Clarice T., age 86, of Waconia, former long time resident of St. Paul, was called home on March 26, 2012. Greatly loved by family and friends.
Clarice was born on December 6, 1925, in Crawford County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Thomas and Clara (Quamme) Johnson. She married LaVerne O. Schaller on December 16, 1950, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Carol was a homemaker, and a member of Sons of Norway.
Survived by daughters, Gail (Michael) Bindewald, Carol (Gary) Averbeck; grandchildren, Karen, Jason (Andrea), and Brian (Kelley) Bindewald, Joy (Darrin) Sabby, Dawn (Hunter) Anderson, Jared (Alicia) Averbeck, and Dan Averbeck; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Reverend Walter Johnson and his wife, Marilyn, and Robert Johnson. Preceded by husband, LaVerne; parents, Clara and Thomas Johnson.

Joshua C. Sumerfelt
7/2/1973 — 3/25/2012
Joshua C. Sumerfelt, age 38, of Watertown, died on March 25, 2012, at his residence. Born on July 2, 1973, in Shakopee, the son on Glenda Schmitt and Larry Sumerfelt.
Joshua had a curious mind, and enjoyed walks, reading at the library, listening to music, and excursions with his friends.
Survived by mother, Glenda Schmitt of Shakopee; father, Larry Sumerfelt of Marshall; sister, Andi Sumerfelt of Sterling, Illinois; grandmother, Dorothy Schmitt of Shakopee; grandparents, Edmund and Vivian Sumerfelt of Marshall; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Joshua was preceded in death by his grandfather, Barney Schmitt.

George Henry Breeggemann
7/20/1942 — 3/23/2012
George Henry Breeggemann, age 69, of Shakopee, died Friday, March 23, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee. Born July 20, 1942, in Shakopee, the son of John and Marie (Neiters) Breeggemann. George served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On June 15, 1968 George married Carol Eiden at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska. George worked in Security at Mystic Lake Casino for 12 years, and was a school bus driver in Shakopee for almost 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, softball and playing cards. He was a retired Shakopee fireman and member of the VFW 4046 in Shakopee. George was also a member of the James F. Campbell Knights of Columbus Council 1685 of Shakopee. George is survived by loving wife, Carol; children, Jody, Jeff, Sondra (Craig) Glynn, Kurt (Tiffany); grandchildren, Corinna and Andrea Glynn, Chance Breeggemann, Maddyson Breeggemann, Selina and Skylla Draman; sisters, Angeline Woodworth, Virginia (Norbert) Gregory; brother, John Joseph (Sandra); sister-in-law, Janelle Breeggemann; special niece, Debbie Green; many other loved nieces and nephews. Preceded by parents, John and Marie; sisters and brothers, Mary Ploumen, Michael, Marjorie (Bernard) Schindler, Georgina, John Henry, and Bernard; brother-in-law, Charles Woodworth.

Carol M. Sulik
9/2/1946 — 3/16/2012
Carol M., age 65, of Shakopee, died on Friday March 16, 2012, at her residence. Born on September 2, 1946, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Bertrand and Virginia (Hartmann) Goemer. Carol was a graduate of St. Margaret's High School. She married Michael Sulik, and until 1978, Carol was employed by the United States Government with the C.I.A Carol had an immaculate garden, she also enjoyed playing bridge, bowling and softball.
Survived by husband, Michael; mother, Virginia Goemer; brothers, Lee (Cathy), Gene (Nancy); sisters, Lisa Goemer (Pete), Laura (Mark) Nelson. preceded in death by father, Bert Goemer; brother, Glen Goemer.

Steven H. Pieper
10/13/1953 — 3/13/2012
Steven H., age 58, of Shakopee. Born October 13, 1953, in Aurora, Colorado, the son of William H. Bill, Sr., and Virginia Pieper. He worked for 40 years at CPP Minneapolis as a manufacturing supervisor.
Survived by sons, Jeremy and Steven H. Jr.; parents, William H. Bill, Sr., and Virginia; sisters, Cheryl Pieper, Debra (Charles) Hawkinson; brother, William, Jr.; significant other, Jeannie Johanson. preceded in death by grandparents.

Jewel E. Gay
4/23/1932 — 3/12/2012
Jewel Edsel Gay, age 79, of Shakopee, died on Monday, March 12, 2012, at St. Gertrude's Care Center in Shakopee. Born in Smithville, Tennessee, on April 23, 1932, the son of Willie and Susie (Pirtle) Gay. He married Marinda Hudson. Jewel served in the United States Army. He worked his entire career for Northern Construction Company, based in Lakeville.
Jewel is survived by wife, Marinda; daughters, Linda Kubiszewski and Andrea Gay; grandchildren, Jessica Kubiszewski, Kenneth Kubiszewski, Cody Gay, Kristyn Barrington, Mathan Schoknecht, Mamie Schoknecht; great-grandchildren, Jabin Kubiszewski, Austin Egbers; brothers, Ralph Gay, Ronald Gay; sisters, Evelyn Underwood, Naomi Cripps, Dean Waggoner. preceded in death by parents; brother, Austin Gay; infant brother, Donald Gay.

