Suzanne Walsh, age 50, of Shakopee passed away on Saturday, October 6th, 2007 at her home.

She is survived by friend John Selsvold of Shakopee, son, Michael John Walsh III of Shakopee, brothers, Eugene “ Bud” (Sheryl) Luce; Mike Luce of Shakopee; David Luce of Denver, CO; nephews, Jake Luce; Eric Luce; Garrett Luce; niece Emilie Dodge.

Preceded by parents Eugene & Mary (Cheever) Luce.

Visitation, Tuesday Oct 9, 4 till 8 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 833 S Marschall Rd, Shakopee.

Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, Oct 10, 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Mary, 535 S. Lewis St, Shakopee with visitation 1 hr prior at the funeral home.

Janet Greening

Janet Greening, A good soul, age 87 of Shakopee passed away on Wednesday, October 9th, 2007 at Friendship Manor in Shakopee, MN.

Survived by children, Barbara Greening, Doug (Angie) Greening, Dale Greening, Dave (Deb) Greening; grandchildren, Jennifer Witeli, Anna Rademacher, Aaron Greening, Scott Greening, Kelsey Greening; great- grandchildren, Elisabeth, Charlie, Jack, Trenton; brothers, Earl (Lenora) Priess and John Preiss; sister-in-law, Murine Priess; dear friend & sister- in-law, Florence Greening. preceded in death by husband, Carl; daughters, Mary Greening, Betty Greening; grandchildren, Amy Jo Greening, Angela Marie Greening; parents, John & Minnie; brother, Wendell Priess and sister, Mildred Harms.

Funeral Services were Friday, October 12, 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 119 8th Ave., in Shakopee. Interment was at Valley cemetery in Shakopee.

Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.

Versa (Murphy, Busch) Tanguay

Versa H. Tanguay, age 87 of Hermantown, MN formerly of Eden Prairie, Chanhassen and Jordan passed away on Friday, October 12th, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.

She is survived by daughters Kathy (Charlie) Schaub of Duluth, Edie (Larry) Jaerger of Sioux City, IA, grandchildren Chuck ( Kerry) Schaub, Bill Schaub, Kelly (Jim) Rathe, Kris (Michael) Anderson, Tom Schaub, Joe (Katherine) Schaub, Mike Schaub, Kara Schaub, Amy (Bart) Huelsenbeck, Jacob (Emily) Jaerger, 17 great grandchildren, brothers Merle (Ginger) Smith of Jordan, Dean (Rena) Smith of Shakopee, sisters in-law Dorothy Smith of Rogers, Rosemary Smith of Chanhassen.

preceded in death by husbands William Murphy, Gerhard Busch, Wilfred Tanguay, parents Nile & Katherine (Visner) Smith, sister Doris (Wilbert) Woerdehoff, brothers Kenneth Smith, Garlan Smith.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, October 16th at 11 AM at The Church of St. Mark in Shakopee. Interment at Shakopee Catholic cemetery.

George G. Vanderwerf

George G. Vanderwerf, age 83, of Prior Lake passed away on Friday, October 12th, 2007 at his home.

George is survived by children Warren (Susan) Wilson of Big Lake, Julie (Ron) Harms of Burnsville, grandchildren Katie Hassell, Jerry Schmitz & Christopher Schmitz, great grandchildren Jacob & Haley Schmitz, several brothers & sisters.

Preceded by wife Kathryn, son Irving Wilson, parents Peter & Anna (Hayenga) Vanderwerf, several brothers & sisters.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 16th, 4 till 6 PM at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home in Prior Lake. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, October 16th at 6:00 PM at Ballard–Sunder Funeral Home in Prior Lake. Interment at Spring Lake cemetery in Prior Lake.

