Gerald Norberg

Services for Gerald "Jerry" Norberg, 64, of Coon Rapids, formerly of the Anoka/Champlin area were Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at the Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel in Anoka.

Interment was private at Forest Hill Cemetery.

He died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. He was born Sept. 3, 1940, in Thief River Falls to Milton and Agnes Norberg.

Mr. Norberg was a member of the Iron Workers #512.

He is survived by his daughters, Lanette (Brent) Hillebrand, Dolores (Kurt) Koppi, Dawn (Todd) Pearson, Joy Thompson; eight grandchildren; mother, Agnes Norberg; brothers, Charles (Rae Ann), Milton (Ruth), Jon (Mary), Lyle (Linda); sisters, Sarann Nordhausen, Verna (Dwight) Goor.

Dean L. Schroeder

Services for Dean L. Schroeder, 42, of Montrose were Thursday, May 19, 2005, at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted.

Rev. Delburn Krutz officiated. Private Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery in Waverly. Alice Nowak provided special music for the funeral service.

Mr. Schroeder died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at his residence. He was born on April 26, 1963, in Watertown, the son of Alvin and Janette Lindenberg Schroeder.

He formerly owned and operated The Corner Bar in Waverly.

He was preceded in death by his father: Alvin "Sonny" Schroeder and by a loving friend: Carol Ann Sandburg.

Mr. Schroeder is survived by his mother, Janette (Gordon) Bratvold of Montrose; brother, Dale (Lynn) Schroeder, also of Montrose; nieces, nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Helen Ehrmantraut

Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Ehrmantraut, 76, of Champlin was Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church.

Interment was at the Calvary Cemetery in Anoka.

Mrs. Ehrmantraut died Friday, May 27, 2005, at Mercy Hospital.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Deacon Dominic; children, Dwight, Blaine (Mary), Kay (Duane) Peterson, Sheela (Jim) Greenlund, Marc (Nancy), Loren (Lynn), Michelle (Bruce) Johnson, Maryhelen (Alan) Westlund, Conrad (Kris); 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; five sisters; many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

David N. Kennedy

Services David N. Kennedy, 62 of Rockford, were Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.

Rev. Carl Taylor officiated the service, and Marlene Mohwinkel was the organist.

Visitation was Monday, May 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Kennedy died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, in Rockford, Ill. He was born April 3, 1943, in Grand Rapids the son to John and Elfreida Pruesse Kennedy.

He was an owner/operator truck driver. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, animals and cooking. He especially cared for family and dear friends. He was never afraid to start new things and was willing to help those in need. He had a gift of gab and was a cowboy at heart.

He is survived by his sister, Molly Butterfield of Marshalltown, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Shannen Butterfield, Kathleen (Mike) Stacey, Cortland Buttrfield and Erin Butterfield; special friends, Barb Weber of Buffalo, Carol and Bill Norton of Rockford, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Macella T. Engstrom

Services for Macella T. Engstrom, 82, of Medina were Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Private interment.

Mrs. Engstrom was preceded in death by her first husband, Idan Camrud; three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by loving husband, John P. Engstrom; son, Merlin (Donna) Camrud; daughter, Loretta (Terry) Whitlock; daughter, Jill LeMoine; sons, John M. and James A. Engstrom; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Flom; many loving relatives and friends.

Mrs. Engstrom retired from the First System Agency, and was very active in all aspects of Trinity Lutheran Church. During her retirement, Marcella loved gardening and cooking for her family and friends.

Memorials preferred to either Trinity Lutheran Church or Presbyterian Homes on Lake Minnetonka, Hospice Unit.

Jerry 'Spanky' Lanars

Services for Jerry "Spanky" Lanars, 39, of Rockford were Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto.

Rev. Brian Fier and Deacon Darrel Courier officiated at the service. Interment was in the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Loretto.

Mr. Lanars died Saturday, May 21, 2005, at his home in Rockford. He was born Nov. 11, 1965 to Ivan and Lila Lanars in Buffalo.

He was united in marriage to Nancy Seidenkranz on June 7, 2003, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto.

Mr. Lanars enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting, snowmobiling and riding his motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his niece and nephews, Amanda Kasheimer, Tyler Kasheimer and Steven Paine and Godparents Dora and Tom Becker.

Mr. Lanars is survived by his wife, Nancy; parents, Ivan and Lila Lanars; brothers, David and Debbie Lanars and Bruce and Tammy Lanars; sisters, Karen and Rick Jorges, Donna and David Wiemann, Linda and Pat Paine, Nancy and Howard Kasheimer and Merry Lanars and special friend Todd; parents-in-law, Jay and Betty Seidenkranz; nieces and nephews, Jenny, Andy, Kyle and Joey Jorges, Dianna and Nicholas Wiamann, Alicia and Brittany Lanars, Jessica, Travis and Kayla Kasheimer, Zachary and Lucas Lanars and Danny and Michael Paine.

Gary Schwenzfeier

Services for Gerhardt J. "Gary" Schwenzfeier, 71, of Albertville, were Friday, May 20, 2005, at Life in Christ Lutheran Church, Albertville, with Rev. Michael Trask officiating.

Interment was in Hanover Village Cemetery in Hanover.

