Beverly Campbell
July 9, 1939 - March 12, 2001

Place of Funeral: -- Bethany Good Samaritan Village Chapel -- March 15, 2001 2 PM

Beverly Campbell, age 61, of Brainerd, Minnesota formerly of Longville, Minnesota passed away March 12, 2001, after a battle with cancer, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Services will be Thursday March 15, 2001 at 2:00 PM at the Bethany Good Samaritan Village Chapel with Reverend Andrew Prin officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, March 15, 2001 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, also at the Bethany Good Samaritan Village Chapel 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd. Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.

Beverly Ann Campbell was born July 9, 1939 in Hopkins, Minnesota daughter of William and Lydia (Mazan) Kopesky. She graduated from Eden Prairie High School. She was united in marriage on July 9, 1977 to Elmer “Bud” Campbell at the Chippewa Lodge Resort on Leech Lake. Together they owned and operated Campbell’s Chippewa Lodge. She enjoyed painting, her grandchildren and gardening.

Beverly is survived by her husband “Bud”; son Douglas McDaniel of Aberdeen, SD; daughters Carla (Scott) Stall of Brainerd, Pamela (Russell) Bushman of Plymouth, Minnesota; her mother Lydia Kopesky of Hutchinson, Minnesota; brothers Duane Kopesky of Winsted, Minnesota, Bruce Kopesky of Hutchinson, Minnesota; sisters Donna Reese of Goodhue, Minnesota, Rodann Anderson of Backus, Minnesota and 6 grandchildren. Her daughter Deborah and her father preceded her in death.

Lois Marlene Gieseke Barnett

Lois Marlene Gieseke Barnett, 81 of Kilkenny, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Mala Strana Health Care in New Prague. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery with a service at 12:00 p.m. also at Schoenbauer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Kilkenny and a luncheon will be held at St. Canice Church hall in Kilkenny.

Lois was born on April 21, 1932 in Courtland to Emanuel and Eva (Schlottman) Gieseke. The family moved to Kilkenny Township in March of 1941. She attended Kilkenny school. She was united in marriage to William (Bill) Barnett of Kilkenny on July 9, 1958. She worked at various jobs throughout her life. Lois enjoyed family, gambling, singing and dancing.

Lois is survived by daughters, Kathy (Barnett) Malek of New Prague and Diane (Barnett) Turek of New Prague; daughter-in-law, Shelly (Tupa) Barnett of Kilkenny; 8 granchildren, 2 great-granchildren; brother, Norman Gieseke of Kilkenny, Gene (Barbara) Gieseke of Kilkenny; sister, Karen (Curt) Bosacker and Beverly (Gieseke) Staples of Kilkenny; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Emanuel and Eva Gieseke; sister, Muriel (Gieske) Johnson; brother, Harvey Gieseke; son Michael Barnett; and past husband, Bill Barnett.

Arrangements are with the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. 507-364-7929.

Rita M. Snorek

Rita M. Snorek, 78 of Montgomery, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Church in Shieldsville. Funeral services will be also on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. also at St. Patrick Church in Shieldsville. Burial will be at a later date.

Rita was born on July 18, 1935 to Frank A. and Anastasia (Landa) Turek in Montgomery. She was united in marriage to Robert Snorek at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery on January 27, 1953.

She worked Green Giant in Montgomery, MVE in New Prague, Viratec in Faribault and farmed along side of her husband for 50+ years. She enjoyed decorating cakes for all occasions, embroidery, needlework, gardening, farming, card playing, cooking, canning, baking and spending time with family.

Rita is survived by husband, Robert T. Snorek of Montgomery; children, Mary (Jerry) Jindra of Le Center, Linda (Ron) Lukes of Montgomery and Robert F. (Karen) Snorek of Montgomery; brother, Norman (Gladys) Turek of Montgomery; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister in infancy.

Arrangements are with the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. 507-364-7929.

Steven Joseph Wetzel

Steven Joseph Wetzel, age 64, of Le Center passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 due to complications of Alzheimer’s. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 4-7pm at the Le Center Funeral Home. Formal church service, burial, and celebration of life to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations that will be sent in to the Alzheimer’s Association in Steve’s honor.

Steve was born on April 28, 1956 to Chester and Annette (Lang) Wetzel and raised on their farm outside of Le Center. He graduated from Le Center High School in 1974 at which time he purchased the Standard Gas Station and was owner/operator for 29 years. Steve was united in marriage on September 3, 1983 to Kathy (Blaschko) at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Le Center. In 1998 he built a car wash, Wetzee’s Wash and Wax, where over the years it became his pride and joy greeting customers and providing a service for the community. Throughout Steve’s life he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing and riding Harley. His passion for life was expressed through his contagious laughter that will never be forgotten.

