Professor Richard Buss, 74, of 110 North Highland in New Ulm, died Saturday, November 27, 2004, at his home.
Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, December 3, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Wayne Laitinen officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Friday.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.
Richard is survived by a sister, Lois Ann Buss of LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carol Ligman; and by a brother, Charles Buss.
Richard was born on March 20, 1930, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, to Edwin and Malinda (Broecker) Buss. Richard attended high school at the Northwestern Preparatory School graduating in 1948 and the Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisconsin, graduating in 1952. He attended Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Thiensville, Wisconsin, graduating in 1957 as a Wisconsin Synod Lutheran Minister. Professor was a teacher at the Northwestern Lutheran Academy in Mobridge, South Dakota, for one year. He was a pastor at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hettinger, North Dakota, Zion Lutheran Church in Reeder, North Dakota, and Christ Lutheran Church in Bison, South Dakota. In 1970, he came to DMLC as an English Instructor until 1995 when he retired. He was a member of the Hymnal Project for the Wisconsin Lutheran Synod involved in putting synod hymnals together. He was also a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Walter F. Gleisner, 87, of New Ulm, formerly of St. George, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at the Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the St. George Catholic Church in St. George with Father John G. Berger and Father James Moran celebrating. Burial will be in the St. George Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Thursday; and from 7:30-8:30 a.m., Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Friday. The St. George Catholic Aid will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. both Thursday at the funeral home.
Walter is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Bernard Bastian of North Mankato, Sandra and David Wittrock of Moorhead, and Diane and Joel Brandel of North Mankato; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Rita Gleisner of Gibbon, Gary and Linda Gleisner of New Ulm, Myron and Sharon Gleisner of Royalton, Roger and Lisa Gleisner of Chandler, Arizona, Mark and Claudia Gleisner of Gibbon, and Paul and Kari Gleisner of New Ulm; 33 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and by a sister-in-law, Mary Domeier of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marcella Gleisner on February 19, 1992; a grandson, Steven Wittrock in 1968; and by a brother, Erwin Gleisner.
Walter was born on March 25, 1917, in New Ulm to Joseph A. and Rosa (Franta) Gleisner. On May 26, 1941, he married Marcella Domeier at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. He was a lifetime farmer in West Newton Township, Nicollet County. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and playing cards. Walter was a member of the St. George Catholic Aid Council and the St. George Catholic Church in St. George.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the donor's choice.

Leo G. Jandl, 88, of Fairfax, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at his home in Fairfax.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 3, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 -8 p.m., tonight, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6 p.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the Church on Friday.
Arrangements are with the Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax.
Leo is survived by his daughters, Jacquelyn "Jackie" Marketon of Howard Lake, Virginia "Ginger" Rogness of Rochester and Kathleen "Kathy" Bianchi of Lafayette; sons, George Jandl of Eden Prairie and Jerome "Jerry" Jandl of Winona; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and sister, Helen Rieke of Fairfax.
Leo George Jandl was born December 15, 1915, in West Bend, Iowa. He was the son of George and Rosa (Mathys) Jandl.

Erna M. Lendt, 95, of Sleepy Eye, died on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye on Thursday, Dec. 2, from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Service will be held at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church on Friday, Dec. 3, at 10:30 a.m. The Clergy will be Rev. Bruce J. Naumann Interment Home Cemetery, Sleepy Eye
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, MN.

Erna Marie Engholm was born on Aug. 27, 1909, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Becker) Engholm. She grew up in Iowa, later moving to Texas for a short time, returning to Iowa and then moved with her family to Sleepy Eye in 1921. She married Marvin J. Lendt on Sept. 8, 1931 in Sleepy Eye. The couple lived and farmed in Stark Township near Sleepy Eye until retiring. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Ladies of Grace, in Sleepy Eye. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, sewing, playing cards and gardening. She also enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin Lendt of Sleepy Eye; her sons, Armin and wife Leona of Sleepy Eye, Melvin and wife Lois of Sleepy Eye; five grandchildren, Ricky, Randy and David Lendt, Linda Werner and Laurie Scherer; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Elmer and wife Florence Engholm, Edwin and wife Minnie Engholm and Ivan and wife Mava Engholm; and sister, Lucille Laube, all of Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Katherine Engholm; brothers, Orville Engholm, Waldo and wife Doris Engholm, brother-in-law, Harold Laube, and granddaughters Judy and Julie.

Raymond 'Ray' J. Wellner, 103, of Fairfax, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax.
Funeral services will be 11a.m., Friday, Dec. 3, at St. John Lutheran Church in Fairfax. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., today and 7:308:30 a.m., on Friday, at Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax; and will continue one hour before services at the church on Friday.
He is survived by his wife, Adeline Wellner of Fairfax.
Raymond J. Wellner was born September 29, 1901, in Cairo Township, Renville County, Minnesota. He was the son of Charles and Minnie (Bleick) Wellner.

