Marvin Tobeck

Funeral service for Marvin William Tobeck, 74, Pine City, formerly of Andover, took place Oct. 1 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Norman Berg officiated.

Tobeck died Sept. 27, 2004 at Hillcrest Health Care Center, Rush City. He was born June 8, 1930 in Eden Valley to Eddy F. and Mina Henriette (Wendroth) Tobeck and was a retired truck driver.

He is survived by his siblings, Iris (Ardell) Topp, Edward (Loretta) Tobeck, Shirley (Elmer) Pless and Ronald (Kathryn) Tobeck; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl; son, Darin; and brother, Merril.

Pallbearers were Steve Clawson, Chris LeBlanc, John and Todd Tobeck, Duane Pless and Shaun Topp.

Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Wally Walczak

Funeral service for Wally Walczak, 48, Coon Rapids, took place Sept. 25 at Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids, Rev. Patrick Kennedy officiated.

Walczak died Sept. 21, 2004. He was born March 3, 1956 in Virginia.

He is survived by his wife, Annette; children, Joseph and Amanda; grandson, Isaac; parents, Chester and Geniveve Walczak; sisters, Cindy DelCaro, Tammy Royseth (Trigve), Carol Mauritsen (Don); brother, Daniel Walczak; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Lawrence Flanagan

Funeral service for Lawrence 'Shane' Flanagan, 45, Maplewood, formerly of Blaine, took place Oct. 6 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Blaine. Rev. Harry Tasto officiated.

Flanagan died Oct. 2, 2004 in Maplewood. He was born Jan. 31, 1959 in St. Paul to Lawrence and Kay Flanagan and was a lab specialist with H.B. Fuller.

He is survived by his mother, Kay; sisters, Denise (Joe) Donohue, Leslie (Jim) Wendel and Dianne Thomas; nieces and nephews, Jill, Kristina, Kayla, Neil, Daniel, Katie, Trevor and Audrey; godparents, Bill and Dianne Alfillisch; special friend, Carrie and her children; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry.

Pallbearers were Bill and Buster Alfillisch, Joe Donohue, Jim Tomiczak, George Hrab and Lance Broderick. Honorary pallbearers were Jill Flanagan, Kristina Wendel, Kayla and Trevor Thomas, Neil and Katie Haley, and Audrey Donohue.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.

Lynn Johnson

Funeral service for Lynn Marie Johnson, 55, Columbia Heights, took place Sept. 23 at Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids. Rev. Dennis Zehren officiated.

Johnson died Sept. 19, 2004 in Columbia Heights. She was born March 19, 1949 in Minneapolis to Cliff and Carmen Goodwater. She was an occupational therapist assistant and was involved in the Boys Scouts of America, where she received the Silver Beaver Award, and the Coon Rapids VFW Auxiliary for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Gary; son, Chad; daughter, Shelley Albright (Jim); granddaughter, Alysha; mother, Carmen Chiodo; father, Cliff Goodwater (Lydia); brother, Richard Goodwater; sister, Kathy Johnson; and many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Paul Amundsen, Ron Hartse, Dan Hinrichs, Bill Sr. and Donald Chiodo and Gene Cooper. Honorary pallbearers were Les Wisnall and Danny Chiodo.

Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home.

Floyd Hughes

A funeral service for Floyd A. Hughes, 69, Spring Lake Park, took place Oct. 14 at the Church of the Epiphany. Father Dennis Zehren officiated.

Hughes died Oct. 8, 2004 in Coon Rapids. He was born Oct. 13, 1934 in Hamel to Arthur and Laura Hughes. A member of Epiphany Church and a truck driver, Hughes never married.

He is survived by a sister, Loretta (Warren) Epps, a brother Leslie (Diane) Hughes, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other family members of friends.

Hughes was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Laura.

Internment was at St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery in Hamel. Arrangements were by Gearhart Funeral Home, Coon Rapids.

Rita Johnson

Funeral service for Rita Marie Johnson, 73, Ramsey, took place Oct. 7 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Ramsey. Rev. Blair Anderson officiated.

