David Jobes
Services for David Ralph Jobes, 42, of Corcoran and formerly of St. Michael were Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Corcoran.
Rev. Debra Clausen officiated an internment followed at Weaver Lake Cemetery. Leanne Colebank LaFave was the organist for the funeral service and Katie Williamson the soloist.
Casket bearers were Randy Neumann, Barry Rathbun, Henry Dalbec, Jeff Peterson, Ralph Smith and Scott Treptau.
Mr. Jobes died Tuesday, Sept. 9, at his residence. He was born on Feb. 5, 1961, in Minneapolis the son of Gordon and Erma Klatt Jobes.
He graduated from Rockford High School in 1979, where he was involved with wrestling, football and track.
He was self-employed as a carpenter for many years.
Mr. Jobes is survived by a daughter, Rachel Jobes of Tampa, Fla.; his parents, Gordon and Erma Jobes of Corcoran; two brothers and a sister, Larry (Carol) Jobes of Rogers, Dennis Jobes of Corcoran and Nancy (Jeff) Francis of Fosston; four nieces and nephews: Jonathan and Jenny Jobes and Casey and Shelly Francis; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Rudolph D. Miller
Services for Rudolph D. (Pete) Miller, 73, of Maple Grove were Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 at Victory Baptist Church in Maple Grove.
Interment was at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his daughter, Gloria (Robert) Scherbing; grandchildren, Andrew and Elizabeth; brothers, Conrad (Ruth), Rev. David (Donna) and Lowell (Arlene); sisters-in-law, Gladys and Bertha Miller, Dorothy (Rev. Edward) Menaldino and Margaret (Ralph) Johnson; nieces and nephews.
Mr. Miller is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys E.; and brothers, Stanley and Robert.
Memorials are preferred to the church.
Vera A. Schaefer
Services for Vera A. Schaefer, 92, of Osseo were Wednesday, Sept. 24 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Corcoran.
Interment was at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
Mrs. Schaefer died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003 in Robbinsdale. She was born April 4, 1911 in Hooper, Neb.
Mrs. Schaefer was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son, Donald (Edna) Schaefer of Alberta; daughters, Lois (Eugene) Marxhausen of Rollingstone and Caroline Schaefer of Osseo; sister, Esther (Lloyd) Butterfass of Waverly; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Schaefer is preceded in death by her husband, Harold E.
If so desired memorials may be given to the Vera A. Schaefer Memorial Fund.
Gerald Schwarzkopf
Services for Gerald Melvin Schwarzkopf, 66, of Monticello, formerly of Rockford, were Thursday Sept. 18, 2003, at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello with Rev. R.W. Oltmanns officiating.
Interment was in Bird Island Cemetery in Bird Island, Minn.
Mr. Schwarzkopf died Monday Sept. 15, 2003, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Bird Island to Melvin and Lillian (Steihm) Schwarzkopf. He grew up in the Bird Island area. Following high school, he entered the U.S. Navy and served from 1955 to 1959. He then lived in the Minneapolis area for many years and was employed as a machinist for Honeywell for more than 24 years. In 1978 he moved to Rockford, and then to Monticello three years ago. He loved sports, especially football, baseball and basketball. He umpired softball for many years. He was a longtime member of the Eagles' Club, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Schwarzkopf is survived by four children: Rhonda Leeper of Albertville, Sandra (Anthony) Roth of Maple Grove, Bryan (Patty) Schwarzkopf of Big Lake, and Allan (Katie) Schwarzkopf of Elk River; 10 grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Judy (Jim) Tilock of Minneapolis, and Liane (Mark) Yungerberg of Willmar; and former wife Beverly Pearson of Monticello.
He was preceded in death by his father Melvin, mother Lillian, step-father Lynn Bowler, brother Allan, and nephew Dean Reiter.
William Taylor
Services for William Taylor, 87, of Big Lake, were Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Rev. Larry Rehlander from Our Father's Lutheran Church in Rockford officiated with military honors provided by the Ft. Snelling honor guard.
Mr. Taylor died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at the Delano Healthcare Center. He was born Aug. 25, 1916 to Cranshaw and Lena (Ploff) Taylor in Edina.
He was in construction during his years of employment. He was a member of laborer union local 563. He served his country in the civilian conservation corps prior to serving in the Navy during World War II. He achieved the rank of Tech 4 prior to his honorable discharge. Mr. Taylor was a past member of the Hopkins VFW post and is a current member of the Big Lake American Legion Post 147.
After leaving the service, Mr. Taylor made his home in Minnetonka where he and his wife lived until 1978, at which time they moved to Big Lake. He was a handyman, known for being able to fix things. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by wife, Mabel and daughter, Joyce Grahn. He is survived by grandchildren, Ron (Verlee) Grahn, Rich (Kathy) Grahn and Ronda (Jim) Wirgau; six great-grandchildren and brother, Robert Taylor.
Rita Friedman Voss
Services for Rita Friedman Voss, 60, of Maple Grove were Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, at Temple Israel in Minneapolis.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mrs. Friedman Voss was the former executive director of Peau Suin Skin Care Co. She was also a model, entrepreneur and salesperson.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald of Maple Grove; son, Larry Friedman and granddaughter, Briannah, both of Rochester; brother, Howard Feinberg of Granada Hills, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to MOCA (Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance), 4200 County Rd. 42 W., Savage, MN 55378.
Paul 'Ted' Altringer
Services for Paul "Ted" Clayton Altringer, 88, of Rockford were Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto.
