Frieda I. Klockmann, 81, of Winthrop, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop, with burial in the Winthrop Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop. Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin, of Winthrop; sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin "Mel," of Hutchinson, Karl and Betty of Winthrop, and Dale and Lori of Winthrop; daughter and son-in-law, Lyna and James Lott of Winthrop; daughter-in-law, Susan Alsleben and her husband Glen of Brownton; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Otto and Clara Trebelhorn of Eau Claire, Wis., Henry and Ruth Trebelhorn of Richfield, and Robert E. and Delores Trebelhorn of Winthrop; sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and Gerald Neubarth, of Winthrop, sisters-in-law, Erna Trebelhorn, of Northfield, Esther Trebelhorn, of Winthrop, and Minnie Trebelhorn, of Winthrop; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Martin Sr., on June 13, 1982; parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alexander and Dorothy Trebelhorn, and Edward and Elsie Trebelhorn; brothers, Benjamin, Lennard and John Trebelhorn; and sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Edwin Bern.
She was born Jan. 12, 1920, in Noonan, N.D., to Philip and Anna Marie (Rohrig) Trebelhorn. She attended school in North Dakota. At the age of eight, she and her family moved to Winthrop, where she continued her education. She married Melvin Klockmann on Jan. 10, 1943, at Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop. They farmed in Alfsborg Township, Sibley County. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop. She was a member of the Ladies Guild and served in various offices. She was a Sunday school teacher for 26 years and on the education board for many years.

Vernon 'Vern' Hale, 91, of Morton, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Sunwood Good Samaritan Center in Redwood Falls.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Morton, with burial with full military honors in the Morton City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Reginald and Audrey of Alexandria and Palsy and Marvin Breitkreutz of Renville; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
He was born June 11, 1910, in Morton, to Harry and Carrie (Zumwinkle) Hale. He lived in Morton until 1915 and attended Beaver Falls District 5 country schools. He moved to Long Fork, Mont., for a few years before returning back to the area. He married Bernice Smith on March 6, 1930, in Redwood Falls. They lived in Beaver Falls for a year until moving to rural Morton where they lived until 1937, and then into Morton, living there until 1942. He lived in Redwood Falls from 1945 until 1957 when he moved to rural Morton. He married Norella C. Olson on March 24, 1957, in Sleepy Eye. She died on Nov. 14, 1992. He was a mechanic for the Redwood Falls Motor Company for 28 years retiring in 1973. He served in the Army as a Corporal T5 from May 1942 until Nov. 5, 1945. He was a friend of the United Methodist Church in Morton and belonged to the American Legion Post 0344 of Morton since 1945.

Chester Addison, 84, died Nov. 12, 2001, at Tracy Hospital in Tracy.
Services are 12:30 p.m. today at English Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Ilamay of Walnut Grove; sister-in-law, Mae Radtke of Tracy; brother-in-law, Llewellyn and wife Doris Kosel of Sanborn; sister-in-law, Helen-Jeanne and husband Don Anderson of Spencer, Iowa; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren,
He is preceded in death his parents, uncle L.O. and daughter Renee Louise.
He was born on May 20, 1917, to Ervin and Lucy (Wiggins) Addison in northern Hero Township near Walnut Grove. He attended school in districts 19 and 116. He farmed with his father until he married Ilamay Radtke on Sept. 18, 1940. They farmed until retirement in 1979 and moved to Walnut Grove in 1984. He worked at the Walnut Grove Sales Pavilion. He was a member of English Lutheran Church Board. He served on the North Hero School Board.

