Adela Ann (Bahr) Woods, 97, formerly of Gibbon and North Mankato, died May 25, 2003, at Mankato Lutheran Home.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Wednesday May 28, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Mankato. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Gibbon.
Visitation is 6:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and continues one hour before the services Wednesday at the church.
She is survived by son Lawrel Wood of North Mankato; sister, Alice Nieman of Winthrop; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
She was born Aug. 9, 1905, to Ludwig and Martha (Peterman) Bahr.

Marlene G. Lindner, 59, of Foley, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at the Foley Nursing Center.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Foley. The Rev. Michael Dagel will officiate. Burial will be in the New Ulm City Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m., Tuesday, at the Foley Funeral Home and one hour before the service Wednesday at the church. Prayer services will be 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Marlene Lindner was born Jan. 31, 1944, in Glencoe, to Jessie and Emma (Paulson) Gehrt. She married Leo Lind on May 23, 1964, at Friends United Church of Christ, New Ulm. She had lived in Foley since 1968. She had worked at the Foley Nursing Center, Good Shepard Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids and the Union Hospital in New Ulm. She was a member and former treasurer of the Cross Center, St. Paul's Ladies Aid, Gilman VFW Auxiliary and St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son and daughters, Frank of Foley, Marie (Jawad) Hamayel of Milwaukee; Judi Lindner of St. Cloud; grandson, Joshua Lindner; sisters, Myrna Roiger of New Ulm; LaVonne Hoffman of Klossner; Fernell Newton of Anaconda, Mont.; and Arlen Gehrt, New Ulm.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo on Aug. 18, 1984; parents; infant daughter Anna; and sister Eunice.

Willard Danielson, 91, of Bird Island, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at Fairfax Community Home.
Services are 1 p.m., Friday, Friday, May 30, at Palmyra Covenant Church, Palmyra Township, rural Hector, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Thursday at Palmyra Covenant Church and continues one hour before the service Friday at the church.
Arrangements are handled by Hughes Funeral Home.
He was born April 1, 1912, in Palmyra Township, Renville County, to Andrew and Hannah (Anderson) Danielson.

Judy M. Grimm, 59, of Hector, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at her home.
Services are 11 a.m., Friday, May 30, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Thursday at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and continues one hour before the service Friday at the church.
Memorials are preferred to the ALS Association and the Renville County Hospice.
She is survived by husband, Lowell of Hector; sons, Mark and Damen; daugher, Christine; seven grandchidlren; stepsons, Michael, Davie and Jonathan; four stepgrandchildren; and brother, Gerald.
She was born July 28, 1943, in Litchfield to Ancel and Freda Nelson.

Reuben A. Kujas, 76, of Brownton, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at his home.
Services are 2 p.m., Thursday, May 29, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton, with burial in the church cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the Hutchinson Memorial Rifle Squad.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. until the time of service today at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brownton. Arrangements are with the Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.
He is survived by his wife Leone Kujas of Brownton; daughter Konnie Bartels of New Ulm; son Wayne Kujas of Brownton; five grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy Muchow of Winthrop, and Shirley Stark of Gibbon.

Amelia B. Schroepfer Heitzer, 96,of Sleepy Eye, died on Monday, May 26, 2003, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.
Service is 10 a.m., Saturday, May 31, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Brian W. Oestreich officiating. Burial will be at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Friday, at Sturm Funeral Home and 7:30-9 a.m., Saturday. There will be a parish prayer service at 4 p.m. and a Christian Mothers/Catholic Aid rosary at 7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
Amelia Sellner was born Feb. 6, 1907, to Christ and Mariana (Schloegl) Sellner in Albin Township. On Feb. 1, 1927, she married Felix Schroepfer at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Felix preceded her in death July 9, 1941. Amelia married Anton Heitzer on Sept. 9, 1946, and the couple made their home in Sleepy Eye. Amelia worked at A. J. Pietrus for 50 years in Sleepy Eye. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Sleepy Eye, Catholic Aid Association, and Christian Mothers. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include two sons: Ollie Schroepfer and his wife Dorothy, New Ulm, and Dutch Schroepfer and his wife Bev of Sleepy Eye; brothers, Leonard Sellner of Sleepy Eye and Clement Sellner and his wife Dorothy of Sleepy Eye; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; four sisters, Clara Schroepfer of Sleepy Eye, Kate Johnson and her husband Harold of Madelia, Angie Weber of Gibbon and Ann Hacker of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Felix Schroepfer and Anton Heitzer; five brothers, William, Albert, Christ, Edmund, and Florian Sellner; and four sisters, Mary Moldan, Mathilda Blumhoefner, Martha Weber, and Bertha Muehlbauer.

