Angeline 'Angie' Lindmeyer, 83, of 221 S. Valley in New Ulm died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999 at her home.
Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. today and 7:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. St. Anne's Court will pray the rosary at 6:30 p.m.. and there will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Carol and Louis Amyotte of Cottage Grove, and Sharon Schiltz of New Ulm; son and daughter-in-law, David and Nancy Lindmeyer of St. Louis Park; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jacob F. Lindmeyer on Nov. 1, 1967; brothers, Willard Hacker and Leo Hacker; sister, Aurelia Guldan; a sibling in infancy; and a grandson, Joseph Amyotte on Nov. 14, 1990.
She was born on July 17, 1916, in New Ulm to Alois and Mary (Baumann) Hacker. She married Jacob F. Lindmeyer on May 23, 1944, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette. They lived in New Ulm. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm and was a member of the St. Anne's Court 389 - N.C.S.F. of New Ulm.

Larry C. Stewart, 59, of rural Sleepy Eye died Friday at his home.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with burial in New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm, and one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Stewart; sons, Scott and Sean Stewart; daughter, Stephanie Stewart of rural Sleepy Eye; parents, Raymond and Florence Stewart of Courtland, Kansas; brother, Steve Stewart and his wife Bonnie of Hampton, Iowa; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emmett and Regina Burke of New Hampton, Iowa; brothers-in-law, Ray Burke of Edina, Jerry Burke and his wife Carol of Manchester, Iowa, Tim Burke and his wife Sue of Apple Valley, Joe Burke and his wife Connie of New Hampton, Iowa, Piet Maarson of the Netherlands; sisters-in-law, Kay Allen and her husband Tim of Duluth, Melanie Burke of Eagan; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Marcella Maarson.
Larry Charles Stewart was born Aug. 16, 1940, in Des Moines, Iowa. He spent his youth in Courtland, Kansas, where he graduated from Courtland High School in 1958. He attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and the University of Eau Claire-Wisconsin, earning his bachelor of science degree in biology and a master's degree in ecology. He taught school in Plainfield, Iowa, for 15 years. He moved to New Ulm in 1977. He married Arlene Burke on May 15, 1982 in Duluth. They lived in Sigel township. He later taught school in Springfield for a year. He worked for Minnesota's Department of Natural Resources as a fisheries technician. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm, New Ulm Hockey Association, New Ulm Baseball Association, New Ulm Figure Skating Association, and the Izaak Walton League.

Robert Lane, 86, of Sanborn died Thursday, Oct. 29, 1999, at Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Sanborn with burial Sanborn Cemetery.
He is survived by wife, Velma, of Sanborn; step-children, Milton Matteson of North Minneapolis and Melody (Mrs. Larry) Goeman of Jeffers; grandchildren, Marc, Kim and Collette Hoff, Nathan, Jarrett and Holly Bagley, and Grant Goeman; six great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Reed of Parkers Prairie; and two nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry and Clarence, and sisters, Hilda Breneman and Bessie Radach.
He was born Dec. 10, 1912, in Cottonwood County to William and Emma (Imme) Lane in Amboy Township, rural Sanborn. He attended the country school near his home. He farmed in Germantown Township. He was one of the last farmers in that area to give up using horses for farming. He married Velma Smithers on June 10, 1949 at Methodist parsonage in Redwood Falls. In 1957, he and his family moved to Blaine, Wash., for a year. He worked on a potato farm there. They returned to the Germantown farm and he worked at the Ochs Brick and Tile Company in rural Springfield. In March 1978 they moved to Sanborn. He worked for Swede's Salvage and Don Hogen in Sanborn.