Francis M. Soukup, 76, of Sleepy Eye, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with burial with military rites by the Sleepy Eye Honor Guard in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday and 7:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.
He is survived by his wife, Delores; son, Patrick Soukup, of Sleepy Eye; brother, Clarence Soukup of Sleepy Eye; sisters, Evelyn Zenk of Bird Island and Verna Scharfencamp of Franklin; sister-in-law and husband, Leona and Don Allen of Whittier, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wendelin; sister, Irene; sister-in-law, Myra Soukup; and brothers-in-law, Paul Scharfencamp and Sylvester Zenk.
He was born March 14, 1925, in Home Township, Brown County, to Michael and Bertha (Kachelmaier) Soukup. He attended country school in Home Township and St. Mary's School in Sleepy Eye. After serving in the U.S. Navy in 1944-46, he returned to Sleepy Eye where he operated a livestock trucking business. He married Delores Kuebler on Oct. 22, 1949, in Sleepy Eye. They farmed north of Sleepy Eye until 1995 when they retired and moved to Sleepy Eye. He also drove truck for Del Monte. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Order of Foresters. He was active in the Sleepy Eye Honor Guard, VFW and American Legion.

Darrell Rhubee, 66, of Jeffers, died Nov. 12, 2001, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Jeffers, with burial at Jeffers Cemetery.
Visitation is 4 - 7 p.m. today at Anderson-Schmidt Funeral Home in Jeffers, and 9-10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Anita, of Jeffers; children and their spouses, Bruce and Jan Rhubee, of Jeffers, Dixie and Steve Severson, of Westbrook, Michael Rhubee, of Minneapolis, Todd and Wendy Rhubee, of Windom and Kyle Rhubee, of New Ulm; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was born May 13, 1935, in King Township, Winnebago County, Iowa, to Kenneth and Charlotte (Awe) Rhubee. He served in the Air Force in England from June 1952 to August of 1956. He earned the rank of Airman First Class and worked in fire, crash and rescue work. He married Anita Oleson on Nov. 2, 1953, in England. After his discharge, they returned to the Jeffers area where he worked on a farm with his father at the Jeffers Elevator. In 1964, they moved to Whittemore, Iowa, where he worked as a veterinarian assistant. In 1969, they moved back to the home farm in Jeffers where he also worked as a salesman. He was a cartoonist with syndicated with the Mark Times Syndicate of Denver.

Esther E. Bauer, 91, of Arlington, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Arlington Good Samaritan Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington, with burial at the Arlington Public Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington and one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Harry Jr. and Lucille, of Winthrop, and Kenneth and Jane, of Glencoe; daughters and son-in-law, Marjorie and Tony Kloeckl, of Arlington, and Arline Blood, of San Diego, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, William and Edna, and Joyce Bauer, all of Gaylord.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry, on Nov. 29, 1984; brother, Harvey; and sister, Fern Franke.
She was born on Feb. 19, 1911, in Sibley Township, Sibley County, to John and Enna (Mathwich) Hoecke. She attended rural school in Gaylord. She married Harry H. Bauer Sr. on Sept. 21, 1932, at Good Thunder. They farmed east of Gaylord. She was an active adult leader of the Good Cheer 4-H Club. In 1948 the Bauers moved to a farm east of Winthrop and continued farming until 1956 when they moved to Winthrop. She worked as a cook in the Winthrop School for 13 years and also at Green Giant Factory. In 1969 the Bauers moved to Plato. She worked at Eischen's Bakery and the Green Giant Factory in Glencoe. In 1981 the Bauers moved to Arlington. She worked at Big Stone Canning Company. She was an active member of the Golden Age Senior Citizens Group and the Arlington Good Samaritan Center Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Rebeccah Circle at Zion Lutheran Church and served as deacon for several years. She did volunteer work to assist residents of High Island Creek Residence. She became a resident of the Arlington Good Samaritan Center in October.