Father Brian J. Fier was the celebrant and interment followed at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
Honorary casket bearer was Nicholas Schaub.
Casket bearers were Wendy Jarosh, Jerry Wren, Brad Thingvold, Jeffrey Pool, Paul Gregory Altringer and Matthew Schaub.
Mr. Altringer died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, at his residence. He was born April 27, 1915, in Wimbledon, N.D., the son of Louis John and Luella (Hanson) Altringer.
On Nov. 25, 1938, Paul "Ted" Altringer and Lois Ann Wheeler were joined in holy marriage in Minneapolis. God blessed their marriage with seven children.
Mr. Altringer moved his family from St. Louis Park to Rockford in 1962 where he and his children built the Tower Terrace Mobile Home Park.
He was a faithful member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Loretto. He also formerly belonged to the Knights of Columbus, the Family Motor Coach Association and the Moose Club. He was a very generous man who had a zest for life. He will be dearly missed.
Mr. Altringer is survived by his wife, Lois Altringer; children, Sandra Jarosh (Neal deceased), Paulette (Hal) Teuteberg, Carole (Doug) Thingvold, Holly (Harley) Pool, Paul (Gerry) Altringer, Rosemary (Dave) Schaub and Jessie Altringer; 19 grandchildren, Wendy Jarosh, Robin Brunkow, Melissa Ilaug and Alicia Jarosh, Jerry Wren and Tammy Gruenhagen, Sheri Thingvold, Shelly Redepenning, Brad Thingvold and Jennifer Thingvold, Jeffrey Pool and Heather Kalis, Paul Gregory Altringer, Angela (Altringer) Kruger, Beth (Bergeson) Altringer, Steve Bergeson and John Bergeson, Matthew Schaub and Nicholas Schaub; 29 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Luella Altringer; two brothers, Al and Lawrence Altringer and by a sister, Frances Schwalk.
Gary J. Anderson
Services for Gary J. Anderson, 59, of Maple Grove were Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Brooklyn Park.
Interment was at Resurrection Cemetery.
Mr. Anderson died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, in the loving arms of his wife, Donna, surrounded by family.
He graduated from Murray High School in 1961, the University of Minnesota with a bachelor of science degree in business in 1970, and the University of Minnesota with a masters of education in 1979. He successfully completed the Bush Foundation Executive Fellows Program in 1977-78.
Mr. Anderson's greatest love was being with his family and many friends with whom he enjoyed playing cards, games and golf. His love of sports showed through his playing, coaching and watching.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Deborah (Mike) Berglund, Gary John (Kristen), Joseph (Lisa) Dara, and Denise (Jim) Berger; grandchildren, Meagan, Cassie, Jared, Kailyn, Elle, Kylie, Jacob, Hunter, Jolie and Ian; brother, Edward; and many other relatives, friends and co-workers.
Mr. Anderson is preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Ruby E. Bergee
Services for Ruby E. Bergee, 87, were Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003 at the Washburn-McReavy Duschane Chapel.
She is survived by her husband, Helge "Doc;" daughters, Dorothy (Chuck) Grandstand of Wyoming, and Darlene (Al) Buchholz of Maple Grove; son, Don (Carol) Bergee of Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Gary Buswell
Services for Gary Buswell, 63, of Maple Grove were Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003.
Mr. Buswell died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003. He was born March 6, 1940. He graduated from Winona High School in 1958. He worked for General Mills from 1967 to 1989.
Mr. Buswell is survived by his companion, Carol McKellips; mother, Violet; brother, Wayne; and sister, Dianne Baker.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Bud.
JoAnne H. DuCharme
Services for JoAnne H. (Hemen) DuCharme, 71, of Maple Grove were Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Maple Grove.
Interment was at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Maple Grove.
She passed away Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003.
Mrs. DuCharme was a long-time employee of Precision Gasket Co. of Edina.
She is survived by her sons, Robert and George Hemen; guardian angel and caregiver, Teresa Stroupe; friend, Charles A.; grandchildren, Ryan, Gretchen, Anthony and Hannah; brothers, Clyde (Grenith) of Milwaukee and Robert G. of Phoenix, Ariz.; many nieces and nephews; best friend, Doris Gilmore; and the Ladies Bridge Club.
Mrs. DuCharme is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Anna Frick; and brother, Lloyd M.

Robert H. Erickson
Services for Robert H. "Olie" Erickson, 67, of Maple Plain, were Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at the Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain.
Rev. David Garwick officiated at the service.
Mr. Erickson died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at his home in Maple Plain. He was born July 5, 1936 to Carl O. and Esther L. (Anderson) Erickson in Minneapolis.
He was a longtime employee of the Hams property. He was a handyman; a "jack of all trades," as well as being a farmer. He was an active member of the Mound AA group and has been a longtime resident of the Lyndale/Maple Plain area.
He is survived by brother, Harvey; sister, Doris Guthrie and nephews, Jeff and Jerry Guthrie.
Lillian Fredericksen
Services for Lillian Fredericksen, 89, of Maple Grove were Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at Calvary Lutheran Church of Golden Valley.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Mrs. Fredericksen was a World War II vet and a long-time employee of Honeywell.
She is survived by her sister, Evelyn; sister-in-law, Betty; nephews, Randy (Connie), Paul (Jan) Fredericksen, and Rick Wells; nieces, Karen (Steve) Hoyle, Susan Wells and Barbara (Harry) Sommerer; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Fredericksen is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth; and sister, Lucille Wells.
Memorials are preferred.
