Glenard Tessmer

Services for Glenard E. Tessmer, 80, of Rogers were at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at Abiding Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elk River.

Rev. Timothy L. Bode officiated and interment followed at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Greenfield.

Sandra Ann Zoldahn Schuman was the organist for the funeral service. "Rejoice, Rejoice, Believers," "Lord, Take My Hand and Lead Me," "My Hope is Built on Nothing Less" and "For All The Saints" were sung as congregational hymns.

Casket bearers were Andrew Tessmer, Nathanael Tessmer, Eric Tessmer, Mark Moldenhauer, Peter Garbow, Joshua Naker, Hans Naker, Nicolas Habeck and Phillip Staab.

Mr. Tessmer died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, in Elk River.

He was born May 30, 1922, in Corcoran the son of Gottlieb F. and Alvina E. Bechtold Tessmer.

He was Baptized July 2, 1922, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield by Rev. W.P. Haar Sr. He was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and Confirmed in the Christian faith April 14, 1935, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church by Rev. W.P. Haar. His Confirmation memory verse was Exodus 15:2.

He graduated from Buffalo High School in 1941 and later attended Ag School at the University of Minnesota.

Mr. Tessmer honorably served his country in the occupation forces of the U.S. Army in post World War II Japan.

On March 28, 1948, Glenard E. Tessmer and Dorothy A. Haar were joined in holy marriage at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church by Dorothy's father, Rev. W.P. Haar. God blessed their marriage with six children.

Mr. and Mrs. Tessmer engaged in dairy farming for many years in Corcoran. He lived his entire life on his family's homestead and truly loved dairy farming.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy A. Tessmer; children, Mark (Rosanne) Tessmer of Rogers, Cynthia (Martin) Moldenhauer of Watertown, Wis., Gretchen (David) Habeck of Puyallup, Wash., Juliet (Daniel) Garbow of Saginaw, Mich., Karna (Kevin) Naker of Caledonia, Wis. and Katherine (William) Staab of South St. Paul; 24 grandchildren; a brother, Marvin (Audrey) Tessmer of Rogers; a special friend, Eugene Nelson; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Evelyn E. Lange and a brother, Gerhardt L. Tessmer.

Duane 'Bud' Varner

Services for Duane "Bud" Varner, 70, of Buffalo were Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.

Pastor Carl L. Taylor officiated.

Mr. Varner died Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002. He was born May 15, 1932, in rural Buffalo, the son of Gene and Pearl Middagh Varner.

He honorably served in the U.S. Army. On April 7, 1956, he married Veronica Goeb at the Church of St. Francis in Buffalo. They had one son.

Mr. Varner was employed as a carpenter for many years. He formerly worked for Peterson Construction, Van Lith Construction and TSI.

He enjoyed snowmobiling and going to flea markets and garage sales.

He is survived by loving wife, Veronica J. Varner; son, Rick (Gennifer Pantier) Varner of Buffalo; granddaughter, Caramia Jo Varner; sister, Elaine Teske of Brainerd; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Al (Jeanette) Goeb of Buffalo, Louis Goeb of Corcoran, Marlene Dupont of Buffalo, Marie (Ron) Dehn of Rockford; Deloria (Roger) Weege of Montrose and Larry Kauppi of Corcoran; nieces; nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Angel Varner Sept. 29, 1997, and parents, Gene and Pearl Varner.

Robert A. Anderson

Services for Robert A. (Andy) Anderson, 71, of Champlin were Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at the Champlin United Methodist Church.

He died Nov. 14 at Bethesda Rehabilitation Hospital in St. Paul. Andy was born Dec. 13, 1930, in Minneapolis. He worked as a mechanic with Operating Engineers Local 49. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Linda (Randy) Thibault, Pamela Anderson, Danny (Peggy); and grandchildren, Mindy, Anne, and Kristi.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Eric N. Applen

Services for Eric N. Applen, 17, of Champlin were Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at Anoka St. Stephen's Catholic Church.

He died Nov. 12 at his home after a courageous battle with bone cancer. He is survived by his parents, Mark and Jan; sisters, Megan and Jackie; grandparents, Bob and Irene Nicolin; many aunts, uncles, other relatives and freinds. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Barb and Eugene Applen. He was a senior of Champlin Park High School.

Joseph Conrad

Services for Joseph E. Conrad, 61, of Rogers were at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at St. Walburga Catholic Church in Fletcher.

