Mary Brey,90, of Wabasso, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at Wabasso Healthcare Center.
Services are 2 p.m., Saturday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Lucan, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the church with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and at the church Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
Kulow Funeral Service of Echo handled arrangements. She is survived by her children, Bernard and Theresa Brey of Minneapolis, Richard and Barbara Brey of Milroy, and RoseAnn and Kenneth Miller of Lucan; nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one great, great-grandchild, and one sister Susie and husband Clarence Petracek of Redwood Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Katherine; two brothers, Joseph and Michael.
She was born Nov. 3, 1909, in Granite Rock Township in Redwood County, to John and Anna (Schnobrich) Goblirsch. She attended the District 81 country school. She married Joseph Brey on May 9, 1933, in Lucan. They farmed in Granite Rock township until 1973 when they retired, and moved to Lucan. She entered the Wabasso Healthcare Center in June, 1995. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church Christian Mothers.

Wilma E. Christensen, 94, formerly of New Ulm died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000 at the Parkview Home in Belview.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral Home.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ruth Christensen of Dayville, Conn.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great- great-grandchildren; sisters in law, Myrtle Meierbachtol of Minneapolis, Alice Christensen of Wisconsin; brothers-in-law, Rolland and wife Peggy Christensen of LeSueur, Byron and wife Angie Christensen of Redwood Falls; and nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Levi Christensen on Nov. 28, 1980; son, Gerald Christensen on April 19, 1996; brothers, Ervin Henschke, and Edwin Henschke; and a sister, Adella Marquardt.
She was born on May 11, 1905, in Echo to Edward and Elsia (Wendt) Henschke. She married Levi Christensen on Feb. 24, 1927, at Peace Lutheran Parsonage in Echo. They farmed in rural Springfield. In 1936 they moved into New Ulm. She worked for ten years at the Union Hospital in New Ulm and for ten years at the Montgomery Ward Store in New Ulm. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm and Ladies Aid. She was a member of the New Ulm Senior Citizens.

Evelyn Bode, 85, of 314 N. Highland Ave., in New Ulm and formerly of Courtland, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000 at New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Services will be 11a.m. today at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Courtland Township, Nicollet County, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is one hour before services at the church. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm handled arrangements.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Galen and Sharon Bode of rural Sleepy Eye, Gary and Karen Bode of rural Courtland, and Lynn Bode of rural Nicollet; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Marlys and Alvin Anderson of Hanska; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Dallmann of Nicollet, and Lila Bode, a resident of the Grandview Good Samaritan Care Center in St. Peter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis Bode on Sept. 13, 1996.
She was born May 26, 1914 in Milford Township, Brown County, to Ernest and Alma (Kness) Rolloff. She attended country school. She married Louis Bode on May 3, 1937, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. They farmed in Nicollet Township for two years, in Milford Township, Brown County for three years, and then moved back to farm in Nicollet Township, Nicollet County, until retiring in 1977. They moved into New Ulm in 1978. She bowled for the Senior Citizen Club. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland, and a member of the Dorcas Society.

Leora Schultz, 95, of Springfield, died Thursday at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
A service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Springfield with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by her sisters, Viola Rubitschung of Springfield, Blanche Schultz of McAllen, Texas and twin sister, Leila Kurtz of Redwood Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herb in 1974; and sister, DeLoris Schultz in 1999.
She was born Sept. 2, 1904 in Sundown Township, Redwood County, to Peter and Helga (Madsen) Frederickson. She attended rural school and Morgan High School.She completed teacher's training in 1922 in Sleepy Eye. She taught in rural schools in Redwood County for 10 years. She married Herbert Schultz July 15, 1932, at Brookville Lutheran Church. They lived in Springfield. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Springfield, and an honorary member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She was past president and board member of the Springfield Gun Club, and a past member of several local organizations.