Anna Juella Haugen Joramo, 84, formerly of Hanska, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at the Parkview Care Center in Buffalo.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Nora Unitarian-Universalist Church in rural Hanska, with a family burial in the Mount Pisquah Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Marlys of Monticello; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Claire Joramo of Hanska and Gordon Joramo of Madelia; sisters-in-law, Gladys Kjelshus and Stella Pizel of Madelia; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, on Feb. 22, 1976; her father, Iver, in 1964; and her mother, Karen, in 1988.
She was born on May 12, 1917, in Hanska, to Karen Hesjesveen Sveen Haugen and Iver E. Haugen. She graduated from Hanska High School in 1935. She married Roy Joramo on Aug. 30, 1940, in the Nora Unitarian-Universalist Church. She worked at the Droen Pharmacy in Hanska for 13 years; for Dr. 0. B. Fesenmaier and Dr. E. E. Ulvestad in Hanska for 13 years; and at 3M Company in New Ulm for 13 years, retiring in 1980.
She was a lifetime member of the Nora Unitarian-Universalist Church and a member of the Nora Women's Society, where she held many offices. She was a member of the Sons of Norway, where she was historian for 19 years and held many offices. She was a 52-year member of the Oscar O. Haugen Unit 365 of the American Legion Auxiliary, served as president four times, and held many local and district offices. She was a member of the Over-Sixty Club in Hanska, served as president and held many leadership offices. She moved to the Buffalo area about a year ago to be closer to her immediate family.

Ray L. Hippert, 85, of Waconia, formerly of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and New Ulm, died Nov. 15, 2001, at Auburn West in Waconia.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waconia, with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is 2 - 5 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia and one hour prior to mass at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Hildreth (Bianchi) Hippert of Waconia; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Larry Sharratt of Waconia, Carol Zehnder and special friend Frank Nitti of Bloomington, and Becky and Al Schierman of Moorhead; son-in-law, Jerry Perkovich of Brooklyn, Wis.; brothers and sister-in-law, Waldo and Lucy Hippert of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Morris Hippert of New Ulm; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine and Ray Bode of Courtland, Doris Macho of Mankato, Alice and Delbert Lambrecht of New Ulm, and Rosalie and Jeff Butcher of Louisville, Ky.; sisters-in-law, Diane Hippert of New Ulm, and Mariane and husband Calvin Smith of Dover; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Michele Perkovich; parents, Lawrence and Elsie Hippert; and brothers Harvey and Warren Hippert.
He was born May 1, 1916 in New Ulm.

Lloyd Buboltz, 75, of Buffalo Lake, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Renville county Hopsital, in Olivia.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran church in Buffalo Lake.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the church in Buffalo Lake; and continues one hour before the service.
Arrangements are handled by Hughes Funeral Home.

Lloyd Buboltz, 75, of Buffalo Lake, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at the Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake.
Visitation is 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake and one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by his wife Diane of rural Buffalo Lake; children, Denise Davis and her husband Bruce of St. Peter, Eve Buboltz of Montrose, Dawn Buboltz of Lester Prairie, and Todd Buboltz of Crystal; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; brothers, Stanley Buboltz and his wife Dorothy of Buffalo Lake, and Marvin Buboltz of Hutchinson; and sisters, Delores Decker of Hutchinson, Eunice Decker and her husband Charles Fry of Stewart, Lois Peterson of Hector, and Darla Bodie of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Lunita; a sister in infancy, brothers-in-law, Wilfred Decker, Harold Decker, and Earl Peterson, and sister-in-law, Lorraine Buboltz.
He was born June 10, 1926 at his family's farm home in Grafton Township, Sibley County, Minnesota, to Theodore Richard and Lunita Ada (Berger) Buboltz. He grew up in the Buffalo Lake area, and graduated from the Buffalo Lake High School. He served in the Navy as a Hospital Apprentice 1st Class from 1944 to 1946. Upon returning home, Lloyd helped his dad on the farm. He married Diane Faith Danberg on March 6, 1954, in Norwood, Iowa. The couple farmed for 34 years on the home place in Grafton Township. They had spent their winters in Mesa, Ariz., and in April 1996 purchased a home in Chandler, Ariz.