Rev. John J. Bussmann was the celebrant and interment followed at St. Walburga Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Mr. Conrad's three sons: Kelly, Terry and Jimmy Conrad; and Jake Henry, Matt Nelson and Jesse Ward, friends of the sons.

Mr. Conrad died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at his residence after an intense battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

He was born Jan. 24, 1941, in Minneapolis the son of Joseph and Grace Leighton Conrad.

On Jan. 3, 1976, Joseph Conrad and Evelyn Frandup were joined in holy marriage at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Vermillion. God blessed their marriage with three sons.

Mr. Conrad was a former 44-year employee of Marshall Fields (Dayton's). He also belonged to St. Walburga Catholic Church in Fletcher, Early Ford V-8, Minnesota Street Rod and Mini Birds.

He is survived by wife, Evelyn Conrad; loving sons, Kelly (Kristin) Conrad, Terry Conrad and Jimmy Conrad; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Art and Marian Frandrup; brother-in-law, Donal O'Donnell Sr.; sister-in-law, Sylvia Conrad; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by parents, Joe and Grace Conrad; sister, Kathleen O'Donnell; and brother, Robert L. Conrad.

Suzanne Harrington

Services for Suzanne Harrington, 48, of Osseo will be Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.

Interment will be in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Osseo.

She was born Oct. 19, 1954, in Minneapolis. She died Nov. 3, 2002, in Osseo.

She is survived by special friend, Kevin Lane; children, Jennifer (Marvin) Miller, Matthew Harrington, Travis and Nicholas Lane; grandson, Anthony Miller; mother, Pearl Lynch; siblings, Joseph (Shirley) Lynch, Patricia Lynch, Marie Wrobel, James (Mary) Lynch, Judy (Mike) Slattery and Larry Lynch; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by loving father, Joseph Lynch.

Edward Juntunen

Services for Edward W. Juntunen, 77, of Soudan, were Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Soudan. Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery, Tower.

He died Tuesday, Nov. 5, at his daughter's home in Maple Grove.

Juntunen is survived by son, Paul (Mary) Juntunen of Maple Grove; daughters, Mary (Chuck LeMieur) Juntunen of Maple Grove, and Carol (Dean Peterson) Wolfgram of Brooklyn Park; and four grandchildren.

Gerald J. LeNoue

Services for Gerald J. LeNoue, 76, of Delano were Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano.

Rev. Michael Miller officiated and military honors were provided by the Delano American Legion Post 377. Firefighter honors were provided by the Delano Fire Department. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Delano.

Pallbearers were Jack Russek, Craig Sinkel, Mark Motzko, RoxAnn Splettstozer, Cathy Hatzenberger and Lawrence Gagnon. Honorary bearers were Dathan Brummer, Amanda Brummer, Eliott Kranz, Alex Kranz, Dustin LeNoue, Brandon LeNoue, Nicholas Hintz and Andrea Hintz.

Mr. LeNoue died at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis Thursday, Oct. 24. He was born June 22, 1926, in Kent, Minn., the son of Leo and Pearl (Berg) LeNoue. He was a member of the Delano Fire Department for 20 years. He was also a member of the Delano American Legion Post 377. He worked at the Delano Granite Works for 27 years and retired from Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis after 17 years.

After retirement, Mr. LeNoue spent many hours on area lakes fishing with friends and grandchildren. He was active in community events. He also enjoyed cooking, dancing and gardening.

He is prececed in death by his wife, Isla (Lowe) LeNoue; parents, Leo and Pearl LeNoue; stepmother, Bernice LeNoue; brother, Warren "Shorty" LeNoue; sisters, Evelyn Otto and Carol Manha and infant sister, Carol LeNoue.

He is survived by wife, Ruth; daughters, Cherilyn Brummer of Watauga, Texas, and Susan (Phil) Kranz of St. Bonifacius; stepson, Byron (Linda) LeNoue of Anoka; stepdaughter, Roxann (Bill) Hintz of Anoka; grandchildren, Dathan Brummer, Amanda Brummer, Eliott Kranz, Alex Kranz, Dustin LeNoue, Brandon LeNoue, Nicholas Hintz and Andrea Hintz; brothers, Orville (Emma) LeNoue of Penn Valley, Calif., David (Diane) LeNoue of Pinole, Calif., and Robin LeNoue of California; sisters, Ruby Weege of Delano, Marge (Rollie) Trask of Sterling, Va., Bonnie (Clarence) Bjorkstrand of Minneapolis and Rosealie Myers of Overland Park, Kan.

Thomas F. Mosford

Thomas F. Mosford, 60, of Montrose, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at his home.