Harold Charles Stromwall

Harold Stromwall of Prior Lake passed away Monday, October 15th, 2007. At Our Lady of Good Counsel Home, St. Paul, MN

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 19th, 9:30 –11:00 AM, Church of St. Michael, Prior Lake, MN. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 AM. Interment will be at St. Michael Catholic cemetery, Prior Lake, MN

Loved and forever missed by: daughters, Judy (Tom) Vickerman of Maple Plaine, Carol (Al) Sallee, Spencer, WI, son, Christopher (Jean) Stromwall of Lakeville; 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren

Kevin K. Bembenek

Kevin Bembenek, 49, of Prior Lake, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007.

Kevin was born in Gaylord, Minn. March 3, 1958 to Erich and Elsie (Hahn) Bembenek. He and Danette (White) Bembenek were married April 22, 1990 in Hawaii. They were blessed with two children, Kaitlin and Garrett.

Kevin was a U.P.S. driver for 30 years. He loved the outdoors and hunting to include training his dogs. Kevin was an avid reader, enjoyed history, water skiing and woodworking. He was an instructor for 4H Shooting Sports and a member of the Minneapolis Gun Club. He also supported Pheasants Forever and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Loved and forever missed by his loving wife, Danette; children, Kaitlin, 14 and Garrett, 10; mother, Elsie Bembenek of Gaylord; sisters, Jan Barosh of Hawaii, Sandra (Richard) Weckwerth of Gaylord, Vernette (Steve) Mehlhop of Gaylord; many nieces and nephews. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Erich Bembenek and brother, Marlin.

Visitation is Sunday, Sept. 9 from 4-8 p.m. at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Prior Lake and also one hour prior to the service at church on Monday.

Funeral service on Monday, Sept. 10, 11 a.m. at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in Prior Lake.

Doris Margaret (Zarth) Wermerskirchen

Doris Wermerskirchen, 95, of Jordan, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007.

Doris was born in Grass Lake Township, Kanabec County, Minnesota on June 30, 1912, the daughter of Hilmer and Marie (Halverson) Strand. She married Walter Zarth Nov. 14, 1932 at Brunswick Lutheran Church in Mora, Minn. Walter died Dec. 1, 1972. Doris and Alfred Wermerskirchen were married July 24, 1973 at St. John the Baptist Church in Jordan. Alfred died Feb. 18, 2001. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her nine siblings.

Doris will be remembered as a very generous and good hearted woman. She was a member of Immanual United Methodist Church in Jordan. She was the oldest member of the Jordan V.F.W. Auxiliary (65 years). Doris was a musician and played the organ, piano and accordion. She was an avid card player and loved to gamble and play bingo. This graduate of Mora High School worked at Mudbaden for 20 years and was also employed at Continental Tool and MVEC.

Loved and forever missed by her sons, Allan (Iyla) Zarth of Shakopee, Stephen Zarth and Kitty Mahal of Roseville; grandson, Kurt Zarth of Shakopee; stepson, Ronald (Eileen) Wermerskirchen of Northfield; stepdaughter, Ann Marie (Tom) Klotz of Prior Lake; stepgrandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ellie Strand of Anoka, Verna Mae Strand of Mora; many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

Visitation was Saturday, Sept. 8 from 9-10 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Jordan. Funeral services followed at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Judy McEachran presiding. Pallbearers were Harold Strand, Gary Savston, Joan Steel, Jim Maas, Fred Strand, Lonnie Strandland, Diane Gibas, and Gil Strand. Interment at Fort Snelling National cemetery, Minneapolis on Monday Sept. 10 at 10 a.m.

Donald Jay Abrams, M.D.

Donald Abrams, M.D., 68, of Prior Lake, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007 at his home after a courageous battle with myelofibrosis.

Dr. Abrams was born Nov. 9, 1938 in Chapin, Iowa to Lloyd and Mabel (Andrews) Abrams. He married Kathleen (Chamberlin) Abrams March 13, 1976 and they were blessed with four children.

