Schreiber, Lorraine G.
Lorraine G. Schreiber, age 74, formerly of 526 Hamilton Street, died on Saturday, June 14, 2003, at Lake Winona Manor, Winona, Minn..
Lorraine Georgetta was born on July 25, 1928, in Napoleon, N. Dak., to William and Teresa (Hinz) Kroeber. On June 20, 1953, she married Raymond Arthur Schreiber in St. Charles, Minn. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1992.
She loved her grandchildren dearly. She also enjoyed embroidering and puzzles for most of her life She touched the lives of many children and their families during many years of providing local childcare.
She is survived by eight children: Russell (Norma) Thorn, Winona, Jackie (Raymond) Kopperud, Rushford, Bill Schreiber, Winona, Edwin Schreiber, Winona, Norma (Richard) Mundt, St. Charles, Linda (Kyle) VanNorman, Winona, Al (Nancy) Schreiber, Winona, and Erv (Leann) Schreiber, Winona; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen (Ernest) Boyer, Silverdale, Wash., and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Raymond.
Memorial services will be Friday, June 20, 2003 at 4:30 PM at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona with Rev. Rick Iglesias, pastor of Pleasant Valley Evangelical Free Church, officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, St. Charles, Minn.
A time of gathering will begin at 3:30 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lake Winona Manor.
Arrangements are being made by the Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Winona.

Sonsalla, Rose C.
Rose C. Sonsalla, 90, of Arcadia, Wis., died Friday, June 13, 2003, at the Tri-County Memorial Nursing Home in Whitehall, Wis.
She was born August 23, 1912, in Whitehall, Wis., to John and Julia (Filla) Giemza. On February 14, 1934, Rose married Clifford Sonsalla at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Arcadia. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1983.
Rose was a member of the Holy Family Parish in Arcadia and its Rosary Society. She is survived by one son, Roland Sonsalla of Arcadia; one stepdaughter, Lorraine (James) Shoemaker of Whitehall; two step-grandchildren; and very good friend, Jimmy Dabelstein.
Preceding Rose in death were her parents; husband; one daughter, Bonita; two brothers; and four sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at the Holy Family Parish (formerly, St. Stanislaus Catholic Church) in Arcadia, with Rev. Patrick Umberger officiating. Burial was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers were Ernest Waldera, Jimmy Dabelstein, Albin Giemza, David Sonsalla, Drew Anderson, and Darrell Sonsalla.
Rose's family respectfully asks that memorials be directed to "Family Wishes."

Wessel, Roger D.
Roger D. Wessel, 65, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at his home in Trempealeau, Wis. Roger was born July 7, 1937, in Chicago, Ill., to Edwin W. and Eleanor D. (Reimer) Wessel. Roger served in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1955 to 1963. He married Joyce Plociennik in Evanston, Ill., and they were later divorced. Roger married Linda Bach on December 10, 1983, in Lake Zurich, Ill. Roger was the Deputy Chief of Paramedics in Lake Zurich where he was also the Chief of Security for the school system and on the Police Reserves.
Roger worked for Westfalia Surge in Oak Brook, Ill. as a Purchasing Manager. During that time, he served as Chief of Police in Kildeer, Ill. for 11 years. He was transferred to the Galesville branch of Westfalia Surge from which he retired in September 1991.
He had been living in the Galesville area for the past 16 years and for awhile owned and operated the POW WOW Campground. After his retirement Roger became an Account Executive at Winona Radio where he had been working until his death.
Roger was an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Fountain City, Wis. Roger was also a member of the Galesville Lion's Club and served as the Committee Chairman for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 61 in Galesville, Wis. Survivors include his wife, Linda; four daughters; Lynn (Carl) Pepper of Trevor, Wis/, Lee (Tom) Carpenter of Trempealeau, Wis., Cindy Hoover of Harvard, Ill., and Jennifer (Keven) Keeler of Galesville, Wis.; son, Edwin William Wessel II (Austin Carino) of Trempealeau, Wis.; and nine grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Denise.
Funeral services were June 17, 2003 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Fountain City, Wis., with the Rev. Frederick West officiating. Burial will be in Windridge Cemetery in Cary, Ill.

