Ray Little, 79

Ray Sturges Little, 79, of Buffalo passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016 in Arizona.

He was born Dec. 8, 1936 in Buffalo, Minn., the son of Ray James and Myra (Sturges) Little. Ray was baptized as an infant at the Presbyterian Church in Buffalo. He was later baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Catholic Church in Buffalo. He attended Buffalo High School and was a livestock dealer for 60 years.

On June 24, 1959, Ray Little and Marlene Eull were united in marriage in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Ray’s greatest joy was his grandchildren. He enjoyed dancing, swimming, hunting, and fishing. He also had a love for horses and cattle, and he enjoyed his farm in Pierz, Minn. Ray also enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in their horse event and school sports activities.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Ray and Myra Little; brother, Jim Little (Connie); brother-in-law, Walt Spike; and nephews, Jeff Little and Todd Little.

He is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Marlene Little; children, Casey Schultz, Ray James Little (Laurie), Colleen Little (Jimmy), Pat Little (Debbie), and Bonnie Kuka (Mike); grandchildren, Kristie Schultz (AJ), Emily Schultz, Casey Schultz, Chad Little (Brittany), Charlie Little (Megan), Shaun Little, Jessie Kuka (Adam), Mike Kuka, and Tom Kuka; great-grandchildren, Layne, Payton, Hunter, and Cash; sister, Kathryn Spike; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Casket bearers were Ray’s grandchildren: Kristie Schultz, Jessie Kuka, Emily Schultz, Chad Little, Mike Kuka, Casey Schultz, Charlie Little, Tom Kuka, and Shaun Little.

Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled on Monday, Oct. 31 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo with Father Paul Shovelain as Celebrant. A visitation was scheduled on Sunday, Oct. 30 at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, with further visitation at the church an hour prior to Mass. Interment was planned at Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo.

The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.

Robert Maass, 65

Robert A. “Bob” Maass, 65, of Delano passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 at his home from the complications of ALS.

Memorial Service Thursday Nov. 3, 11 a.m., at the Buffalo United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Reinhart and Rev. Joel Sund officiating. Visitation was scheduled on Wednesday 4-7 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia, and Thursday an hour prior to the service at the church. Interment is taking place in the Delano City Cemetery.

Bob was born on May 10, 1951 in Wayzata, the son of Alvin and Janet (Engelhart) Maass. He was baptized and confirmed at Lake Auburn Moravian Church in Victoria.

On Oct. 10, 1970, Bob was united in marriage to Diana L. Meyer at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Bonifacius.

Bob owned and operated a successful cabinet business called Specialized Woodcraft from 1973 until he sold the business in 2005. He continued making cabinets part-time from his home until September 2014, along with his sons.

Bob loved spending time with his family. He would help them out whenever needed. Bob thoroughly treasured the time spent with his grandchildren. They enjoyed the many tractor rides with grandpa and helping him build the many items he created and playing with his trains. He collected toy Oliver tractors and liked going to threshing shows in search of items to add to his collection, gathering all the pieces of equipment with which he grew up.

He was preceded in death by: his son, Brian Maass; grandson, Mason Maass; parents, Alvin and Janet Maass; father-in-law, Harvey Meyer; and brother-in-law, Douglas Meyer.

Bob is survived by his loving family: wife, Diana; sons, Geoffrey (Jodi) Maass of New Prague and Timothy (Julia) Maass of Delano; grandchildren, Samantha (Gerald) Nila, Amanda Maass, Eva Partington, Kaitlin Maass, Meadow Martel, Colton Maass, Jackson Maass, and Caden Maass; great-grandchildren, Alexandra Mikkelson and Rorie Borquez; brother, James (Joyce) Maass of Blaine; mother-in-law, Juliana Meyer of Delano; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Judy (Ron) Maas of Maple Plain, Rosemary (Douglas) Piotrowski of Stillwell, Kan, Delbert (Susan) Meyer of St. Bonifacius, Leon Meyer of Fort Smith, Ark., and Richard (Dana) Meyer of St. Bonifacius; and nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Urn bearers are Kaitlin Maass and Colton Maass.

Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.

Mary Peterson-Anderson, 93

Mary D. Peterson-Anderson, 93, of Buffalo, Minn. passed away on Oct. 29, 2016 at Cottagewood in Buffalo.

Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, Nov. 3, 11 a.m., at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Buffalo, with visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church on Thursday. Interment St. Francis Cemetery, Buffalo, Minn.

Survived by: her husband, Harley Anderson; son, James (Linda) Peterson Jr.; daughter, Susan (Allen) Ende; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The Peterson Chapel, Buffalo is serving the family.

Douglas Reimann, 83

Douglas M. Reimann, 83, of Buffalo, formerly of Robbinsdale, passed away Oct. 25, 2016.

Doug was born on June 22, 1933 in Minneapolis. He was a graduate of North High School in 1951 and went to the University of Minnesota. He was a member of the Marching Band and graduated with a Music Education degree in 1955.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957 and was stationed in Germany, where he was a member of the 9th Division Band in Goeppingen, Germany. On his return home, he went into the field of Electrical Engineering.

