Earl M. Bergeson

Services for Earl M. Bergeson, 72, of Maple Grove, formerly of Wayzata were Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayzata.

Interment was at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Maple Grove.

He died peacefully with his family at his side Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003.

Mr. Bergeson was a supervisor with the MN Department of Transportation where he worked for 39 years.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy; children, Jim (Wende), Joan Boyle, Cathy (Charles) Finnet, Jeffrey (Jona); grandchildren, Jackie (Paul) Ludwig, Brooke, Brittany, Brady, Blake, Paige, Hannah, and Heather; brothers, Lloyd (Lois) and Marlin; and sister, Doris Pitcher.

Mr. Bergeson is preceded in death by his brother Gordon; granddaughters, Rachel and Mikayla Bergeson; and son-in-law, Dale Boyle.

Memorials may be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Clifford James Hayes

Clifford James Hayes age 79 of Plymouth, died on Friday, November 10, 2003 at his home in Plymouth. Cliff was born April 23, 1924 to Andrew H. and Josephine (Rogers) Hayes in Montrose, Minnesota.

Cliff was a longtime employee of Minnetonka City Works. He was known as an outdoorsman, enjoying all forms of hunting and fishing. Cliff was an accomplished baseball player, playing on a variety of different teams in his younger years. He was inducted into the State baseball Hall of Fame in 1998.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his wife Jean of 57 years. 2 sons, Michael and Sue Hayes and Patrick Hayes, 3 daughters: Kate and Gary Evans, Peggy Hayes, and Nancy and Mike Kaluzne, 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, brother Gene and Janet Hayes and sister Patricia and George Schaar, sisters-in-law: Betty, Marion, Marian and Shirley Hayes.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano. Rev. Michael Miller officiated, with Margaret Groskreutz, organist, and the Resurrection Choir providing music. Casketbearers were Cliff's Grandsons: Michael Hayes Jr., Charles Hayes, Matthew Hayes, Bobby Kaluzne, Christopher Lang, Corey Hayes, Rick Hayes, Daniel Hayes, and Chad Hayes. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Delano, Minnesota.

Florence Catherine Odenthal

Florence Catherine Odenthal age 91 of Delano died on Saturday, November 15, 2003 at Delano, Minnesota. She was born March 24, 1912 to Albert and Catherine (Knott) Pillatzke in Bellingham, Minnesota.

Florence married Albert A. Odenthal on April 3, 1934 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Buffalo, Minnesota. Florence and Albert made their home in the Delano area, where they farmed and raised their family.

Florence enjoyed cooking, especially for a group. In the years past, Florence had been employed as a cook at a number of restaurant/country clubs, including: Hazeltine, The Lafayettee Club, the Minnetonka County Club, and the Wayzata County Club. Other interests included playing 500, Bingo, and spending time at the Delano Senior Center. Florence was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano.

Florence is preceded in death by her husband Albert. She is survived by her children, daughter Alberta and Gill Scheiber, sons: Lawrence, Robert and Barb, Jerome and Bonnie and Joe and Judy, 19 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday at 11 AM at November 20, 2003 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano. Visitation was on Wednesday afternoon and evening from 4 to 8 PM at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano. Visitation continued on Thursday morning at the funeral home prior to services at the church. Rev. Michael Miller officiated, with Margaret Groskreutz, organist, and the Resurrection Choir providing music. Casket bearers were Florence's grandchildren.

Dorothy E. Hartkopf

Services for Dorothy E. Hartkopf, 89, of Osseo were Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Osseo.

Interment was at Glen Haven Cemetery in Crystal.

Mrs. Hartkopf died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, in Robbinsdale. She was born Nov. 6, 1914, in Martin, N.D.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Osseo, and was a former member of the Osseo Book Club, Dorcus Society, MEA and NEA.