Wozney, Rudolph J.
Rudy Wozney, 48, of Arcadia, WI, died Sunday, June 15, 2003 while fishing on Lake Onalaska.
He was born July 8, 1954 in Whitehall, WI to Alex and Theresa (Bisek) Wozney. On May 21, 1977, Rudy married Susan Scow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Arcadia.
Rudy was a member of the Holy Family Parish. He took pride in helping with the church's annual Fall Festival and also the Friday Fish Fries. He was employed at Supreme Graphics in Arcadia for 30 years. Rudy lived to fish and hunt, and he thrived on watching his children excel in sports and in life.
Rudy was an active bass fisherman on the Walmart Bass Fishing League (BFL). Some of his most prized accomplishments include a 3rd place finish at the Bass Masters Pro-Am in 1988 on Lake Okeechobee in Florida; qualifying and competing in the 1992 Red Man Regional Championship on Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma; becoming the BFL Co-Angler of the Year in 2001; achieving a 2nd place finish at the 2001 BFL Regional Championship on the Ohio River in Paducah, Kentucky which qualified Rudy to fish in the tournament of tournaments, the "Super Bowl" of fishing, the BFL All-American Championship in Shreveport, Louisiana in May, 2002. He also qualified for the 2002 Regional Championship on Kentucky Lake. To fish in the All-American was Rudy's lifelong goal and dream.
Rudy was a well-respected husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, and fisherman. He had a sense of humor that touched and will be remembered by all. Rudy was once asked, "Where is your favorite place to fish?" Without hesitation, he replied, "Where the fish are biting."
He is survived by his wife, Sue Wozney of Arcadia; one son, Matt (Rosanne Kujak) Wozney of Chicago, IL; one daughter, Lisa (Pierre Leinbach) Wozney of Madison, WI; eight brothers and sisters, Ron Wozney of Fountain City, WI, John (Mary Jane) Wozney of So. Milwaukee, WI, Agnes (LeRoy) Haines of Arcadia, Rita (Dennis) Grulkowski of Franklin, WI, Bob (Mary) Wozney of Arcadia, Alexandra (Joe) Meinerz of Arcadia, Jeff (Pam) Wozney of Alma, WI, and Perry (Sue) Wozney of Glenmore, PA.
Preceding Rudy in death were his parents and one brother, Eugene.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at the Holy Family Parish (formerly, St. Stanislaus Catholic Church) in Arcadia, with Rev. Patrick Umberger officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Wozney Funeral Home where there will be an 8:00 p.m. Prayer Service. Friends may also call from 8:00 until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Serving as casket bearers will be Rudy's bass fishing buddies, Jeff Benson, Charlie Benson, Jim McKie, Doug Stanton, Jeff Ritter, and Ron Severson. Honorary bearers will be co-workers from Supreme Graphics, Beatrice Suchla, Bonnie Klopotek, Jackie Sonsalla, Virgie Severson, Jodi Laughery, Pam Waters, Phyllis Middleton, Brian Blaschko, Ron Pronschinske, Sam Erickson, Otto Pape, Bill Lunsford, Jim Blaschko, Al Blaschko, and Chuck Blaschko.
Rudy's family respectfully asks that memorials be directed to "Family Wishes, " the New Education Center, or to the Franciscan Skemp Healthcare Nursing Home.

Woods, Dolores
Katherine (Dee)
Dolores Katherine (Schmitt) Woods, 85, Winona, died May 22, 2003, at Meadowbrook Manor Nursing Home, Naperville, Ill.
A memorial service was held Friday, June 13, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Interment was in St. Paul's Memorial Garden.

Johnson, Florence
Florence Johnson, of Lake Winona Manor, died Monday, June 9, 2003, at Community Memorial Hospital.
A Mass of Celebration was held Thursday, June 12, at St. Casimir's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in a private service at a later date.