Steve is survived by his wife Kathy, of 37 years; children, Cody (Lynnea) Wetzel and their children Ava, Jaxson, and Shay; Ben (Abby) Wetzel and their child, Maeve; Jake Wetzel (Megan Kaisershot); siblings, Mike Wetzel, Chris Wetzel, and Lori O’Malley; mother-in-law, Patricia Blaschko; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Marie Wetzel in infancy; and father-in-law, Eugene Blaschko.

Arrangements are with the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center.

Gordon Wayne Ellanson, Jr.

Gordon Wayne Ellanson, Jr., 59, of Le Center, died January, 14, 2021, at his home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 19 from 4pm to 7pm at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center. Private Family Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 20 at 11am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. Interment will be held in Cordova Cemetery in Cordova.

Gordon was born on May 7, 1961 in Madelia to Gordon Wayne Sr. and Connie (Mickelson) Ellanson. He went to Le Center High School and worked for Le Sueur Inc. for 42 years.

Gordon enjoyed grilling and cooking, hunting, fishing, music, dancing, spending time with family and grandchildren, spending time up north, going to Canada, gardening, watching football, camping, floating down the river, and spending time with his woman!

Gordon is survived by his parents, Gordon Sr. (Connie) Ellanson of Le Center; wife, Nancy Ellanson of Le Center; children, Kayla (Jimmy) Claffey of Le Center, Stacy Mikel of Bowerville, Erica (Bryan) Dorenkamp of Rochester, and Jeff (Bernice) Finnesgard of Iwakuni, Japan; grandchildren, Harrison and Lennon Claffey, Alyson Dorenkamp, Zach and Adrian Finnesgard, Kearra, Isabelle, Chase, and Payton Mikel; siblings, Susan Olson of Le Center, Jesse (Linda) Ellanson of New Prague, Dawn (Dave) Weber of Le Sueur, Lisa (Phil) Simon of Le Center.

Gordon is preceded in death by grandparents, Palmer (Mary) Mickelson; uncle, Edward “Sonny” Mickelson; aunt, Lynn Morrow; niece, Crystal Jo Olson; and Gordon's dog.

Edward E. Holicky Jr.

Edward E. Holicky, Jr, age 97, of Montgomery passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at Traditions Assisted Living Facility in Montgomery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 9 from 10am to 11am at Most Holy Redeemer Church in Montgomery with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11am with Father George Grafsky officiating.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. Military Honors will be provided by the Montgomery area Honor Guard. Masks and social distancing must be maintained if in attendance. The family wants everyone to stay safe and recommends watching the service via the Schoenbauer Funeral home website under his obituary when available.

Edward Holicky was born on 16 March 1923, in Lexington Township, Minnesota, to Edward T and Helen (Benzick) Holicky. Edward’s early life was spent on the farm and he especially enjoyed riding horses and helping his dad. He attended school in Le Center through the eighth grade and then worked as mucker truck drive and carpenter helper. He later traveled to Mobile, AL where he worked for the War Department, United States Engineers office, as an assistant equipment inspector at the Tuskegee Army flying school-airport before being drafted in the Army. His first assignment was to Ft Meade, Maryland, guarding prisoners of war before being deployed to Italy where he served with the 5th Army. When he returned to the States, he married his longtime fiancé Catherine Genelin on 18 September 1945 at St Henry Catholic church. He was Honorably discharged from the Army in February of 1946 and settled in Montgomery. He worked several different jobs at the creamery and flour mill in Montgomery, he was a local Standard Oil bulk agent, a part owner of the Alba Bar in Montgomery, all before he settled into a career of road construction. Some of the construction jobs included work on I-494, I-94, state highway 60, Hennepin county road 10, Holman airport in St Paul, and the Prairie island Power Plant. He retired from construction in September of 1987. Edward enjoyed gardening, ice fishing, traveling, and helping his kids out with special projects. He enjoyed being with his family and always had a good story to tell. He donated his free time to helping at his local church and taking clothes up to Sharing and Caring Hands. He was an active member of the VFW (74 years), American Legion, and Honor Guard (72 Years), as well as the Knights of Columbus. He loved the town of Montgomery and often helped with setting up for the big Kolacky Day parades of years gone by.

Edward is survived by his children, Dan and Noriko Holicky of Lady Lake, FL, Karen and Dennis Dold of Summerfield, FL, Chuck and Cara Holicky of Frederic, WI, and Sandy Holicky of Grasonville, MD; Sister, Mary Catherine Holicky OSB, of St Joseph, MN and Ann and Mike Preble of Bloomington, MN; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Edward is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine (Genelin) Holicky in 2001; his parents, Edward T (1977) and Helen (Benzick-1979) Holicky of Montgomery; his sister, Ethel Genelin (2011) of Le Sueur.

We ask that friends and family please raise a glass or milkshake, share a good story, have some chocolate, reminisce, and/or write a letter to a Veteran in his honor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Holy Redeemer Catholic School here in Montgomery, Sharing and Caring Hands in Minneapolis or one of the many Veteran’s organizations.