Otto 'Scotty' Koch, 64, rural Hanska, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at his home.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church with burial at a later date.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church. Firle Funeral Home of Hanska is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Debra of Hanska; son, Mark Wierschke and his wife Mona of Chico, Calif.; brothers, Charles and his wife Mary Koch of New Ulm, Bill and his wife Pat Koch of Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters, Clarice Blaido of Cottage Grove, Rose Goodman of Cleveland, Ohio, Janice Dillig and her husband Ron of Milwaukee, Wis., Karen Schultz of Watertown, Wis; mother-in-law, Delores Bentdahl of Hanska; brother-in-law, Marlow Bentdahl and his wife Sue of Sheboygan, Wis.; sisters-in-law, Deanna Mohr and her husband Pat of Hanska, Sherraye Lindstrom and her husband Dave of Bloomington, Bonnie Gasper and her husband Tom of Eden Prairie, Liz Stahl and her husband Tim of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marlene Rose and Muriel Luepke; father-in-law, Orlando Bentdahl; and brother-in-law,Robert Schultz.
He was born Dec. 9, 1935, in New Ulm to Otto and Norma (Craven) Koch, Sr. He attended Catholic schools in New Ulm. He entered the United States Army in 1954. While in the military, he received his GED. Following his discharge in 1957. He traveled the country and worldwide as a rodeo clown/bull fighter. He married Debra Bentdahl on Jan. 10, 1981, in Cleveland, Minn. They lived in Elysian and Faribault, before moving to Lake Hanska Township in 1986. In 1983, he obtained a degree in computer programming from Mankato Technical College. He was also a master plumber and did carpentry work. He was a member of Lake Hanska Lutheran Church. He was member and honorary member of the New Ulm Battery and the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association. He coached Hanska youth T-ball. He a Santa's Helper for many years.

Rose Heil, 91, of Hector, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at Buffalo Lake Health Care Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church, Hector, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday at Hughes Funeral Home, Hector. Parish prayer service will be 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
She is survived by sisters, Florence Heil of Hutchinson, Leona Laffen of Underwood, and Marie McCarthy of Riverside, Calif.; brother, Philip and wife Dorothy of Alexandria; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother Robert.
She was born June 15, 1908, in Mankato, to Joseph and Flora Heil. She grew up in Mankato, where she lived until moving to Hector. She attended the Bird Island Parochial School. She worked at Ginsburg's Grocery Store.

Gertrude B. Donahue, 76, of Mankato, died Jan. 16, 2000.
Funeral services were held Jan. 20 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.
She is survived by sons, Greg and wife Marilyne of Clarks Grove, and Timothy of Minneapolis; daughter, Lisa Donahue and husband Jeff Gay of Minneapolis; granddaughter, Zoe; brother, Alex and wife Agnes Guggisberg of Gibbon; sisters, Bernice Pfeffer of Fairfax, Sally Warner and husband Lloyd of Queensland, Australia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and one sister.
She was born to William and Rose (Hillesheim) Guggisberg on March 29, 1923 in Bismarck Township, Sibley County. She graduated from Gibbon High School. In 1948, she married Donald Donahue at St. Willibrord's Catholic Church in Gibbon. They moved to Mankato where she worked as a secretary for the Gamble-Robinson Store and at Minnegasco Natural Gas Company. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

William "Bill" H. Runck, 87, of Springfield, died Friday at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
A service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church with interment at North Star E.U.B. Cemetery in Springfield.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. It will also continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Bill is survived by his wife, Alice Runck of Springfield; children, Lois L. and husband Ted Schoonover of Farmington, Charles W. and wife Katherine Runck of New Ulm, Jean E. and husband Fred Reiter of Alexandria, and William "Bill" J. and wife Dianne Runck of New Prague; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Carl Runck.
Bill was born March 2, 1912 in Springfield to William F. and Lena (Hansin) Runck. He grew up and attended school in Springfield, graduating from high school in 1932. He attended business school in Minneapolis for two years before returning to Springfield to work with his father and brother at Runck Hardware and Implement. He married Alice Fonken June 10, 1936 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Springfield. Bill purchased his brother's interest in the business in 1962 and continued to run it until retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir and was a past president of the church board. Bill was also a member of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce and the Minnesota Hardware Retailers Association. He was a very musical person and had played the c-clarinet and alto-saxophone in the Springfield Orpheous Band, and other small bands in the area.