Duffy, Kenneth J.
Kenneth J. Duffy, 78, of 854 East Fourth St., died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Lake Winona Manor.
Ken was born January 20, 1925, in Winona, to John and Celia (Czaplewski) Duffy. He married Harriette Herber on April 10, 1947. They later divorced.
Ken graduated from American Trade School of Kansas City, Mo., as a mechanic. He had been employed at Nystrom Motors, National Can Retinning, Madison Silo, and Winona Park and Rec Department. He loved his job with the Park Rec Department and the people he worked with there.
Ken was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, Veterans of Foreign Wars Neville-Lien Post #1287, American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post #9, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1243, and the Winona Athletic Club.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, in the Pacific Theatre, 25th Infantry Division, 27th Regiment (Wolf Hounds) and served in the occupation of Japan until 1946.
Ken loved talking to anyone about his experiences in the service. He was very proud to have served his country. Ken was always available to give advice about fixing cars and lawnmowers. If people didn't understand, he would have them bring the problem to him and fix it for them.
Ken's grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He loved visiting with them and spending time with them. Ken would always notice articles in the newspaper about any of his grandkids and would comment about how proud he was of them.
Until Ken's health failed, he attended the stock car races and really enjoyed watching his son, Jon, race.
Ken is survived by his children, Diane (Harley) Doebbert, of Trempealeau, Wis., Pat (Janet) Duffy, of Fountain City, Wis., Mike (Gisele) Duffy, of Winona, and Jon Duffy of Winona; grandchildren, Cathy (Todd) McMahon, Tammy Simerson, Carrie Roberts, Paul Doebbert, Bryan and Sarah Duffy, and Erin and Shawn Duffy; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Tom, and grandchildren, Kevin Roberts and Ann Marie Duffy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 16, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, with Rev. Daniel R. Dernek officiating. Preliminary services will be at 10:30 a.m. at Watkowski-Pronschinske Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The VFW will provide military honors at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Fuller, Larry Tulius, Dick Henderson, Marty Mullen, Jon Mullen, and Dave Skime.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, June 15 at the Watkowski-Pronschinske Funeral Home. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Coulson, Patricia Ann
Patricia Ann Coulson, 78, of Mount Vernon, Mo., died Monday, June 9, 2003, at her home.
Graveside services will be announced at a later date in Money Creek Cemetery, Houston, Minn.

Nelsestuen, Dennis Lee
Dennis Lee Nelsestuen, 56, of 1719 West Broadway, died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at his home.
Dennis was born August 31, 1946, in Winona, to Herbert and Linda Luehmann Nelsestuen. He married Bonnie Pierzina in 1969. They were later divorced.
He worked at Badger Foundry and was a member of UAW Local #63-B.
He is survived by a son, Jamie (Carey) Nelsestuen, of Winona; a granddaughter, Brittany; his parents, Herbert and Linda Nelsestuen, of Winona; and two brothers, Herbert (Lois) Nelsestuen, of Winona, and David (Amy) Nelsestuen, of La Porte City, Iowa.
Services were held Saturday, June 14, at Martin-Myhre Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Jeff A. Franko of Central Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Rymarkiewicz, Harry J. Ramer
Harry J. Ramer Rymarkiewicz, 89, formerly of Minnesota City, Minn., died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at Lewiston Villa, Lewiston, Minn., of complications of Wegener's Disease.
He was born May 3, 1914, in Winona, to Henry and Mary (Piechowski) Rymarkiewicz. He married Adeline Skorlinski. She died August 14, 1971. He married Viola M. Yarolimek on November 24, 1973, in Winona.
He was employed at Swift & Co. for 25 years. When Swift left town, Harry then worked 14 years for the School District #861 in Minnesota City and Rollingstone, until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Parish in Minnesota City, the Winona Athletic Club and its 24 Hour Club, was a 50-year member of the Red Men Club and its 24 Hour Club, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1243, the National Rifle Association, and the Polish Heritage Society.
Harry was an avid Twins and Vikings fan. He enjoyed attending the local church dinners and going to Majestic Pines and Treasure Island, as well as hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed meeting friends for coffee and biscuits at McDonald's.
Survivors include his wife, Viola, of Lewiston Villa; a daughter, Geraldine (Albert) Kent, of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; a son, Richard Ramer, of Jordan, Minn.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Evaline) Ramer, of Winona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, a son, Ronald, four brothers and two sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at St. Paul's Church in Minnesota City, with Rev. Edward Cunningham, OMI, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at Watkowski-Pronschinske Funeral Home and again at the church on Sunday from 12 noon until time of the Mass.
