Elizabeth Neudecker, 94, of Redwood Falls, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church in Morton with burial in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Clements.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and one hour prior to services on Friday.
She is survived by her son, Paul Neudecker and wife JoAnn of Morton; granddaughter Shelly Curtis and husband Jason of Jordan; sisters, Mary Schilling of Mankato, Esther Cadwallader and husband Doug of Redwood Falls; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceeded in death by her husband, Aloy; sisters, Margaret Zins, Ann Turbes, Susan Turbes; brothers, John Schilling and Josie Schilling.
She was born on June 1, 1907, in Hospers, Iowa, to Joseph and Margret (Pohlen) Schilling. She attended school in Hospers untill the family moved to Minnesota, where she attended school in Wanda. She maried Aloy Neudecker on Nov. 27, 1945. They farmed near Clements until retiring to Morton in 1987. Aloy died July 24, 1996. She moved to Wood Dale Nursing Home in 1997. She was a member of the St. John's Altar Society, the Forresters of Wanda and Christian Mothers of Clements.

Elmo B. Bowman, 82, of Comfrey, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, in Bashaw Township, Brown County.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at New Hope Lutheran Church, Comfrey, with burial in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Comfrey. Military rites will be conducted by the Comfrey American Legion Post.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Comfrey., and at the church Monday one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by sisters, Mae Schwab of Sleepy Eye and Amy Bowman of Mankato; brothers, James and wife Carol Bowman of Brooklyn Center, and Floyd Bowman of Comfrey, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Fred.
He was born March 5, 1919, in Bashaw Township, Brown County, to Elmer and Alma (Rapp) Bowman. He atttended District 59 country school. Elmer served in the U.S. Army/Air Force from May 1942 until his discharge in December 1946, working as a mechanic in Texas and California. He returned to farm on the home place with his brother Floyd until his retirement in 1993. He was a long-time member of Albin Johnson American Legion Post 244 of Comfrey and was a lifetime member of New Hope Lutheran Church, formerly Faith Lutheran Church, Comfrey.

Dennis C. Johnson, of Burnsville, died Saturday, July 14, 2001, in Savanna, Ill.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Gibbon.
Parents are Wallace and Rhoda Johnson of Redwood Falls. He graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1969.

Arlene H. Jorve, 74, of Sleepy Eye, formerly of Halstad, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Gil-Mor Manor Nursing Home in Morgan.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye, with memorial service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Halstad Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Halstad City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, and at Trinity Lutheran Church Monday one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by sisters, Hjordis Skugrud of Rothsay, and Alda Rydin of Sleepy Eye; nine nieces and nephews, 18 great nephews and great nieces, and a special cousin, Joy Toso of Rothsay.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred, in 1931; her mother, Hazel in 1993; brothers, Donald in 1944 and Robert in 1993; brothers-in-lawErling Skogrud in 1992 and John Rydin in 1999, and a nephew, John Skogrud in 1996.
She was born Oct. 29, 1926, in Halstad to Alfred and Hazel (Hammer) Jorve. She was baptized and confirmed at Halstad Lutheran Church. She attended the Halstad Public School.
Arlene lived with her her mother and in later years helped take care of her mother and her brother. Arlene did child care for several years while in Halstad. She moved to Sleepy Eye in November 1993 to live with her sister, Alda. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, WELCA, and the Quilting Group. She was a past member of Halstad Lutehran Church and the Halstad American Legion Auxiliary, where she was an active member for many years.

Jamie Hansen, 22, of Morgan, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Monday, at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.
She is survied by her parents, Richard "Dick" and Cheryl Hansen, brother and sister-in-law, Shane and Michele of Columbia, S.C., and sisters and brothers-in-law, Pam and Glenn Stouffer of Belview, Stacey and Corey Reding of Morgan, Shannon Hansen of Morton, Rachelle Hansen of Willmar and Kari Hansen of New Hope; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was bron on Jan. 15, 1979 in Redwood Falls,to Richard and Cheryl (Eischens) Hansen. She lived with her family in Belview and Mesa, Ariz., before moving to Morgan, where she graduated from Morgan High School in 1998. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Morgan.