He will be loved and forever missed by his loving wife, Kathe Abrams; children; Noelani Abrams of Minneapolis, Tiffany (Shane) Nichols of Cohasset, Mass., Ben (Molly) Abrams of New Brighton, David Jay Abrams of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Lily and Delaney Jay Nichols; brother, Lloyd Jr. (Marcia) Abrams of Mason City, Iowa; sister, Bonnie (Fred) MacDougal of Liscomb, Iowa; sister-in-law, Mary Abrams of Arizona; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Abrams M.D.

A time of gathering for family and friends was Friday, Sept. 14, from 3-9 p.m. at Church of St. Michael, Prior Lake, with a 7 p.m. Remembrance Service. A visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, Sept. 15, 11 a.m. at Church of St. Michael. Pallbearers are Tom Davidson, ****** Powell, Lee Sexe, Bob Goggins, Leo Le, Dr. Harry Alcorn II, Steve Schmid, Dr. Dan Trajano and Dave Fleming. Honorary pallbearers include the Monday AM & PM Golfers, Bridge Group, Executive Poker Committee, Dr. Thad Abrams, and Mary Young. Interment at Spring Lake cemetery, Prior Lake.

Donald was board certified in family medicine, a longtime dedicated physician of Park Nicollet Medical Center who was loved by his patients of the Shakopee and Prior Lake clinics. His passions were life, music and family. Donald was very involved with many community programs. He was a long time member of the Shakopee Rotary Club where he served as president, was awarded a Paul Harris fellowship and had 20 years of perfect attendance, member of the Prior Lake Yacht Club, Prior Lake Wind Jammers, and Chaska Community Band. Don was the former Chief of Staff at St. Francis Hospital, former president of the Shakopee Medical Center from 1973-1985, former South Region Practice Director of Park Nicollet Medical Clinic, former president of the Scott-Carver Medical Society and a member of the Clinical Faculty Department of Family Medicine at the U of M Medical School where he also mentored many new physicians. Donald loved a friendly competition of cards with family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, tennis, bridge, poker, downhill skiing, sailing, boating, and music. He served our country as a captain in the U.S. Army.

A recent blood drive was held in Don’s name that involved over 300 participants, 200 volunteers, 98 who where first time blood donors which resulted in 141 pints of blood donated to help those in need.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be most grateful for donations, which will be distributed by the family in Don’s name.

Marian G. Sneed

Marian Gladys (Kimpe) Sneed, age 84 of Prior Lake, MN passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 at her daughter’s home.

Marian was born December 8, 1922 at Princeton, IL to Arthur and Esther (Johnson) Norene

Survived by children: Frank (Norma) Henefield of Blooming Prairie, MN, Steve (Pam) Henefield of Green Valley, AZ, Joanne (Myron) Henrickson of Lakeville, Maureen (Scott) Spahn of Philadelphia, Norene (Rich) Chavez of St. Cloud; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; sisters: Fern (Russ) Wingo of Davenport, IA, Ruth Edlefson of Princeton, IL, Doris (Bob) Walton of Delphi, IN, Annette (Leo) Peterson of Dixon, IL

Preceded by her husbands Jerome Kimpe & Ephfrom “Cay” Sneed ; her parents; granddaughter: Lindsey Spahn; brother-in-law: Bob Edlefson

Visitation is Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, 5-8 PM at the Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Prior Lake, MN also one hour prior the service at church on Saturday

Funeral Service is Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, 11 AM, Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, (new address 3611 North Berens Road NW) Prior Lake, MN with the Rev. Kenneth Kotzer presiding.

Interment: Monday, Nov. 26th, at Fort Snelling National cemetery, Minneapolis, MN

Pallbearers are Traci Braaten, Eric Henefield, Joe Henefield, Jeff Henrickson, Mike Henrickson, Kyle Spahn, Carrie Determan

Marian was a nurse and a 1944 graduate of Augustana School of Nursing in Chicago, IL. Marian served our country in the US Army.