Doug married the love of his life, Janet, on June 24, 1961, and they welcomed their daughter, Judy, on May 14, 1963. He worked for Honeywell and Control Data, where he retired in 1988.

He is survived by his daughter, Judy (Terry Vossler) and grandson, Thomas Vossler of Robbinsdale, and also many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet, parents, Dr. F. George Reimann and Lillian (Marscheider) Reimann, and his brother, Dale R. Reimann.

Funeral services was scheduled on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Zion Lutheran Church, Buffalo, with interment following at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Buffalo and luncheon following at the church. Visitation was scheduled on Tuesday, Nov. 1 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.

Burley Stevens, 70

Burley Dean Stevens, 70, of Buffalo passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born on June 20, 1946 in Buffalo, Minn., the son of Jack Charles and Gloria Wanda (Kitzman) Stevens.

On Oct. 28, 1967, Burley Stevens and Janice Schumacher were joined in holy marriage at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Minn. by Pastor Berwald.

Burley was a pipe fitter in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a crane operator at Fabcon Precast for 35 years and was a member of IUOE Local 49. Burley enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, dancing, bowling, playing cards, and camping.

He is survived by: his mother, Gloria Stevens; wife, Jan Stevens; children, Bradley (Bobbi VanMuyden) Stevens and Michael (Michele) Stevens; grandchildren, Brentley (girlfriend, Tyla) Stevens, Adam (Jessie) VanMuyden, Samantha VanMuyden, Brady Stevens, Joey Stevens, Danielle Stevens, Derek Stevens, Nicole Stevens, and Delaney Stevens; great-grandchildren, Addelyn Stevens and Brantley Stevens; sibling, Dixie (DuWayne “Champ”) DeMarais; sister-in-law, Linda (Daniel) DeWitte; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Jack Stevens; brother, Craig “Tex” Stevens; and nephews, Ryan DeWitte and Daniel DeMarais.

Honorary casket bearers: Bradley Stevens, Michael Stevens, and Burley’s grandchildren.

Casket bearers: Tim Bond, Scott Niesen, Jeff Niesen, Marvin Schumacher, Larry Donovan, and Reed DeMarais.

Funeral services for Burley Stevens were scheduled on Monday, Oct. 31, with visitation prior to services, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Pastor Ryan Clark officiated. Visitation was scheduled on Sunday, Oct. 20 at the church. Interment with Military Rites was planned at Lakeview Cemetery in Buffalo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials were preferred.

Marilyn Timmerman, 67

Marilyn A. Timmerman, 67, of rural Waverly passed away on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016.

Marilyn Ann was born Sept. 28, 1949 in Minneapolis to the late Walter and Audrey (nee Willette) Boeser.

On Sept. 13, 1969, Marilyn A. Boeser and the late Charles E. Timmerman were united in marriage at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Bloomington.

Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She especially loved spending time with her grandson, Carsten. Marilyn enjoyed gardening, reading, crafts and, traveling.

She is survived by: her sons, Darrell of Waverly and Scott (Sandy) of Buffalo; grandson, Carsten; sisters, Marlene (Leon) Kerber, Maxine (Ed) Shuenke, Mary (LaVerne) Marschall, and Marjorie (Kelly) Nelson; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on Sunday, Nov. 13 from noon to 4 p.m. for family and friends at Scott Timmerman’s house, 1153 29th St. SE, Buffalo, Minn.

Serving the family is the Peterson Chapel of Buffalo.

Robert Schindler, 89

Robert “Bob” Donald Schindler, 89, of Buffalo passed away on Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 at Park View Care Center.

He was born on April 30, 1927 in Buffalo, the son of Henry and Adela (Klatt) Schindler. Bob was baptized at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on July 27, 1941 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.

On July 14, 1951, Robert D. Schindler and Dorothy M. Perisian were joined in holy marriage. God blessed their marriage with two children.

Bob enjoyed farming, trees, flowers, cats, mowing grass, old tractors and old cars, coffee with friends, and spending time with his family. He retired from farming in 1969, and then worked at Farm Hand, Mammoth and Temroc Metals. After retiring from the factories, he worked part time for Dan and Jerry’s Greenhouse of Buffalo.

He was a faithful, lifelong member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church-Pelican Lake.

Survived by: his wife, Dorothy Schindler; a daughter, Cindy (Jim) Glunz; grandson, Fred Kelm; a sister, Joan Bechtold; sister-in-law, Delores Schindler; and other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by: a son, Jon Schindler; parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bud and Tina Perisian; a brother, Richard Schindler; sisters-in-law, Beverly Elsenpeter, Mildred Bonk and Janette Elsenpeter; and brothers-in-law, Allen and Albert Perisian and Glenard Bechtold.

Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Schindler will be held on Friday, Oct. 7, 2 p.m., at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church-Pelican Lake. Pastor Stephen A. Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6 from 4-8 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. A Prayer service is taking place at 7 p.m. Further visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 7 one hour prior to services at the church.

Honorary casket bearers will be Jim Glunz and Fred Kelm.

Casket bearers will be: Dan Weldele, Al Weege, Bill and Joe Coolen, Loren Weese, and Raymond Schmidt.

The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo is serving the family.
