Gladys Quill

Services for Gladys Quill, 98, a longtime resident of Redwood Falls, were Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001 at Holden Lutheran Church, Kenyon.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Quill died Sunday, Nov. 25, at the North Ridge Care Center, New Hope.

Survivors include son Gerry (Marian) Quill of Holland, Mich.; daughters Carol Waugh and husband Arnie Shkolnik of Chicago, Ill. and Sandi (James) Martin of Maple Grove; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother Leonard Voxland of Waseca, and sister, Myrtle Nelson of Billings, Mont.

Ruth Sandhoff

Services for Ruth Louise Sandhoff, 94, of Hanover and formerly of Plymouth were Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at 11 a.m. at The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home.

Interment followed at Parkers Lake Cemetery in Plymouth. Rev. Barbara Moore officiated at the funeral service and Erma Dressel was the organist.

Mrs. Sandhoff died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at the Ebenezer Covenant Home in Buffalo.

She was born in Minneapolis Feb. 12, 1907, the daughter of Otto and Louise Hanson.

On Sept. 16, 1930, Ruth Hanson was joined in holy marriage to Theodore G. Sandhoff at Parkers Lake Methodist Church. God blessed their marriage with two daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Sandhoff engaged in farming in Plymouth for many years and moved to Hanover in 1969. Theodore Sandhoff preceded his wife in death May 22, 1984.

Mrs. Sandhoff was a member of Hanover Zion United Methodist Church and also belonged to the Hanover Senior Citizens.

She is survived by daughters, Lois (Donald) Mahler of Hanover and Elaine (Robert) Olson of Belleview, Fla.; sister-in-law, Elsie Patch; brother-in-law, Frank Chapman; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Dallas Schendel

Services for Dallas Schendel, 46, of Becker were Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield.

Rev. Dennis K. Strong officiated and interment followed at the church cemetery. Carlene Just, Rhonda Michaletz, Teri Lachermeier and Marilyn Chopp served as honorary casket bearers. Jim Tessmer, Mark Tessmer, Dan Lange, Troy Schultz, Rod Eggink, Eric Kyllo, Jeff Kath and Tony Lysdal served as casket bearers.

Mr. Schendel died Wednesday evening, Nov. 21, 2001, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale

He was born March 5, 1955 in Minneapolis the son of R.S. "Bud" and Ruth V. Kath Schendel. On March 20, 1955, he was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waseca. He was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith May 16, 1971, at Salem Evangelical) Lutheran Church in Greenfield by Rev. E.W. Lindemann. His confirmation memory verse was St. John 8:31 and 32.

As a young man, he was a member of the Greenwood 4-H Club and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1973.

On Jan. 15, 1977, Dallas Schendel and Pamela Ann Loeffler were joined in holy marriage. God blessed their marriage with three sons.

Mr. Schendel engaged in trucking for many years having owned and operated Big D's Trucking and Big D's Trolley and Carriage Service. He also formerly operated a limousine service. In February 1991, the Schendels established Country Floral in Buffalo.

He was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield. He belonged to the Sherburne County Agricultural Society, the Northern Draft Horse Association, the Clydesdale Breeders Association and Ducks Unlimited.

He is survived by his wife, Pam; sons, Luke Schendel and his fiancee, Angie LeBrun, Justin Schendel and Nicholas Schendel, all at home; mother, Ruth Schendel of rural Buffalo; brothers, Jim (Karla) Schendel of Hanover and Bill (Joni) Schendel of St. Michael; maternal grandmother, Margie Kath of Waseca; mother-in-law Elizabeth, "Liz" Loeffler of Otsego; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cindy (Randy) Manthei of Loretto, Kathy (Joe) Lundquist of Osseo and Paula (Greg) Krause of Loretto; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, R.S. "Bud" Schendel; father-in-law, Clarence Loeffler; and by his grandparents.

John Styve

Services for John Styve, 58, of Miramar, Fla., formerly of Delano, will be Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Lyndale Lutheran Church in Maple Plain.

Mr. Styve died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001. He is survived by loving and devoted wife, Marge; son, Jason (Michelle) Styve; daughters, Kay (Erik) Fosket and Karen Fitzsimmons; grandchildren, Nathaniel Fosket, Amber Styve, Ashlee Styve, Alek Tomann and Mitchell Tomann and cherished friends and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Lymphoma Research of America, 8800 Venice Blvd., 207, Los Angeles, CA, 90034.