Richard J. Mathiowetz, 64 of Leavenworth died suddenly on Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999 in Sleepy Eye.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 7:30 a.m.-noon Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. There will be a Knights of Columbus rosary at 5 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; children and spouses: Brian and Ronda; Glen and Lana; Dean and Judy; Julie and Paul Anderson, all of Sleepy Eye; Suzann and Troy Hendricks of Bemidji; 15 grandchildren; his mother, Louisa Mathiowetz of Sleepy Eye; brothers and sisters and their spouses: Roman Mathiowetz of St. Paul; Rosemary and James Rathman of Comfrey; Rita and Patrick Morgan of Elmore; Reinhold and Connie Mathiowetz of Marshall and Alma Mathiowetz of New Ulm; several uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Martin; son, Leon in 1979; brother, Rudy; several in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He was born Oct. 23, 1935, in Sleepy Eye to Martin and Louisa (Moldan) Mathiowetz . He attended District 12 School in Leavenworth Township. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1953. He married Mary Lou Koll on Oct. 30, 1956, at St. Michael's Church in Morgan. They lived in Leavenworth. He began his career road construction at age 18 at the Martin Mathiowetz Construction Company. He played baseball for the Leavenworth Baseball team in his youth, and served as a board member for the team as an adult. He belonged to Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, Paynesville Sportsman's Club and Koronis Lake Association. He restored more than 100 acres of his own land to natural habitat. He was a member of Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth and a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. As a philanthropist, he supported projects such as building the Sleepy Eye hockey arena, Divine Providence building improvements, Schoenstatt on the Lake facilities, the athletic field lighting at Sleepy Eye Public School, Leavenworth Baseball and Softball fields, Stark Ball Field, all-weather track at Sleepy Eye Public School and St. Mary's football field. His benefactors include Church of the Japanese Martyrs, St. Mary's Catholic Church and schools, Crosier Seminary, St. John Vianney Seminary, San Lucas Toliman in Guatemala, Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life, Brown County Historical Society and many other missions and charities. He served on the board of directors of Minnesota Transportation Alliance, Associated General Contractors of Minnesota, Highway Construction Industry Council and the Agri-Growth Council. He was also affiliated with the Minnesota Asphalt Pavers Association and Concrete Pavers Association.
The family prefers memorials to the Richard and Mary Lou Mathiowetz Foundation.

Gertrude Fischer, 95, of New Ulm died Friday, Oct, 29, 1999 at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church. Firle Funeral Home of New Ulm is handling arrangements.
She is survived by son, E.H. "Bud" Fischer and his wife Jeanne of San City West, Ariz.; son-in-law, Ron Engel and his wife Beverly of Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandchildren, Jane Chandler of Montreal, Canada, John Fischer and his wife (Daun) of LaCrosse, Wis., Julie Christian and her husband Jerry of Sun City West, Ariz., Janet Head and her husband Jeff of Littleton, Color., Paul Engel of San Diego, Calif., Bill Engel of New York,, NY., and Katie Ubl and her husband Joe of Albert Lea; seven great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Lester Gieseke of Minneapolis. She was preceded In death by her husband Otto and a daughter, Arlene Engel.
She was born March 31, 1904, in Lafayette Township, Nicollet County to Theodore and Clara (Precht) Gieseke, was born March 31, 1904. She attended country school. She married Otto Fischer on Nov. 4, 1921, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. They lived in New Ulm. Her husband died in 1994. She continued to make her home in New Ulm and lived in the assisted-living apartments of Oak Hills Living Center. Most recently, she lived at Knudson Place in Albert Lea. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Hertha Nielson, 91, of Springfield, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel, with burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation is 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Home Chapel.
Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bittler and Lucille Sandbo of Springfield; brother-in-law, Hans Sondergaard of Westbrook; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brothers, Edward and Harry; sisters, Lillian and Norma; and nephews James Sondergaard and Richard Bittler.
She was born July 30, 1908, in Springfield, to Herman and Louise (Arndt) Bittler. She attended school in Springfield. Following graduation, she attended cosmetology school and moved to California. She married John Nielson on June 16, 1947, in Paradise, Calif. She returned to Springfield in May 1989. She entered St. John Lutheran Home in March 1993. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Springfield, and the senior citizens.

Mary Leibold Krieg, 95, formerly of New Ulm, died Friday. Oct. 22, 1999, at Riverview Manor, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.
A Memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Mary's Church, East Dubuque, Ill. Burial will follow in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
She is survived by sons, David and Allan Krieg, of Wisconsin, daughters, Jeanne Van Ert of Wisconsin, Carol Breen of Illinois, and Sharon Malecki of Mankato, Minn.; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter.
In New Ulm, she was a member of St. Mary's parish, St. Mary's Guild Catholic Daughters and Senior Citizens.

Bernice Hayek Fecker, 86, of Buffalo Lake, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart with burial in St. Raphael's Catholic Cemetery in Springfield.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at the church and continues one hour prior to the service on Saturday. A vigil service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home in Hector.
She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Finnell and husband Bob of Stewart, and Karol Robertson and husband Alan of Cartersville, Ga.; grandchildren, Ryan and Kristi Finnell, and Jonathan and Elizabeth Robertson; sister, Edna Johanek and husband Albin of Mountain Lake; brother-in-law, Sylvestor Hornick of Comfrey; sister-in-law, Bernice Wolterstorff of Knapp, Wis., and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; infant children LeRoy, Janet and Deanna; sister-in-law Catherine Hornick; brother-in-law, Clifford Wolterstorff, and other relatives.
She was born Jan. 10, 1913, to Edward and Frieda (Hamp) Hayek in Milwaukee, Wis. She grew up in Mountain Lake where she attended country school. She married Walter John Fecker on Sept. 28, 1944, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Comfrey. They resided on a farm south of Buffalo Lake all their lives.