Elsie C. Palmer, 110, of Sleepy Eye, died on Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye,
Service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax, with burial in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery, Fairfax.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. today at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye and will continue at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
Survivors include her son, Otto Palmer Jr. of Roseville; a daughter, Mary Hoagland of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and four grandchildren.
Elsie was born on Jan. 27, 1894, on a farm near Gibbon, to Joseph and Anna (Frank) Biebl.

Melvin K. Klockmann, 86 of Winthrop, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop. Interment will be in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-11 a.m. Monday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop.
Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop is handling the arrangements.

Dianne K. Sjobeck, 62, of Clackamus, Ore. and formerly of New Ulm died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004 at the home of her daughter in New Ulm.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Burial will be in the New Ulm City Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday.

Melvin K. Klocklmann, 86 of Winthrop, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004 at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop, with interment in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop. Arrangements by Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop.
Melvin is survived by his sons, Melvin "Mel" Klockmann of Hutchinson, Karl Klockmann of Winthrop and Dale Klockmann of Winthrop; a daughter, Lyna Lott of Winthrop; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond Klockmann of Ada.
Melvin was born on July 2,1918, in Alfsborg Township, Sibley County, to Charles and Caroline (Otto) Klockmann.

Joseph J. Lang Sr., 90, of Sanborn, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield. Interment will be in St. Raphael's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday and 7:30-10 a.m. Tuesday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. There will be a Parish Prayer Service on Monday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Joseph attended school in Northstar Township
He is survived by his children: James Lang of Sanborn and Joann Schwartz of Springfield; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren; brothers: Raymond and Leo, both of Springfield.
Joseph J. Lang was born to Frank and Cecelia (Vogel) Lang on April 3, 1914 in Northstar Township.

Helen Patten, 89, of Lamberton, formerly of Delhi, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004 at the Valley View Manor In Lamberton
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at the First Presbyterian Church in Delhi. Burial will be in Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls, and will continue at the church on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by her children, Lois Gullickson of Sacred Heart, Marvin Patten of Granite Falls, Mary Tetrick of Lamberton and Gerald W. Patten of Redwood Falls; 11 grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren and one step-great-grandson
She was born Jan. 2,1916 in Delhi Township, Redwood County, to John and Anna Belle (Stewart) McKay.

Donald W. Rose, Sr., 60, of Redwood Falls, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004 at his home
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Redwood Falls. Burial will be in Redwood Falls Cemetery, with military honors.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service In Redwood Falls and will continue at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Rose of Redwood Falls; sons: Don Rose, Jr. of LeSueur, Dan Rose of Redwood Falls and David Rose of Mankato; three grandsons; sisters: Arlene Rose of Morton; Carol Rose of Arlington and Sue Bielke of Glencoe.
He was born Oct. 17, 1944, in New Ulm to Walter and Leone (Pagel) Rose.

Dianne K. Sjobeck, 62, of Clackamas, Oregon, and formerly of New Ulm, died Thursday, December 2, 2004 at the home of her daughter in New Ulm after a courageous battle with cancer with her children at her side.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Dayle Askey officiating. Burial will be in the New Ulm City Cemetery in New Ulm. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Monday and from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday. There will be a time of sharing at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Dianne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Dean Schlumpberger of New Ulm; sons, Jeffrey Eibner of Mound, William Eibner of St. Paul, Brian Eibner and Karen Maschoff and her daughter, Jennifer Maschoff all of Kasson; grandchildren, Kayla Eibner, Aaron and Jason Schlumpberger; her mother, Hazel Schneider of New Ulm; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Jerry Sellner of Austin, Texas, Linda and Bob Mertz of New Ulm, Susan Stoltenburg of Detroit Lakes; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Becky Schneider of New Ulm, Terry and Kate Schneider of Edina, Doug and Auralie Schneider of Oxford, Massachusetts, Kevin Schneider of Sleepy Eye, Dan and Mary Schneider of Woodbury; many nieces and nephews; step-daughters, Debra Brown and her husband, Pat of Waite Park, Jill Southern and her husband, Mark, Lisa Miller and her husband, Luc all of Reno, Nevada; five step-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Sandra Forbes of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Karen Sjobeck and her husband, Casey Mahon of Littleton, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Schneider; and her husband, Gerald Sjobeck.
Dianne Kay Schneider was born on October 19, 1942 in New Ulm to Stanley and Hazel (Gleisner) Schneider. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1960 and then graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Minneapolis in 1963. On June 29, 1963 she married Willibald Eibner in New Ulm. Later she married Gerald Sjobeck on February 15, 1992 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Ulm. She worked at the Loretto Hospital in New Ulm and then at the Sioux Valley Hospital in New Ulm as the Director of Patient Care until 1992. Dianne then worked as a Care Manager at Mount Saint Joseph's in Portland, Oregon until retiring. She moved to New Ulm for health reasons and to be closer to her family. She was appointed by the Governor of Oregon to serve on the Oregon Board of Nursing and served from 1999 to 2003. The family prefers memorials be given to the New Ulm Medical Center Hospice Program.