Mrs. Hartkopf is survived by her husband, William; sons, L. Thomas (Susan) Lemke of Rochester and Robert (Linda) Hartkopf of Minnetonka; daughter-in-law, Donna Hartkopf of Franklin, Ind.; grandchildren, Rick Hartkopf, Mike Hartkopf, Kirsten Lemke and Renee Nesnidal; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her son, Wayne Hartkopf.

If so, desired memorials may be given to the Dorothy Hartkopf Memorial Fund.

Joseph Milinkovich

Services for Joseph Milinkovich, 67, of St. Michael were Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael.

Rev. Michael Becker was the celebrant. Jan Delozier was the soloist.

Interment with military rites were at St. Michael Cemetery.

Casket bearers were James Kampa, Tom Drennen, Lew Nelson, Mike Maro, Dan Drennen and Jason Rikimoto.

Mr. Milinkovich went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, after a long courageous battle with a brain tumor.

He was born Nov. 12, 1935, in Duluth, the son of Steve and Ann Fister Milinkovich.

He honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was self-employed for all of his life.

On April 15, 1953, Joseph Milinkovich and MaryAnn Deneweth were joined in marriage. God blessed their marriage with six children.

Mr. Milinkovich was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

He and his wife MaryAnn managed the Countryside Cottages in St. Michael for more than nine years.

He is survived by wife, MaryAnn; a son, Wayne of Big Lake; daughters, Sandra of Champlin, Debra of Maple Grove, Mary Jo of Bartley, Neb., Karen of Maple Grove and JoAnn of Monticello; 13 grandchildren; one great grandson; sisters, Fran of Superior, Wis., and Josephine of Wrenshall; brothers, John, Stanley and Matt, all of Superior, Steve Jr. of Arizona, Don of Ramsey and Tom of Superior; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Ann; and an infant grandson, Joey.

A special thank you to Allina Hospice Care, Dr. Randa, Joseph's doctor and friend, and the entire staff at Guardian Angels Nursing Home in Elk River.

Philip DeJarlais

Services for Philip DeJarlais, 89, were Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at 1 p.m at the Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, with Chaplain Rex Beyer offficiating.

Mr. DeJarlais was born June 11, 1914, in Champlin, Minn., and died Oct. 30, 2003, in his residence in Champlin.

Mr. DeJarlais worked as a superintendent at Hoffman Enginneering and was a 37-year employee of Federal Cartridge and Hoffman Engineering until his retirement in 1979. He was also a Ham Radio operator.

He is preceded in death by wives, Della in 1966, and Elizabeth in 2000; brothers, Leo and Kenneth. He is survived by daughters, Diana (Darrell) Norton, Elisabeth (Arthur) Headley; stepdaughter, Pat (Keith) Hesli; stepson, Boyd Barrott; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grand children; and sister, Inez Fredrickson.

Honorary Pallbearers were Mary Norton and Jill Norton. Active Pallbearers were Terry Hesli, Todd Hesli, Troy Hesli, Jamie Barrott, James Norton, Christian Norton, Theodore Norton, Aaron Hedley. Interment was at the Champlin Cemetery.

Lambert Peter Bukowski

Lambert Peter Bukowski age 90 of Rockford, died on Tuesday, October 28, 203 at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. He was born July 9, 1913 to John and Lucy (Polker) Bukowski in Rockford, Minnesota.

Lambert was a lifelong member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Loretto. He was a lifelong resident and farmer in the Rockford/Loretto area. Lambert enjoyed spending time with his family. Another favorite past time was fishing.

Lambert is preceded in death by his wife, Helen (VanLith), and a grandson Todd Ristau. Lambert is survived by his sons: Bill Bukowski, and Tom and Judy Bukowski, daughters: Linda and John Franzen, Susan and Dave Ristau-Pawlitschek, Nancy and George Choban, Kathleen and Bill Woollard, Carol and Joe Faue, Julie and Sam Zimmermann, Joellen and Keith Nelson, Connie and Larry Leuer, 20 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, sisters: Rose and Clem Schumacher, and Emily Lesnau.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, October 31, 2003 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Loretto, Minnesota. Rev.. Brian Fier officiated, with Therese Borrell, organist, and Greg Elsen, soloist providing music. Casket bearers were Lambert's grandchildren. Interment was in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Loretto, Minnesota.

