Willmer A. Gehrke, 75 of rural Winthrop, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Penn Township, McLeod County, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the time of services at the church on Thursday.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine C. Gehrke of rural Winthrop; daughter, Myra Dolly of rural Winthrop; son, David Gehrke of New Ulm; three grandchildren; brother, Merrill Gehrke of Brownton; and sister, Lois Renner of Victoria.
He was born April 26, 1926, in Round Grove Township, McLeod County, to Albert and Esther (Polzin) Gehrke.

Mary Frances Tighe, 92, of St. James, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital, Mankato.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church in St. James with burial in Calvary Cemetery, St. James.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home. There will be a Christian Mothers rosary at 4 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She is survived by sons, Jim of St. James, Bob of Owatonna; daughters, Kathleen Rich of St. Paul, Marilyn Melin of Maple Grove, Pat Poss of Fridley; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Ervin Sturm of Fairmont; and sisters, Josephine Bartlet of St. Peter, Mildred Dick of Madelia, and Margaret Kuehl of St. James.
She was born Nov. 7, 1909, to Max and Katie (Riesenberg) Sturm in St. Helena, Neb.

Scott A. Guscette, 31, of Belle Plaine, Minn., died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Fairfax, with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Roger Woller and Rev. LaVern Holz will be officiating.
Visitation is 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at the church. Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine handled arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle of Belle Plaine; daughter, Desirae; son, Derek; parents, Raymond and Judy of Clear Lake, Iowa; sisters, Michele (LaRoy) McFerran and Kylie (Clint) Calease, both of Clear Lake, IA; four nieces and nephews, Samantha Guscette, Hunter McFerran, and Madelyn and Tateon Calease; Grandmother, Evelyn Rebhahn of Beulah, N.D.; father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Renae Firle of Fairfax; and brother-in-law, Shawn (Karen) Firle; and grandparents-in-law, Ruth Black, Corwin and June Firle.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Duane Guscette and Arnold & Madelyn Clementson.
He was born on Sept. 21, 1970 in Jamestown, N.D. to Raymond and Judy (Clementson) Guscette, He was a 1989 graduate of Mandan N.D. High School, a 1993 graduate of Willmar Community College, and 1995 graduate of Mankato State University. Scott and Michelle Firle were married on Jan. 4, 1992 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Fairfax by Rev. Roger Woller.
Scott was employed in law enforcement by the City of Mankato, worked as a deputy for Pine and Chisago Counties, and was later employed by Minnesota State Patrol, District of Scott and Carver Counties as a State Patrolman. Scott was an outdoorsman, liked fishing, camping, golf, hockey, and taking walks.

Minnie Buboltz, 94, of Bird Island, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at the Olivia Healthcare Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Swedlanda Lutheran Church, Palmyra Township, rural Hector with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is one hour before the service Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are handled by Hughes Funeral Home.

Krissa Brudelie, 21, of Murray, Utah, formerly of New Ulm, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, in Orem, Utah, the result of an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be conducted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lake Hanska Lutheran Church, rural Hanska, with burial to follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Visitation is 4 - 8 p.m. Friday at the Firle Funeral Home in New Ulm, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Krissa is survived by her mother Sheri Thompson and her husband Ben of New Ulm; father Jon Brudelie of Hanska; brothers, Josh Brudelie and his fiance Elly Krzmarzick of Hanska, Jayden Sievert, Jordan Brudelie and sister Ashley Brudelie all of New Ulm; grandparents, Warren and Shirley Brudelie of Hanska, Betty Sievert of Murray, Utah; a niece Kaila Brudelie of Hanska; aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Orville Sievert
Krissa Elizabeth Brudelie, the daughter of Jon and Sheri (Sievert) Brudelie, was born Oct. 16, 1980, in New Ulm, where she attended New Ulm schools, graduating from New Ulm High School in 1999. For the past three years, she has lived in Murray, Utah while attending Brigham Young University in Provo, where she was a Junior majoring in secondary education/humanities/ English at the time of her death.

Jordan Jennings, 2, of Glenwood City, Wis., died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at the Gillette Children's Hospital in St. Paul of complications from a drowning accident.
Jordan is the daughter of Kevin and Sybil (Beltz) Jennings who are formerly of the Mankato, New Ulm and Sleepy Eye areas.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at the Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery in New Ulm. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Friday.
Jordan is survived by her parents Kevin and Sybil Jennings of Glenwood City, Wis.; brothers, Tyler and Dylan both at home; maternal grandparents, Karen Beltz of Atlanta, Ga., and Steve and Rita Beltz of New Ulm; paternal grandparents, Richard and Susan DeMoss of Cottage Grove; maternal great grandparents, Anna Peterman of Evan, and Vic and Dorothy Christensen of Sleepy Eye; paternal great grandparents, Clarence and Veda Ites of Mankato; aunts and uncles, Sally Beltz, Nicole and Jeremy Serbus, Andrew Beltz, and Kurt Walden, all of New Ulm.
Jordan was born March 29, 1999 in Mankato to Kevin Lee and Sybil Lyn (Beltz) Jennings.

