Age 62, died at his home in St. Paul, surrounded by his loving family on Feb. 17, 2016. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, Feb 24th, 2016 at Crossroads Church in Woodbury, MN. preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Jane Fredricksen, Bruce is survived by his wife Lynn, five children, Jeff (Lindsay), Dana, Alyssa Jelinek, Shannon (Seth Phillips) and Rick, brothers Scott (Ginger) of FL, Roy (Beth) of WI, life-long friend, Diane and many loving grandchildren. Bruce was a long time member of Union Local # 34 Heat & Frost Insulators. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother and good friend to all. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the ALS Assoc., MN/ND/SD chapter.

Jarvis, Bruno Jacob
January 23, 1917 - February 17, 2016
Age 99, of Golden Valley, passed away on February 17. preceded in death by parents, Jacob and Mary; 2 brothers and 2 sisters; and son, Roger. Survived by wife of 67 years, Fabiola; son, Ken; and nieces and nephews. Bruno grew up in Crosby, MN, graduated from the U of MN, and worked as a special agent for the US Treasury. He was active in Boy Scouts, both with the youth and with the Voyager District and Viking Council. Bruno enjoyed the outdoors - camping, hunting, and fishing, and later in life enjoyed ballroom dancing and visiting the casinos. Funeral Service Fri., Feb. 26 at 12pm at Lakewood cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Ave. S, MPLS. Visitation half hour prior at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Jarvis Charitable Trust.

Age 64 of West St. Paul, was called home on Feb. 25 after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by wife, Elizabeth; children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, and a host of other family and friends. Homecoming Celebration 2pm Saturday, March 5 at the Kings Crossing Community Room, 500 N. Dale St., St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

Wittman, Wayne C.
September 11, 1929 - February 24, 2016
Age 86, of St. Paul died unexpectedly on February 24, 2016. preceded in death by sister, Jeanne Christiansen; and granddaughter, Olivia. Survived by wife of 59 years, Joan; children, Bob (Nancy), Jeanne (Rich) Rothaupt, Mary Jo (Fernando) Partida, David (Cheryl), Susan (Dave) Mondry; grandchildren, Andrea, Lacy, Jenna, Michael, Kristin, Daniel, Luke, Grant, Allison, Tony; great-grandchildren, Callum, Grayson, Maya; sisters, Roberta (Harold) Nilles, and Verna (Jack) Nilles. Wayne was born in Humboldt, Iowa on September 11, 1929. At age 9, he lost his father due to an accident. He graduated from Humboldt HS and joined the US Navy during the Korean War. Upon his discharge, he went to Mankato State Teachers College where he graduated with a degree in political science. He later earned a Master's degree from the University of Minnesota in Counseling Psychology. He spent 37 years with the State of Minnesota as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for Services for the Blind and was a tireless advocate for persons with disabilities. He married Joan Spence in 1956, and raised their 5 children on the eastside of St. Paul. Wayne was both a man of faith and a lifelong community activist. He was an ordained Catholic Deacon and served at Sacred Heart Parish in St. Paul from 1984 until his death. His passion for social justice and world peace led him to Central and South America, where he took frequent trips to monitor free democratic elections and advocate for human rights. Wayne served on the St. Paul School Board and was a founding member and chair of the St. Paul Community Education Advisory Council. He was a respected leader for numerous local, state and national organizations including, but not limited to the DFL party, St. Paul Labor, Veterans for Peace, Labor's Community Services Committee, St. Paul's Police Civilian Review Commission and the United Way. Wayne's greatest passions included his love of family, his commitment to the labor movement and world peace. He held firm to his belief that one voice can make a difference. He was unapologetic and consistent to his causes, regardless of popular opinion. He touched many lives and made a true difference in his community. He will be greatly missed. Celebration of Life 4-7pm Sunday February 28 at the St. Paul Labor Federation Hall, 353 W 7th St., St. Paul (note corrected address from Friday's notice). Funeral Mass 10am Monday February 29 at Our Lady of the Presentation Chapel, 1884 Randolph Ave., St. Paul with visitation 1 hour prior and 9am. Interment at Ft. Snelling National cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Veterans for Peace-Chapter 27 or LSRC Wayne Wittman EA Fund.

Giesner, Christopher Garrett
February 16, 1972 - February 23, 2016
Age 44 of Hugo, passed away peacefully February 23rd 2016 after a 7 month battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Giesner. He is survived by his father, Deacon Frederick Giesner and step mother Mae Giesner, his brother Patrick, sister-in-law Pamela Giesner, his sisters Mary Babcock and Barb Olson and his six nieces and nephews. Chris attended high school at North High and earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Century College. He took great pride in his work and the many friendships he developed most recently at Water Gremlin, MagTek Inc. and Infinite Campus. Chris enjoyed fantasy football, was an avid golfer and owned the much coveted honor of scoring a hole in one on his home course at Oneka Ridge. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor should be sent to Our Lady of Peace Home, 2076 St. Anthony Ave St. Paul MN 55104. A celebration of Chris's life will continue on March 5th at 9am with Mass to follow at 10am as well as a luncheon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 14383 Forest Blvd N (Hwy 61) Hugo MN 55038.

Lokowich, John Francis
September 3, 1935 - February 22, 2016
Age 80 of Roseville. John passed away peacefully on February 22, 2016 surrounded by his family. preceded in death by parents Frank and Opal Lokowich, brother Jerry, sister Joan. Survived by wife Andrea "Andy" of 59 years and children, Mark (Mary), Kaye, Michael (Sharon), Ann (Dave), Paul (DeAnne) and Jane (Chris); 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. John was very active and an avid runner completing 15 marathons and many other races, his last being as recent as fall of 2015. John was also a proud Marine veteran. John loved to travel with Andy and especially spending time with family in their Vieques, Puerto Rico home in the winter. Visitation will be at 9:00am Tuesday March 1st prior to the Funeral Service at St. Rose of Lima in Roseville, MN. Luncheon to follow. Private interment at Fort Snelling. Memorials preferred.

Garth retired 18 years ago from Determan Welding and Tank Service. He enjoyed his home and family, his garden, the lake cottage, traveling to CA to see uncle Scotty & his family, & working on his car collection. A celebration of his life will be held at his home, anytime after 2 pm on April 2.

Age 49 of South St. Paul, MN passed away on March 8, 2016, as the result of a fatal asthma attack. preceded in death by mother, Marilyn "Micki"; brother-in-law, Tim Skwira; and niece, Jessica Skwira. Mike will be deeply missed by his wife, Michelle; daughters, Tiffany and Haleigh; granddaughters, Hannah, Tori, Father Ronald Boyden; Sister Shelly Skwira; brothers Randy Boyden (Kayla) and Ron Boyden (Nichole). Mike enjoyed spending his week-ends at the cabin fishing and when asked where he caught the fish he would always respond, "In the lake". His secret fishing spot will forever remain a secret. He was a firm believer if people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be an absence of fishing poles. He was a devoted father, husband, brother and friend. Mike's final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation, giving the gift of life so others may live. Celebration of Life 11 am on Saturday March 19 at Woodbury Lutheran Church, 7380 Afton Rd., Woodbury, MN 55125. Visitation 1 hour prior at 10 am. Lunch will be provided. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