Arrangements by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, Minnesota.

Arlene A. Busse

Services for Arlene A. Busse, 75, of New Hope, formerly of Maple Grove, will be Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Elim Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale.

Interment will be at Maine Prairie Cemetery in Kimball.

Mrs. Busse died peacefully in her sleep at Northridge Care Center in New Hope.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Daniel Stock; grandchildren, Kyle, Wade, Ross, and Lane; brothers and sisters, Lorraine Adelemann, Bernard (Florence) Dvorak, Celeste Lorimer, Marilyn Dvorak, Delores (Vern) Hartzell, Vera (Jim) Seiler, Veryl (Del) Scharber, Dennis (Doreen) Dvorak; many other loving nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her deeply.

Mrs. Busse is preceded in death by her husband, Homer; and brothers, Virgil and Clement.

She was a longtime member of Elim Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Philip DeJarlais

Mavis L. DuBois

Services for Mavis L. DuBois, 76, of Maple Grove were Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Brooklyn United Methodist Church in Brooklyn Center.

Interment was private and for the family.

Mrs. DuBois died peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003. She was born Dec. 2, 1926, in Bozeman, Mont., to Benjamin and Kathleen Purdom.

She was retired from US West and spent years camping, traveling, and spending time with those she loved.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Vale, Charlene Ablan, and Linda Bornhuse; brother, Raymond (Jean) Purdom; grandchildren, Heidi (Mike) Bornhuse-Hanson, Shannon Bornhuse, Jennifer Nisbit, Joshua DuBois, Travis DuBois, and Ashley DuBois; great-grandson, Russell Lannier; step-children, Don (Joyce) DuBois, Darlene Tilton, Jerry (Bev) DuBois, Jim (Karen) DuBois, and their families; also by Karl Bornhuse, Deb (Wayne) Lannen, Randy (Karen) Purdom, and many wonderful friends.

Mrs. DuBois is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde DuBois; son, Kenneth DuBois; son-in-law, Jerry Vale; and step-daughter, Barb Gallagher.

Brandon J. Fish

Services for Brandon Jay Fish, 40, of Apple Valley were Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at Fourth Baptist Church in Plymouth.

Interment was at Holy Name Cemetery.

Mr. Fish was called home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003. He took up his cross and persevered through a three-year battle with brain cancer.

He was surrounded daily by his love for cars at Dodge of Burnsville. Prior to Dodge of Burnsville, he was employed by Cullinan Creative Group in Minneapolis.

Mr. Fish was a born-again Christian with a hunger for God's truth. He was proud to be an American and had some involvement with local politics.

He was also athletic. He ran Grandma's Marathon in 1994 and 1995 and participated in the 1993 Gopher State Body Building contest.

Mr. Fish enjoyed landscaping and being out in God's creation - hiking, biking, water-skiing, running and snowmobiling.

He was a devoted family man and an active member of Eden Baptist Church in Savage. This is the church where he was saved, baptized, and married.

Mr. Fish was a hard-worker, early-riser and an all-around great guy.

He is survived by his wife of six and half years, Jennifer, and their children, Dawson, 5, Audrey, 4, and Olivia, 2; parents, Ron Fish and Marlys Schaefer; sisters, Lisa (Dale) Novak, Sara (James) Blake, Angela Fish, and Christie Fish; brother, Eric (Garieanne) Fish; grandma, Florence Schaefer; nieces and nephews; close relatives, many friends, neighbors and loyal car customers.

Mr. Fish is preceded in death by brother, Justin; grandpa, Matthew Schaefer; great-grandpa, Les Ahrens; grandma, Doris Fish; and uncle, Mark Schaefer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to his family.
