Marilyn Gast
Marilyn Luella Gast, 73, of Foxhome died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center of Breckenridge.
She was born Feb. 3, 1931, in Foxhome, to James "Jim" and Rena (Langston) Fredericks. She graduated from Delano High School in Delano, Minn.
On April 25, 1950, she married
Lyle E. Gast in Delano. They lived for many years in Maple Plain, Minn. She retired from the Maple Plain Post Office after 23 years and was currently living in Foxhome.
She was an awesome mom, grandma and great-grandma. She will be greatly missed, but the sunshine, love and wonderful memories she has brought to our lives will remain with us forever.
She is survived by Lyle Gast of Foxhome; daughters: Barbara J. (Gordy) Orso of Fergus Falls, Sheree L. (Albert) Lyrek of Delano, and Linda K. (Patrick) Brickley of Buffalo; son, Gordon J. (Katie) Gast of Campbell; grandchildren, Kaytee L. Andres, Merri R. (Craig) Walz, Bryan L. Gast, Mikeal C. Brickley and Matthew D. Brickley; great-grandchildren: Kelcee M. Andres, Rachel J. Andres, Aaron M. Walz, Andrew A. Walz and Ashley M. Walz; one brother, Norman Fredericks of Texas; and one sister, Marjorie (Leo) Salonek of Montrose. Also surviving are Rudy and Delores Langston of Fergus Falls and many other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Rena; a younger brother, David Fredericks; and aunts and uncles.

William Wilkinson
William Wilkinson, 80, of Fergus Falls died Aug. 14, 2004, at Lake Region Hospital of Fergus Falls.
He was born Sept. 12, 1923, in Henning, to William and Josephine (Christianson) Wilkinson. He was baptized at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church of Fergus Falls. He grew up in the Parkers Prairie area. For a period of time he worked for Minnesota Utilities, then enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve during World War II. He served in the European Theater, earning a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He received an honorable discharge in 1946.
He married
Gloria Mersy April 5, 1947, in St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Minneapolis. After they were married
, they lived in Parkers Prairie for a short time and then moved to Fergus Falls. He then started working for Otter Tail Power and retired in 1986 after 40 years with the company as a lead lineman.
His interests were hunting, fishing, flying and nature. He was an outdoors enthusiast. During their marriage they traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Mexico and Canada.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; two sons, Stephen (Ronnie) Wilkinson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Tom Wilkinson of Hutchinson, Minn.; eight grandchildren and their families: Kimberly (Chad) Wallace and their child Cody, Chris (Jenny) Van Dyke and their children, Summer, Alanna, Ezra and Micah, Michael Wilkinson and friend Nicole Huffman, Sierra (Tommy) Walkenbach and their children, Ashley, Shae, Brody and Aubrey, Carmen Wilkinson and friend Corey Stafford, Allison Wilkinson, Sara Johnson and friend Charles Lundeen with two children Andrew and Samuel, and Matthew Wilkinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Wilkinson on July 28, 1996; grandson, Chad; brother, Robert; and three stepsisters: Auro, Olive and Ethel.
Visitation: Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home with a prayer service at 6:30. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Selma Rudh
Selma Johanne Rudh died Sat., Aug. 14, 2004, at her home in San Bernardino, Calif. She was born in Pelican Rapids, in 1915, to Karl and Mathilda Kopperud, both of Norwegian descent.
She married
Charles Rudh in 1936 in Pelican Rapids, and they spent nine years in Benson and Montevideo before moving to Fergus Falls, where they lived for 18 years. In 1963 they moved to San Bernardino.
They had nine children, and she was admired for being a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She will be missed, but lovingly remembered, by her family and many close friends
They will always treasure her cookies, breads and meals graciously prepared and shared with great generosity. Her bowling pals of 30 years knew her as "Sally" and could always count on her positive outlook on life.
She was a charter member of the Aerie F.OE. #2339 Auxiliary in Fergus Falls, a member of the Sons of Norway and an active member in Highland Avenue Lutheran Church.
Selma shared her art of cooking with many patrons as a cook at "The Little Kitchen" in San Bernardino during the 1960's.
Her love for family and friends was the central focus of her life and was always there for them.
She is survived by six sons: Paul (Barbara), Fargo, Job (Rose) of Yacaipa, Calif., David of Redding, Calif., Michael (LuAnn) of Fergus Falls, Donald of San Bernardino, Steven of Polson, Mont., three daughters: Margaret (Donald) Koester of Fergus Falls, Vicki Rudh-Jones (Michael) of South Beloit, Ill., and LeeAnn Harp of San Bernardino; brother, James Kopperud of Lynwood, Wash.; sister-in-law, Adeline Rudh of Rothsay; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Highland Avenue Lutheran Church, 1820 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA 92404.