Adeline Gladue, 73, Detroit Lakes, died Friday, July 20, 2001 at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.
Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 10:30 am Monday, July 23, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today, with a vigil service at 7 p.m., at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, and at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the funeral service.
She is survived by sons: Aloysius Kunz, Ambrose Kunz, Paul Kunz and his wife Laura, and Francis "Fritz" Kunz, all of Detroit Lakes, Raymond Kunz and his wife Sue of Frazee; daughters: Barbara Gunderson and her husband Gary, Darlene Krause, Rita DeGroat and her husband Verlyn, all of Detroit Lakes, Patricia Thorson and her husband Dennis of Ryegate, Mont., and Mary Kunz of Frazee; brothers: Raymond Braun of Detroit Lakes, Charles Brown and his wife Marjean of Mantorville and August Braun Jr. and his wife Cleo of Rochester; a sister, Felicia Mohn of Detroit Lakes; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward in 1994; sons, Randy and Richard Kunz, daughters, Beatrice Beyer and Maria Kunz; a son-in-law, Roger Beyer; two grandchildren, and a brother, Art Braun.
Adeline Mathilda Braun was born Nov. 1, 1927 to August and Mathilda (MiedI) Braun in Sleepy Eye. As a young girl she moved to Callaway, where she attended school. On April 3, 1945 she married Edward Kunz in Callaway. Following marriage they lived in Callaway and Mahnomen. In 1952 they moved to Detroit Lakes where she worked as a cook for the Erie 34 Club, Eric Junior, Fireside, Bunnell's Edgewater, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. She has been a resident of Emmanuel Nursing Home for the past two years.
She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its Ladies Aid and was active in the Detroit Lakes VFW Auxiliary.

Cora A. Lemberg, 92, of LeSueur, formerly of Arlington, died Thursday, July 18, 2001, at Gardenview Nursing Home in LeSueur.
Services will be 4 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, LeSueur, with burial in the Gaylord Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Monday at the church. Fenske Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Louise Reilly-Bauleke and Sheldon Bauleke of Elysian; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest Lemberg in April 1984; a brother, Ralph Warnke, a granddaughter, Kari Reilly, and a son-in-law, John Reilly.
She was born Oct. 8, 1908, in Gaylord to Herman and Clara (Mauer) Warnke. She graduated from Gaylord High School and worked at the Sibley County Courthouse until she married Ernest Lemberg on Dec. 17, 1938 in Gaylord. They moved to Arlington, where they owned and operated the Arlington Bakery for 30 years. When they retired they moved to Grey Eagle. When Ernest died Cora lived in Elysian. Waterville and LeCenter before moving to Gardenview Nursing Home in LeSueur in February. While in Arlington, she was a member of the Arlington Hospital Auxiliary.

James Palmer, 71, of Fairfax, died Friday, July 20, 2001, at his rural Fairfax home.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax. Burial will be in the St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery in Cairo Township.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax and will continue on Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Hauser-Hantge Funeral Home in Fairfax is handling arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Ettie Palmer of Fairfax; sons, Steve Palmer and his wife, Tracie of Fairfax, Tom Palmer and his wife, Denise of Fairfax, Mike Palmer and his wife, Jolene of Fairfax, Dan Palmer and his wife, Janelle, of Fairfax; a daughter, Mary O'Keefe and her husband, Kevin of Coon Rapids; step-children, Dallas Wiethoff of Japan, Kent Wiethoff and his wife, Brenda of Fairfax, Dixie Kodet and her husband, Mark of Fairfax; 16 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; sisters, Audrey Kiecker and her husband, Stan of Post Falls, Idaho, Grace Steffl and her husband, Leo of Sleepy Eye, Margery Schmidt and her husband, Dick of Maplewood, Mildred Volk and her husband, Ed of Burnsville; a brother, John Palmer and his wife, Elaine of Fairfax; and many other relatives, in-laws, and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Gertrude Palmer; his first wife, Bernice Palmer; sons, Douglas Palmer and Patrick Palmer; and a sister, Mary Palmer.
James Harold Palmer was born Sept. 6, 1929, in New Ulm to Harold and Gertrude (Wendinger) Palmer. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax. He attended St. Andrew's Catholic Grade School and graduated from the University of Minnesota Agricultural School.
On June 16, 1953, James married Bernice Dummer in St. George. James was a lifelong farmer. James and Bernice were married 31 years before Bernice died on July 23, 1984.
James married Ettie Wiethoff on Sept. 17, 1991, at the River Valley Christian Church in New Ulm.
James was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
James was one of the early patients of Sister Kinney Institute when he had polio at the age of 13 years. He was diagnosed with Melanoma skin cancer in February 1993.

Vita L. Schmidt, 83, of Sleepy Eye, died Friday, July 20, 2001, at her home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Sleepy Eye.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Sturm Funeral Home.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary and husband Jim Sommerfeld of Sleepy Eye, and Joann Schmidt of Sleepy Eye; sons, Jim and wife LuAnn Schmidt of Burnsville, and Chuck and wife Mary Schmidt of Lakeville; five grandchildren; a sister, Flavia and husband Dennis Larson of Sleepy Eye, and a brother, Medard Bertrand of Kansas City, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Vita was born May 3, 1918 in Sleepy Eye to Lucian J. and Ann (Schueller) Bertrand. She grew up in Sleepy Eye, attending and graduating from St. Mary's High School in 1938. On July 14, 1945, she married Ervin (Bud) Schmidt in Sleepy Eye. Vita was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a member of the C.C.W., Christian Mothers Society and the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. Vita and Bud owned and operated the Sleepy Eye Tile Yard, in which Vita was very supportive. She was one of the early women's semi truck drivers. For a period of time Vita worked at 3M in New Ulm, retiring from there in 1983.