Dale Ulfers

Services for Dale "Bud" Ulfers, 58, of Hanover were 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Hanover.

Mr. Ulfers owned and operated B & D Machine.

He is survived by wife, Donna Ulfers; sons, Scott (Michelle) Ulfers of Hanover and Keith Ulfers of Buffalo; granddaughter, Rachel; sisters, Shirley (Ken) Wethe of Dallas, Texas, and Nancy (Randy) Anderson of Bemidji; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Marie Hoeder of Plymouth; special friend, Jeff LaVigne of Montrose; his dog, Misty; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Rose Ulfers.

Memorials are suggested to Fairview Hospice.

Erwin Eichelberg

Services for Erwin Eichelberg, 86, Aberdeen, S.D., were Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Aberdeen.

Officiating was Rev. Roger Noer. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen.

Mr. Eichelberg died Saturday, Nov. 17, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen.

He is survived by his wife, Ella, Aberdeen, S.D.; two daughters, Charlotte Eichelberg, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Adrienne (John) Deblon, Bloomington; three brothers, Alvin (Mary Ann) Eichelberg, Kansas City, Mo.; Martin Eichelberg, Almont, Mich.; and Elmer (Karol) Eichelberg, St. Michael; three sisters, Olive (Richard) Lafer, Brainerd; Verna Barger, Las Vegas, Nev., and Alma (Ray) Mittleider, Moreno Valley, Calif.; one granddaughter (Jennifer) and two great-grandsons (Nathan & Nicholas).

Mr. Eichelberg is proceeded in death by parents and three brothers.

Mary Hoffman Engesser

Services for Mary Hoffman Engesser, 72, of Winsted and formerly of Rockford, were Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

Concelebrants for the Mass were Fr. Paul L. Wolf and Fr. Martin F. Rath. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo.

Casket bearers were Ronald Longley, Thomas McDaniel, Michael Kutz, James McKnight, Joseph Fiecke and John Hoffman. Honorary casket bearers were Shawn Bauer, Dustin Hoffman and Jamie Funke.

Mrs. Engesser was born Dec. 14, 1928, in Maple Lake the daughter of Bernard "Ben" and Anna Carriveau Kalway. She was a former seamstress and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

She is survived by children, Elizabeth (Darryle) Anderson of Monticello, Barbara (Gary) McDaniel of Victoria, Irene (Bob) Kutz of Winsted, Jackie (Daniel) Bauer of Maple Grove, Mary (Doug) Pawelk of Winsted, John (Jody) Hoffman of Maple Grove, Sandra Fiecke of Howard Lake, James (Julie) Hoffman of Elk River, Joseph Hoffman of Montgomery, Paula (Kelly) Funke and Patricia (Richard) Hessler, all of Apache Junction, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers; three sisters; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by first husband, John Hoffman; parents, Bernard and Anna Kalway; brother, George Kalway; grandsons, Richard Longley, John Fiecke and Mark Kutz; and son-in-law, Robert T. Fiecke.

Martin Lehn

Services for Martin Lehn, 89, of Dayton will be today (Tuesday), Nov. 20, 2001, at 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Walburga Catholic Church, 1202 Fletcher Ln. Fletcher.

Burial will be at St. Walburga Cemetery.

Mr. Lehn was preceded in death by his wife, Anna; and daughter, Rosemary.

Survivors include children, Marianne (Darrell) Peterson, Raymond (Linda) and Robert Lehn; grandchildren, Melissa (Jeff) Erickson and Jennifer (Matthew) Urhammer; and great-granddaughter, Isabella; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Bernard Moshier

Services for Bernard (Bernie) Moshier, 61, of Big Lake were Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church of Big Lake.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Moshier died unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 14.

He was active in MN Hockey Association worked with recruiting and coaching USA Olympic hockey teams, and was an assistannt coach for the Chicago Blackhawks on the NHL.

Survivors include his wife, Rita; sons, John Burt of Fargo, N.D., Mitch Burt of Maple Grove, and Dayne Nelson of Big Lake; daughter, Angela Robertson of Big Lake; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Megan, Hannah and Haley; brothers, Richard Moshier of Bloomington, and Roger Moshier of Sauk Rapids; sisters, Shirley Fry of Danbury Wis., Sr. Judith of Sauk Rapids, and Lois Zahn of St. Cloud.

