Robert C. McIntosh
Robert C. McIntosh, age 82, of Herman, MN entered into Heaven on October 7, 2005, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls, MN. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at Korsmo Funeral Chapel in Moorhead with Pastor Darrell Reimer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service on Tuesday. Interment will be at Clara Cemetery near Comstock, MN.
Robert Charles McIntosh, the son of John and Esther (Wakefield) McIntosh, was born on May 10, 1923 in Ogema, MN. He was called into military service by the Army to serve in World War II. He was a member of the 40th Mechanized Recon unit serving in the South Pacific. He married Marian Wenger on June 6, 1948. He was employed by Steiger Tractor for many years.
Robert is survived by his wife, Marian McIntosh of Herman, MN; two children, Mary (Dwight) Barnard of Denver, CO and Lorene McIntosh of Loman, MN; four grandchildren, Jason Barnard, James Barnard, Jennifer (David) Kramer, Robert Wohlwend III and one great grandchild, William Murillo.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters and his son William Brian McIntosh.
The family would like to gratefully acknowledge all the loving devoted care that Robert received at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls.
Robert enjoyed nature in all its forms including hunting and fishing. He never turned away a stray animal in need. He loved woodworking, photography and especially spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor and his unconditional love.
Merry M. McClary
Merry M. McClary, 51, Moorhead, MN, died in her home on Wednesday, August 31, 2005.
Merry Melody McClary, daughter of Arnold and Dorothy (Peterson) McClary, was born September 29, 1953, in Moorhead, where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1972. She was united in marriage to Dana Smith in Moorhead in 1970. The couple made their home in Minot, ND, for several years, where Dana was stationed in the Air Force. They later lived in Ada, MN.
Merry lived in Jamestown, ND, for a short time before returning to Moorhead.
Merry is survived by two daughters, Toby McClary, Moorhead, and Heather Smith, Fargo, ND; one brother, Mark McClary, Moohead; three sisters, Teresa (Joe) Upton, Bossier City, LA, Fern McClary, Moorhead, and Trudy Micke, Dunn, NC; and one grandson.
Merry was preceded in death by her parents.

Frances M. Martin
Frances Marie Martin, age 87, Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, December 8, 2005, at Moorhead Healthcare Center.
Frances Marie Buffington was born March 9, 1918 in Newton, Kansas. She grew up and received her education in Kansas. On September 10, 1935, she was united in marriage to George H. Martin at Burlington, Kansas.
Following their marriage, they lived in Kansas, from 1947 to 1976 in Colorado, and in Arizona. In 1987, they returned to Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. Mr. Martin died on April 6, 1994. After his death, she continued to live in Cottonwood Falls. In October of 2003, Marie moved to Moorhead, where she became a resident of Moorhead Healthcare Center.
Marie is survived by a daughter, Darlene (Merl) Robertson, Moorhead; a sister, Bonnie (Richard) Wahrle, Pueblo, CO; two brothers, Robert (Sandy) Buffington, Tucson, AZ, and Jim Buffington, Pueblo; ten grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; and seventeen great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service
Funeral service: Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at 3:00 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.
Additional services and burial will be in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas.
Stephen J. Lopez Jr
Stephen J. Lopez Jr., 44, Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, July 23, 2005, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Stephen Joseph Lopez, Jr. was born April 10, 1961, to Stephen and Deloris (Voeltz) Lopez Sr., in Moorhead, where he was raised and graduated from high school.
Stephen earned a degree in carpentry from Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Moorhead. He worked as a department head for Target Stores for over 20 years. He left Target due to health reasons and then worked for K-9 Country Club, Moorhead.
Stephen is survived by two sisters, Phyllis (Ivan) Smedshammer, Marion, IL, and Denise (Steve) Miller, Moorhead; and two brothers, Keith Sheppard, Marion, and Douglas (Julie) Sheppard, Houston, TX.
Memorial Service: Thursday, July 28, 2005 - 2 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Inurnment: St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
Alice L. Loock
Alice Louise Loock, 71, died peacefully in her home on Turtle Lake on March 28, 2005.
Alice was born July 22, 1933, to Andrew and Wilhelmina (Luepker) Iverson in rural Detroit Lakes, MN, and she attended school in Moorhead, MN.
Alice married Vernon Loock October 19, 1952. Alice and Vernon farmed in rural Hawley, MN, from 1959 through 1966, when they moved to Moorhead. Vernon worked for the Minnesota Highway Dept. until he left due to an injury. In April of 1981, Vernon and their son, Dennis, established the family business, The Muffler Man, Moorhead.
Alice worked for various local businesses until Vernon’s heart attack in 1986. She then began working at The Muffler Man. Alice answered the phone, visited with customers, and did the bookwork while working alongside her son and grandsons. Vernon died June 16, 1987.
Known as “The Muffler Lady”, Alice will be missed by many.
She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Waxler, West Fargo, ND; a son, Dennis (Roxanne) Loock, and two grandsons, Brandon and Benjamin, all of Moorhead; sisters, Doris (Bob) Nielsen, Billings, MT, Margaret (Dennis) Heilman, and Marlys (Tom) Zotti, all of Torrance, CA; sisters-in-law, Judie Iverson, Bloomington, IN, Joanie Iverson, San Diego, CA, and Myrtle Pender, Moorhead; brothers-in-law, Harold Uhl, Ukiah, CA, and Harold Schenck, Barnesville, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by Vernon’s parents, Jess and Hilda Loock; her parents, Andrew and Wilhelmina Iverson; brothers, Marvin and Charles Iverson; a sister, Donna Uhl; a son-in-law, Fay Waxler; a sister-in-law, Florence Schenck; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Pender.
Visitation: Friday from 5 PM - 8 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral Service: Saturday, April 2, 2005, at 5 PM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Interment: Elmwood Cemetery, Sabin, MN
Lavina Melbye
Edith Lavina Melbye, 88, Red Wing, MN, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died at Angels Care Center, Cannon Falls, MN, on November 9, 2005.
Lavina was born on February 19, 1917, in Ulen, MN, to Einar and Helen (Grettum) Hellem. She graduated from Ulen High School and Business College in Fargo, ND, and worked as a secretary for many years with the Clay County Welfare Department and Concordia College in Moorhead, retiring in 1982. On May 21, 1949, she married Harland Melbye and he died in 1988.
Lavina is survived by one son, Douglas of Red Wing; one grandson, Jameson of Lakeville, MN; three brothers, Leverne (Helen) of Garrison, ND, Kermit (Laura) of North Branch, MN, and Merle (RoMae) of Sun City, AZ; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded death by an infant son, Gary Lee; and three sisters, Helen Hatler, Ruby Hall, and Lois St. Claire.
Visitation: 6 –8 PM on Saturday and one hour prior to the funeral service in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