Earl Haukos
Earl William Haukos, 77, of Fergus Falls died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at Lake Region Hospital of Fergus Falls. At the time of his death Earl was surrounded by his family.
He was born March 3, 1927, near Malta, Mont., to Albert and Florence (Brink) Haukos. The family moved to Otter Tail County during Earl's first year of life and lived by Edward, Minn. He attended school in Edward until the family moved to Fergus Falls, where he finished his education. For several years he worked different jobs in Fergus Falls and California.
On Oct. 12, 1950, he married
Arlene Monson. To this marriage, three children were born: Linda, Sam and Scott. In 1954, the family moved to Fairbanks, Ak., where Earl traveled the state with is job on the DEW line. While Earl worked seasonal jobs in Alaska, the family returned to Minnesota in 1957. In the 1960's, he returned to Minnesota, where he and his brother, Clifford, built the "Last Resort" on Long Lake. He began working at the Fergus Falls Treatment Center in 1964 and retired from there in 1986.
He loved adventure, was a hunter and taught his love of it to his boys. His wife, family and grandchildren were the light of his life. He loved good food, funny jokes, riding four - wheeler with "Jake" and hugs. He also enjoyed the company of good friends and family to play games and cards. He is and always will be "the reigning Cribbage Champion" of the Haukos family.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Arlene; one daughter and two sons, Linda Haukos of Fergus Falls, Sam (Nancy) Haukos of Ashby, and Scott Haukos of Park Rapids; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Joey, and Kristin Haukos of Elbow Lake, and Marisa (Sam) Vigil of Santa Fe, New Mexico; three step-grandchildren, Amanda and Brandon Olhoft, and Iza Alley of Minneapolis; two great-grandchildren, Sage and River; two brothers, Al of Cimarron, New Mexico, and Cliff of Erhard, Minnesota; and one sister, Irene Potter of Santa Monica, Calif. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Nora Ross and Ardis Reed.

Lydell Miller
Lydell Miller, 45, of Tintah, Minn., formerly of Campbell, Nashua and Breckenridge, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at Innovis Health of Fargo.
He was born July 18, 1959, in Breckenridge, to Elder and Lois (Hasse) Miller. He grew up in the Nashua and Breckenridge area and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1978. He married
Pam Stave in April 1979. They had three children: Kayla, Brandon and Matthew.
He worked as a janitor and drove school bus for the Campbell-Tintah School District for over 20 years. He enjoyed his job because of the interaction with the students and staff. He always treasured any time he spent with his wife and children. Camping, fishing, woodworking and refinishing furniture were his favorite past times. He was also an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. He had just been diagnosed with leukemia when he died.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Miller, rural Tintah, Minn.; sons, Brandon and Matthew, rural Tintah; daughter, Kayla Miller of Watertown, S.D.; sisters: Judy Miller (Richard Kropp), Wahpeton; Beatrice Albright, Wahpeton; Mary McLaren, Crystal Lake, Minn.; and Linda Flores, Yakima, Wash.; brothers: Jeff (Sandy), Nashua, Bernie (Deb), Foxhome, Robert (Marilyn), Wahpeton, John and Joe, both of Nashua, Dale of Campbell; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Norma and Dean Holtz of Tintah; father-in-law Shervin Stave, Morris; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elder and Lois Miller; sister, Joan Miller; and his mother-in-law Marjorie Stave.
Visitation: Sunday, Sept. 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 and also Monday one hour prior to the funeral at the church
Service: Monday, Sept. 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Campbell

Oscar Olson
Oscar Burnell Olson, 71, of Crown Point, Ind., died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, Ind.
He was born in rural Grant County Jan. 9, 1933, to Silas and Kristi (Torgerson) Olson. He graduated from high school in Herman, where he was active in the sports of football and track. He continued his education at St. Olaf's College. From Aug. 17, 1955, to Aug. 31, 1959, he served in the United States Air Force. Following his discharge, he enrolled in the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Business. He served in the Air Force Reserves until 1971.
On July 16, 1966, he married
Rosalie Ernstes in Anderson, Ind. Bernie retired from General Motor Corporation as an industrial engineer and as a plant manager for the American Air Filter Company. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Rosalie of Crown Point, Ind.; daughers, Kristen (Joseph) Beaulieu of Evanston, Ill., and Jennifer (Michael) McCann of Lake Villa, Ill.; one brother, Carlton Nestegard of Kalispell, Mont., and sister-in-law Elaine Rivers of Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Kristi Olson; and one brother, Charles Nestegard.
Visitation: Tuesday at the church from noon until services