Johnson died Oct. 3, 2004 in Ramsey. She was born July 2, 1931 in Waverly to Noah Chevalier and Jessie Dalbec.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; son, Nathan (Judy); daughters, Diane, Susan (Glen), Sandra (Dan), Karen (Colin); grandchildren, Allison, Erik, Jamie, Jessalyn, Kara, Kristie, Mackenzie, Megan, Misty, Rachel, Richelle and Spencer; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Kallee, Nolan, Rolf; brother, Larry Chevalier; sister, Pat Mellenthin, Donna Jenson, Bev Vidervol; and many friends.

Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Minneapolis. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home.

Edith Klandrud

The funeral service for Edith Klandrud, 82, Spring Lake Park, took place Oct. 9 at Emmanuel Christian Center in Spring Lake Park. Rev. G. Mark Denyes officiated.

Klandrud died Oct. 6, 2004 in Fridley. Shed was born July 31, 1922 in Virginia, Minn.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years John, children Rebecca (Timothy), Paul (Crystal), Philip (Monica), grandchildren Alexis and Elise, sister Geraldine (Louis) and many other loving relatives and friends.

Internment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Blaine. Arrangements were made by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.

Cynthia Kitlinski

Memorial service for Cynthia A. Kitlinski, 71, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 9, 2004 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Kitlinski helped found the DFL Feminist Caucus in the 1970s and later served on the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission.

She is survived by her husband, Marcel; daughter, Roberta of Roseville; cousins, Sandra (Fritz) Edmunds of Overland Park, Kan., Judy (Gary) Hopko of Carlos, Bonny (Richard) Palm of Prescott, Ariz., Rhonda (John) Roberts of Eagan; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory; parents, Ralph and Alice Asplund; and sister, Linda McDonald.

Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Emma Lilly

The funeral service for Emma Marie Lilly, 11, Coon Rapids, will take place Oct. 18, 10 a.m., at St. Barbara's Church in Brookfield, Ill.

Lilly died of a brain tumor Oct. 9, 2004 at St. Paul Children's Hospital. She was born March. 27, 1993 in St. Louis Park to Keith Francis and Joelle Vincente (nee Straniero) Lilly.

Emma was a sixth-grade student at Northdale Middle School and a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Anoka.

Internment will be at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Ill. Arrangements have been made by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Derek Michaels

The funeral service for Derek A. Michaels, 25, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 13 at the Church of the Epiphany, Coon Rapids. Father Dennis Zehren officiated.

Michaels died Oct. 9, 2004 in Blaine. He was born Aug. 29, 1979 in Minneapolis.

He was survived by his mother, Diana Michaels (Scott Smith), father Mark Michaels (Sonia), brothers and sisters Sam, Rachel, Spencer and Angie, grandparents Dick and Verna Olson, Beatrice and James Michaels, other family and friends.

Internment was at the Epiphany Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy.

Donald Nolte

A private funeral service took place recently for Donald Nolte, Champlin, who died Oct. 9, 2004 at the Veterans Hospital.

Nolte, who was born Sept. 19, 1925 in Crookston, is survived by his wife Maude and children Karey Amon, Donna Bisom, Terry Ross, Kenneth Nolte and Keven Nolte, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Internment was at Fort Snelling. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Mary Norrbom

The funeral service for Mary Jane Norrbom (nee Patterson), 61 and formerly of Maple Grove, took place Oct. 12 at the Coon Rapids Chapel. Rev. Daniel Pfaffe, Norrbom's son-in-law, officiated.

Norrbom was a homemaker, who was born April 20, 1943 in Minneapolis.

She died in Minneapolis Oct. 8, 2004.

She is survived by daughters Christine (Eric) Henderson, Debra (Daniel) Pfaffe and Renee (Ryan) Chesemore, sons Christopher (Janell) and Lowell, grandchildren Amanda, Mark, Andrew Carissa, Jonathan, Michelle, William, Tyler, Nathaniel, Jona, Heather, Nicholas, great-grandchild Tucker and sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.

Internment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Blaine. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.