Marie Munn

Services for Marie E. Munn, 86, of Osseo/Maple Grove will be today (Wednesday), Nov. 21, 2001 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 9100 93rd Ave. N., Brooklyn Park.

Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Mrs. Munn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and five siblings.

Survivors include sons, Larry, Ray, Jim, Bob, Ed, Steve, Mike and Kenny; daughters, Patricia DeBour Moulton, Mary Munn, Annette Munn, Bonnie Cavalier; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Roman and Francis Schommer; sisters, Rosie Dykhoff, Rita Pepin, Betty Farr, Jenny Rambo and Susie Benson.

Donna Nagengast

Services for Donna Mae Nagengast, 78, of Champlin, and formerly of Edina, Padre Island, Texas and Spring, Texas, were Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park.

She is survived by her husband, Jerome, 10; children; 28 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertha Stangl of Duluth.

Contemporary Cremation Society handled arrangements.

Kermit Nielsen

Services for Kermit C. Nielsen, 83, of Loretto, were Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Corcoran

Mr. Nielsen passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001 at the Delano Healthcare Center.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanne A. (Lucier) Jan. 28, 1997.

Sandra Stein

Services for Sandra K. Stein, 56, of Maple Grove were Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel.

Burial was in Amery Cemetery, Amery.

She was preceded in death by parents, Bob and Helen Olson of Amery, Wis.

Survivors include her husband, Jack; sons Christian Johnson and Jack R. Stein; step-daughters, Patti Bojan and husband Gary, Jacki Shawd and husband Ron, Vicki Trees and husband Doug; step-son, Tom Stein; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Donna Arndt and husband Doug, and Barbie Meyer and husband Dick; niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Anthony "Tony" Baldy

Services for Anthony "Tony" Baldy, 80, of Delano were Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Delano.

Rev. Michael Miller officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Crissy Baldy, Bob Baldy, Lynn Baldy, Jennifer Muckenhirn, Paul Muckenhirn, Kristin Rohrer, Tim Plotnik and Tom Plotnik.

Mr. Baldy died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at his residence. He was born June 23, 1921, in Donnelly, Minn., the son of Bartek and Matilda (Gonsior) Baldy. He was married to Jean Baumgarten.

Mr. Baldy worked for 37 and one-half years with Burlington Northern Railroad as a signal maintainer. He also served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Delano and was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was a very family-oriented man who loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and spending time with all of his family and many friends. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing cards and gardening.

He was preceded in death by parents, Bartek and Matilda Baldy; son, Brian; brother, Leo Baldy; brothers-in-law, James Fish and George Plotnik; and sister-in-law, Delores Baldy.

Mr. Baldy is survived by wife, Jean; children, Danny of Willmar, Craig (Evon) Baldy of Maple Plain and Brenda (Tony) Rohrer of Delano; grandchildren, Crissy, Bob and Lynn Baldy, Jennifer and Paul Muckenhirn and Kalin and Kristin Rohrer; brother, George (Jeanne); sisters, Lorraine Plotnik, Regina (Joe) Rosch, Gert Fish, Delores (Bill) Griffin and LaVern (Don) Ross; uncle, Art Gonsior; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Phyllis M. Bolkcom

Services for Phyllis M. Bolkcom, 80, of Plymouth, formerly of Delano, were Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Delano.

Rev. Jeff Hagaman officiated and interment was in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jeff Bolkcom, Richard Bolkcom, James Nimsger, Jeffrey Hart, Brad Bolkcom, Richard Fry, Gerald Fry and Charles Fry.

Mrs. Bolkcom died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at Ridge Point Senior Apartments in Minnetonka. She was born Aug. 11, 1921, in Duluth the daughter of Neil and Elizabeth (Siddall) Brooks. She married Daniel G. Bolkcom in 1945. The couple celebrated 52 years of marriage before Mr. Bolkcom died in March 1998. They moved to Delano in 1956. The couple farmed from 1946 to 1978 and Mrs. Bolkcom was a teacher in the Watertown-Mayer School District for many years.

She was preceded in death by husband, Daniel in 1998. She is survived by sons, Daniel L. (Tanya) Bolkcom, Neil Bolkcom and John Bolkcom; grandchildren, Richard and Katherine Bolkcom and Jennifer Bolkcom; great-granddaughter, Victoria Bolkcom and brother, James Brooks.