Thomas A.Tyson, 89, of Redwood Falls, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at the Sunwood Good Samaratan Care Center in Redwood Falls.
Services are 3 p.m. Monday at Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls. A Masonic service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Burial is in Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is 1-3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Rebecca Stephens and husband Randy of Redwood Falls, Nancy Roach of Chicago, Tom Roach and wife Missy of Fairbanks, Ark.; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bernice, daughteer Jean Roach, brother Robert Tyson and brother-in-law Jack Franklin.
He was born on April 2, 1912 in Redwood Falls, to Joseph and Nettie (MacLaer) Tyson. He gradutated from Redwood Falls High School in 1929 and attended St. Thomas Military Academy in St. Paul. He married Bernice Franklin on April 4, 1933, at the Franklin family farm north of Redwood Falls. They lived in Redwood Falls, where Tom was the Redwood County Weed & Seed Inspector. He retired in 1974. He served as president of the Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the hospital and park boards. He was active in the Masons and the Shriners. Tyson Park, the hockey rink and Tyson Trail in Ramsey Park in Redwood Falls are all named to honor the Tyson family.

Sigurd N. Larsen, 87, of Glencoe, formerly of Loves Park, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at the Glencoe Regional Health Service in Glencoe.
Services are 9:30 p.m. Monday at Waconia Alliance Church, with burial in Old English Cemetery in Shabbona, Ill.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Waconia Alliance Church and one hour prior to services. Local arrangements are handled by Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Houghtby Larsen of Glencoe; children and spouses, Geoffrey and Rebecca of Abingdon, Va., Sonja and Rudy Nielson of Freeport, Ill., Paul and Linda of Arlington, Ingrid and Daniel Clark of Rockford, Ill., Ruth Center of Mount Vernon, Iowa, and Rachel and David Kronlokken of North Mankato; and 17 grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters.
He was born Nov. 12, 1914, in Leland, Ill., to Ludwig and Inger Marie (Carlson) Larsen. He married Florence Houghtby on May 15, 1937, at Trinity Lutheran Parsonage in DeKalb, Ill. He worked on various farms in the DeKalb area. He was also employed by Wurlitizer Piano Factory in DeKalb for many years. In 1947 they moved to Minneapolis to attend the missionary program at the Lutheran Bible Institute. In 1950, he and his family traveled to France for a year of language training. In 1951, the family answered a call to serve as missionaries at Sudan Mission in Cameroon, West Africa. In 1966, the family moved to Ottawa, Ill., where he assumed a two-point parish, Freedom Lutheran and St. Petri Lutheran Church. In 1976, Sigurd and Florence answered a call to Senegal, West Africa, where they pioneered a mission to the Fulani-speaking people. In 1981, they retired and moved to Springfield, Mo., where he assisted with Family Life Mission. In 1985, they moved to Loves Park, Illinois to be near family. In 1996, they moved to Arlington. In 1998, he became a resident of the Glencoe Health Center.

Elmer Ranzau, 90, of Gaylord, died Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Gaylord Lakeview Home in Gaylord.
Services are 10;30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation Is 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at the new Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord, and one hour prior to services at the church.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Anna Jean and Ronald Bembenek of Oswego, N.Y.; brother Edward Ranzau of Darwin; special friend Leona Rose of Gaylord; sisters-in-law, Myrna Podratz of Gaylord, Lucille and husband Vernon Schultz of Glencoe and Agnes Podratz of Gaylord; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994; parents; son Robert Ranzau in 1967; brother Louie Ranzau; sisters Lena Fuchs and Selma Ranzau; brothers-in-law, Gerhard Podratz, Ben Muelling; Reinhard Podratz; sisters-in-law, Ella Muelling and Lydia Podratz.
He was born August 29, 1911, In New Auburn Township, Sibley County, to Otto and Albertina (Bartels) Ranzau. He married Malinda Podratz on Sept. 19, 1937, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. In 1940 he farmed in Alfsborg Township. In 1947 he purchased a farm In Sibley Township. They retired in 1975 and moved into Gaylord.
He has been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord since 1937 and served in church offices.
