Warren Brudelie, 77, of rural Hanska, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at his home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Vedell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 3 - 6 p.m. today at Schmucker Funeral Service in Hanska, and one hour prior to service at the church.
Warren Randall Dennis Brudelie, the son of Olaf and Anna (Peterson) Brudelie, was born Sept. 28, 1926, on the family farm in Lake Hanska Township, Brown County. He attended country school and spent his entire life operating the home farm. Warren was a member of Lake Hanska Lutheran Church, having served on the church council and the Albin Township Board for many years.
Survivors include his wife Shirley of Hanska; sons, Tim Brudelie and his wife Dianne of Hanska, and Jon Brudelie and his companion Wanda "Sam" Erickson of Hanska; daughters, Terri Budahn of New Ulm, and Jackie Farasyn and her husband Tom of New Ulm; 12 grandchildren, Jesse, Miranda, Melissa and Melanie Brudelie, Jessica Beyer, Josh Brudelie and his wife Elly, Ashley and Jordan Brudelie, Andy and Dani Budahn, and Lauren and Karl Farasyn; four great-grandchildren; brother Ray Brudelie and his wife Alice of Hanska; sister Delphine Ohland of Rothschild, Wis.; sisters-in-law, Ardis Mikkelson of Madelia, and Donna Ahlness and her husband Jerry of Hanska; brothers-in-law, Robert Pierson and his wife Virginia of Madelia, and Jerry Pierson and his wife Carol of New Ulm; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Krissa Brudelie; son-in-law, Bob Budahn; two brothers and five sisters.

Mary M. "Mim" Hemann, 69, formerly of Meyer, Iowa died December 19, 2003 at the Riceville Community Rest Home in Riceville, Iowa from complications of Alzheimer's Disease where she has resided since October of 1991. She had spent a short time at the Patty Elwood Alzheimer's Center in Cresco, Iowa during that time.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 22, 2003 at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer, IA with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 P.M. Sunday at the church and will continue on Monday for one hour prior to the service. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday at the church. Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, Minn. is in charge of the arrangements.
Mary is survived by her children, Elaine (Tim) Felton of Decorah, IA, Myron (Monica) Hemann of Meyer, IA, Lori (Lloyd) Turner of La Crosse, Wis. and formerly of Rochester, Minn., Theresa (Keith) Speltz of rural Altura, Minn.; grandchildren, Brandon (Allison) Hemann, Jacob (Jess) Hemann, Holly Hemann, Myron "Sonny" Hemann, Heather (Todd) Womack, Lloyd Turner III, John Turner, Daniel Herman, Tyler Speltz, Erin Speltz, and Caleb Speltz; great grandchildren, Raelei and Austin Hemann and Jacob Womack; sisters and brother-in-law, Irene (Vincent) Hemann and Delores Hemann, all of Osage, IA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Rosemary Hemann of Osage, IA; also by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Arnold on July 5, 1983.
Mary was born on October 5, 1934 in New Haven, IA to Leon and Catherine (Elgas) Dostart. She graduated from the St. Peter's Catholic School in New Haven, IA. After graduation she work as a telephone operator for the New Hampton Telephone Company. On June 1, 1954 she married Arnold Hemann at the St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Haven, IA. After marriage they farmed the Hemann family farm in rural Meyer, IA. Mary was a cake decorator for many years. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer, IA where she was active in starting the religious education program and was also a member of the church choir.

Esther Thran, 91, of Hutchinson, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Grace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, with burial in the Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church on Monday. Arrangments are with the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.

Myra A. Wendelschafer, 86, of St. Peter died Saturday, December 20 at St. Peter Community Health Care Center.
Mass of the Resurrection will be Tuesday: December 23, 2003; 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Visitation on Monday from 4 to 7:30 PM with a 6:30 PM parish prayer service will be at St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel. Visitation continues on Tuesday at the church one hour prior to services. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Myra was born on April 2, 1917 in New Ulm. to Joseph and Hedwig (Ramweiler) Wolf She attended Holy Trinity High School in New Ulm. On January 3, 1940 she married Lyle S. Wendelschafer at Trinity Parish house. Myra was a home maker all her life and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and cooking. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter and the CCW.
Surviving are two daughters- Joyce Morrissette of Richfield and Ronda and her husband Dan Gapinski of Burnsville; one son Tom and his wife Mary Wendelschafer of St. Peter. Six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, aunt Stella of St. Paul, many nieces and nephews.
Preceeding Myra in death were her parents, husband Lyle in 1999, brother Robert, a son-in law, and one great grandchild in infancy.