Evelyn Arnsdorf, 82, of Sanborn, died Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Springfield, with burial to follow at the Lamberton Cemetery in Lamberton. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, and one hour prior to services at the church, Thursday.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Werner of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Janet Wing of Belgrade; sons, Kenneth Arnsdorf of Jeffers, Neddy Arnsdorf of Sanborn, and Bruce Arnsdorf Maricopa, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Frank Gremmert of Redwood Falls; and sisters, Elsie Kleist of Mankato; and Lydia Addison of Coon Rapids.
Evelyn Bertha Arnsdorf was born Aug. 28, 1919, to Otto and Bertha (Galbrecht) Gremmert in Walnut Grove.

Dustin Herr, 17, of Owatonna, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, in Steele County.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna. The Reverend Peter Klein of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm. Visitation will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home, at 1930 Austin Rd., Owatonna, on Sunday from 2 - 6 p.m. and on Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 10 - 11 a.m.
Dustin is survived by his parents Jerry and Christine Herr of Owatonna; sisters, Nicole, Shannon and Megan; grandparents, Lois and Eldor Berg of Essig; and grandmother Evelyn Herr of Brownsdale; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Herbert Herr, and his uncle Kevin Berg.
Dustin was born June 21, 1984, in New Ulm, the son of Jerry and Christine (Berg) Herr. Dustin moved with his family from New Ulm to Marshall where he attended elementary school in Milroy through the fifth grade.
The family moved to Owatonna in 1991, where he was currently a student at Owatonna High School. He was a camp counselor at the Horse and Hunt Club in Prior Lake for the last three summers. Dustin was active in baseball, was an avid sports fan. He was also an avid outdoor sportsman and enjoyed hunting, nature, animals and loved his dogs: Buddy, Nicki, and Louis. Dustin was a member of the Minnesota Deer Hunters and Pheasants Forever. Dustin was a loving gentle and caring person and he worked hard at his part-time job. Dustin's family was important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them.

Luverne Lendt, 77, of Springfield, and formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at St. John's Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday Feb. 4, 2002, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye, with Pastor Timothy Grams officiating. Burial will follow at Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Monday.
She is survived by her husband Robert Lendt of Sleepy Eye; sons, Jim and wife Gail Lendt of Sleepy Eye, and Tom and wife Sharon Lendt Of Eden Prairie; three grandchildren, Amy and husband Dan Murphy, Kimberly Lendt and Mike Lendt; brothers, Jerry and wife Shirley Dallmann of Minden, Nev., and Marlyn and wife Carol Dallmann of Sandpoint, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Harvey.
Luverne was born on Feb. 14, 1924, in Courtland, the daughter of Reinhold and Elsie (Bruer) Dallmann. She moved to New Ulm at age 7, where she grew up and attended school. After she graduated from high school she worked at the New Ulm Telephone Company. Luverne married Robert Lendt on Oct. 24, 1943, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Ulm. The couple made their home southeast of Sleepy Eye in Sigel Township, where they farmed for many years. The couple retired and moved to Sleepy Eye. Luverne was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye and the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed flowers and dancing.

Frank Joseph Meyer, 88, of Covington, Ind., formerly of New Ulm, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at St. Anthony Healthcare Center in Lafayette, Ind.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Church in Attica, Ind., with burial at the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Attica, Ind. Arrangements are with the Maus Funeral Home, 765-764-4418.
He is survived by daughters, Theresa Grisham of Yuma, Ariz., Cathy Hoagland of Birmingham, Ala., Helen Meyer of Boulder Creek, Calif., Monica Johner of Collegeville, Penn., and Rita Reynolds, of Attica, Ind.; sons, James Meyer of Edmond, Okla., Richard Meyer and Paul Meyer both of Attica, Ind., Tom Meyer and David Meyer, both of Lafayette, Ind., Peter Meyer of West Lafayette, Ind., Louis Meyer and Pat Meyer, both of Covington, Ind.,; sister, Rose Deml of New Ulm; brother, Peter Meyer of New Ulm; 23 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
He was born Dec. 12, 1913 in Scranton, Iowa, to Joseph and Ottilia Yeagle Meyer.

