John Hoffman

Memorial services for John A. Hoffman, 46, Milaca, took place Nov. 29 at Monticello Covenant Church. Rev. Bill Johnson officiated.

Hoffman died Nov. 24, 2002 at Northland Regional Hospital, Princeton. He was born May 24, 1956 in Anoka to Arthur and Mary (Nogle) Hoffman. He was a chef.

He is survived by his mother, Mary of Monticello; father, Arthur of Anoka; brothers, Mike (Sandy) of Monticello, Gary of Anoka, Daniel of Atlanta, Ga., and Lawrence of Monticello; sister, Kim of Elk River; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and a sister.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.

Larry Hudson

Funeral services for Larry Gene Hudson, 66, Osakis, took place Nov. 25 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Carl Vaggnes officiated.

Hudson died Nov. 19, 2002 at St. Cloud Hospital. He was born May 5, 1936 in Virgie, Ky., and was a former city of Minneapolis employee.

He is survived by his wife, Verra; children, Tony Hudson, Theresa (John) Hamre, and Julie (David) Rice; five grandchildren; mother, Elsie Hudson; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow; and sister, Phyllis.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.

Howard Jestus

Funeral services for Howard Jestus, 68, North Branch, took place Nov. 21 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids. Rev. Tom Nielsen officiated.

Jestus died Nov. 17, 2002 in North Branch. He was born Sept. 1, 1934 in Howard Lake and owned Jetson Iron Works in Ham Lake for more than 25 years.

He is survived by special friend, Joyce Sheffield; children, Gary (Kathy), Gene (Debbie), Glen (Nora), Kathi Johnson, Rick (Trisha), Mike, Kerrie Nelson (Mark); 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Larson (Bud), Dorothy Johnson (Corky); and brother, John (Norita).

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Millie.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.

JoAnn Johnson

Funeral services for JoAnn Johnson, 55, Ramsey, took place Nov. 27 at Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel. Rev. Bill Deziel officiated.

Johnson died Nov. 24, 2002 at Mercy Hospital. She was born April 26, 1947 to Stanley Martinson and Caroline Berens.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; daughters, Kelly (Mike) Schmidt, Kris (Mark) Lehet, Kim (Eric) McCullum; and granddaughter, Cassie Meier.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Caroline Martinson.

Pallbearers were Mark Lehet, Mike Schmidt, Eric McCullum, and Gary Martinson.

Interment was at Champlin cemetery. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home.

Kenneth Kuhn

Funeral services for Dr. Kenneth L. Kuhn, 61, Andover, took place Nov. 29 at Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka Chapel. Chaplain Duane Nelson officiated.

Kuhn died Nov. 23, 2002. He was born Jan. 26, 1941 in Pocatello, Idaho, and was a psychiatrist at the Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center, Cedar Ridge and the Alliance Clinic.

He is survived by his best friend, Norma Prokosch; sons, Joshua (Jeanette), Charles; sister, Barbara (Paul) Ellis; niece, Suzanne (Jason) Dirscherl; and nephew, Scott (Mindy) Ellis.

Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home.

Donald Larson

Funeral services for Donald E. Larson, 78, Ham Lake, took place Nov. 30 at Anoka Covenant Church. Rev. Ted Nordlund officiated.

Larson died Nov. 27, 2002 at Unity Hospital. He was born Aug. 5, 1924 in Royalton Township, Pine County, to John E. and Irene S. (Carlson) Larson, and was a retired brake press operator at Hoffman Engineering.

He is survived by his son, Mark Larson and wife Beth of Oakdale; grandchildren, Michael, David, Peter and Stephen Beebe, Jeremy, Michael and Deborah Larson; sister, Marjorie Lee and husband Garland of Cedar; son-in-law, Merlin Beebe of Ham Lake; sister-in-law, Clara Larson of Elk River; and close friend Marlys Schuelein of Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; daughter, LaDon Beebe; and brother. Glen Larson.

Pallbearers were Michael, David, Peter and Stephen Bebee, and Jeremy, Michelle, and Deborah Larson.

Interment was at West Oak Grove cemetery, Oak Grove. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Kathryn McCoy

Funeral services for Kathryn Ann McCoy, 51, East Bethel, took place Nov. 30 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Farmington.

McCoy died at her home Nov. 24, 2002. She was born Aug. 20, 1951 in Farmington to Gail and Gladys Millard. She was a power generation administrator at Cummins.

She is survived by her husband, Terry McCoy; daughter, Carrie McCoy; sons, Brock McCoy and Paul Pexa; grandchildren, Zachery Lee McCoy; granddaughter, Deaudra Pexa; father, Gail Millard (Mary); mother, Gladys Millard; sisters, Linda Barnes and Gayla Gilbertson (John); brothers, Richard and Glenn Millard; great-grandmother, Catherine Millard; half-sister, Maijaliisa Millard; and half-brothers, Danny and Wayne Millard.

She was preceded in death b by her brother, Douglas Millard; sisters, Shauna; grandparents, Henry and Anna Ulvi; and grandfather, Frank Millard.

Arrangements were by White Funeral Homes, Farmington.

Mary Nelson

Funeral services for Mary B. Nelson (Jindra), 90, Coon Rapids, took place Nov. 23 at Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.

Nelson died Nov. 18, 2002 at Epiphany Assisted Living. She was born Sept. 27, 1912 in Minneapolis to Katherine and Joseph Jindra and was a retired receptionist.

She is survived by her children, Gerald (Arlene), Ronald (Mary), Jim (Kris), Barbara (Gene) Antolak; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; and grandson, Ronald.

Interment was at Hillside cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Roy Nicholson

Funeral services for Roy William Nicholson, 80, Spring Lake Park, took place Nov. 27 at Word of Life Alliance Church. Revs. Orville Hieb and Jim Rockensock officiated.

Nichols died Nov. 23, 2002 at Unity Hospital. He was born April 29, 1922 in Bluffton Township and was a retired mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Verna; children, Allen (Barbara), Dennis (Terri), John (Janice), Donald (Sherry), Ronald and daughter Joy; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond (Lois), David Nicholson; sisters, Florence (Dale) Peterson, Grace (Reynold) Schultze; and many nieces, nephews and family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ruth; son, Roy V.; and brother, Gerald.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Elton Rannow

Funeral services for Elton A. Rannow, 91, Blaine, took place Dec. 3 at Gearhart Funeral Chapel. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.

Rannow died Nov. 29, 2002 in Blaine. He was born Nov. 23, 1911 in Minneapolis and was a retired truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Katheryn; sons, Robert (Denise) Given; David (Patti) Given, Jory Rannow, Robert Rannow; daughters, JoAnn Given, Judy Lepper, Loreen (Ty) Ridlon, Denise (Alan) Krieger, Teri (Dan) Beyer, Kim (Pat) Woodford, Lisa Rannow and Jeri Sullivan; 38 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Kelly Schommer

Funeral services for Kelly M. Schommer, 24, Anoka, took place Dec. 3 at Catholic Church of St. Stephen, Anoka. Rev. Bill Deziel officiated.

Schommer died Nov. 28, 2002 in Minneapolis. She was born Oct. 29, 1978 in Coon Rapids to Milton J. Schommer and Shirley A. Matlock, and was a student.

She is survived by her mother, Shirley; father, Milton; sisters, Marie (Jeremy) Becker, Lori (Josh) Holmstrom; nephews, Cody Holmstrom and Jake Becker; special friend, Thomas Hussey; and aunts and uncles.

Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home-Anoka Chapel.
