Age 76 of Edina. A beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend found peace, surrounded by family, on September 11th, 2013 after a long and valiant battle with cancer complicated by a staph infection. Born in Cannon Falls, MN on April 7th, 1937. preceded in death by son, Jeff; father, Peter; mother, Marianne; and sister-in-law, Dolly. Wendell is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Terri (Jay) Cope; grandchildren, Hannah and Ben Cope of Shorewood; daughter-in-law Angie Quale and grandsons, Dylan and Justin Quale of Minnetonka; stepchildren, Della Rae (Steve) Rhoads and granddaughters, Mariah and Marissa; Eric (Michelle) Kalasz and grandchildren, Tanner, Raegan and Aubrey; and, Ryan Kalasz. Wendell is also survived by brother, Luther Quale of Cannon Falls, MN; sister, Gloria (Ed) of Mankato, MN; Paul (Julie) Quale of Minnetonka, MN; and, many beloved nieces and nephews around southern Minnesota and beyond. A 1955 graduate of Cannon Falls HS, Wen studied Engineering at the University of Minnesota following high school. After working for Fabric Supply Company and Kurup Construction, he put his schooling and experience to work and started Valley View Associates, a company that designed, built and serviced swimming pools. Wen was passionate about his company and his customers. He highly valued the long-standing, personal and professional relationships he had with them. In Wendell's free time, his favorite activity was attending his grandchildren's, activities - sporting events, concerts - and spending time visiting and traveling with family. Wendell was a Master Mason and member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner; a member of the Sons Of Norway; and, a long-time member of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church. Our heartfelt thanks to the Our Lady of Peace hospice team for the loving and compassionate care you provided Wendell. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013, 11 am at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave S, Minneapolis, MN. Visitation prior to the service starting at 10 am. Internment will follow at Urland Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, MN. Memorials to Our Lady of Peace Hospice.

Class, Constance Marie
July 28, 1950 - September 11, 2013
Age 63 of New York, NY, formerly of St. Paul passed away on September 11, 2013 surrounded by many loved ones after a courageous 19 month battle with cancer. Connie was born in St. Paul on July 28th, 1950. She was the first child of Helen Hipp and Robert Class. A graduate of St. Joseph's Academy, she was a competitive speed skater, skier and runner, beautiful seamstress, forward thinking fashionista and the #1 hairdresser in the world. Ever proud of her Vidal Sassoon days, Connie had hundreds of loyal clients from St. Paul to New York. Born an audacious soul, she loved travel, great food, good conversation and being outdoors, especially at her beloved lake home in Wisconsin. Connie will be remembered for her quick wit, spirit of adventure, sense of style, and a tenaciousness that stayed with her until the end. She is survived by her devoted partner, George Leibson; parents Helen and Robert Class, siblings Mark Class, Nancy (Joe) Blumel, Annette (Eric) Ristau, Paula (Bob) Winsor, Rob (Katy) Class and Katie (Denny) Marquard, aunt Sr. Ann Hipp C.P.P.S ; many loving nieces and nephews; and many, many loyal friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Our Lady of Peace Hospice or Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, September 15, 3:00-6:00 pm. at 2102 James Ave. St. Paul, MN. A special thanks to the staff at Our Lady of Peace Hospice for their gentle, respectful care of Connie during her final days.

Age 58 of Golden Valley, originally of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2013 after a three-year struggle with cancer. She was born Oct. 14, 1954 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Emmert & Lois Norgaard. She was a kind and generous healer, cook and gardener. She cherished trips to the North Shore and was loved by many. Debbie is survived by her husband Joseph Schmidt; her children Jenny, Michaela, and Joseph Martel, of Minneapolis; her stepdaughter Katie Dille, granddaughters Liv Maki and Natali Hodge-Martel and step-grandchildren Truman, Minka and Alexander (Dille). Age 99, of St. Paul, originally of Dodgeville, WI, passed away Sept. 3, 2013 at Cerenity Marian Care Center in St. Paul, MN. She was born June 22, 1914 to Albert W. and Elizabeth Jane (Sims) Murrish, on a farm between Dodgeville and Mineral Point, WI. She was married on September 18, 1948, to Robert E. Emery who predeceased her in 2002. She is survived by two children, Richard (Bridget) Emery, Medicine Lake, MN and Mary (John) Shearen, White Bear Lake, MN, as well as three grandchildren, Chris (Sarah) Shearen, Mollie (Conor) Murphy, and William Shearen. She is also survived by a sister, Patricia Schleicher of Verona, WI, three great granddaughters, Rowan and Charlotte Murphy and Emery Shearen, several nieces, nephews and many friends. Two sisters predeceased her, Mary Jane Brewer in 1977 and Margaret Kinney in 2011. Elizabeth received a diploma in nursing from Madison General Hospital in Madison, WI in 1935. In the 1940's she was the tuberculosis nurse consultant for the State of Wisconsin. Elizabeth received a B.S. degree in nursing in 1943 and an M.S. in public health in 1973, both from the University of Minnesota and was a professor of nursing at the College of St. Benedict and Gustavus Adolphus College. She was a true, natural beauty, even at the age of 99 and was a loving, patient, kind and gentle wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, October 26 at St.John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church, White Bear Lake, MN, followed by a luncheon. Memorials preferred to the Bayfield Wisconsin Regional Conservancy or Cerenity Marian Care Center of St. Paul. We want to extend our deep gratitude to Cerenity Marian Care Center and staff for their exceptional, attentive, loving and respectful care of Dibity during the last 5+ years.