Emma Vogel, 99, of 300 North Broadway, the Broadway Haus in New Ulm died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesdayat St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with burial in the City Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and then for one hour prior to time of service at the church on Tuesday.
Emma is survived by sons, Dennis Vogel of rural New Ulm and Wilfred Vogel of rural Wood Lake; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rudolf Vogel, in 1951; a son, Vernon Vogel, in 1970; five brothers; two sisters; and three daughters-in-law.
She was born July 12, 1900 in Home Township, Brown County, rural Sleepy Eye to George and Hulda (Kieper) Weilage. She attended St. John's Lutheran School in Sleepy Eye. On Jan. 29, 1920 she married Rudolf Vogel at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. After marriage they lived in Minneapolis for nine months before moving back to the family farm in Milford Township, Brown County. She farmed the Vogel family farm with her husband up until his death and then for several years after his death she farmed the land with her son, Dennis. In 1970 she moved into New Ulm and then to the Broadway Haus Apartments in 1980 where she lived until becoming a resident of the Oak Hills Living Center in October of 1999. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Essig until it closed and then she became a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Sara S. Lindeman, 92, of Redwood Falls, died Thursday at the Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls. Burial will follow at the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Sara is survived by her children, Myron Lindeman and wife Marilyn of Redwood Falls, Gary Lindeman and wife Cheryl of Milbank, S.D., and Carla Tiling and husband Robert of Manilla, The Phillipines; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Reuben Rieke and wife Caroline of Fairfax.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bonnie; son, Noel in 1977; two brothers, Delmer and Ervin; and sister, Edna.
Sara was born Jan. 3, 1908 in Cairo Township, Renville County to Herman H. and Annie (Gluth) Rieke. She grew up in south Renville County, attending country school in Cairo Township and graduating from Fairfax High School in 1926. As a young lady, she continued to live at home. Sara married Bonnie L. Lindeman Feb. 29, 1940 at the Methodist Parsonage in Fairfax. They farmed in Beaver Falls Township, Renville County until 1978. Then, they left the farm to make their home in Redwood Falls. Bonnie died Dec. 25, 1991. Since suffering a stroke in 1996, Sara had been a resident at Wood Dale Nursing Home. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Union Home Mission and the Rebekah Lodge.

Clella Brown, 93, of New Ulm, died Sunday at the New Ulm Medical Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Oakwood United Methodist Church in New Ulm with burial to follow in the Fort Ridgely Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her sons, David Brown and wife Judy of Phoenix, Ariz., Frederic Brown and wife Jeannette of Darwin, George Brown and wife Donna of Irvine, Calif., William Brown and wife Mary of New Ulm; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Grace Kimes of Sun City, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Robert; and several brothers and sisters.
Clella Victoria Rieke, the daughter of William and Imogene (Coffey) Rieke, was born Oct. 14, 1906 in Franklin. She attended Franklin High School and was named Valedictorian of her graduating class. After high school she trained in nursing in Mankato. Clella married Alby Brown March 14, 1931 in Mankato. Together, they farmed in Camp Township, Renville County for many years. After retiring from farming in 1965, they continued to make their home on the farm until moving to New Ulm in 1982. Following her husband's death in 1988, she continued to make her home in New Ulm. She was a member of the Oakwood United Methodist Church.

Eva May Rentz, 62, of Mountain Lake, died Saturday at Windom Area Hospital in Windom.
A service will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Augustana Lutheran Church with interment at Mount Hope Cemetery in St. James.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Sturm Funeral Home in St. James.
Eva is survived by daughters, Paula Pieper and husband Lyle of Le Center, Pat Rentz of Le Center, and Beth Rentz of Windom; a son, Mark Rentz and wife Julie of St. James; seven grandchildren; sister, Janet Plath and husband Bob of St. James; a brother, John Larson and wife Sherry of Fairmont; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and sisters, Ella Shellum, Mary Rohmsdahl and Margie Larson.
She was born May 22, 1937 to John and Minnie (Carlson) Larson in Ormsby. She received her education at District 56 country school near Ormsby and graduated from St. James High School in 1955. Eva married Robert Reinhold Rentz at Augustana Lutheran Church in St. James. They made their home in the St. James area. Eva worked as a waitress, did daycare and home health care, and also worked at Tony Downs Food. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran, where she taught Sunday school. Eva was a Den Mother for Troup No. 96. She lived at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake for the past two years.