The organist was Gwen Worner. The soloist was Kip Christianson, who sang "The King of Love My Shepherd Is." Congregational hymns were "Abide With Me" and "Beautiful Savoir."

Casket bearers were Byron Bethke, Roland Wenz, Roger Schwenzfeier, Ralph Nordine, Dennis Yerxa and L.J. Vacek.

Mr. Schwenzfeier died Monday, May 23, at his home. He was born Feb. 8, 1934, in Orleans, Minn., to the late Leonard and Hattie (Johnson) Schwenzfeier.

He grew up on a farm near Orleans and graduated from Lancaster High School, Class of 1952. He worked for the railroad before entering the U.S. Army Nov. 19, 1954.

He was honorably discharged on Nov. 16, 1956. Following his military service, he went to work for Western Electric from which he eventually retired after 30 years of service. He was united in marriage to Roselie Krussow April 28, 1962. The couple lived in the Albertville area all their married life.

Gary served on the Albertville City Council for 12 years and also served at the Mayor for two years.

He was a former member of the Albertville Lions Club, was a charter member of Life in Christ Lutheran Church, and was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed anything outdoors including hunting, fishing, camping and bird watching.

Survivors include his wife, Roselie of Albertville; daughters, Susan (Dale) Zachman of St. Michael and Sonja (Brian) Averbeck of Elk River; sister, Arlyce Geister of Salem, Ore.; and eight grandchildren, Jared, Brandon, Noah, Matthew, Chelsea, Joseph, Jessica and Kayla.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

Memorials preferred to Allina Hospice.

Mark M. Ludescher

Services for Mark M. Ludescher, 79, Albert Lea, were held Monday, May 23, 2005, at the United Methodist Church, in Albert Lea.

Rev. John Bromeland officiated the service.

Mr. Ludescher died Thursday, May 19, at his home. He was born Jan. 16, 1926, in Delano to Joseph and Rose (Lamothe) Ludescher. He graduated from Delano High School in 1944. In April of 1945, he entered into the U.S. Army where he served in Japan under General McArthur until October of 1946.

MR. Ludescher would later go on to marry Elayne Geldert of Excelsior. The couple lived in Mound, and then from 1953-1967 he lived in Chatham, N.Y., Salinas, Calif., New Jersey, Illinois, Indiana, Colorado and Albert Lea since 1986. He worked for Streaters, Litton Industries and retired from there.

Mr. Ludescher was a member of the Elks, American Legion, Lions and Kiwanis. He was a volunteer for Senior Resources Ride Service and also was a Spark Plug for Destination Albert Lea and narrated for the Pelican Breeze. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, entertaining and dogs.

Mr. Ludescher is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rose Ludescher; wife, Elayne; two brothers, Vernon and Austin; and sister, Eleanor.

He is survived by his three daughters, Marlane and her husband Mike Little of Colorado Springs, Colo., Carol Richter of Albert Lea, and Judy and Bob Clark of Centennial, Colo.; three granddaughters, Katie and Elizabeth Brumbaugh of Virginia and Laura Richter of Albert Lea; brother, Leonard Ludescher of Delano and many nieces and nephews.

Elaine M. Hendrickson

Services for Elaine M. Hendrickson, 59, of Delano were Thursday, May 26, 2005, at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano.

Rev. Michael Miller officiated at the Mass with interment in the Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Hendrickson died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. She was born May 28, 1946, to Albert and Leona (Guennignsmann) Helmbrecht in Winsted.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Leona (Guennignsmann) Helmbrecht.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce; son, Curtis and fiancée Michelle; daughter, Sandy; father, Albert Helmbrecht; and brothers, Jerry Helmbrecht, David and Kaye Helmbrecht and Ron and Theresa Helmbrecht; 10 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews.

Mabel A. DeMar

Services for Mabel A. DeMar, 92, of Osseo were Saturday, May 28, 2005, at the Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home.

Interment was at Morningside Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Leslie (Arlene), Richard (Gloria); daughters, Darlene (Dave) Zabel, Mary Lou (LaVerne) Nordness, Joy Kotilinek, Judy (Robert) Gates; 13 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren; and sister, Norma Squire.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; and brother, Clarence.

William H. Nelson

A memorial service for William H. Nelson, 71, of Maple Grove was Thursday, May 26, 2005, at the Evans Nordby Funeral Home in Osseo.

Mr. Nelson died peacefully at his home Tuesday, May 24, 2005.

He served as a Minneapolis policeman for 27 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn; daughters, Kim Nelson, Leslie Johnson, and Stacy (Jeff) Maniak; sons, Jon (Lee), and James (Tammy) Nelson; grandchildren, Kelly, Theron, Kyle, Cassie, Phillip, Jennica, Jared, Jack, Julene, Jerica, Will and Janea; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ethan.

Mr. Nelson is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Judith; and grandson, Theodore Maniak.

Ok Cha Peterson

Services for Ok Cha Peterson, 60, of Maple Grove were Monday, March 23, 2005, at Korean United Methodist Church in New Brighton.

Interment was at Martell Lutheran Cemetery in Martell, Wis.

She is survived by her husband, Danny; son, Christopher; daughter, Stephanie; four sisters, one brother; other relatives and friends.
