loganton, Pennsylvania on December 24, 1935 to Thelma and Mickey Matthews. He was preceded in death by his father, Mickey; and brother James. Chuck married Jenell Stephenson on July 6, 1963. He is survived by his wife; mother Thelma; sister Annie Jo Summers; sister-in-law Laura Matthews; and five nephews. Chuck was raised in Sugar Valley, Pennsylvania, graduating from Sugar Valley High School in 1953 and Williamsport Technical Institute in 1955. He received a BSME degree from Purdue University in 1970, and a MSME degree from the California Institute of Technology in 1971. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. Chuck began working at the General Motors Research Laboratories in 1971. He later worked at the GM Systems Engineering Center, and retired from the General Motors Proving Grounds in 1996. During the last six years, he pursued his lifelong passion of working as a race engineer. Chuck was currently with the Target Chip Ganassi Racing Team. He engineered cars to many wins in the Formula Atlantic, Can-Am, and CART series, including a win at the Indianapolis 500 in 2000. Services will be at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Loganton, Pennsylvania on March 26, 2002. For those desiring, memorial contributions can be made to The Neuropathy Association or the American Cancer Society.