He is survived by wife, Jo Nell; sons, Charles and Douglas and grandsons, Drake and Daniel. There were private family services.

May Pelto

Services for May M. Pelto, 88, of Maple Grove, formerly of Lake Sylvia (Annandale), will take place Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in French Lake.

Pelto died Nov. 11. She is survived by son, Gary McCullum; granddaughter, Kelly McCullum; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Fred W. McCullum; and second husband, Palmer "Ernie" Pelto.

Zoe Phillips

A Memorial Service for Zoe Ann Philips, 44, was held at Cremation Society Brooklyn Park Chapel Sunday, Oct. 24, 2002, and Remer Town Hall Saturday, Nov. 2.

Ms. Phillips was born Aug. 29, 1958, in Grand Rapids, and died Oct. 20.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and special friend, Paul Armstrong; survived by daughters, Sybil (Chris) Osmek and Andrea Phillips; grandchildren, Adreanna Rose, Tira Anne, Steven Christopher Matthew, and Shayla Mae-Ann; brother, Tom (Becky) Cole; sisters, Rose (Mike) Loeffler and Valorie (Kevin) Whitmer; one step-sister and step-brother.

Rhonda Peterson-Shealy

Services for Rhonda Jean Peterson-Shealy, 55, of Howard Lake were Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.

Deacon Joseph Kittok officiated and inurnment was in Calvary She died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at North Memorial Medical Center, the result of a car accident. She was born Oct. 6, 1947, to Arthur and Patricia (Stuntebeck) Peterson in Minneapolis.

Her life was her children. She was a single mother who spent her focus on her kids. She was also an antiquarian who loved collecting and selling antiques.

She was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Patricia Peterson. She is survived by children, Jason Grady Shealy and fiancee, Clarissa Stephanie Gallion, Travis Arthur Shealy and Trina Shealy (Erik Steven) Orton; sister, Mary Louise Whitlow; niece, Melanie Claire Brunell; Stephen Charles Gallion and Richard Anthony Gallion and cousins, Scott (Jane) Stuntebeck and Clarence (Doreen) Mueller.

Shirley Rains

Services for Shirley Eileen Rains, 67, of Brooklyn Park Services were Monday, Nov. 11, 2002, at St. Gerard's Catholic Church.

Mrs. Rains died Nov. 7. She was born April 16, 1935, in St. Cloud.

She is survived by husband, Thomas; sons, Timothy (Shari), Dennis (Barbara), Thomas, Christopher (Annette); daughters, Deborah (Michael) Premo, Mary (Jeff) Englund, Paula (Jeff) Losleben, Pamela (Donald) Nelson, and Nancy (Chet) Hicok; brothers, Duane Franke and Bruce Franke; sister, Mary Henrich; daughter-in-law, Azeexa Vega; 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Interment was at Gethsemane Cemetery, New Hope. Arrangements were by Evans Nordby Funeral Homes, Osseo.

Thomas L. Stotko

Services for Thomas L. Stotko, 60, of Buffalo, formerly of Delano, were Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.

Sister Mary Butzer officiated. Pallbearers were Greg Neddermeyer, Steve Neddermeyer, Rich Neddermeyer, Mike Neddermeyer, Ron Peppin and Wade Barfknecht.

Mr. Stotko died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at Monticello Big Lake Community Hospital in Monticello. He was born Oct. 24, 1942, in Watertown to Lawrence and Emma (Vorderbruggen) Stotko.

Mr. Stotko worked in road construction for the majority of his life. He was known as a jack of all trades. He was skilled in carpentry and welding. He was a self-taught musician, who could hear a piece of music and play it back by ear. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing.

He is preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Emma Stotko; brother, John "Jack" and sister, Joan Trachman.

He is survived by children, Roxanne Stotko and Matthew (Lori) Stotko; granddaughter, Cortney Stotko; sister, Gail Barfknecht; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.

James Tuzinski

Services for James J. Tuzinski, 74, of Champlin, were Tuesday Nov. 5, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 70th & Halifax, Brooklyn Center, with at Fort Snelling.

He died Nov. 1, 2002. He was a practicing attorney for 35 years active in the community, WWII vet and loving husband and father.

He is survived by wife and best friend of 53 years, June; children, Terry (Dale) Carter, Tom (Jan), Mary Ann (Douglas) Sauter, Peter (Kim), Elizabeth (William) Erhart, Jeanette (Kevin Carlson), Kathleen (Alex Dashe), 19 grandchildren; brother Jack (Barbara) and sister, Pat Levoir.