Violet Anderson, 78, of Butterfield, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002 at St. James Health Services Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at West Sveadahl Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James; and Monday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by daughters, Sandra Willman of Rockford, Iowa; and Laurel Fredin of Mountain Lake; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sisters, Martha Nelson and Erin Holmquist, both of St. James.
She was born Feb. 8, 1923, in Adrian Township, to Martin and Anna (Karlsson) Gustafson.

Darlene Bloom, 57, of Fairfax, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Fairfax Community Home.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Granite Falls with burial in the Granite Falls City Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home, Sacred Heart and Tuesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.

Milo Current, 86, of Duluth, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home, Duluth with inurnment in Sunrise Memorial Park. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation Tuesday at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife, Elma of Duluth; nieces, and nephews.
He was born March 30, 1915 in Brown County to Milo J. Sr. and Ann (Inofer) Current.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Leo F. Lehar, 69, of Sleepy Eye, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at Sleepy Eye Hospital.
Funeral services are Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye.
A Knights of Columbus rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Visitation is Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
He is survived his wife Sylvia Moran; children, Mike and his wife Norine Lehar of Fudson, Ariz.; Katie and husband Scott Pearce of Folsom, Calif., Jim and wife Inabell Lehar of Rock Springs, Wyo., Kevin and wife Dee Lehar of Hanford, Calif., Kenneth and wife Sally Lehar of Salinas, Calif., and Jeff and wife Tommijo Lehar of San Miguel, Calif.; stepchildren, Kathy and husband Chuck Spaeth of Sleepy Eye, Jane and husband Jeff Cook of Sleepy Eye, Marybeth and husband George Heim of Burnsville, Shiela LaPlant of Grand Rapids, Bill and wife Judy Moran of Minnetonka; brothers and sisters, John and wife Barb Lehar, Helen Lehar, Charles Lehar, and Pat and wife Petty Lehar, all of Fairfax; and brother-in-law, Bob Miller of Mankato.
Leo was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Lehar; sisters, Ruth Miller and Rosemary Miller; a sister-in-law, Betty Lehar; and a stepson-in-law, Marcus LaPlant.
Leo Francis Lehar was born March 18, 1932 in Cairo Township, Renville County; to Harry and Felicitas (Palmer) Lehar. He attended St. Andrew's School and graduated from Fairfax High School. He entered the U.S. Army and received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He lived in Fairfax, Douglas, Ariz.; King City, Calif.; and Sleepy Eye. He received the Silver Beaver Boy Scouts of America Award and was a Scout Master for 25 years. Leo married Sylvia Moran on July 2, 1993. He enjoyed team roping, fishing, camping, square dance calling, and gardening.
Memorials are preferred to the Boy Scouts of America, American Cancer Society, and American Lung Association.

Richard Leikam, 76, of Searles died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles with burial in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Searles. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm Veterans Organizations.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-10 a.m. Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. There will be a combined rosary by the St. John's Court Catholic Order of Foresters and the St. John's Society of Searles at 6:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Richard is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Jim Berg, Sandy and Brian Rathmann all of New Ulm, Christine and Jon Kim of Tokyo, Japan; grandchildren, Dan Berg, Jeff Berg, Lisa Berg, Tim Berg, Heidi Rathmann, Chad Rathmann, Emily Kim and Alexandra Kim; sister, Adelia Keyser of Mankato; brother, Willard Leikam of Searles; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Virginia Breu, Roger and Norma Breu all of Searles, Dennis and LaVaun Breu of Stillwater; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marion and Cal Smith of Rochester, Betsy and Larry Gordon of Cambridge; and many nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Esther Leikam; and a brother, Clarence Leikam.
Richard was born on Aug. 27, 1925 in Searles to George and Mary (Keller) Leikam. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1945 and served in France and Germany and was honorably discharged in 1946. He married Esther Breu on June 20, 1953 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles. They owned and operated Richard's Corner in Searles from 1952 to 1988. He worked for the Brown County Engineering Department from 1957 to 1986. He had a life-long love of fishing, hunting and baseball. He served on the Cottonwood Township Board as clerk for 35 years and as a supervisor for three years. He served as secretary-treasurer of the New Ulm Rural Fire Association for 15 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles, the St. John's Court No. 698 Catholic Order of Foresters, the St. John's Society of Searles, the Seifert - Bianchi American Legion Post No. 132 in New Ulm where he has been a Comrade of Valor for military funerals from 1987 to the present.
The family prefers memorials be given to NUACS or St. John's Catholic Church in Searles.

Curtis Lovre, 89, of Spicer, formerly of Redwood Falls, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002 in Edina.
A private service will be held Monday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home, Redwood Falls with burial in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
There is no visitation.
He is survived by daughters, Leni Johnson of Edina and Cathy Christensen of Edina; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was born Jan. 3, 1913, in Toronto, S.D.