Roberta C. Witt
5/5/1923 — 4/24/2012
Roberta C., age 88, of Burnsville, passed away gently on April 24, 2012. She left this world with a smile on her face as she entered God's loving embrace, surrounded by her family. Born on May 5, 1923, in New Prague, Minnesota, the daughter of Mathias and Albina (Svoboda) Ruhland. Roberta married Julian Witt on June 22, 1943, in Union Hill.
She is forever loved and missed by her three children, Lanny Witt (Mary) of Fremont, CA, Lu Ann Carter (Dave) of Edina, Gregg Witt (Meg) of Carver; 8 adoring grandchildren, Kim, Nikki, Tommy, and Molly Carter, Amy, Shannon, Amanda, and Garret Witt; as well as brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Julian Witt.
Roberta was a devout Catholic and an eternal optimist whose greatest joy came from being surrounded by her family and friends. Her sense of humor, zest for life, incessant curiosity and selflessness were a gift and an example to all who knew her. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. Whether singing with her music group, the Troubadours, playing cards with her card club, or taking organ lessons, she was always up for anything. SPECIAL THANKS TO THE LOVING, CARING STAFF AT N.C. LITTLE MEMORIAL HOSPICE FOR THE TENDER CARE THEY GAVE OUR MOM.
She will be loved, missed, and in our hearts forever.

Jeff Raymond Noble
10/21/1954 — 4/6/2012
Jeff Raymond Noble, age 57, of Shakopee, died on April 6, 2012.
Born in Los Angeles, California on October 21, 1954, the son of Edith W. (Lynch) Noble. He lived in Van Nuys, California before enlisting and serving in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Jeff worked as a flight controller for the US Air Force in Nevada. He was a long time employee of the US Postal Service as a Mail Handler. He has many friends from the Twin Cities Metro Hub, the Minneapolis P & DC, and now the Minneapolis/St. Paul Network Distribution Center and the St. Paul P & DC, both in Eagan. Jeff also has many friends who are not postal employees.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents and had no siblings. His friends became his family and he will be missed by them.

Ruben F. Ruehle
8/23/1931 — 4/6/2012
Ruben F. Ruehle, age 80, of Shakopee, died on April 6, 2012, at St. Gertrude's Health Care Center in Shakopee. Born on August 23, 1931, in Bird Island, MN, the son of Ruben B. and Cena (Lorenz) Ruehle. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Ruben married Marie Ruhland August 25, 1956 in Bird Island, and together for 27 years, they were the owners of Ruehle Jewelers in downtown Shakopee. For 5 years, Ruben also did real estate appraisal. Ruben was a former member and past president of the Shakopee Lions Club, and a member of the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the James F. Campbell Knights of Columbus Council 1685 of Shakopee. His hobbies included golfing in his younger years, and watching country westerns. His family and business always came first though.
Preceded by wife, Marie; infant son, Michael; brother, Larry; sister-in-law, Barb. Survived by daughter and sons, Linda Ruehle of Mankato, Mark of Minneapolis, Brad of Queen Creek, AZ, David, Scott (Jessica) both of Shakopee; grandchildren, Jacob, Samuel, Amanda; brothers, Jerry of Eden Prairie, George (Betty) of Encinitas, CA; sister, Nancy (Tom) Sullivan of Scottsdale, AZ; sister-in-law, Alice Ruehle of San Diego, CA.

Rosemary F. Ashton
8/6/1925 — 4/2/2012
Rosemary F., age 86, of Shakopee. Born on August 6, 1925, in Slayton Village, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Pille) Kopel. After high school, Rosemary went on to become a nurses assistant. She married Frederick Ashton on September 25, 1945. Rosie enjoyed to work, but her number one priority was her children. She was active at her church, Church of St. Mark in Shakopee, and especially liked helping with Loaves and Fishes. Rosie was a nurses aid at St. Francis Hospital.
Survived by daughters and sons, JoAnn (Bob) Smishek, Bob (Sandy), Nancy (Bob) MacDonald, David; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; sister, Leona Schafer; daughter-in-law, Nann Ashton. Preceded by husband, Frederick; son, Donald; sisters and brothers.

Amy Ellen Larca
11/13/1946 — 4/1/2012
Amy Ellen Crooks-Larca, Blue Sky Woman. Mahtiya To Winyan, age 65, of Prior Lake, born on November 13, 1946, in Pipestone, MN, the daughter of Amos and Rosemma (Coursolle) journeyed to the Spirit World on April 1, 2012. Member of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.
At various times, Amy served as the Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary/Treasurer of the SMSC Business Council.
Survived by husband, Robert Larca; children, Cyndy Stade-Lieske (Joe), Terry Stade Jr. (Jackie), Tricia Lafferty (Joe Jr.), Melinda Agundis (Marco); grandchildren, David Pickit, Ashley Pickit (Eddie Friendshuh), Carrissa Pickit (JT Seaboy), Blaire Pickit (Eric), Kristina Zander (Jeremy), Krystal Wendland (Michael), Jonathon Stade-Repasky, Alex Stade, Joey Saba (Whitney), Jamie Saba (Chris), Steven Saba, Rosemma Mosley, Casandra Stade (Niq), Warren Stade, Cady, Maiah, and Jakob Muelken; 15 great-grandkids; brothers, Raymond (Jo Ellen) Crooks, Glynn Crooks; adopted relative, James Cioci; adopted brothers and sister, Jim Muelken (Jodi), Shelly Toso (Stephan), George Wettlin; nephew, Nathan (Nicole) Crooks; son-in-law, Jeff Repasky; brother-in-law, Charles Larca (Diane); nephew, Jesse Larca (Kelly); many cousins and friends; dog, Louie. preceded in death by parents, Amos and Rosemma Crooks; infant daughter, Terri Lynn Stade; daughter, Tracy Stade-Repasky.
