Jon Krogstad

Funeral service for John Thorne Krogstad 'Kroggie,' 62, Mounds View, took place Sept. 6 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Rev. Del Schnaidt officiated.

Krogstad died Aug. 30, 2006 in Minneapolis. He was born Oct. 7, 1943 in Minneapolis to Emil and Pearl Krogstad and was a locksmith.

He is survived by his wife, Ginny; children, Debbie (John Munsterman) and Michael; grandchildren, Amber and Markus Bury, Mitchell and Amber Munsterman; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and siblings.

Pallbearers were Michael Krogstad, Markus Bury, John and Mitchell Munsterman, Mick Lindemann and Pasha Khan.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.

Lawrence Linde

Funeral service for Lawrence Richard Linde, 84, Anoka, took place Sept. 11 at First Baptist Church of Anoka. Rev. Abe Cardosa officiated.

Linde died Sept. 6, 2006 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Nov. 17, 1921 in St. Paul to Gust and Jenny Margaret (Johnson) Linde. He was a Marine veteran in World War II, receiving the Purple Heart, and was a retired agent for the Association of American Railroads.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; children, Marlys Rainbow and husband Donald, Orin and wife Roxy, Wayne and wife Jane; 10 grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, George.

Pallbearers were Will Rainbow, Josh Kesler and Brooks, Luke, Chase and Peter Linde.

Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Hailey Long

Funeral service for Hailey Cheryl-Ann Long, 4, Zimmerman, took place Sept. 6 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Long died Sept. 1, 2006. She was born May 2, 2002.

She is survived by her mother, Rashell Belden; father, John Long (Amy Kostreba); grandparents, Cheryl and Jerry Fleck, Judith Anderson, Jack Long and Tom Ingebredtsen; and family.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandpa, Warren Belden; great-aunt, Jan Belden; and great-uncle, Wayne Belden.

Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.

James McChesney

Memorial service for James Harold McChesney, 80, Ramsey, took place Sept. 12 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. J.R. Baumgarn officiated.

McChesney died Sept. 7, 2006 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. He was born April 26, 1926 in Minneapolis to Russell Raymond and Gertrude Erna (Seeger) McChesney. He was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by his children, Debbie (Chuck) Lawrence of Arizona, Mark McChesney of Elk River, Sandy (Craig) Sundermeyer of Stanchfield, Kevin (Tuyet) McChesney of Big Lake, Keith (Dawn) McChesney of Crystal; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; twin brother, John (Carole) McChesney of Merrifield; brother, William (Diane) McChesney of Robbinsdale; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; parents, Russell and Gertrude McChesney; and brother, Robert McChesney.

Interment was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Ernest Petersen

Funeral service for Ernest F. Petersen, 88, Andover, took place Sept. 9 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Tim Johnson officiated.

Petersen died Sept. 5, 2006. He was born June 20, 1918 in Crystal to Oscar and Hilda (Nelson) Petersen. He was the owner of Anoka Independent Grain and Feed.

He is survived by his sons, Frederick (Jan) Petersen and David (Karen) Petersen, all of Anoka; daughter, Barbara (Donald) Millslagle of Iowa; seven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian.

Pallbearers were Robert, Kevin and Keith Petersen, Buddy Peterson, Chip Millslagle and Mert Hansen.

Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Genevieve Ptasznick

Private family service took place for Genevieve Ptasznick, 93, Cambridge.

Ptasznick died Sept. 5, 2006. She was born Sept. 13, 1912.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Chester Morawiecki and Barbara and Frank Florczak; grandchildren, Glenn Florczak, Donald Florczak, Sara Florczak Reyes, Peter Florczak, Shawn Dygert, Robin Parr, Pam Dygert, Stephanie Morawiecki, Teresa Morawiecki; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Cynthia Richardson

Funeral service for Cynthia Rae Richardson 'Cindy,' 52, Blaine, took place Sept. 8 at Williams-Hanson-Kaun, Princeton.

Richardson died unexpectedly Sept. 5, 2006. She was born June 30, 1954 in Warren, the daughter of Richard and Janette (Johnson) Jones. She grew up and was educated at Circle Pines. She worked as a bookkeeper at a variety of businesses over the years. More recently, she had worked in home health care as a PCA.

She is survived by her sons, Chris (Christina) Butala of Otsego, Dan (Rhonda) Butala of White, Ga., and Jeremy Jones Richardson of Blaine; grandchildren, Danielle, Raeann, Cody, Joey, Ricky and Sierra; mother, Janette Jones of Coon Rapids; sisters and brother, Julie (John) Zender of Coon Rapids, Kathy (Brad) Moser of Pequot Lakes, Pam (Tom) Slater of North Pole, Alaska, Jeff (Lisa) Jones of Ham Lake and Jamie (John) Jones of Coon Rapids; cousin and best friend, Carolyn Leiran of St. Anthony; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Jones.

Interment was at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Princeton. Arrangements were by Williams-Hanson-Kaun, Princeton.

Marlene Rush

Graveside service for Marlene Rush, 72, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 7 at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids.

Rush died Sept. 4, 2006. She was born Oct. 6, 1933 to Edwin and Grace Ann Wicklund.

She is survived by her sons, Gary and Terry; grandchildren, Troy, Shawn and Stacey; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.

Thomas Samuel

Funeral service for Thomas R. Samuel, 59, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 14, 2006 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Dennis Zehren officiated.

Samuel was born Nov. 30, 1946 in Chicago, Ill.

He is survived by his wife, Barb; brother, Ron; four stepchildren; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

Interment was private. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Monica Stafki

Funeral service for Monica J. Stafki, 46, St. Francis, took place Sept. 6 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids.

Stafki died Sept. 1, 2006. She was born July 18, 1960.

She is survived by her mother, Patricia; brothers, Michael, John (Annette) and Matthew; sisters, Pamela Brodell (Steve), Amy Hnllicka (Christopher); and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, George; and sister, Annette.

Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Sean Weeden

Funeral service for Sean Robert Weeden, 29, Blaine, took place Sept. 11 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Weeden died accidentally Sept. 7, 2006.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy; sons, Tyler and Justin; daughter, Ashley; parents, Debra (Paul), Robert (Jennifer), Steve (Barb); grandparents, Russell, Shirley and George; brothers and sisters, Allcia (Andy), Jenny, Chris (Jenny), Johanna (Chris), Patrick (Amanda), Angela (Steve), Stephanie (Jim), Brandon, Amy (Josh); and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl, Alice and Pearl.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