Fred Ruch, 70, of Madelia, formerly of LaSalle, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church, rural Hanska, with Rev. Robert Vedell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Schmucker Funeral Service of Hanska is handling the arrangements.
Frederick Orin Ruch, the son of Orie and Gail (Brothers) Ruch, was born September 7, 1932 in Blue Earth County. He attended country school near Judson and later attended school in Lake Crystal before moving with his family to the Madelia area where he graduated from Madelia High School in 1950. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Evjen on February 16, 1951 at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church. Together they farmed near LeCenter and Belle Plaine, before returning to the Madelia area. His wife died the result of an accident on September 23, 1983.
Fred continued to farm and also drove truck for the LaSalle Farmer's Elevator. He retired and moved to La Salle in 1999. Fred became a resident of the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia in February of 2002, and was member of Lake Hanska Lutheran Church.
Survivors include daughters, Deb Miller and her husband Dan of Hastings, Kim Yock and her husband Jim of St. James; sons, Steve Ruch and his wife Cheri of Colorado Springs, CO, Rich Ruch and his wife Brenda of New Ulm; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Wanda Johns and her husband Harold "Pete" of St. Peter, Phyllis Haglund and her husband Lawrence of New Brighton, Sandy Litsey of Denver, CO; companion, Leniece Postel of Madelia; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Fred was preceded in death by an infant brother and infant sister.

William A. 'Bill" Zins, 90, of Redwood Falls, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7:30 p.m. Friday at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls with prayers to follow and Saturday at the church, one hour prior to the service.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa of Redwood Falls; daughters, Monica K. Maurer of Windom and Domitilla Wohlman of Redwood Falls; a son, William L. of Lincoln, Neb.; and eight grandchildren.
He was born April 17, 1913 near Wabasso to Peter and Christine (Berg) Zins. He served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 6, 1941 to Aug. 9, 1945.

Ruth M. Sowder, 82, of Redwood Falls, died Thursday, May 29, 2003 at the Hennepin County Medical Center.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 3 at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls, with burial in Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by a brother, Lester Sowder of Edina.
She was born April 4, 1921, in Seaforth, to James and Mary (Holzerland) Sowder.

Leona Baird, 89,of Roseville, formerly of the Sleepy Eye area, died on Friday, May 30, 2003, at the Eagle Crest Assisted Living Center in Roseville.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, with Pastor Ron Freimark officiating. Interment will be at the Prairieville Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
Leona was born on Aug. 21, 1913, in Sleepy Eye, the daughter of Albert and Martha (Simonsen) Christensen. She graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1931. She then went on for a year of training in Sleepy Eye for normal school. Leona taught at Eden Township Country School for several years. She then moved to Minneapolis with her sister Hazel and went to work at Merrill Lynch for 40 years. In the 1950s, she was transferred to Chicago, where she married Jack Baird in 1960. Leona and sister Hazel moved back to Roseville, Minn., upon her retirement from Merrill Lynch. Leona remained in Roseville until her death.
Survivors include, eight nieces and nephews, Dean Christensen of New Brighton, Dennis Christensen of Little Falls, Barbra Eden of California, William (Bill) Ericksen of Burnsville, Kathy Schultz of Mankato, Cindy Ericksen of Lake City, Jack Brady of Baltimore, Md., and Michael Brady of Jay, Vt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Martha (Simonsen) Christensen; husband Jack Baird; brother, Reynold (Chris) Christensen, sisters, Syliva Ericksen, Loraine Brady and Hazel Christensen; and niece, Patti Jones.

Karl A. Fritsch, 89, of Nicollet, died Friday, May 30, 2003, at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet with burial in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Nicollet. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at church on Tuesday.
Karl is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy Lueck of Waterville, Joanne and Myron Bode of Nicollet, Janet "Jenny" and Jim Otto of Nicollet, Shirley and Gary Bruns of New Ulm, and Sharon ZumBerge of New Ulm; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Elda on April 14, 1994; two sisters; and three brothers.
Karl was born May 26, 1914, in Kelso Township, Sibley County, to George and Anna (Erdman) Fritsch. He married Elda Schroeder on April 6, 1935, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Winthrop. After marriage they farmed in the Gaylord and Arlington area for 20 years. They moved to Nicollet in 1954, where they owned and operated Karl's Bar until 1968. They moved to Rhinelander, Wis., for two years and the back to Nicollet in 1971. Karl was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nicollet. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, auctions, antiques and dancing.