Steven Matthews, 54, of New Ulm died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
Steven was born Jan. 7, 1949, in Wayzata, to Ralph and Elsie (Anderson) Matthews. He served in the U.S. Navy, Sea Bees during the Vietnam War.
Arrangements are with the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.

M. Callie Goddard, 72, of Marietta, Ohio, and formerly of New Ulm, died Dec. 20, 2003, at Heartland of Marietta.
Services are 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at Putnam Congregational Church.
Hadley Funeral Home of Marietta is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by husband Dayton C. Goddard Jr. of Marietta; daughter Brenda Sharp of Waverly, WV; sons, Stephen of Mansfield, Ohio, Michael J. Goddard of Columbus, OH; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters and one brother.
She was born Jan. 13, 1930, in Cutler, Ohio, to John D. and D. Hazel (Corn) Poling.

Angie M. Sturm, 95, of Springfield, MN died on Saturday, December 20, 2003, at Springfield Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m., and on Wednesday from 7:30 to 10 a.m., at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN. There will be a parish prayer service on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Sturm Funeral Home and a CCW Rosary on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the St. Raphael's Catholic Church.
Service will be held at St. Raphael's Catholic Church on Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. The Clergy will be Father Dennis Labat with interment at the St. Raphael's Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.

Survivors include her five daughters, Marilyn and husband Edwin J. Windschitl of Springfield, Mary Ann and husband Kenneth Arnoldi of Lamberton, Annette and husband Edwin Treml of Sleepy Eye, Phyllis and husband Ignatius Hoffman of Sleepy Eye and Judy Arnoldi of Springfield; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and a sister Frieda Haas of Sleepy Eye.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wm. Michael in 1988; son Michael in 1971; an infant son in 1938; a grandson Terry Treml; great-grandchildren, Jake Windschitl, Kevin Hoffman and Michelle Arnoldi; sisters, Martha Windschitl and Louise Zwaschka and brothers, Norbert, Anthony (Tony), and Leo Schroepfer.
Angeline Marie Schroepfer, the daughter of Anton and Theresa (Prokosch) Schroepfer, was born November 18, 1908, in Albin Township, Brown County. She attended St. Mary's School, moving with her parents into Sleepy Eye in 1931. Angie helped out at various homes. On September 5, 1933, she married William Michael Sturm at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. They moved to a farm in Mulligan Township, where they farmed and lived until moving into Springfield in 1983. Angie was formerly a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye and a current member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield. She was also a member of St. Anne's C.C.W., St. Monica Court Court C.O.S., a card club, the North Star Extension Club. She was a former 4-H leader, in baking bread, for 10 years; and a member of the Springfield Senior Citizens. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, quilting, crocheting, playing cards, baking, farming, dancing and being with her family.

Loretta Wenisch, 89, of Sleepy Eye, formerly of Springfield, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Service will be held at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield on Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 10:30 a.m.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Monday; and Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.

Delores N. Drury, 83, of Redwood Falls, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls.
Funeral is 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 24, at Nelson-Mart Funeral Service in Redwood Falls. Burial will be in Middle Creek Zion Cemetery in Flora Township.
Visitation is Wednesday, from 9-10 a.m. at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls.
She is survived by sister Albatina "Tina" Drury of Redwood Falls. She was born Sept. 7, 1920, in Beaver Falls Township, Renville County, Minnesota to Ernest & Hattie (Becker) Drury.

Arlene S. Hildreth, 70, of Lamberton, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at the Valley View Care Center in Lamberton.
Services are 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 29, at Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton; and continues one hour before services at the church.

Dora Knaak, 89, of Stewart, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at the Buffalo lake Healthcare Center.
Funeral service is 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 26, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stewart, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m., Thursday at Hughes Funeral Home in Stewart, and continue one hour before the service Friday at the church.