Jeff passed away while pursuing one of his favorite passions with friends. Our lives will not be the same without him. Age 82, was called home to the Lord on Friday, August 30, 2013. He was a Korean war vet and long time teamster of local 120. preceded in death by parents Emma & J. Elmer Johnson, sister Sybil Harmen and daughter Shirley. Survived by loving wife of 39 years, Mary Johnson and brother Meritt Johnson. Children: Jean (Pete), Len (Cindy), Rose, Robert, Rebecca (Dan) Rowe, Miranda Johnson, Patty, Lisa (David) Leonidas, Scott (Delisa) Johnson, Sherri Gallegos and Sandy (Steve) and 22 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Oakwood Church, 1388 Point Douglas Rd. S. St. Paul, MN 55119. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm at the church with private burial at Newport cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Woodlyn Heights for their loving care.

Age 66, of Forest Lake, MN. Our beloved brother Wayne passed away on August 30, 2013, surrounded in love by his dearest one, 'B', and his family. Born February 5, 1947, Wayne made Hugo, MN his lifelong home. Wayne was a proud Veteran, and retiree of the USPS- Mpls. preceded in death by his father, Walter, and sister, Melissa; Wayne will be dearly missed by the love of his life, 'B' (Le Huynh); his mother, Eleanor; 13 brothers and sisters, 43 nieces and nephews and their children; and many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life and luncheon will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 1:30 pm at the Hugo American Legion. A Burial Service will follow at 4:00 pm at the Hugo cemetery. Age 76, of Shakopee, MN, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Aug. 30, 2013. He will be missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Kathy; children, Kelly (Dwight) Poulton, Kalinda (Chuck) Smith, Kim (Ronnie) Hansen, Mike (Mary), Korin (Vince) Flores, and Matt (Rhonda); 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, sisters, and other loving family & friends. He was preceded by his parents and two sisters. Marvin served his country in the US Army from 1956-1959. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, all outdoor recreation, and bowling (even on the Nintendo Wii). Memorial Mass will be held on Tue., September 3, 10 AM with a gathering one hour prior all at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 350 South Atwood Street, Shakopee, MN 55379.

Age 87 of Maplewood, 25 year resident of Little Canada, passed away peacefully Aug. 28, 2013. She will be greatly missed by children Dick (Lynda) Halbert, Judith Baldwin, Nancy (Steve) Jackson, and Al (Maureen) Halbert; grandchildren Greg (Katie), Jeff, Jessica, Nikki (Hector), Heather, David, Angela; great-grandchildren Oren, Trace, Cole, Jairdan, Benjamin, Jack; brother John (Pat) Hestera, and many other loving relatives and friends. Helen was an active volunteer in her church, St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church, White Bear Lake. She also volunteered with Lakeshore Players of White Bear Lake and the Ladies of the Lake Quilting Society. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 10 am, with a Memorial Service at 11 am, followed by a reception in the parish hall at noon, all at St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church, 2175 1st St., White Bear Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. John in the Wilderness.

Timm, Wayne Everett

Age 69 of Morgan, MN. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church in Morgan. Visitation at the church will be held from 2 - 4 p.m. preceding the funeral service. A private burial will be held at a later time. Wayne Everett Timm, the son of Everett and Vernice (Leupke) Timm, was born November 26, 1943 in Springfield. He attended schools in Redwood Falls and graduated from Morgan High School. Wayne married Maxine Bloemke on May 2, 1965. They shared 46 years of marriage and were blessed with three children. Wayne held a variety of jobs with the longest being at Becker’s Super Valu as a produce manager and at Jackpot Junction as a blackjack dealer. He was also a member of the Morgan Fire and Ambulance Department and retired after 20 years of service. He and his family also spent much time working in the family lawn mowing business. Over the years, Wayne enjoyed camping trips with his family, attending local car races, playing cards, golfing at Mayflower Country Club near Fairfax, and building model train sets. He is survived by his children Pamela (Steven) Ardolf of St. Peter, John Timm of Morgan, and Jeffrey (Audra) Timm of Richfield; grandchildren Holly, Alex, Christina, and Jordan; and sister Carol Dittbenner of Morgan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, his parents, and two sisters in infancy.