Maxine R. Day, 91, of Lake City, died Friday, July 20, 2001, at the Lake City Nursing Home-Mayo Health System.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Mahn Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel, Lake City, with burial at 3 p.m. in at the Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
She is survived by a son, Fred and wife Karen Day of Lake City; three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband aone a sister, Marion Schneider.
She was born May 24, 1910, in Denver, Colo., to Helmuth and Mae (Fields) Seewald. The family later moved to St. Clair, Minn. She graduated from St. Clair High School and attended Mankato Business College.
She married Allyn H. Day on March 6, 1937, in St. Clair. After their marriage they lived in many different towns in the Midwest due to Allyn's job with the railroad.
Allyn died in October 1987, and Maxine moved to Lake City in August 2000. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Alice M. Heckler, 96, Morgan died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at Gil-Mor Manor.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, at United Methodist Church in Morgan with burial in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Nelson-Martin Funeral Horne in Morgan and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
She is survived by her son, James Heckler; brother and sister-in-law, Clayton and Dorothy Gluth, all of Morgan; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Heckler in 1937; and her sister, Lilas Gluth in 1985.
She was born Sept. 18, 1904, in Eden Township, Brown County, Minnesota to Ferd and Lenora (Pretzer) Gluth. She attended District 35 in Eden Township. She married John L. Heckler at the Methodist Church in Eden Township on Feb. 14, 1934. He died in 1937. She continued to live in Eden Township until 1945 when she moved to Morgan. She was a homemaker and worked on the farm. She did restaurant work and was a janitor at the Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Morgan, the Ladies Aid, and the Morgan Ladies Extension Club.

Lyle L. Kleist, 70, of Arlington, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Arlington, with burial at Arlington Public Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church.
Fenske Funeral Home of Arlington is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by his son, Bruce Kleist of St. Louis Park; daughters and son-in-law, Dawn and Maury Gliesen of Henderson, and Jayne Kleist of Arlington; grandsons, Caleb and Lucas Giesen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Geraldine of Richfield, Dale and Linda of Arlington, and Mavis Kleist of Richfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Kleist; and brother, Kenneth Kleist.
He was born on May 27, 1931, in Arlington, to Albert and Verna (Kamps) Kleist. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran School. He married Mary Ann Fries on May 4, 1957, in Fulda. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was discharged in August 1960 with the rank of Corporal (E-4). He worked in production at Bongards Creameries. He retired in 1993. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Arlington and St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Milton Almer, 80, of Springfield died July 23, 2001, at St. John Lutheran Home, Springfield.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Springfield with burial in the city cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield; and continues one hour before the service Friday at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Almer of Springfield; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Tim Knutson of Mastic, N.Y.; sons, Michael and wife Linda Almer of Valley Center, Calif., Jerry Almer of New. Ulm; sisters, June Little of Poplar, Wis. and Donna end husband, Jim Bernard of Las Vegas, Nev.; half-brother, Tanden Almer of Maryland; and aunt Gladys Stronac of Duluth; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded In death by his parents; sister, Bette Almer; and a half brother.
He was born Dec. 18, 1920, in Superior. Wis., to Milton and Alyce (Moulten) Almer. He attended schools in Superior, Minneapolis and graduated from high school in Washington, D.C. He served in the National Guard from 1941-1945. He moved to California and worked in the Immigration office. In 1956 he moved to Minneapolis. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1969. On Sept. 24, 1962, he married Dorothy Schiller at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. They retired to Springfield in 1969.

Riley Zins, infant son of Dan and Barb (Hitchcock) Zins of New Ulm died July, 24, 2001 at the New Ulm Medical Center..
A private family service will be held at the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his parents, Dan and Barb (Hitchcock) Zins of New Ulm; grandparents, Howard and Colleen Zins of rural New Ulm, Barney Hitchcock of Sherburn, and Dani Hitchcock of Tucson, Ariz.; great-grandmother, Peggy Rogness of Tucson, Ariz.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents and his maternal great-grandfather.

Beulah Reid, 87, of Gaylord, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at Gaylord Lakeview Home.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Norseland Lutheran Church, rural St. Peter, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord, and one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Sandy of Gaylord, Richard and Janice of St. Peter, Ronald and Cindy of LeSueur; sister, Betty Juberian of Apple Valley; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1973; and brother, Vince Giddings.
She was born March 3, 1914, in Humboldt, Iowa, to Harry and Minnie (Anderson) Giddings. She married Joseph Reid on Oct. 24, 1944, in St. Peter. At age nine, she moved with her parents to a farm near Middle Lake, west of St. Peter. She attended rural school and St. Peter High School. She worked at home and at various jobs until she was married. The couple farmed in Granby Township, Nicollet County. They moved to a farm near Norseland in 1953 and to Gaylord in 1971. She worked at Fingerhut in Gaylord and for Hands Inc. in Winthrop. She belonged to Norseland Lutheran Church. She did volunteer work at the Gaylord Hospital Auxiliary and the Treasure Haus in New Ulm.