Harold O. Moldestad, 88, of Redwood Falls, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls.
Service is 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 27, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Friday, at Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls, with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
He is survived by wife Evelyn of Redwood Falls; children, Mary Hartmann of Mapleton, Susan Burt of Eagan and William Moldestad of Redwood Falls.
He was born Dec. 19, 1915, in Delhi Township, Redwood County, to William and Helena (Haubrich) Moldestad.

Donald E. Schmid, 88, of Sleepy Eye, died on Monday, December 22, 2003, at Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye.
Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, on Wednesday December 24, 2003 from 7:30 AM to 10:00 a.m. There will be a Parish Prayer Service Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. The Clergy will be Fr. Brian Oestreich.Interment will be at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery
Donald 'Don' Edward Schmid, Sr. was born October 22, 1915 in Tracy, MN, the son of Edward 'Mike' and Josephine (Welch) Schmid. He graduated from Tracy High School in 1933 and attended the University of St. John's in Collegeville. Don was united in marriage to Elizabeth 'Betty' Hentges on June 17, 1941 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Following his honorable discharge they moved to Sleepy Eye where he served as president of the State Bank of Sleepy Eye, now known as Americana Community Bank, until his retirement in 1983.
Don was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. He served as past commander of the Benjamin A. Remmele American Legion Post #7, and as past president of the Sleepy Eye Golf Club. Don enjoyed golf, bowling, hunting, fishing, music, dancing, traveling and spending winters at Lake Havasu, AZ. He especially enjoyed his Irish heritage.
Don Schmid died Monday, December 22, 2003 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center at the age of 88 years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of Sleepy Eye; sons, Donald 'Toby' and wife Gwen Schmid of Sleepy Eye, Michael and wife Karen Schmid of Sleepy Eye; daughters, Joanne and husband Rollin Seip of Pickerington, OH, Gloria and husband Michael Peluso of New Brighton, MN; niece, Bette Jo Gervais; and nephew, Donny Eiler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Dorothy O'Brien.

Loretta Wenisch, 89, of Springfield, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Sleepy Eye Care Center.
Service is 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 23, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 7:30-10 a.m., today at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth Wenisch of Springfield, Norbert Wenisch of Searles, Lois Birdsong of Meadowlakes, TX, Gerald Wenisch of Plymouth, Lynn Wenisch of Henderson, and Jean Domeier of Sleepy Eye; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brothers, Matt Turbes of Morgan, Sylvester Turbes of Sleepy Eye, Victor Turbes of Maple Plain, and James Turbes of Springfield.
She was born Sept. 28, 1914, in Brookville Township, Redwood County, to Hubert and Mary (Grausam) Turbes.

Loida I. Froelich, 95, of Marshall, formerly of Redwood Falls, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Weiner Memorial Long Term Care Center in Marshall.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at St. John's Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, with burial in Crestlawn Memorial Garden.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service today at the church. Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls is handling arrangements.
She is survived by her son Harlan, of Bolingbrook, Ill.; daughter Gloria Arndt of Marshall; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and a sister, Elsie Veit of Menahga.
She was born April 9, 1908, to George and Olga (Guetschow) Wotscke.

Dora Knaak, 89, of Stewart, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
Services are 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 26, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stewart. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hughes Funeral Home in Stewart and Friday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
She is survived by her children, LaVerna Horsch of Howard Lake, Otto, Alvin and Elroy, all of Stewart; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Reinhold Bormann of Perham and Norman Bormann of Ottertail; sisters, Sophie Bethke of Buffalo Lake; Pauline Sievert of Brownton, Hermine Anderson of Clearlake Oaks, Calif.; Clara Mohr of Perham; and Geraldine Olson of Perham.
She was born May 10, 1914, in Ottertail to Diedrich and Anna (Stuckenschmidt) Bormann.

Ethel Utecht, 93, of Rochester, formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.
Services are 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-10 a.m. Monday at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.
Ethel is survived by her daughters, Sally Burns of Rochester and Ruth Lundborg of Pine Haven, Wyo.; five grandchildren; and a sister Marguerite Metzger of Kingsburg, Calif.
Ethel was born Oct. 19, 1910, in Dieterich, Ill., to William and Margaret (Iffert) Ruegger.