Norman Jannicke, 79, of rural Gibbon died Friday, May 30, 2003, at the Fairfax Community Home in Fairfax.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Monday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Tuesday.
Norman is survived by his wife Melicent Jannicke of rural Gibbon; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Galen Wills of Arlington; a grandson, Jonathan Wills; sister Elsie Gray of McIntosh; and a sister-in-law, Irma Jannicke of Anoka. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Isabelle Ruschmeyer, Christine Albrecht, Erna Fenske, and Esther Krueger; and brothers, Herbert, Alvin, Alfred, Walter and Herman Jannicke.
Norman was born on Nov. 4, 1923, in Moltke Township, Sibley County, to Theodore and Mathilda (Stenzel) Jannicke. He served in the 25th Army Division from Feb. 23, 1943, to Jan. 6, 1946, in the Philippines. He married Melicent Grewe on July 15, 1948, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon. After marriage they farmed in Moltke Township, Sibley County, until 1967. He then was employed in the Fertilizer Division of the Gibbon Farmer's Elevator until he retired. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 226 in Gibbon, and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon.

Dolores M. Ludewig, 74, of 825 9th Ave. S., St. Cloud, died Thursday, May 29, at the St. Cloud Hospital, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Burial will be at New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and two hours prior to the services Tuesday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
Dolores was born Dec. 24, 1928 in New Ulm to John & Josephine (Pany) Groebner. She lived in New Ulm most of her life and spent the last ten years in St. Cloud, to be closer to her family. Her greatest joy in recent years was her great-grandson, Nathan. Dolores loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the German-Bohemian Heritage Society and was proud of her Austrian heritage. She loved cooking, baking, music and dancing.
Dolores is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Shari & Robert Movold of St. Cloud, Lynn & Bruce Winch of St. Cloud; brother, Norman Groebner of New Ulm; grandchildren, Angie (Chris) Levandowski and Michelle (Dave) Emery; great grandchildren, Nathan Emery and Robert, Andrew, and Ryan Levandowski.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Cecilia Zupfer and Lillian Prysok; and brothers, Charles and Hubert Groebner.

Arnold E. Witte, 84, of Hutchinson, died Friday, May 30, 2003, at his home.
Services are 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 4, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, with burial in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson, with full military rites by the Hutchinson Memorial Rifle Squad.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Witte of Hutchinson; sons, Bernard Witte of St. Paul, and Thomas Witte of El Paso, Texas; five grandchildren ; and sisters, Amanda Diamond of Oakdale, and Ruth Kamps of Le Sueur.
Arnold Emil Witte was born on Dec. 3, 1918, in Stewart, Minn., to Otto and Minnie (Trojan) Witte.
He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.

Mildred Irene (Hoffman) Bowers 82,of St. James, died on Sunday, June 1, 2003, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James,
Services are 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in St. James with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Tuesday and 7:30-11:30 a.m., Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James.
She is survived by sisters, Deloris Rich of St. James, and Eleanor Patterson of Glendale, Ariz.
She was born on Sept. 29, 1920, in St. James, to Louis F. and Bertha (Dallinger) Hoffman.

Flora (Bode) Cole, 56 of Payson, Arizona, formerly of Gil-Mor Manor Nursing Home, Morgan, Minn., died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Manzanita Nursing & Rehab Center in Payson, Arizona.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Fletcher's Mortuary in Show Low, Arizona.
A memorial service for her family and friends that are not attending her funeral in Arizona will be held at Gil-Mor Manor Nursing Home in Morgan, Minn., on Friday June 6, at 9:30 a.m.
Flora is survived by her husband Wayne Cole of Cibecue, AZ; daughter and son-in-law Carisa and Bill Perkins of Lenexa, KS; son and daughter-in-law Morey and Dena Cole of Carrizo, AZ, daughter and son-in-law Shauna and Joe Luera of Phoenix, AZ; daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Ryan Randolph of Cascade, CO; and son and daughter-in-law Daren and Tausha Cole of Payson, AZ.; six grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Gerald and Linda Bode of Mapleton, Nathan and Cheryl Bode of Courtland, Reverend Paul and Sue Bode of Henning, sister and brother-in-law Carol and Rick Harkins of Hamilton, Ind; brother and sister-in-law Reverend Arthur and Jody Bode of Engadine, MI, Mark Bode of New Ulm, Edward and Vicky Bode of New Ulm, and Martin and Deb Bode of Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one grandchild, Rose Cole who died shortly after birth.
Flora was born on June 25 1946, at Union Hospital in New Ulm, Minn., to Wilmer and Marie (Gurgel) Bode. Flora grew up on a dairy farm in Courtland Township, Nicollet County. She was the oldest of nine children, she was a great help to her mother raising the younger children and also enjoyed being outside helping her dad, She was involved with 4-H and showing cattle at county and state fairs. She attended grade school at Immanuel Lutheran School in rural Courtland. She graduated from high school at Martin Luther Academy 1964 and graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College with a degree in teaching in 1969.
She married Wayne Cole on June 7, 1969, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland, Minn. Flora and her husband Wayne spent much of their married lives on a small Indian reservation in the upper elevation of Arizona, of Cibecue Ariz., as Lutheran Missionary Teachers and later, manager/bookkeeper of the local Trading Post. She played piano and organ, loved to sing and take long walks.