Norma Kirchoff, 67, of Stewart died Tuesday, Nov.2, 1999, at Glencoe Area Health Center, Long Term Care.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stewart.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Hughes Funeral Home in Stewart and continues one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Maynard; mother-in-law, Bertha Kirchoff of Stewart; sister-in-law, Geraldine Grenke and her husband Maynard of Glencoe; niece, Carol McMullin and her husband Jack of Minneapolis and their children Chris and Whitney; and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Willmer; and her sister-in-law, Eileen.
She was born Aug. 28, 1932, in Glencoe Township, McLeod County, to George and Anna (Axt) Karg. She grew up in the Glencoe area and graduated from Glencoe High School. She married Maynard Kirchoff on May 28, 1960 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. She worked at the Security State Bank and Trust in Glencoe for 44 years, eventually becoming vice-president. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stewart.

Floyd F. Guldan, 85, of 412 S. Front in New Ulm died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Fairfax Community Home.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial in the Catholic Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm veterans organizations.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and 7:30-10 a.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Guldan of New Ulm; daughter, Marie Guldan of New Ulm; and a sister, Margaret Metzen of Columbia, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was born on Nov. 9, 1913, in Gilfillan to John and Barbara (Seifert) Guldan. He married Marian Macho on May 23, 1936, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. He served for three years in the U.S. Army during World War II and had served in the European Theatre. He was employed as a machinist at New Ulm Manufacturing. He retired in 1976. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm, the St. Mary's Catholic Aid Society, the International Association of Machinists, and the New Ulm Hockey Association. He actively worked for the establishment of Vogel Arena.

Allis Sigrid Klutz, 93, of Trimont and formerly of St. James died Oct. 31, 1999, at the Trimont Health Care Center.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. today at First Lutheran Church in Trimont with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
Kramer Funeral Home handled arrangements.
She is survived by her son Frederick Klutz of Rochester; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, William Klutz and his wife Paula of St. James; sister-in-law, Marie Berdell of Trimont; cousin Minnie Swanson of Trimont; very good friends Harold and Elaine Anderson of Trimont; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred in 1985; several brothers and sisters; other relatives.
She was born May 9, 1906, in Cedar Township, Martin County, to Nels and Nellie (Johnson) Swanson. She attended District Q93 country school in Cedar Township and Triumph-Monterey school. She completed her schooling at St. James, graduating in 1924. She graduated from Mankato Teachers College in 1953. She taught school in St. James and the surrounding area for over 30 years. She retired in 1971. She married Fred Klutz at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fairmont on May 4, 1929. They lived in St. Paul until moving to St. James. She was employed at Sherr-Tumico Incorporated in St. James and did custom sewing. In 1983 the couple moved to Trimont. Fred died in 1985. She moved to Trimont Health Care Center in 1992.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Trimont and a former member of Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James. She was active in the Business and Professional Women's Club, Ladies Aid circles, and teaching Sunday School. She belonged to the Retired Teachers Association. She received the "Service for Mankind" award from the St. James Sertoma Club.

Thomas John Anderson, 33, of Centralia, Mo., and formerly of rural Ceylon, died Oct. 29, 1999 at his home.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Sherburn with burial in the Palestine Lutheran Cemetery in rural Dolliver, Iowa.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn and one hour prior to the services at the church. There will be a scriptural wake service 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife; son, Nels; parents, Lyle and Marian Anderson of rural Ceylon; sisters: Mary Rossbach and her husband Doug of rural Hanska, and Ann Soderlund and her husband Pat of New Prague; father and mother-in-law, Ray and Barbie Hackert of Salisbury, Md.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Margaret Kroot and her husband Larry of Rochester, New York, Joan Condyles and her husband Joe of Pocomoke, Md., Michael Hackert and his wife Geraldine of Corning, N.Y.; and Eric Hackert of Bowie, Md. and Janet Hackert of Bethany, Mo.; three nieces and six nephews; aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Clara Anderson, and Peter and Daisy Pytleski, and other relatives.
He was born Dec. 1, 1965, to Lyle and Marian (Pytleski) Anderson at Ceylon. He graduated from Ceylon High School in 1984 and from St. John's University in 1988 with a degree in chemistry. He graduated from Clemson University, Clemson, S.C. in 1990 with a master's degree in agronomy. He married Carol Hackert on June 8, 1991 in Bellefone, Penn. He was employed at the University of Missouri in Columbia as an agronomist and chemist for ABC Laboratories. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Centralia, Mo.
